Lada Granta wheel bolt pattern: which ones are suitable and which ones to choose, table of ideal wheel and tire parameters

Tire size is one of the most important parameters that can significantly change the behavior of a car on the road. In our review we will tell you about the permissible tire size on the Grant, as well as what the size of the tires affects during the operation of the car. Let's start with the tire and wheel sizes allowed by the manufacturer.

Sphere of influence of tires and wheels

To understand which tires are best suited for the Lada Granta, you first need to find out what the size of the tires and wheels of the car affects. Service station specialists note that when replacing tires, one should be guided by the fact that the difference in outer diameter is minimal.

The selection of tires affects the following features of vehicle operation:

  • brake and traction characteristics;
  • transmission;
  • fuel consumption;
  • atmospheric emissions.

Increasing the radius of the wheel, tire and rim has the following effects.

Tire increaseDisc enlargementWheel enlargement
Steering precision+++
Tire grip on wet roads
Tire grip on dry roads+
General driving comfort
Fuel consumption++
Wear rate+
General management indicators+++

Legend: + - improvement, - - deterioration, 0 - no change.

Changing your tire size will definitely lead to changes in your vehicle's handling accuracy. As the volume of the tire becomes larger, the scale of the space in contact with the road surface increases. This provides ample opportunities for maneuverability.

Factory specifications of tires and wheels for LadaGranta

According to the factory specifications, the original tires supplied from the factory have a radius of R14 and R13. R14 is a fairly classic option for small cars. Both wheels and tires with these dimensional characteristics are inexpensive and are quite easy to find on the market. The situation is similar with the R13. Therefore, when analyzing which discs are suitable for the nagrant, you should keep this point in mind.

Size characteristics of tires and wheels, which are also suitable for LadaGranta Currently, all AvtoVAZ models with front-wheel drive are equipped with R15 size wheels. And although the original Lada Granta R15 tires with this wheel model have dimensional characteristics of 185/55, they will also fit well with tires 175/70, 185/60 and even 195/55.

Lada Granta Sport tires have a factory size of R16. The dimensions of the tire itself are 195/50. On the Grant Sport, the tire size dictates that the rack is shortened, allowing even the smallest wheel to fit into the space for it. With this wheel diameter you can safely install tires of sizes 175/50, 184/45 and even 195/40.

Factory tire pressure parameters LadaGranta

The pressure in the grant tires of the basic factory configuration, namely R13 and R14 at partial load looks like this: R13 (175/70) - 0.19/0.19 (1.9/1.9) R14 (175/65) - 0 .20/0.20 (2.0/2.0) Data are presented in the ratio “kg/cm2”. The pressure in Grant Sport tires is approximately at the same level, adjusted for the dimensional characteristics of the wheel, namely R16.

Correctly checking tire pressure. Recommendations

Constant monitoring of tire pressure levels ensures safe travel and prevents tire wear. If the pressure is at a low level (below 1.9 atmospheres), then the side parts of the tread, due to the uneven distribution of air when driving, will wear out much more. When tires are overinflated (above a value of 2.0), the middle part of the tread will suffer, which is also fraught with consequences.

List of negative consequences from uneven distribution of tire pressure:

  1. the scale of contact with the road is expanding;
  2. rapid and uneven tread wear;
  3. decreased vehicle controllability;
  4. potential danger of creating an emergency situation on the road.

To correctly measure tire pressure, you will need a pressure gauge. Measurements should be taken some time after the trip, so that the air in the tires has time to cool down after intense heating during driving. The optimal value (for R13 – 1.9, for R14 – 2.0) is indicated as a number that can be found on the gas tank or car door. It is important that when using the pressure gauge, air does not escape from the wheel.

The resulting value must be compared with the optimal one and pumped up to the desired value. For wheels that are parallel and on the same axis, the pressure level should be identical.

Is it possible to install wheels of size R16 205/55 on the Lada Granta

Wheels with a radius of R16 and dimensions of 205/55 are not suitable for both the regular LadaGranta configuration and the Sport model. Due to their too large diameter, they will fit too tightly, which when driving will lead to rapid wear of the treads and reduced maneuverability of the vehicle. Owners of Lada Granta recommend installing 195/50 or 205/45 with a radius of R16.

Bolt pattern of the new “Granta” FL

"Granta" FL is the latest generation of "Lada" of this model. It appeared at the end of 2022 and received some external and internal differences from the previous version. But at the same time, the bolt pattern of “Grants” FL remained unchanged.

"Lada Granta" FL

Drilling has the following parameters: 98*4. 98 mm is the diameter of the circle on which the mounting holes are located (d), and 4 is the number of bolts required to install the wheel. These values are the same for all vehicle trim levels. They are identical for this car in any body type: sedan, liftback, hatchback and crossover.

Winter tires for Lada Granta

The selection of winter tires for the Lada Granta should be based on the characteristics of the terrain on which you will have to drive. If the roads are not cleared enough, and the winter threatens frequent thaws followed by frosts, then in this case you should use studded tires.

Tires for winter use must have soft contact with the road surface, which will provide a reliable degree of traction even on packed snow, and the tread base must be rigid for precise steering. Goodyear, Pirelli and Dinlop Winter companies have the necessary dimensional characteristics for the Lada Granta, namely in the range from R13 to R16.

Winter tires will also require running-in to ensure they fit firmly in their seats. For a good break-in, you will need to drive about 500 kilometers. When running in, you should try to avoid sudden braking and slipping. To improve traction, it is also recommended to choose tires with a narrow profile.

A short checklist - How to buy tires for the Lada Granta correctly

1. You should look for the right tires, keeping in mind the factory dimensional specifications. The size of the selected tires must match these data. 2. Pay attention to the tread pattern. Driving comfort largely depends on it.

3. Pay attention to the width parameters. The acceleration and braking of a car is affected by the width of the spot converging with the road surface. 4. Particular attention should be paid to the bore diameter. Tires that are excessively high or wide can damage the suspension, while tires that are too narrow will increase the load on the bearings. 5. It is important to consider the maximum speed index and load capacity index. 6. Treadwear, Traction, Temperature and MaxPressure data provide information on the tire's factory wear life, braking performance, temperature resistance and pressure limit for the tire respectively.

Video - New LS wheels and Pirelli tires on Grant

Car wheels are an integral and one of the most important parts of any vehicle. The Lada Granta model is suitable for several sizes of wheels and tires, which the manufacturer installs depending on the overall design of the car.

The most frequently produced Grant models are cars with stamped wheels with diameters R13 and R14. Relatively recently, the size range has expanded with R15 and R16 wheels.

ATTENTION! A completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption has been found! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also didn’t believe it until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline! Read more"

The size of the wheels and tires significantly affects the overall performance and behavior of the car on the road. Therefore, the manufacturer does not recommend installing wheels on the LADA Granta whose rim diameter exceeds R15. Owners of cars of this model come to the same opinion. When surveying car enthusiasts, it was revealed that most drivers use wheels with a diameter of 15.

According to technical specifications, factory-equipped vehicles may have the following tire sizes:

Thus, the most suitable tires for a car of this model are R13 and R14 tires. This is a classic size for the Russian car manufacturer. These tires are easy to find on the market. Another advantage is their affordable price.

The possibility of installing R15 tires on the Grant is not excluded. When leaving the assembly line, a car with a rim diameter of 15 has a tire size of 185/55. However, they will fit well with tires from the 175/70 or 185/60 size range.

The difference in the size of the wheels and tires for them affects a number of indicators - the appearance of the car, its behavior while driving, handling, road grip, ride comfort, noise indicators, fuel consumption, tire wear resistance. Therefore, when choosing the size of tires and wheels, you should first familiarize yourself with the table below, where “+” is an improvement, “0” is no change, “-” is deterioration, “>” is an increase.

Forging, only forging. Install any, even “killed” Slick forging and be happy

Ruslan! thank you very much, but I like the design, and forgings or slicks in some versions... maybe later I’ll install them somehow... but now I don’t want to bother with them at all!

I remember there were rawhide alloy wheels before. Almost immediately bent

they cost exactly the same on the VAZ 2110 - everything is fine

I would like to see a photo of how they stand! and there are underfangs on all four arches?!

I have a Kalina Sport 185/55/15, offset 38, no lockers in the rear, factory ones in the front

Tell me if wheels with a radius of 15 from Granta Lux are suitable for a VAZ 2110.. Disc 2110 on a grant.

Yes, ideally you can stuff in 17 and 16

Timofey, 17 on the low side, but how about in the arches? won't you have to roll it out?

If memory serves, then 15e on a grant with a different bolt pattern, see if the bolts fit...

Pasha, why this information? The question is whether 15″ wheels from Grants will fit on the 10. Granta is equipped with 15″ wheels only in the sport version, as far as I know it has a 5-bolt hub

Timofey, r 15, 4 holes

Yuri, your memory is failing you

Yuri, what a moron you are for writing such crap. The entire VAZ line comes with a 4x98 bolt pattern and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a sport or not, and you can even fucking put 18 on it if they fit the width.

Vitaly, be careful with your words, if you don’t know who you’re writing to, then don’t tell me. You stupid redneck, they tell you that sport is good, but you heard a ringing and don’t know where it is... Choose your words

Vitaly, and in fact, if you want to show off your knowledge, then speak to the point, even if you see a mistake, point it out, and don’t shout like a teenager about right and left

Yuri, I’m just infuriated by smart guys like you who don’t know and are trying to be smart. I’m telling you again that AvtoVAZ produces mass-produced cars with a 4-bolt bolt pattern, but not 5.

Lada Granta Sport R 5 bolts, if I made a mistake somewhere, then give reasons. And if you think that I’m not technically literate, then I’m afraid to upset you, this is not so, I’m not going to prove anything to you. I myself do engine repairs and body straightening, but you don’t know, don’t tell me. Give arguments, give an argument, I’ll believe you, no, don’t throw words to the wind

Yuri, if my vision does not deceive me, but in my opinion there are 4 bolts

MB, give your arguments, I said, check the bolt pattern, if it matches the holes, then install it. There won't be any problems. Guys, don’t start a flood, if someone is wrong, then simply say it to someone with an argument, otherwise the answer to the question turns into a showdown and who, in their opinion, is smarter; in fact, no one answered the question that the person asked. I will say more, the question is on topic, it was not asked correctly, not correctly, I wanted to point this out, but no one understood it. Guys, read carefully

Shove it, don’t worry... I have 15, -42, the springs are sagging at -5. and tires 195/50. Nothing rubs and everything fits like a glove.

Dull VAZ stamped wheels are often hidden behind elaborate plastic caps. And for good reason. Every owner of a VAZ-2110 wants his car to stand out from the mass of gray and black dozens. One of the ways to improve the appearance of a car is deservedly considered to be replacing the wheels. Not many people think that when selecting a replacement disk, you need to take into account not only the number of mounting holes. Today we will look into the bolt pattern of VAZ-2110 wheels and select several options for a simple and bloodless replacement.

Non-standard tire size for LADA Granta

On some cars it is possible to install wheels in the size range R16 or R17. But car owners should be aware that often such a change can only harm the car and worsen its overall quality indicators.

When releasing the Lada Granta, wheels with a diameter of R16 are used only on the Sport version, while the tire size is 195/50. In addition to this size, setting this diameter is possible at 175/50, 185/40, 195/40 and below.

For other Lada 2190 models, specialists and car manufacturers do not recommend installing disks whose diameter exceeds R15. Since it has been proven that the higher this indicator, the greater the risk of disc deformation. Therefore, when choosing new wheels and tires, you should not experiment with new sizes. Tires with dimensions that do not differ from the factory assembly are best suited for the car.

If you really want to

You can install larger disks if you have a great desire and significant savings. The driver, for a fee, can legalize changes made to the design by contacting the State Traffic Inspectorate. This process takes a lot of time, and the car owner will have to deal with large amounts of documentation.

To legalize changes, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Obtain official permission from the State Traffic Inspectorate to carry out activities to change the characteristics of the car. There are no problems at this step, since this document is usually issued to everyone at the MREO department of the traffic police.
  2. Pass the initial technical examination. As a result, the driver will become familiar with the possibility of installing larger rims and tires. You can find out more about organizations carrying out such activities on the official website of the Department of Technical Regulation. If the possibility of a design change is confirmed, the driver will receive an appropriate conclusion and can proceed to the next step.
  3. With the result obtained, contact the State Traffic Inspectorate again and submit an application requesting changes. The car owner must additionally provide an STS, a vehicle passport and his citizen’s passport.
  4. Select and install new larger wheels. At this stage, it is important to make sure that the selected tire center has a genuine certificate for carrying out such activities.
  5. Receive a declaration from the tire shop about the work performed. It should be noted that this is a separate document that should not be confused with the act of work performed.
  6. Pass a secondary technical examination to confirm the compliance of the amendments made with the permitted ones, which were agreed upon during the primary examination. Advice: it is better to take the first and second examination in one place - it is much easier.
  7. Pass a technical inspection of the vehicle at an accredited organization.
  8. Submit the vehicle for inspection to the traffic police and register the changes.

If all these points seem too complicated, the car owner can use the services of companies that will take on all the responsibilities for officially making changes to the design. Such support costs a lot of money, but saves a lot of time.

What is the tire pressure

Tire pressure is a relative value, but for tires of different sizes it should be almost the same. The pressure indicator does not mean the amount of air, but the ratio of air in the tire to its total volume.

According to the factory parameters, the pressure in R13 tires should be 1.9 atmospheres, while for R14 and R15 tires the pressure must be maintained at two atmospheres.

Installing speakers in Granta rear doors

The procedure for working with the rear doors is identical to the front ones. Important difference : homemade spacers are not required here. The plant produces a set of special mounts for installing 13 cm speakers in the rear doors.

Today the market is filled with many different brands and modifications of tires, both for summer and winter. Therefore, when purchasing tires of a particular brand, car enthusiasts only need to know the required tire sizes.

Granta is a relatively new front-wheel drive car, developed by VAZ on the basis of Kalina, and launched into production in 2011. Since that time, along with sedan-type models, the Lada Granta liftback began to be produced. The change of body did not affect the tire size, unlike the Sedan Sport modification.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the parameters of the tires used on these cars, and also present a small selection of models for winter and summer.

Basic tire sizes

In principle, to find out what size tires can be installed on a Lada Granta, just look at the passport or at the plate on the inside of the car door.

Nevertheless, we present to your attention a list of parameters that the manufacturer declares using the example of modifications for the 2022 release:

Tire pressure

We found out which tires are suitable for the Lada Granta - now we’ll figure out the pressure. A lot depends on it during the operation of tires, the purchase of which is one of the sources of expense for any car owner. The pressure must be constantly monitored to ensure that the tires do not wear out too quickly.

Premature wear occurs when there is insufficient pressure, but over-pumping is also fraught with consequences.

  • If the pressure is regularly lowered by 0.5 Atm less than the norm for 14 radius of 1.9 Atm in the front, and 2.0 Atm in the rear, the tires will last 4 times less - plus fuel consumption increases.
  • With an even greater lack of pressure, the car may lose control and the braking distance increases.
  • If you drive for a long time on half-flat tires and then inflate them, the tire may simply explode.

Therefore, you need to have a pressure gauge on hand, take measurements from time to time (especially in winter), and if you need to pump up the wheels. The front and rear pair of tires should have the same pressure.

Specific indicators depend on the wheel size. Take, for example, the 195/50 profile, which is one of the replacement options for the LADA Sedan Sport. If this is a radius of 15, then the optimal pressure is 2.3 Atm, and at radius 16 you need to pump 2.4 Atm.

Crib

Instead of a conclusion, let's summarize:

  1. You can plug in budget sound into the Grant for an amount of 20,000 rubles or more.
  2. Podiums in the front doors = impossible to open the glove compartment.
  3. 16 cm speakers in the front doors - cut the metal of the door or prepare spacers with the factory facing of the speakers.
  4. The acoustic shelf covers the ISOFIX mounts.
  5. Audio preparation pulls wires only in the doors.
  6. Article numbers for ordering speaker covers and mounts are in the “Installing speakers in rear doors” section.

Selection of tires by model

Knowing the size of the “shoes”, all that remains is to choose the style. Any car should have two sets of tires: winter and summer. Winter tires are installed without waiting for frost, but when the thermometer regularly drops below +5 degrees.

To save on the purchase of winter tires, some drivers make the mistaken decision to drive all-season tires. Therefore, we will make a small digression and explain why this should not be done.

When and what tires are needed for a car?

Let’s say right away that there are no tires that behave stably in any conditions. Why then is the tire called all-season? Because of the tread, which must have a deep relief and grooves through which water, dirt, and slush can easily pass.

All-season tires are tires that are comfortable to drive in the off-season, when the air temperature varies from +7 to -10 degrees. It is often marked M+S (mud/snow), which confuses many.

But in fact, an all-season tire is a summer tire and is not suitable for year-round driving, even in the southern regions of the country.

  • All mud tires, and all winter tires, have an all-season tread. The only difference is in the rubber composition, which is designed for positive or negative wheel operation. On a winter tire, for better grip on icy roads, many thread-like sipes are made, which distinguishes it from all-season tires.
  • Studless winter tires are popularly called Velcro. On such tires, the car feels great in icy conditions, but when the temperature outside is consistently positive (above +6-7 degrees), it must be changed to summer shoes.
  • Winter tires are much softer, so if you try to drive them in the summer, they will wear out quickly. Studded tires are better suited for driving on snow, so when in winter you have to drive not on cleared asphalt, but on a country road, it is better to give preference to studded tires.
  • All year round, all-season vehicles are driven mainly by trucks and buses, on which changing wheels is a labor-intensive process, and besides, there are usually more than four of them. True, in severe frosts and snowfalls they have a hard time riding on such tires.

And another important factor is for those who spend a lot of time driving. A tire for winter use is much softer than a summer one, but it is also noisy when driving, especially the studded one.

The summer one, and it is also an all-season one, in severe frosts “steals” and just rattles. And this is not to mention the fact that you will not so much ride on the ice as perform figure skating.

How can I find out about the disk parameters myself?

The technical passport of a particular car contains information not only about what factory wheels it has, but also contains instructions for installing them. If this useful guide is not nearby, then you can arm yourself with a ruler and visually determine the characteristics of interest.

If you need to choose 15-inch wheels, you must have knowledge regarding such parameters.

Armed with the above information, even an inexperienced owner will be able to select a suitable set of disks, thereby replacing the factory disks.

The next thing to consider might be the type of 15-inch wheels you plan to purchase. Let us remind you that these products are forged and cast (we do not take into account stamped ones). Here the main criterion will be the owner’s budget.

Winter tires on Lada Granta

Now let's see which winter tires to choose for the Lada Granta:

Viatti Brina Nordico

A relatively new model, developed by the German Continental together with Italian engineers, and put into production at the facilities of the Nizhnekamsk tire plant.

An asymmetrical tread pattern, a combination of middle blocks with rows of studs along the edges and variable sidewall stiffness technology ensure safe movement and stability when cornering and when crossing uneven roads.

Toyo Observe Garit G3-Ice

Winter tires from the Japanese Toyo are deservedly considered one of the best. If previously only sellers and those who drove it knew about this, then a test carried out at the test site not so long ago left no doubt.

Observe Garit G3-Ice tires competed with the Finnish Hakkapeliitta-7, slightly inferior to it in snowy areas and taking the lead on the compacted track. Experts believe that the whole point is in the studs, which protrude beyond the surface of the tire by 1.2 mm more than normal.

Goodyear UltraGrip 600

Another new product. Atypical tread pattern - as is the case with all Goodyear models. Looking at it, you get the impression that a solid wheel is simply cut into grooves. They provide the tire with excellent handling in loose snow.

Another distinctive feature is the hexagon-shaped studs, which make it possible to quickly accelerate and brake safely.

Hankook W429 i Pike

Winter studded tires of different generations from the Korean manufacturer Hankook have long established themselves as an excellent combination of price and quality. The latest model has been slightly redesigned; the shape of some tread elements has slightly changed, although the symmetry of the pattern and directionality have been preserved.

Massive blocks on the sides replaced narrow ribs, and the tire began to work better in icy conditions.

Wheel caps installation instructions

Before installing the wheel covers, make sure that their size matches the size of the rim (Figure 1). Information about the rim size can be obtained from the markings on the tire.

Point 1. First you need to thoroughly clean the inner surface of the disk from dust and dirt. If there are significant deformations of the wheel rim, they must be eliminated by straightening.

Step 2. Align the valve notches on the cap and spacer ring (Figure 2). The bend on the spacer ring should be facing towards the wheel cover (as shown in Figure 3a). Carefully fix the spacer ring into the specially designed grooves located on the inside of the wheel cover latches.

Point 3. It is necessary to adjust the diameter of the spacer ring by compressing it at the valve location if the cap fits tightly (Figure 4 a), or by stretching it when the cap fits loosely (Figure 4 c). Correct adjustment of the diameter of the spacer ring is the main secret of reliable fastening. The small diameter is the main reason for the loss of the cap (after all, it does not sit tightly in the disk). An excessively large diameter becomes one of the reasons for clip failure due to the inability to insert it into the disk.

When adjusting the size, do not try to change it too much; 2-3 mm along the circumference can greatly affect the reliability of fastening

Step 4. Attach the wheel cap to the bottom of the rim so that the hole coincides with the air valve (thanks to this, the cap will be installed correctly the first time), hold it with your knee, and carefully insert the remaining fasteners into the wheel rim. Press the two upper latches with your fingers towards the axis of the disk (Fig. 5) and at the same time press them inside the disk, pressing the wheel cap all the way around the disk. It is convenient to hold the lower part of the cap with your knee (Fig. 6).

The trick is that if the upper latches are not directed inside the disk with your fingers , and the spacer ring is in a tense state and tries to push them out, then you risk breaking one of the fastening clips . Clips break much more easily in the cold, so in winter, we recommend installing them in a warm garage. If there is no “warm installation” option, simply warm the hoods to room temperature in the room before installation.

Point 5. Make sure that the wheel cover is seated around the entire perimeter (Fig. 7)

Removing hubcaps from wheels

To dismantle the wheel covers, you need to insert your fingers into the holes on the wheel cover and remove them from the disk with a sharp movement. If the wheel cap sits firmly enough through the holes, you can pass a piece of rope or cloth and also remove the wheel cap with a sharp movement.

Now that you are an installation expert, it's time to choose the right wheel trim model.

The best models for summer

Now let's present several worthy summer models:

Bridgestone Ecopia EP150

The tread of this Japanese tire is developed using a new technology (NANO-PROTECH), which makes it possible to reduce the coefficient of rotational resistance and, as a result, save fuel consumption. Plus, the EP150 turned out to be lighter in weight and almost silent.

Nitto NT860

Another Japanese tire produced in Malaysia. Very soft rubber, perfectly balanced and brakes, thanks to the deep tread, self-cleaning from dirt and snow. With all this, the best thing is the low price.

Kormoran Impulser B2

Serbian Kormoran was developed using Michelin technology. The tire is stable when driving at speed, does not “float” if it gets into a puddle, has excellent grip on the road and is controlled when cornering.

Matador MP 47 Hectorra

The new generation summer tire from Slovenia MP-47 Hectorra performs excellently on both dry and wet surfaces thanks to its asymmetrical pattern with four deep longitudinal grooves.

Tread elements are optimized to the maximum, which improves acceleration and braking efforts and reduces noise levels.

Which winter tires are best for a car, or what to put on it for the summer, is, of course, up to the owner to decide. It all depends on what climate zone you have to use the car and what roads you drive on. And our information is designed to understand the characteristics of certain models and the advisability of their use.
