There are legends on the Internet that many seat models fit the VAZ 2110 without any modifications at all. But in fact, without any special modifications, you can only install Recaro from old Opel. All other options will have to be redone and digested. There are also arguments that this is not a safe process at all and could lead to disaster. Let's draw a definite line under all that has been said and give specific recommendations so that nothing bad happens:
- you will still have to weld the slides on the seats, but you don’t have to do it yourself, it’s better to order this work from a good welder, maybe not even a car mechanic;
- after welding, no further alterations are needed if you have chosen the seats correctly, that is, you have not bought too wide or high seat options because of beauty and cheapness;
- it is more difficult to change the rear sofa due to its rather specific size, but there are model options on the market with identical widths; you just need to look for offers at a disassembly site;
- you can keep all the functions of the seats from the foreign car - height adjustment, lumbar support adjustment, electrical adjustments (but they will have to be connected separately from the wiring);
- The conversion is not only possible, it is really worth it, since AvtoVAZ does not install the best seats, with the only exceptions being Vesta and X-RAY.
These are the conclusions that can be drawn from installing foreign-made seats on a VAZ 2110 car. This is a good idea that should result in positive emotions during the trip. In almost any foreign car, the seats are much more comfortable than in domestic cars. It makes no sense to install seats from Kalina or Priora in the Ten, you won’t feel a significant difference, and you’ll still have to struggle with modifications. So it’s better to find a good foreign car.

Pricing policy for seat reupholstery
The pricing policy for car seat reupholstery at a service station is often not fixed for all cars, but rather individual. It all depends on the number of seats that can be covered, on the parts of the seat, on the material, as well as on the production of the car and its brand.

At the service station they will do everything correctly and in the best possible way, but if you want to dream up your own imagination, or simply finances do not allow it, then you can make car seat covers with your own hands. Although it will take a lot of time and effort to reupholster the seat, it is worth it. And if you don’t want to do anything yourself and the thickness of your wallet allows you to splurge, then you can completely rely on the service station simply by indicating the desired color and material of the future covering for the car seat.

Refurbishment or not
Some may consider this a refurbishment, but I think not. I installed the seats on the Grant from a foreign car in the standard places. Skids without welding, also with 4 attachment points. Therefore, the reliability and installation method have not changed. And I doubt that it will be noticeable.
I ordered covers for the front seats and armrest.
It is secured with 3 screws. You need to unscrew them and install the armrest on them.
The armrest mounts fit well, everything fit together. Does the armrest interfere with the handbrake? If you fold it back, you can freely grab the handle with your hand. If you lower it, then using the handbrake is not so convenient. The height of the armrest turned out to be slightly higher than the gearshift knob.
Installation of covers
They sent me the covers that I ordered only for the front seats. Separately for the bottom, backrests and headrests.
I took it from the category of universal covers, since you can order 2 of them, without the rear seats. They cost only 2000 rubles. The material is soft and thick. Quite a budget option. The middle is a little convex, the bottom fits better.
I did everything I planned. I installed the seats on Granta from Solaris, the armrest, and put on the covers.
Step-by-step installation instructions
I'll tell you in what order I worked:
- I unscrewed 2 bolts front and rear in the cabin.
- I pulled out the old seats.
- When installing a new seat from Solaris, I used the second internal hole. A standard bolt was screwed into it.
- The outer runners are a little tight, so I had to put a little pressure on them. But the tension is very small.
The inner runners fit well. The alignment with the original hole is one to one. But I had to put a washer in, since the hole is slightly larger than the required diameter.
The seats stood up like family. They are slightly worn, not new. As a result, the size of the seats takes up exactly the same amount of space as standard ones.
If you measure the distance between the seats, it is a little more than 12 cm. Standard armrests are 12 cm wide, so it turns out that they will be flush. But there is such an accessory from Granta Sport, which is 11 cm wide. I ordered such an armrest and want to install it.
Now the armrest will not interfere with the adjustment of the backrest - there are no twists. They are now on the outside, and not knobs, but levers. This is more convenient - you can quickly recline and fold the seat.
The driver's seat now has a lift that can be used to adjust the height. With minimal lowering, it turns out to be slightly higher than on Grant.
That's why I'm riding in the lowest position for now. The seat belts fit without any problems.

Called a budget station wagon with greater cross-country ability. The body is based on Dacia/Renault Logan. The car was originally adapted for the Eastern European market.

Let's start with the sedan:

“Kalina” is, in fact, a real class B sedan. AvtoVAZ is also produced. Sales of the model began in 2007, although orders for individual requests were received much earlier.

The new body geometry gave the new Russian car an elegant aspiration of lines. This had a beneficial effect not only on the outside, but also made it possible to significantly reduce the resistance of the AED. The ratio is now 0.36, which is more than 6% below the base model. The final model from the Priora family. The body is assembled on the basis of a sedan. In addition, this version has been carefully developed by modernizing the design features of the 11th VAZ model. Thus, this champion received all the advantages of previous versions, losing their weaknesses.
The Priora station wagon will receive about 200 original body elements. Bumpers of a completely different rigidity, fenders of an original and unusual shape, a stylish roof - all this is new for the Russian motorist. The converted trunk holds 777 liters of cargo.
Coupe Priora
A small-sized model from the manufacturer, designed for the amateur. Assembled on the basis of the 5-door 2172. Replaces Lada 21123 from the Lada 110 family.

The cost of transport differs according to the year of manufacture and the innovations received.
When comparing both models, it is worth considering the installed power systems. The data obtained will allow us to determine which is better than Lada Kalina or Lada Granta for city driving and driving along the highway.
Kalina, equipped with an 8-valve engine, produces only 82 hp, and Grant, due to its lightweight connecting rod and piston mechanism, has a power of 90 hp. But, if it breaks, the latter will require expensive repairs from the owner. While the restoration of its predecessor will require lower costs.
The gearboxes of the models are the same, so when choosing Lada Granta or Lada Kalina, you should pay attention only to certain ones. Both cars can be had with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

The only drawback of the Grant is that, after driving several thousand kilometers, the car begins to “crack.” The Grant does not have a sensor that would show the engine temperature. If we talk about safety, the car meets all standards and requirements. Despite these shortcomings, this model is still considered successful. The Granta has an automatic transmission, which cannot be said about the Priora. Priora and Granta have the same high-quality suspension.
But remember that Granta appeared on the Russian car market later, which means its suspension is newer and improved. In addition to all the technical characteristics, the prices of both machines should be compared. Priora is inexpensive compared to Granta. It can be noted as a fairly economical model. Priora is popular among young people. The downside is her stance. Due to the quality of the roads, they simply begin to fall apart. But overall the model is not bad.

DIY car seat reupholstery technology
Reupholstering car seats with your own hands is within the capabilities of diligent and persistent people. Since the average car owner does not have the skills to do this kind of work, everything needs to be done slowly, following proven technology.
Preparing to reupholster the seats
Before you start updating your car seats, you first need to do some simple preparatory work:
- Removing seats. Usually fastening is carried out with 4 bolts, but you must first disconnect the negative terminal of the battery in order to de-energize the security system (airbags). Under the seat, you also need to disconnect the electrical wiring terminals, if any, for example, from the electric seat heating.
- Each part of the standard case is signed with a regular marker. You can also indicate the name of the material that will be used in this area of the cover.
- Removing the standard cover from the chair. To carefully remove the old seat trim, you need to press the metal clips on the back of the chair.
- The old cover is cut at the seams into separate parts that will be used as patterns.
- Material calculation. Now each piece of the old cover can be measured and its area can be calculated. The total area of the material must be increased by 20-40%, which depends on the accuracy of measurements and cutting options.
Making new cases from leather or Alcantara
To make new seat covers you will need some tools and materials:
- gel pen,
- scissors,
- sewing machine,
- foam rubber 5 mm thick,
- glue in a can,
- hammer.
The sequence of actions is as follows.
- Each piece of the old cover is placed on new material and pressed with weights. Use a gel pen to mark with short dashed lines. The marked elements of the new cover are cut out with scissors. When cutting, it is important to take into account such a feature of Alcantara as the direction of the pile. When all elements are combined, the result should be a surface with the same direction of the pile.
- Alcantara and leather are reinforced using fabric-based foam rubber. The connection of the cut parts with the foam rubber is done using glue. You cannot apply the adhesive composition with a brush or roller to the surface of the foam rubber. Therefore, the glue is sprayed evenly from the can.

Removing the rear seat

And so we unscrew the seats and take them home (someone removes the upholstery on the spot, but I think it’s more convenient and easier to bring it home. Moreover, the seats can be easily removed).
Let's move on. Disassembly. For disassembly you will need a Phillips screwdriver (to remove decorative plastic) and a flat screwdriver (to remove the upholstery itself. Some use pliers, but in my opinion a screwdriver is more convenient).
After removing the elastic, you need to either bend or cut the wire holding the upholstery with the foam. The fastening of the upholstery on the back of the front seat is slightly different. On the sides and bottom there is a groove in the groove, when disassembling it is clear without explanation
You also need to remove the headrest guides and the Kalina emblem. The latter is attached through paralon to a plastic crap (I don’t know what to call it) and to fabric with staples.
The upholstery is removed and you can start washing.
