As practice shows, it is much better to make “angel eyes” yourself, since stores sell very low-quality and short-lived products. You can buy a ready-made LED strip and glue it to the inside of the optics with special glue or sealant. But it will still be more effective and brighter if you use an LED ring made of a plastic tube.

The work in this case consists of the following stages:

  1. To begin with, the plastic tube is heated using a hair dryer. This must be done so that it bends well. However, you also need to understand that if the product is overheated, it will become deformed.
  2. After this, use pliers to bend the tube around the can, so you get an even circle.
  3. When the part has cooled, the edges are sawed off.
  4. Resistors and LEDs are assembled using the same scheme. It is important to sand the ends thoroughly.
  5. Then, using a hacksaw, notches are made around the perimeter at approximately a distance of 2-2.5 mm. The ends are covered with foil and a special tube.
  6. Next, the made ring is attached with glue around the optic lens. It is important that the notches are on the inside.

In order to obtain a smooth surface with a minimum of seams after gluing the tape on the reflector, first, pieces of the most suitable shape are formed from several strips. Then remove the protective film and carefully stick it on. The whole procedure takes about half an hour.

Disadvantages: being between the metal foil and the plastic base, epoxy glue lacks air and takes a very long time to dry. It is almost impossible to remove dried glue. Therefore, such a reflector is not suitable for repeated restoration. With the advent of tape foil, this method is practically not used.

Using chrome paint

Headlight reflector repair using chrome paint is the most popular. No need to cut and glue anything. Paint is sprayed onto the degreased surface of the reflector from a can of white chrome until a uniform, uniform layer is obtained. Quickly remove stain
