The manufacturer’s assessment of his brainchild can also be judged by the cost of the product. However, the statement “cheap is never good” is not an axiom. To argue for this denial, let's try to compare two cars of the same price, but with polar configurations - Lada X Ray Luxe Prestige (top-spec Lada X Ray) and its competitor in this class - Hyundai Creta Start (Hyundai Greta Start).
Prestige and dimensions
The popularity and status of Korean cars are gradually increasing. However, it will not work to say that Hyundai is a fashion brand. This company still needs to grow to become the same Germans or Japanese. And yet, the cars of the Korean company have proven themselves to be of good quality and quality.
As for the Lada X-Ray, this model is living proof that AvtoVAZ is confidently moving forward, producing modern cars that can compete with foreign cars. Still, the advantage in terms of prestige should be given to Crete.
Lada confidently steps into the future!
In terms of dimensions of the Lada X-Ray and Hyundai Creta, it is clear that the Korean crossover is superior to its counterpart in many respects.
Dimensions | LADA XRAY | Hyundai Creta |
Length | 4165 mm | 4270 mm |
Width | 1764 mm | 1780 mm |
Height | 1570 mm | 1630 mm |
Wheelbase | 2592 mm | 2590 mm |
Front track | 1492 mm | 1557 mm |
Rear track | 1532 mm | 1570 mm |
Clearance | 195 mm | 190 mm |
Trunk volume | 361 l (1207 l) | 402 l (1396 l) |
Weight | 1190 kg (1650 kg) | 1345 kg (1795 kg) |
However, despite the advantage, we can admit that it is not that great. In addition, the wheelbase of the models is equal, the ground clearance of the X-Ray is 5 mm higher, and the weight of the domestic model is on average 150 kg lower. Also, when comparing, you need to remember that the Hyundai Creta is a crossover, while the XRAY is still a hatchback, but with some SUV features.
X Ray Cross and Duster
Today, Renault Duster represents the greatest competition to the Xray Cross. It's all about the greater popularity of the brand, which undoubtedly commands respect among experienced drivers.
For now, AvtoVAZ still needs to grow to the level of such a production giant with many successfully implemented models all over the world.
I would immediately like to note the large selection of trim levels for both crossovers. Buyers have plenty to choose from for different family or business needs.
Duster offers 5 configurations in different price categories, where the price ranges from 699 thousand to 1 million 67 thousand rubles. X Ray contrasts the same amount, but with a smaller price range: from 729 thousand to 888 thousand rubles. The starting price is approximately the same in both models, but the premium segment is already radically different.
- Xray: larger engine capacity, smaller body dimensions, ground clearance 5 mm higher;
- Duster: larger trunk - 445 liters, has a diesel engine, produced in Romania.
There is not much to say about the similarity of the cars. They differ in many aspects, which is an obvious fact for different manufacturers. Even in terms of wheel size, the domestic product has a larger diameter.
Comparison of technical characteristics
A comparison of the Hyundai Creta or Lada XRay Cross using the example of their technical data, as well as other characteristics and qualities, will help answer this, as well as other questions. The crossover dimensions are compact. The length/width/height of the Korean is 4270/1780/1630 mm, and the Russian one is 4171/1810/1645 mm. The new product is slightly longer than its opponent, which can sometimes be noticed by eye, and the rest of their data is almost identical. But the difference in ground clearance is more significant and is not at all in favor of the updated car. Its ground clearance was only 190 mm versus 215 mm for a domestic car. Therefore, it can have better cross-country ability.
Crossovers are characterized by modern and advanced equipment responsible for safety and comfort. Even a domestic car has more than enough such options. True, an Asian may have a little more of them. But the Russians did not skimp on security. Moreover, such systems in both cases are distinguished by coordinated and reliable operation.
Salon
Korean designers have worked hard on the interior of their crossover. This is noticeable even at first glance. The interior of the Hyundai Creta is more luxurious without causing negative reviews. Renault Captur has a conservative interior. Even after the launch of the new model, there were no innovations from the designers. The only common and, perhaps, negative point is cheap plastic. It will make itself felt in unpredictable winter conditions.
Salon Renault Captur
The seats of both crossovers are similar in shape, although the finishing materials are different, but the workmanship is high. The Korean model has more space in the back, but the difference in performance is not great. There is no center armrest on both cars, and the equipment with pockets and niches is minimal.
Exterior
The fate of the Russian automobile industry has so developed that it has always been secondary in relation to the foreign one. This was the case until recently, when Lada X-Ray cars entered the market, loudly declaring their rights to a place in the Russian sun. Having thrown down the gauntlet to her competitors in the Lada Gretta duel, she boldly came out to defend the honor and dignity of AvtoVAZ.
Having overcome their innate modesty, Russian automakers have created a completely new car with aggressive power. Unstoppable force can be read throughout the appearance of the Russian car, as evidenced by the following elements of its exterior:
- high twenty-centimeter ground clearance;
- fifteen-inch wheels;
- narrow, seemingly squinted headlights;
- chrome moldings;
- powerful radiator grille and air intake merged into one whole.
An impressive rear view completes the promising contours of the new Lata's body. Representing a single composition, all these elements do not leave a competitor a single chance of success.
Greta accepted the challenge, and I must say that she did not remain in debt, the Koreans have gunpowder in their flasks. The appearance of their crossover is no less provocative. In response, they demonstrate the strengths of their car, including:
- seventeen-inch wheels;
- nineteen-centimeter ground clearance;
- plastic door sills;
- powerful radiator grille;
- a perfect external lighting system consisting of low and high beam headlights;
- fog lights.
Despite the fact that the Creta has a less “menacing” appearance from behind, comparing the appearance of the Hyundai and Lada did not bring any noticeable advantage to either one. In essence, the appearance of the car does not in any way affect its driving performance or comfort.
What kind of competitors does Cross have?
There are enough competitors for the Lada Vesta SV Cross. The strongest competitors of the Lada Vesta SV Cross are Western brands, but there are also cars from the USA and South Korea. Despite the abundance of global brands, the Lada Cross station wagon is superior to its competitors in many ways.
Almost each of them differs in that it has been sold on the market for quite a long time. Lada Vesta SV Cross is a newcomer that has yet to prove its worth.
Note: a model from a Togliatti manufacturer in expensive configurations is more expensive than foreign competitors. It seems that a Russian car cannot be more expensive than a French or Korean one, but in the case of the 2180 model from Lada this is so.
Key competitors of Lada Vesta SV Cross:
Renault Duster; Renault Capture; Hyundai ix 35; Hyundai Creta; X-line; Spaceback Skoda Rapid; Ford Focus station wagon.
It is with these models that the latest creation of VAZ engineers can be compared. The reader of the article will receive the most complete picture of what the Lada Vesta SV Cross looks like against the background of its main competitors.

Ride quality, maneuverability and handling
To understand which is better - the Hyundai Creta or the Lada XRay Cross, it is worth assessing their suspension and driving features. The car suspension has a device typical for many crossovers, including MacPherson struts and a multi-link design. In both cases it is of high quality and reliable. But repairing this unit will be much cheaper for owners of Russian-made cars.
Crossovers are characterized by excellent handling and confidence in any driving situation. They ride perfectly on any surface and show a high level of safety, as well as sufficient comfort. They have received a sufficient number of advanced and proven security systems, electronic assistants and other equipment, which gives them these qualities. The cars are also famous for their successful settings of the steering and suspension elements.
Compact cars are designed for urban conditions, where parking them is not difficult even without the help of modern electronics. They are famous for their low fuel consumption and the presence of configurations with automatic transmission or CVT, which makes being in frequent traffic jams more comfortable.
On the track, crossovers show confidence and excellent speed data. Even the capabilities of their weakest engines seem quite good. And with more powerful engines, they are ready to compete even with quite serious rivals. At the same time, the Russian sometimes demonstrates results that are surprising for his data. The roomy Korean is ideal for long journeys, while the rival is somewhat cramped for this.
Despite the fact that the Russian car is not equipped with all-wheel drive, its cross-country ability is very good. This figure is approximately the same for cars. The cars perfectly overcome even significant bumps and noticeable off-road conditions. They are simply created for trips into nature or relaxing in the country.
GROUND CLEARANCE
We already know that the Hyundai Creta is capable of driving over a tire. According to the manufacturer, the Lada XRay has even a little more ground clearance - 195 mm versus 190 for the Creta, so there shouldn’t be any problems. But we will still check - what if someone made a mistake?
During the exercise, the intrigue lasted until the last: the X-ray was caught first by the engine protection, and then by the rear beam, but in the end the tire still remained behind. The Hyundai Creta also slightly hit the defense, but drove through, so both participants get the winning ball.
Hyundai-Creta-Lada-Xray
After the task with the tire, the score is 3:2 in favor of the Hyundai Creta.
Advantages of Lada Xray
The advantages of Lada Xray are not limited to cost, as you might think. Another is the lower weight - 1190 kg versus 1374 for the Creta. The lower the weight, the better the dynamic performance and lower fuel consumption.
If we compare approximately identical engines, the domestic crossover will be better. For example, let's take a 1.8 engine with 122 hp. With. Lada Xray versus 1.6 123 hp engine. With. Hyundai Creta.
Lada accelerates to hundreds faster - in 10.9 seconds, and Creta - in 12.1. Plus, the domestic crossover has lower fuel consumption. It is 6.8 l/100 km on the combined cycle, while the Creta has 7.1.
Specifications
It is this round that is largely decisive in the debate, which is better, Lada X-Ray or Hyundai Creta? Both models offer 2 engines, and none have diesel engines, as well as 2 types of gearboxes. However, there are significant differences in this regard.
Engines
For the domestic hatchback, the line opens with the 1.6-liter, 106-horsepower VAZ-21129 engine, created by AvtoVAZ engineers. The injector and transverse arrangement in the engine compartment provide it with a peak power at 6300 rpm. And the maximum torque of 148 Nm is achievable at 4200 rpm.
The maximum speed is low - 174 km/h, and the dynamics are average - 11.4 seconds. up to a hundred. On the other hand, the fuel consumption of LADA XRAY, even in the city, is only a little more than 9 liters.
1.6 liter X Ray engine
Hyundai Creta responds with its own 1.6-liter power unit, but already 123-horsepower. This is also an injection 16-valve engine that produces peak power at 6300 rpm and its 151 Nm of torque at 4850 rpm.
Despite the advantage of 17 hp. s., in dynamics the Hyundai Creta is worse than the Lada X-Ray - 12.3 sec. when changing hundreds and only 169 km/h maximum speed. Fuel consumption is about the same.
Next comes the top-end 1.8-liter engine for X-Ray - a new development of the domestic concern, although its layout remains familiar to everyone - an in-line engine with 16 valves and 4 cylinders. It already produces 122 hp. With. at 6900 rpm, allowing you to accelerate to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, reaching a maximum of 185 km/h. The hatchback's fuel consumption remains the same - 9.3 liters in the city.
And this is a 1.8-liter AvtoVAZ unit
The Creta can respond with a 2-liter, 150-horsepower engine with a light alloy cylinder block. In addition, there is evidence that in reality the engine is more powerful and produces up to 167 hp. s., however, in Russia its power is indicated at 150 horses in order to avoid overpayment of transport tax.
Be that as it may, it develops maximum power at 6200 rpm, and maximum torque of 192 Nm is available at 4200 rpm. With such an engine, the Creta is almost equal to the Lada in terms of dynamics - 10.7 seconds, with a limit of 183 km/h. But consumption per 100 km is almost a liter higher – 10.2 liters.
Hyundai Creta 2.0, 150 l. With.
As you can see, the engines of the Korean crossover are more technologically advanced and develop more power. However, the dynamic characteristics of the Hyundai Creta are worse than those of the Lada X-Ray. The reason lies not only in the greater mass of the Korean SUV, but also in the higher revs when this same power is achieved. In addition, the Creta's 2-liter engine is paired only with an automatic transmission, so with a manual transmission the results would quite possibly be different.
Therefore, all other things being equal, we can admit that in this round the Lada X-Ray is better than the Hyundai Creta, although the advantage is small. Of course, diesel engines would come in handy, especially in the current fuel realities, but they don’t exist.
Transmissions
In terms of gearboxes, the Hyundai Creta is better than the X-Ray. Both models have a pair of transmissions - manual and automatic. The Lada is equipped with a French-made 5-speed manual gearbox.
5-speed manual Lada X-Ray
The Creta also has a manual transmission, but with a 6-speed one. Of course, some argue that in a car with 123 hp. With. There's no need for a 6-speed gearbox under the hood, but we have to admit that the Korean transmission looks better.
As for automatic nodes, the companies took different paths. The Lada X-Ray is equipped with a 5-band robotic transmission of the AMT type, developed on the basis of the 21826 manual transmission. It was chosen by the plant for economic reasons, since the robot is cheaper than a classic torque converter.
5-speed robot AMT X Ray
The Hyundai Creta is equipped with a full-fledged 6-speed automatic transmission, thanks to which it confidently wins this round. Yes, the robot has its advantages, primarily in maintenance. However, driving comfort with an automatic transmission is undoubtedly higher - there are more gears, and the shifts are smoother. This means that in the question of which is better, the Lada X-Ray or the Hyundai Creta, the Korean is stronger.
6-speed automatic transmission Hyundai Creta
Chassis
In this regard, the Hyundai Creta is confidently in the lead due to 2 points. Lada X-Ray is equipped only with a semi-independent suspension design, with MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear axle. As for the Creta, all its versions, except the top one, are equipped with the same suspension. But the modification with an automatic transmission, a 2-liter engine and all-wheel drive is equipped with a completely independent multi-link circuit.
In addition, the decisive factor is the lack of all-wheel drive on the LADA XRAY. It is because of this that many do not want to recognize a domestic car as a crossover, characterizing it simply as an all-terrain hatchback. Of course, in some situations the presence of a switchable traction control system is very helpful, as demonstrated in one of the episodes of “Okay Mechanics”.
However, switchable ESC cannot replace all-wheel drive. Consequently, the Creta’s off-road capabilities are still higher. As for handling, both cars have it at a high level. The cars hold the road well, do not skid when turning, body roll is small, as is the wave buildup. And yet, the Hyundai Creta is better in driving than the Lada X-Ray, although it cannot be said that the advantage of the Korean SUV is overwhelming.
Engine
Hyundai Greta
Hyundai Creta is assembled with 1.6 and 2 liter petrol engines. with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The motor is equipped with 6 speed. “mechanics”, also with a 6-speed “automatic”, 175 and 180 km/h.
Lada x Ray
The base engine for the hatchback is 1.6 liter. 106 hp forces, top speed 170 km/h, acceleration to 100 in 11.8 seconds.
- 1.6 lit. 116 hp power, manual transmission.
- 1.8 lit. 123 hp power, robot gearbox, acceleration to 100 in 10.8 seconds, fuel consumption - 7.2 litres. The highest speed is 183 km/h.
Maintenance costs
Maintenance costs, as you might guess, will be much cheaper for those who own a crossover from AvtoVAZ. But the content of the new product is affordable for many Russians.
Since cars are quite reliable, with normal maintenance and careful treatment they can last a long time without serious malfunctions. But repairs in any case will be cheaper for owners of domestic cars, although restoring an Asian car will not require too significant costs.
Playing for a fall... and for a decrease
Renault managed to successfully enter the same river twice. Once upon a time, the French presented the most affordable SUV (albeit a compact one), and now - an affordable city crossover. But Capture won’t be resting on its laurels for long. As soon as the first happy customers received their cars, a serious competitor loomed on the horizon - Hyundai is preparing to launch the new Creta.
In general, the trend is clear. Firstly, people want “jeeps” (small ones that can’t drive off-road, without all-wheel drive – it doesn’t matter), and secondly, people want affordable “jeeps”. This means that we will soon see new compact crossovers from a number of players. But marketing accessibility is not a guarantee of a truly low price.
Interior
Both cars are good inside, so it’s difficult to determine which is better – X-Ray or Creta. To a large extent, it all depends on personal preference. The LADA XRAY salon as a whole continues its cocky exterior style. In front of the driver there are deep wells in which the instruments are hidden, and in front of them there is a 3-spoke sports steering wheel.
The design of the dashboard is very successful, without breakable elements, and the ergonomics are well thought out, and the center console is decorated with a large display. The finishing materials, of course, are not standard, but they are quite high quality, and the assembly is at the same level.
The interior of the Hyundai Creta is made in a slightly different style. Everything here is more formal, as is the appearance, which is why some people find this interior style too bland.
A massive dashboard, made of plain black plastic and diluted with metal-look inserts on the steering wheel, air deflectors and near the gearbox selector, hangs over the passengers. As in the X-Ray, there are no problems with ergonomics, and information from the instrument panel is easy to read. The seats are comfortable, the rear bench is also good. However, thanks to its large dimensions, the Korean crossover is slightly more spacious inside than the Russian hatchback.
A clear comparison of Hyundai Creta vs Lada X-Ray is demonstrated in the video
Hyundai Greta or Lada X Ray
Let's watch, participate, empathize!
Well, what do you say, my dears? Just recently, AVTOVAZ could not even imagine in its sweetest dream that its products would gradually begin to catch up, compare and surpass their brothers in the shop. Let it be for a little bit, but!
It’s clear that these are all games called “marketing,” but previously Ladov’s cars were not allowed on this holiday and passed by, so to speak, straight to the people. But now it’s a completely different matter. Renault decided to shake up the mid-segment car market with the help of LADA VESTA/XRAY. And it turns out the same. We are happy to switch to the wonders of the pseudo-domestic automobile industry. Alas, I don’t have anything else for you yet.
The cargo capacity of the Hyundai Creta is 402 liters. The folded parts of the rear seats end up on the level of the trunk floor. This allows you to transport long items, the useful volume increases to 1.28 cubic meters. m. A pleasant discovery awaits you in the luggage compartment. Behind the double bottom there is an additional removable shelf with a full spare tire and tools. Removing the shelf with the wheel significantly increases the capacity of the cargo niche. Both trunk compartments are lined with sound-proofing materials.
The trunk of the Vesta Cross with 480 liters of volume can easily accommodate three suitcases. The door can be conveniently closed using two handles. Compartments are designed for containers and necessary things. The raised floor with spare wheel, nets and recesses increases the capacity of the luggage compartment by another 95 liters. With the flat design of the rear sofa, the trunk capacity doubles to 875 liters.
In terms of cargo transportation, Vesta Cross is in the lead, but with the supports of the salon furniture removed, Creta quickly pulls ahead.
Russian slide
We're going off-road. First we try to climb a steep mountain: whoever climbs higher wins. Again, we already know the capabilities of the Creta: it approximately repeated its previous result shown during the Hyundai Creta-Renault Captur test. Now we try to go up on the XRay: when we roll up closer, we see that there is a small headroom from the bumper to the obstacle. Then we roll back, forcefully engage 1st gear and take a slight acceleration. The result is that the Lada misses the Creta's mark by about half a meter - praise be to the tenacious standard Continental tires!
Lada X-Ray equalizes the score, now it is 4:4.
On the roller coaster, X-ray won one ball back from Creta.
Just like on the “snake”, the Crete again lacked the grip properties of the tires.
SNAKE
On the Hentai snake track, the Creta seemed more assembled in terms of chassis setup; I would have liked more grip from the Chinese tires. There are complaints about the electric power steering - there is not enough feedback around zero at speed, although with active steering it works great. Again the robot played against Lada - on a turn, despite the manual mode, it dropped the gear from second to first, adding two extra shifts. There’s nothing you can do about it: XRay lost with a lag of 0.6 tenths, and the ball goes to the Hyundai Crete. We would venture to assume, based on the numbers, of course, that if Lada had mechanics, victory would have been on its side.
The Lada X-ray - Hyundai Creta handling test is won by the Korean team and takes the lead - 2:1!
Like on the Renault Captur co-platform, the stabilization system on our Lada X-Ray did not turn off.
The Crete's electric power steering feels good in corners, but feels empty on a straight line. However, cheaper versions are equipped with a hydraulic booster, the feedback of which is different; we will still check in which direction.
Comfort and safety systems
For many, the attitude towards the budget segment is a signal of poor equipment. In practice, this is not the case. Of course, you won’t find premium systems here, but everything that ensures comfort and safety of movement is available here. Creta buyers will be offered:
- front and side curtain airbags;
- securing child seats;
- traction control system;
- Cruise control;
- rear parking sensors;
- on-board computer;
- rear view camera, etc.
A similar list is proposed for Lada owners. The exception is curtain airbags. But dynamic cornering lighting appears on the list.
Exterior of Lada X Ray and Hyundai Greta
The appearance of the Lada X Ray did not become a sensation, since the car was already presented at the automobile show in Moscow. A very original crossover, with a nice design and 3 types of modifications. Comparing the production Lada X Rey with its concept, it is immediately clear that the production model is now slightly lower, with streamlined shapes, has the latest optics, but has also retained its general appearance and aggressiveness.
Now the car has better visibility and the mirrors have become wider. During the development of the body of this model, they decided not to press the roof closer to the trunk; now there is more space inside. The front is similar to the Lada Vesta, but with different optics. The radiator grille is made in the shape of an “X”, which emphasizes the aggressiveness of the car.
The new product from Korea is equipped with lensed optics at the front, with halogen lamps installed in it and LEDs at the bottom of the lights. The rear lights are also LED, and parallelograms of fog lights are installed in the powerful bumper at the front. The exterior is very aggressive; elongated teardrop-shaped lights add sportiness to the car. Streamlined lines and a sloping roof towards the bottom at the rear of the car. The car drives confidently both on the highway and in city mode, but despite its excellent equipment, the car does not have cruise control.
What to choose
When deciding which car to choose, everyone is guided by their own considerations. Someone in recent times was the proud owner of a Lada Granta and still cannot forget his favorite liftback.
Someone spends all day searching on the Internet for videos and photos of their beloved little one, who evokes a response and awe in his soul. But, my friends, even though we are all patriots of the domestic automobile industry, and our souls hurt for it, but still, Lada Crete is still a weak alternative.
Wet clay
In the mud, Creta moves confidently, just like last time. But on XRay you need to carefully watch the terrain: a stabilization system that cannot be switched off can choke traction, and the car will not get out of the hole. At some point, Lada was close to failure - she could not get out of the next hole in one go. Fortunately, the robot allows you to get out of such situations by rocking. Since both cars drove without assistance, we award the off-road ball to both.
Thanks to the mountain descent assist system, the Creta can “crawl” over difficult terrain at a constant speed on its own.
At AvtoVAZ, it seems, they overheard our complaints about the non-switchable stabilization system - literally a few days after our test on new cars, the model will become switchable.
After off-road tasks the game was tied 5:5. The winner of the test will be determined in the garage.
Options and prices
Lada X-Ray has 3 trim levels – Optima, Luxe and Exclusive. But Creta offers customers 4 versions – Start, Active, Comfort and Travel. In addition, Hyundai has 4 optional packages - Winter, Light, Advanced and Style, which cost 25,000 rubles, 20,000 rubles, 50,000 rubles. and 75,000 rubles, respectively.
Lada X-Ray in Optima configuration
It is immediately clear that the price of the Lada X-Ray is significantly less than that of the Hyundai Creta. So, the cost of X Ray starts at 599,900 rubles, while for Creta they are already asking 799,900 rubles. The maximum price tag is also strikingly different - 830,900 rubles for X-Ray and 1,224,900 rubles. for the Creta, this does not include optional packages.

PRICE LIST OF HYUNDAI CRETA
As you can see, the difference in price is more than significant - in the base it is about 200,000 rubles, while when comparing top versions it reaches 400,000 rubles, and this does not take into account optional packages! It is worth noting that the configurations are quite generous, although the basic ones are primarily focused on safety, and not on saturation with options.
As for the main question - which is better, the Lada X-Ray or the Hyundai Creta - then the choice must be made directly by the buyer. Yes, the Creta is more prestigious and larger than the domestic hatchback, in addition, the Korean model is precisely a crossover, as it has the opportunity to order a modification with all-wheel drive, and it also has a classic automatic transmission in its arsenal. On the other hand, the more technologically advanced Creta engines are even inferior to the XRAY engines in terms of dynamics and efficiency.
However, the main dilemma will be between the top version of the X Ray Exclusive and the basic version of the Creta Start, because they are almost the same in price. The reason is that when purchasing the starting configuration of a Russian hatchback for 690,000 rubles, purchasing a Korean is not even considered due to the large difference in cost. The same applies to the top version of the SUV - with 1,200,000 rubles, no one will focus on the XRAY.
This means that it will be more reasonable to buy X-Ray Exclusive, since in this case you will receive an extremely “stuffed” hatchback, with a 1.8-liter engine, AMT and a lot of options. Whereas when purchasing a Korean crossover, you will have to be content with a basic engine, mechanics and rather meager equipment, with the exception of a high level of safety. And here the advantage of the Creta in having all-wheel drive, an automatic transmission and a multi-link suspension does not play any role, because for an amount in the range of 800,000-830,000 rubles you can’t get any of this anyway.
Two presenters: comparative test of LADA XRAY Cross and Hyundai Creta for 1,000,000 rubles
To begin with, we note that the Hyundai Creta firmly holds the leadership in its segment.
The car can be purchased with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. And recently the car was restyled, so Koreans can sleep peacefully. But LADA XRAY Cross forces Tolyatti residents to drink sedatives. According to some reports, in 2022 the registration of XRAY family vehicles has dropped significantly. Probably, the situation can be corrected by “fat” configurations, and the model has such. More recently, a special version of the Instinct appeared in the LADA XRAY Cross arsenal, for which they are asking 995,900 rubles, plus 12,000 rubles for a metallic body paint. The total is more than 1,000,000 rubles.
The Hyundai Creta crossover, as you know, also costs around 1,000,000 Russian rubles, which are becoming much cheaper. And since the price tag is the same, why not compare them?
External differences
Externally, the LADA XRAY Cross evokes more sympathy. Eye-catching are the diamond-cut wheels, black side mirror housings and badges with the Instinct inscription. And in general, the X-design suits the car. Let's not forget that the ground clearance of 215 mm and the ability to install steel protection for the engine compartment makes you relax on the primer. And in winter, in loose snow, you can put chains on the wheels, turn off the traction control system, and then the car will turn into a small all-terrain vehicle.
Hyundai Creta has long been familiar to the crowd, so it looks more familiar. It’s not a shame to scratch the unpainted plastics off-road, and the ground clearance of 190 mm, although less than that of the Xray, is also not bad.

Everyone says that the Lada X-Ray is a bad car. I bought it and don’t regret it. Yes, it often breaks down, but which of them (or rather what) doesn’t break down. At least the Lada has spare parts, and they are inexpensive.

Ladushka is my car, I love it, it’s not expensive, and people, don’t be fools, buy frets, they don’t steal them. We all know how the cops look for these horse thieves - nothing.

I wouldn’t buy a Lada for anything, I don’t want to throw money away.
