Installation process

The algorithm for performing work on installing products is as follows:

• Apply paper tape to the place where you drill the holes for installation. It is designed to prevent scratching of the paintwork on the door during fitting. You can also mark the drilling locations on it.
• Unscrew all the studs from the spoiler. Attach it to the edge of the trunk with the central fasteners (they are not removable). It is important to install the part at the boundary between the trunk door and the roof. Do not block the gap between the door and the roof, otherwise the installed product will touch the roof paintwork. Leave equal small gaps on the right and left.

• After fitting, remove the tuning element from the Lada Kalina and start drilling 2 holes in the center. After this, drill them out with a large drill to the size of the studs installed on the part. To prevent the drill from jumping off during operation, make indentations with a nail. Keep in mind that there are 3 layers of metal under the central studs, so when drilling after some time, check that the studs are placed correctly. After drilling through all the metal layers of the Kalina (hatchback), place the element on the body.
• In some cases, the center studs are too short to fit the nut onto. This problem is solved in this way: you drill out the bottom layer of metal of the car body with a diameter of 2 cm. Then tighten the studs using nuts onto the 2 layers of metal that you did not drill out.

Work on the appearance of "Kalina"

1. Apply masking tape to the fender and trunk. This is necessary so as not to spoil the paint when drilling holes, and also for ease of marking.
2. We carry out markings by installing and centering the airfoil. We use a regular pencil or pen. We mark holes for future fasteners.
3. The most painstaking part of the job is drilling the holes. There is no need to rush here. We start with the smallest drill and gradually increase the size until we reach the desired diameter. Usually fastening is carried out with 3.5 mm screws. Under no circumstances should we remove metal chips with our hands. The surface will immediately become covered with scratches. Only blowing is allowed.
4. Use double-sided tape to secure the spoiler to the lid. This is necessary to drill the spoiler through the holes in the trunk. Without this procedure, it may crack when tightening the bolts.
5. We remove all the masking tape and process all the holes for metal burrs. We treat the joints between the air wing and the trunk with alcohol.
6. We place the spoiler on the adhesive-sealant. Starting from this step, a partner is actively involved in the work. We begin docking one by one. First on the left side. The right one is held in the air, without touching the trunk, by a partner. We tighten the bolts, but do not tighten them all the way. We repeat the procedure on the right.
7. Tighten the screws and remove excess sealant.
8. To give the inside of the trunk an aesthetic appearance, paint the screw heads.
9. Let it dry for a day without closing the trunk lid.
