The car received some technical changes and a slightly updated appearance, but the interior of the car received significant and very interesting changes. Some time ago AvtoVAZ presented the updated Lada Largus FL. The model has received numerous changes, and below we will talk about the main ones.

Advanced equipment

Nowadays, buyers want to see a range of modern equipment, even in budget models. Apparently, AvtoVAZ is aware of market realities, which is why during the update Largus acquired new winter “options” (heated steering wheel, windshield and rear seats), as well as a full-fledged multimedia system with navigation and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay interfaces.

The list of equipment for the basic versions has been expanded to include central locking with remote control. In turn, older trim levels now have rain and light sensors, a rear view camera, cruise control with a speed limiter and a front armrest.

Thus, in terms of equipment, the Largus FL is on par with other modern Lada models, only the car, unfortunately, did not get side airbags.

Light and visibility

The updated model received headlights from the 2nd generation Renault Logan, but in a simple version - without LEDs in the running lights. They illuminate the road brightly and evenly, and changing the lamps is not difficult - access remains good.

The restyled station wagon received side mirror housings with turn signal repeaters from Vesta. They provide better visibility. In addition, the right mirror is no longer blocked by the body pillar.

Plus, the model now has a rear view camera, which has become a good addition to parking sensors. Unfortunately, there is no washer provided for it, and the picture displayed on the display does not have dynamic markings.

Improved ergonomics

The owners remembered the pre-reform Largus for its very unique ergonomics, but as part of the restyling, Russian specialists worked on the mistakes. Now almost everything in the cabin is in its place.

On a restyled car, the seat heating buttons are located in the lower part of the center console, and next to them is the heated windshield. In turn, the power window keys “moved” to the doors. The steering wheel is now multifunctional, with convenient buttons for controlling music, cruise control and speed limiter.

However, there are still some ergonomic miscalculations. For example, the joystick for adjusting the mirrors is still located under the handbrake, and the display of the multimedia system available in older versions is located too low, which is why you have to reach for it, distracted from the road.

Improved sound insulation

As part of the restyling, AvtoVAZ specialists tried to improve the noise insulation of Largus. Moreover, a separate package has even become available for the top-end “Lux” configuration, increasing the level of acoustic comfort in the cabin. His order involves the installation of soundproofing materials in the doors, wheel arches, body pillars, as well as on the floor and ceiling.

As a result, the Largus FL Luxe with the optional package was 1.7-2.7 dB quieter when driving at 100 km/h in fifth gear, and during intense acceleration in third gear, internal noise decreased by 5.1 dB.

Upgraded motor

One of the main innovations of the Lada Largus FL is the modernized eight-valve VAZ-11182 engine, which replaced the engine with the index “11189”. Engineers of the Russian brand replaced almost the entire inside of the engine, using as many as 48 new parts in the design. This made it possible to increase the engine power to 90 hp. (+ 3), and torque - up to 143 Nm (+ 3). The compression ratio increased to 10.5 (+ 0.2).

In the first tests, the updated Largus with this power unit proved to be quite fast and economical. Interestingly, savings here are achieved not only due to reduced fuel consumption, which according to the technical data sheet is 0.3 l/100 km less than usual, but also due to less labor-intensive maintenance.

Thus, the first adjustment of the valves of a modernized engine should be carried out only at 90,000 km. According to the developers, this will allow car owners to save approximately 5,000 rubles per year.

As an alternative, the model can be ordered with the same 106-horsepower engine. The latter is known for requiring a lot of time to break in (more than 1,500 km).

Asceticism

Largus's main and most obvious drawback is his deliberate asceticism. The interior has not changed a bit since the first generation Renault Logan. The list of options contains only the necessary minimum, although today more and more buyers want to see some extras in it, such as additional heating, advanced multimedia, and electronic assistants. Largus is only able to offer heated front seats, a single-din radio, ABS and rear parking sensors. There are only two airbags, the air conditioning is manually controlled.

From the outside, the Lada Largus looks more like a slightly improved truck than a civilian passenger car. The situation is partially saved by the body kit of the Cross version. The long-promised automated transmission also never appeared, as did the 1.8 engine. Commercial versions have no use for them, but many people buy Largus as a family station wagon and drive it to work every day. There are also plenty of mistakes in terms of ergonomics. If AVTOVAZ had corrected at least some of these problems, the popularity of the car would have immediately increased. Let's see what the upcoming restyling will bring to Largus.

The premiere of the pseudo-crossover Lada Largus Cross, according to tradition, took place at the end of August - within the framework of MIAS-2014, they promised to release the “all-terrain Largus” for sale by November of the same year, but in fact its sales started only in February 2015.

In December 2022, AvtoVAZ employees declassified a restyled car online (all details appeared only in February 2021), which became prettier in appearance, received a more modern and ergonomic interior, and also acquired new options not available before.

It will not be difficult to recognize the Lada Largus Cross against the background of the base model - the all-terrain vehicle “shows off” armor made of unpainted plastic around the perimeter of the body, a radiator grille with a honeycomb pattern and 16-inch alloy wheels of a unique design.

The length of the Cross modification of Largus is 4470 mm, and its width and height are 1756 mm and 1682 mm, respectively. The car's wheelbase is 2905 mm, and its ground clearance is 195 mm.

Interior

There are no global changes in the interior compared to a regular station wagon; the designers only carefully introduced contrasting inserts of bright colors (yellow or orange) on the front and door panels, and also added colored stitching on the seat upholstery and mat edgings.

Otherwise, the car completely replicates the basic Largus, including in terms of cargo-passenger capabilities: it can have a five- or seven-seat trunk layout, and its trunk volume varies from 560 to 2350 liters in the first case and from 135 to 2350 liters in the second.

Specifications

For the Largus Cross pseudo-crossover, only one engine option is offered - its role is played by a four-cylinder in-line gasoline unit with a displacement of 1.6 liters, a 16-valve timing mechanism and a distributed fuel injection system.

This engine generates 106 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 148 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm.

Speed, dynamics and consumption

The power unit is paired with a non-alternative 5-speed “mechanics” - this combination allows the car to accelerate to 165 km/h, reaching the “first hundred” in 13.5 seconds and consuming about 7.8 liters of gasoline for every 100 km of mixed driving cycle.

Design features

Structurally, the all-terrain Lada Largus generally follows the standard model - B0 platform, independent front and semi-independent rear suspension (MacPherson struts and torsion beam, respectively), hydraulic power steering, as well as ventilated disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear.

However, the engineers did have a hand in it – the “Cross version” has a modified suspension and increased ground clearance – which should help it jump over curbs and not be afraid of potholes on the roads.

Options and prices

In Russia, the restyled Lada Largus Cross is sold in five trim levels to choose from - Comfort, Comfort Multimedia, Comfort Multimedia Winter, Luxe and Luxe Prestige.

The most affordable all-terrain station wagon will cost from 865,900 rubles, and the list of its equipment includes: two airbags, ABS, EBD, ERA-GLONASS system, air conditioning, two electric windows, heated front seats, an audio system with four speakers, cruise control , heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, and 16-inch alloy wheels.

A car with a seven-seater interior (also in the basic configuration) cannot be bought for less than 892,900 rubles; the version with a multimedia system costs at least 898,900 rubles, while for the most “sophisticated” modification you will have to fork out at least 954,900 rubles.

“Full stuffing” implies the presence (in addition to the above): fog lights, a heated leather steering wheel, rear electric windows, heated windshield and second-row seats, rain and light sensors, a media system with a 7-inch screen, rear parking sensors and some other options.

Today, Lada Largus is produced in three body versions:

For each of these options, the amount of space in the luggage compartment has its own characteristics. It is not surprising that the van has the largest trunk volume. This is due to the lack of a rear seat row (or two), as well as the elongated body and has 5 seats. Official data indicates the amount of usable space in this body version is approximately 2500 liters. This modification of the Lada Largus does not have any additional components or components inside the body, since the primary purpose of the van is to transport large cargo.

In a standard station wagon, which has only five seats, the amount of space in the luggage section is significantly less and is equal to 700 liters. If there is a need to transport large loads, then the owner has the opportunity to dismantle the rear row of seats, and therefore the size of the trunk for luggage increases to 1600-1800 volume in liters.

The seven-seater version (minivan) has the most “modest” trunk. Here the capacity does not “shine”, because 200 liters, exactly the volume of the trunk, is not enough for a “substantial” load. Here the manufacturer met his loyal client halfway and endowed this modification with a simple secret, namely: increasing the trunk to the same 1600-1800 volume in liters is also possible by performing an identical operation to dismantle the stern seats. Here you will need to remove two planting rows.

To be fair, we note that a station wagon is not intended for the systematic transportation of large items, since the body for such purposes must have large geometric parameters. Here, the need for endless dismantling of the rear seats contributes to the inconvenience, although the removal procedure itself is quite simple.

Important! The modification of the Lada Largus van is purposefully equipped with a reinforced suspension, because, as already noted, this particular vehicle among the three Largus is designed for transporting large luggage, with an impressive trunk size. Station wagons cannot boast of this useful option.

Trunk size of universal modifications. Here are some parameters:

• the opening is 920 mm in height and 980 mm in width;
• the height inside the compartment from the bottom to the ceiling plate is 870-930 mm for station wagons and approximately 1000 mm for the van version;
• the width of the internal space of the compartment reached 1000 mm when measured along the plane of the arches, and 1450 mm when measured at the level of human shoulders;
• the length of the section from the opening itself to the backs of the third seating row is 480 mm, and if it is a five-seat version, then 1570 mm (up to the 2nd row);
• If we consider a van, then the length from the edges of the doors to the dividing partition is approximately 1800 mm.

From here we can generate the conclusion that the trunk of the Lada Largus in terms of trunk volume is a very worthy “rival”.
