Automatic transmissions are a new and undeveloped thing for our automobile industry, so Japanese-made automatic transmissions were installed on the Lada Granta and they performed very well. If you compare the Lada Granta with the Samara, which the liftback replaced in the AvtoVAZ model range, the body has become twice as rigid, and accordingly, the model has become safer.

The expansion of the VAZ model line makes future car owners think: which is better - Grant or Kalina? At first glance, these cars have similar parameters. The engines are almost identical, with a slight difference in dimensions.

It must be remembered that the appearance of the new Lado Granta is a step to reduce the cost of the car to attract more buyers. Therefore, when comparing the basic versions, the following differences can be identified:

The development of the Grant was caused by the need to move away from the outdated forms of the Samara, the clumsy hood and bumper. The models were given ergonomics, fluidity, athleticism, and fit. The front part of both modifications is identical: radiator grille, hood cover, optics. The front bumper has niches for installing fog lights, which adds harmony and functionality. In Liftback, the front and rear bumpers are painted in the main color of the car. There will never be a black polymer color like in the Grant Sedan again.

  4. We disassemble the front strut module into its component parts: shock absorber, spring, support bearing, bowl, nuts.
  5. In place of the standard spring, install a new one (short one). Depending on the wishes of the owner, the spring height will be 30 mm, 50 mm, 70 mm.

If the owner does not pursue any specific goals when tuning, it is enough to limit the size to 30 or 50 mm. When choosing the specified parameters, there is no need to replace the standard shock absorber or insert additional rubber spacers under the support bearing mount.

But if you take the richest package, then if you give up the automatic and a few little things, it will be only 50 thousand cheaper than the Volkswagen Polo, Kia Rio or Hyundai Solaris. These cars go much faster and generally look more expensive. And those who can look at the options for themselves on the used market will certainly be put off by the problems and shortcomings of the Lada Granta liftback.
