We choose the Lada Largus package – “luxury” or “standard”

Previously, all AvtoVAZ cars were purchased by consumers mainly in the simplest standard configurations. However, recently, the domestic manufacturer AvtoVAZ, together with the Renault concern, has produced a simply wonderful car - the Lada Largus station wagon. And here the situation has changed radically. There is no longer a question of which version of the Lada Largus to choose, of course, the more expensive and the most modern.

Lada Largus Luxury equipment:

According to statistics, perhaps due to the shortage and hype around this brand, or perhaps due to the fact that the car really has an optimal price-quality ratio, consumers prefer to buy cars that are fully equipped with all possible additional elements.

Initially, AvtoVAZ brought to the market only 113 types of vans and station wagons. And now there are only 30 of the most popular ones left. Almost half of consumers prefer the “luxury” configuration with ABS, power steering, two airbags, power windows and other additions. About 20% of car enthusiasts want to have the “norm” package. The remaining 30% of consumers are satisfied with the “standard” package.

The head of the pricing policy department, Sergey Makletsov, noted that many are interested in purchasing a good car. And the Lada Largus station wagon has no analogues in the domestic automobile industry. And it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to purchase a car of this level for such a price, with simply an ideal price-quality ratio, other than Largus. Prices for such foreign-made cars only start at around 700 thousand rubles, and only for the simplest basic configuration.

You can choose one of the provided Lada Largus configurations

In order to finally decide on the choice of equipment for a Lada Largus car, the consumer needs to understand what they are and what they include. Let's take a closer look at the main options.

Chassis

This is a very reliable element of all cars on the B0 platform, and Largus is no exception. Anti-roll bar bushings and struts that wear out over time are inexpensive and fairly easy to replace. The same applies to wheel bearings, whose service life often exceeds 100,000 km. They are inexpensive and can be replaced by the owner himself if he has the skills to do such work. On average, front suspension shock absorbers last slightly less than 100,000 km. But their resource greatly depends on the quality of the roads and the degree of vehicle load.

All of the above can be applied to the rear suspension. Unless the dependence of the resource of its elements on the load (overload) will be greater.

Largus' "hodovka" is simple, reliable and inexpensive to maintain and repair. For example, ball joints are replaced separately from the levers, which is undoubtedly cheaper than changing the entire lever assembly.

State of the editorial machine

Based on the condition of some interior elements, one can judge the actual mileage of the car. As an example, I will describe how things are going with our editorial Largus, which has covered 120,000 km:

  • The steering wheel has no obvious scuffs or cracks. The coating only slightly shone in the grip areas.

The steering wheel of our Largus is in excellent condition.

  • The gear lever knob is not worn anywhere.

I can’t even believe that with such a mileage there are no obvious signs of long-term use on the controls.

  • The rubber pads on the pedals are a little worn, but the pattern is preserved, and even more so there are no tears.

The brake pedal pad is very durable.

  • The seat upholstery, including the driver's seat, is not worn or torn. The seat profile has been preserved. The filler does not fall out, the springs are intact. There are no creases on the seat.
  • The doors did not sag, closed easily and did not require adjustment. The door trims are in satisfactory condition. The door seals have retained their elasticity and seal openings well.
  • The floor covering of the luggage compartment, not protected by a mat, has lost its presentation.

The pile covering is worn out and looks like a C grade. It was necessary to install a plastic or rubber trough, but it conflicts with the third row of seats.

  • The tailgate does not always close clearly and needs adjustment. Moreover, all seals are in place and have no local wear.

Corrosion on the wing at the chip site develops slowly.

Corrosion on the wing at the chip site develops slowly.

  • There are small chips on the wings and the edge of the hood, which, of course, are slowly turning red, but this happens quite slowly. There is significant paint peeling on the lower part of the threshold, covering an area of about 10 square meters. cm, and no corrosion is observed.

French roots

In the aftermarket, they advise buying a more powerful motor, and not only because of the dynamics. It’s just that the 8-valve engine, even though it is cheaper to maintain, the previous owners had to turn it harder, which affected the service life. Some cars had difficulty starting cold. Someone complained about “dancing” idle speed and failure of the rear engine mount even at short runs. But this can all be solved. But valves with pistons are readily encountered when the timing belt breaks. For some reason, the manufacturer gives the belt a chance to run up to 120 thousand km, although in good faith they should be changed almost twice as often. However, there are no serious problems with the engines, and this is good news.

The transmission is no frills, only five-speed manual. The gears are “short”, so you won’t be able to accelerate particularly well on the highway. Cruising speed is 110 km/h, faster it is already uncomfortable and noisy. By the way, the gearbox is available for relatively inexpensive “tuning”, when without dismantling you can make the fifth gear “longer” by replacing its gears with modernized ones.

Problems noted with body metal and paint. But the main problem is not corrosion, but paintwork, which can break off in pieces. When buying a car, you should carefully inspect the sills, door edges, the inside of the trunk doors and the engine compartment. There are minimal complaints about the salon, since it is frankly budget-friendly and devoid of any ambitions. But there are a lot of failures in electronics and electrics. The French roots of the car are evident. One of the main weak points is the diode bridge of the generator, if it is faulty the car will not start.

Largus is a bargain and stays in price for a surprisingly long time

Car with HBO

The experience of operating a gas-powered car in our publishing house has shown that installing LPG without modifying the engine reduces the engine's lifespan. Once we completely disassembled such a motor and carried out professional diagnostics. A mileage of 80,000 km on gas fuel leads to noticeable damage to the exhaust valves and their seats. Engine specialists claim that with further operation on gas, after another 80,000 km, loss of tightness of the exhaust valves is inevitable.

So I don’t recommend purchasing a Largus converted to gas. Firstly, when installing gas equipment, they most likely saved on engine modifications, and therefore its service life was noticeably reduced. Secondly, it is difficult to find a car with a legal modification. And thirdly, we must not forget that most often cars that are expected to travel long distances (in the same taxi, for example) are switched to gas. Therefore, Largus on gas with low mileage is a rarity. And if you managed to find one, then there is a high probability that the mileage was twisted.

Gas equipment eliminates the main advantage of Largus - a spacious trunk.

Lada Largus RS015-41-02L “norm”

This is a seven-seater Lada Largus station wagon. Recommended selling price is 431,000 rubles. The package includes the basic version RS015-41-000, as well as aluminum wheels without hubcaps; fog lights; luggage rack on the roof lining; radio package; heated front seats; stretch luggage rack and air conditioning.

The choice is yours - choose the package you need

Based on the foregoing, we can conclude that many configuration options for the Lada Largus car almost completely duplicate each other, with only minor differences. Some versions are additionally equipped with air conditioning, fog lights or heated seats. Everything here is not for everyone. It turns out that every car enthusiast should choose the appropriate configuration of the Lada Largus based on their own tastes regarding interior design and requirements for comfortable driving.

Who is the seller?

Largus appeared on our market six years ago, which is not very long. Therefore, finding a copy with one or two owners is quite possible. A larger number of owners in most cases means that the technical condition of the car was not properly monitored.

Who might have previously owned Largus? Let's consider the options...

Largus is purchased by poor private owners with large families as a cheap alternative to a minivan or seven-seat crossover. In this case, annual mileage, as a rule, does not exceed 15,000 km. Maintenance is often regular, and in general such a Largus can even be a family favorite.

The second option is a small team of installers of some equipment or just electricians, for example. The long roof is ideal for carrying a ladder, and the trunk will fit all the necessary tools. People earned money, and Largus served as a means of delivering it to the client. Annual mileage in this mode can be up to 30,000 km.

The worst, third option, is when Largus was forced to earn money for his owner through backbreaking labor. In many regions, these cars are used as taxis - their mileage sometimes exceeds 500,000 km. Life is not easy for the vehicles used to deliver goods. And although the car has long paid for itself, its owner will still prefer to eliminate visible traces in the interior, from which one can conclude about the difficult fate of the car, and sell the Largus at a higher price.

There is only one piece of advice - try not to buy a car from owners of the third type. And, of course, try not to run into a reseller who passes off an old and sick workhorse as the pet of the whole family. Otherwise, the car will have to be repaired more often than driven.

The mileage should not be too high, preferably no more than 100,000 km, and then the car will travel the same amount without any problems with the engine, transmission and chassis. By the way, contract engines and gearboxes are relatively inexpensive. The usual price range is 70 and 25 thousand rubles, respectively.

Largus taxis work more often in the regions. Both capitals neglect this roomy and comfortable car.

It is also advisable to look for a car with a transparent service history. Maintenance at Lada dealerships is not very expensive. Therefore, I advise you to take a closer look at a car that has been serviced by professionals for at least the first three years of warranty.

What is the fuel consumption

We’ve sorted out the technical parameters, let’s see what the fuel consumption is for each of the power units. For better understanding of this topic, information will be presented in a table.
