Previously, there were rumors that the track of the front and rear wheels on the new car would differ by several centimeters, but in the end this information was not confirmed. The ground clearance of the Lada Vesta is an impressive 178 mm, while the Cross version will have it at 203 mm, which is quite comparable to modern crossovers.
The trunk of the Lada Vesta has a volume of 480 liters and deserves special attention. If necessary, the rear passenger seats can be folded down to increase the usable trunk volume. The low rear bumper line makes loading and unloading easier, and the boot lid could be more modern and usable. Yes, it can be opened from the key fob or from the interior, but the lid opens on regular hinges with springs, and not on a lever system, like some competitors.

In the manufacture of the body of the new Lada, exclusively high-strength steel alloys are used; it was decided to do without aluminum and other expensive materials, which are popular in the modern automotive industry. Let’s consider only the recommendations from the Lada Vesta Cross operating instructions.
AvtoVAZ recommends filling the 1.6 Lada Vesta Cross engine with motor oils with SAE viscosity:
5W-30 5W-40 10W-40 15W-40
5W-30 and 5W-40 oils are well suited for use in cold regions, while 10W-40 and 15W-40 are only suitable for use in warmer months or hot climates.
If the car is new, then it is also permissible to use oil with a viscosity of 0W-40. Especially if such a car is operated in a cold climate. This option will ensure good fluidity of the oil and its rapid flow to the rubbing parts.
There is also a second parameter by which you need to choose engine oil. This is a quality class. It can specify by API or ILSAC. In our case, it is recommended to use API SM and ILSAC GF-4 or higher oils. Anything that is of a lower class will not suit us.
Technical characteristics of the 1.6 liter engine. and 106 hp
Initially, the Lada Vesta is equipped with a 106-horsepower VAZ engine with index 21129 and a volume of 1.6 liters. Peak torque is 148 Nm. The engine can be combined with either a five-speed manual transmission developed by the Alliance (later replaced by a domestic one) and produced by AVTOVAZ, or with an AMT “robot”.
The declared fuel consumption for a car with a manual transmission in the combined cycle is 6.9 liters, in the city - 9.3 liters, on the highway - 5.5 liters. On the “robot” 6.6 l., 8.9 l. and 5.3 liters respectively.
Later, in addition to the sedan, the LADA Vesta family will also include a hatchback (cancelled) and a station wagon, as well as an all-terrain version of the Lada Vesta Cross, the production of which is planned for the second half of 2017.
