The gearbox is a vehicle component that is subject to quite heavy loads, since a powerful power moment from the engine to the wheels is transmitted through rather small gears. Therefore, for long and trouble-free operation of the gearbox, you need to change the oil in a timely manner, and at the same time do not forget about its quality and compliance with the technical parameters of the car.
First of all, the technical characteristics of the “transmission” must meet the requirements of the manufacturer. Secondly, when changing the oil, you need to take into account the climatic conditions of the place where the car is used, as well as the driver’s driving style.
In this article we will look in detail at the question of what is the best oil to pour into the gearbox of a Kalina. Lada Kalina cars are equipped with 2 types of gearboxes - “mechanical” and “automatic”. Each transmission option has its own requirements for the amount and standard of oil poured.

I filled it with ZIK semi-synthetic, I don’t remember the numbers, a friend of mine recommended it, the box started clicking like new)
I changed my Castrol from new for the first time to 80 thousand and filled it with Castrol again, no problems
I filled it with Mobile 1 synthetic. I don’t see any point in bothering about the cost, because... replacement is very rare
I tried Castrol, (in the BZ there is) Zik 75w90, and Lukoil PS. When draining Lukoil, the oil was somewhat cloudy, Castrol and Zik were transparent, but it seemed to me that the transmission was noticeably quieter on Castrol. But tsuko is expensive (
Castrol blue 75w90, before that LM semi.s, Onion mineral water. I like it on Castrol for the 3rd year.
I was also puzzled by this question. For now I’m leaning towards Lukoil TM-4 75w-90 semi-synthetic. I read a thread on the Lada Kalina forum with the same question. They write that it is working itself out. And AvtoVAZ itself recommends it. Well, does it make sense to pour more expensive? Everyone decides for themselves. The choice of oil does not in any way affect the howling of the box and the trolley performance.
The transmission is one of the most complex systems in a car. Most of the parts are moving; during operation, friction is created, which increases the temperature. The gearbox must use oil to lubricate and remove excess heat, preventing the transmission from overheating. In automatic transmissions, the lubricant acts as an additional working fluid, transmitting torque from the engine to planetary gears.
Results
As a result, we can say that the modern Russian market offers a wide range of transmission oils for any car. Among all the products, it is important to choose exactly the lubricant that is ideal for you. After a little comparative analysis, or by trusting the opinion of the majority of motorists, you can easily make the right choice. When purchasing, you must take into account the certification of the product. This is very important in order to be confident in the quality of the purchased oil.

Topping up and changing gearbox oil
Any oil in the Kalina gearbox consists of a base and various additives. As work progresses, the original properties are gradually lost, additives are produced, and transmission parts are left without protection. In a working gearbox, the temperature can be more than 100 degrees; old lubricant with used additives loses its lubricating properties and foams.
Used oil is not capable of creating a protective film on rubbing parts; overheating causes carbon deposits to form, which begins to interfere with normal gear engagement. You can determine that it’s time to change the lubricant by the characteristic hum from the box - over time, it will develop into destruction of the gear teeth, and the gearbox will fail. Kalina has a cable-driven gearbox, so it makes less noise. The same effect will occur if there is not enough oil. The gears are difficult to engage, and the main drive and gears begin to scuff. The car simply will not be able to move.
You need to think about replacement if there are signs of moisture and metal particles getting into the transmission from damaged gear teeth. With such symptoms, the correct operation of the gearbox is disrupted. This will be indicated by a series of different sounds. If you hear a grinding, howling, humming, or crackling noise while shifting gears or while driving the car, this indicates the need to change the oil and eliminate existing faults. The lubricant should be changed after inspecting the oil level dipstick - if the working fluid in the gearbox is black and there is a burning smell.
The manufacturer of the Lada Kalina recommends changing the lubricant when a certain mileage is reached. The gearbox is a fairly durable unit, the optimal mileage from one replacement to another is 60,000 km, although AvtoVAZ recommends changing the oil at intervals of 70,000 km.
Only a special transmission product with the correct viscosity and markings for manual or automatic transmissions should be filled.
Useful tips
The first and most important recommendation is not to use mineral compounds when operating the car in low temperatures. This type of oil tends to thicken, as a result of which the gearbox gears do not receive proper lubrication and lock up. This is due to the fact that the viscosity of the frozen composition does not allow them to work correctly. It is advisable to use such a liquid only in areas with a constantly warm climate.
Periodically check the oil level in the box. It won't take too much time, but at the same time you will be sure that one of the most important components of your vehicle is working correctly. If you notice that the lubricant is leaving or leaking, immediately contact the service for diagnostics.
There are a large number of gearbox fluids on the market that meet the listed requirements. When choosing a specific oil, the owner of a Kalina car will be faced with the question: is the use of an expensive imported product justified or for a domestic vehicle the best option would be a cheaper Russian-made fluid.
The answer from experts is clear: foreign-made oil is much more effective. By using the Hessol product, made in Germany, you will receive:
- Noticeable noise reduction.
- High precision and softness of the box operation.
- Significant increase in gearbox life.
You can often come across the opinion that the factory fluid should be replaced with an imported one immediately after purchasing a Lada car. This is due to the unsatisfactory performance of the manual transmission, which was noted by the owners of the Kalina, released in 2013. Having received a large number of complaints, AvtoVAZ sent the gearbox for modification and, starting in the summer of 2014, a number of gearbox deficiencies were eliminated.
Selection of oil for manual transmission and automatic transmission of Lada Kalina
There are many types of lubricants, including for Lada cars. To choose a quality product, you should follow some recommendations:
- Take into account the manufacturer's requirements. The operating manual clearly describes the parameters by which transmission oil is selected. Viscosity is usually indicated, and, as in engine oil, it may differ for summer or winter.
- When purchasing a used car, you should ask the former owner what product was used. If you used mineral oil, you cannot fill it with synthetic oil without first flushing it.
- The best option is semi-synthetic oil. Similar products are found mainly in Russia and the CIS. Essentially, this is the same mineral lubricant that has undergone hydrocracking. Semi-synthetics can be used after mineral oil.
The choice of gear oil is an individual decision for each car owner. It depends on the mileage, the condition of the gearbox, and the type of gearbox.
Choosing the best gearbox oil
First, you need to take note and understand that for Lada Kalina, as for any other car, it is better to purchase original lubricant - it is more reliable and safer. Particular attention should be paid to this. The fact is that there are now a lot of manufacturers on the market producing counterfeit products. Therefore, it is necessary to approach the issue of changing the oil with special care.
Experienced motorists who are familiar with the Lada Kalina device recommend using THK Trans KP Super lubricant. Indeed, the Lada Kalina gearbox with this oil is noticeably quieter and produces less vibration. You should also use a dipstick and regularly check the fluid level.
Types of gear oil
There are three main types of lubricant:
- Mineral. It is characterized by unstable fluidity, is produced faster and is characterized by mediocre parameters.
- Synthetic. Stable under thermal and chemical stress. It has the longest service life, but the main disadvantage is the high price and increased consumption.
- Semi-synthetic. Something between mineral and synthetic in price and characteristics. Optimal for used cars.
For Lada Kalina, it is recommended to purchase an original lubricant product or its equivalent. High-quality material cannot be cheap. Some car owners do not trust original oils from the manufacturer, but this does not mean that they are of poor quality. Their cost is not as high as that of foreign analogues. For Lada Kalina, semi-synthetic oil from Lukoil has proven itself to be excellent. Judging by the reviews, the car can travel up to 300,000 km without the need for major repairs or transmission replacement.
Checking the oil level and adding oil
To check the oil level in the gearbox, you can use two options, each of which is effective:
- Take out the dipstick that is used to control the level. The simplest and easiest way is that normally the level should be at the maximum level or between the minimum and maximum.
- The second way is to drain the oil from the gearbox housing and measure its volume, then fill it back.
Both are equally accurate, but car owners prefer to use a dipstick - the second method is suitable if the lubricant is being replaced. To begin, place the car on a level surface and wait 10-15 minutes until the oil drains into the crankcase. It must be warmed up. Then follow the algorithm:
- Move the air filter housing to the side so that it does not interfere with operation.
- Near the battery, at the bottom left of the engine compartment, you can see the dipstick ring.
- Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a rag.
- Insert it all the way back in and take it out again.
- Look at the level. If it is less than o, you should add oil and look for the cause of the leak. If the level is between the minimum and maximum o, everything is fine.
If you need to add oil, use a funnel with a long tube that is inserted into the dipstick hole. Checking the level is quick and easy; any car enthusiast can handle this procedure. You only need to add the same lubricant that is currently poured into the gearbox. It is recommended to check the level at least once every three months or every 10,000 km.
The engine air filter should not interfere
The air filter box in Granta and Kalina-2 cars is secured with three rubber stops. It will not be difficult to dismantle them, but first you will need to disconnect all the connectors attached to the box from the outside. You will also need to remove the adsorber valve. And only then, without fear of damaging anything, the plastic box is taken to the side.
The cylinder to which the corrugation is attached is the mass air flow sensor module. This module has one connector. Disconnect it, and it is better to leave the clamp holding the corrugation in its original form.
The result of all the work done looks like this:
The filter box is simply folded back
The steps mentioned above are listed here in order:
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery;
- Disconnect the clip “1” that holds the power wire and disconnect the connector “2” of the mass air flow sensor (Fig. 1);
- Dismantle the canister purge valve. Disconnect the connector with the wires, then use a flat screwdriver to press the spring on the side and remove the module itself from the grooves (Fig. 2);
- All stops holding the box can be easily removed from the slots (Fig. 3).
The connector that needs to be disconnected in “step 2” will not be available in configurations with motor 21127.
Changing the oil in the Lada Kalina gearbox
Owners of Lada cars rarely use the services of car services to replace consumables. It is not difficult and can be done with your own hands. For replacement work, you need to prepare the following tools:
- 17 mm wrench or socket wrench;
- a funnel with a tube (at least 500 mm in length);
- canister of oil;
- container for waste liquid;
- flushing oil;
- jack (required when washing).
Changing the oil in the Kalina gearbox will require an overpass, a lift or an inspection hole. If you don’t have any of this, use a jack - hang it in front of the car and fix it in this position. Before draining the oil, be sure to check its level. This must be done to determine if there is a leak. After this, you can drain the mining:
- after installing the car in the desired position, it should be secured with wheel chocks;
- remove the engine protection;
- find the drain nut on the gearbox housing and place a suitable container under it;
- Unscrew the drain nut with a 17 mm wrench;
- wait 15-20 minutes until as much oil as possible has drained;
- tighten the drain nut.
Before adding fresh product, pay attention to the waste liquid. If it is black, it contains metal particles, dirt, dust, stains, in this case it is recommended to fill the gearbox with flushing oil. It is poured into the box, then the front wheel is hung out, and the engine is started. Next, first gear is engaged, after 5-10 minutes you can turn off the engine and drain the flush, now you can fill in new lubricant without fear. The oil filling procedure is simple. A funnel tube is inserted into the dipstick hole, about three liters of lubricant are poured into the box, after which you need to wait a few minutes, then check the level and top up if necessary.
For better operation of the fifth gear, it is recommended to fill the working fluid to the maximum level. This is explained by the fact that the fifth gear is higher than all the others and lacks lubricant.
Filling with new oil
- Remove the dipstick , since you will be pouring oil through the hole for the level indicator.
- Take a pre-prepared funnel and insert one end into the box.
- Fill in about three liters of gearbox oil. At the same time, check the oil level on the dipstick; it should be between the min and max marks.
Now you need to drive 10-15 kilometers and look at the oil level indicator . If necessary, add the required amount of liquid.
Changing the automatic transmission lubricant
To work on replacing the lubricant on the automated gearbox of the Lada Kalina, you will need a set of tools:
- 8 mm and 10 mm wrenches;
- 17 mm and 19 mm spanners;
- figured screwdriver;
- container for draining waste liquid;
- hose for filling lubricant;
- funnel for hose;
- transmission oil.
As in the case of mechanics, the car must be placed on a level surface and raised on a lift. To do this, you can use an overpass or inspection hole. The gearbox must be warmed up:
- Remove the dirt boot and cover.
- Unscrew the drain nut on the pan with a 19 mm wrench.
- Place a suitable container under the drain.
- There will be an overflow plug under the drain plug; you need to remove it and drain the liquid from the box.
- To change the lubricant efficiently, it is recommended to dismantle the entire pan and clean it. To do this, unscrew the fastening bolts with a 10 mm wrench; the tray is thoroughly cleaned along with the magnets installed on it.
- Reinstall the pan.
Choosing oil
Which oil to choose for the Kalina gearbox? Despite the fact that auto parts stores offer a huge range of lubricants, and there simply cannot be any problems with choosing them for almost any car, it is better to figure out which oil is suitable for your particular car.
The most important detail will be to take into account which oil is the “original”. The use of counterfeits is strictly not recommended.
Even if the seller ardently assures you that the Chinese analogue of your lubricant component is superior in performance to the original, do not listen to him under any circumstances.
Table of suitable oils for the Lada Kalina manual transmission.
And don’t be led by cheapness. Practice shows that the simplest and most inexpensive oils like LUKOIL are very suitable for use. Kalin drivers admit that their car ran for hundreds of thousands of kilometers using this type of oil and did not require much effort during repairs, much less major repairs. Specific types of oils that are suitable for Kalina are as follows:
- "LUKOIL" Trans KP;
- "ROFSNEFT" Kinetic;
- TATNEFT Transyulks TRANSAXLE OIL.
It is also important when choosing an oil to remember that additives are not allowed. Real lubricating fluids already contain most of the components required for proper operation.
Important! “Various types of additives can damage and deteriorate the structural consumable element, and in this case, the entire fluid will most likely have to be replaced again.”
Tools
What will be needed
Now let's take a closer look at what may be required to carry out the oil change process. The current state of affairs shows that almost every Kalina owner is very smart and handy, and rarely goes to repair shops.
This behavior of car enthusiasts is quite justified, because in cars of the domestic automobile industry, all work on changing the oil is quite easy to do with your own hands.
In order for the process to go quickly and to save time, it is better to prepare in advance:
- wrench for 17, or even better, the so-called “scapular” one;
- a funnel and a tube (about 50, but no more than centimeters), which can be bought at any store;
- directly the oil to be filled;
- deep and voluminous container for “working off” (i.e. used oil);
- special flushing compounds for cases where flushing is planned;
- a jack or lifting device, which will be useful when flushing.
Of course, and there is no need to remind you about this, you will need to drive your car onto an overpass or inspection hole. So, let's move on to the process itself.

Changing the oil in our Kalina
Changing the oil in a manual transmission
You should start by checking the transmission fluid level. It is recommended to perform the same procedure at each subsequent oil change. It is recommended to take measurements so that in case of box defects (for example, when a significant part of the used oil has disappeared somewhere, etc.) you can immediately be aware of their presence.
Let's get started. The car is on the inspection pit. The engine is switched off. Open the hood and remove the air filter. We look for the gearbox housing, pull out the dipstick, which serves to assess the presence of oil. The rod is cleaned and then reinstalled until it stops. After this, our dipstick will need to be pulled out again and the level checked.
In our case, the oil level should be between the corresponding o and “maximum” (in other words, in the center). Provided that the level is in order, we put everything back together. Next, you will need to drain the used oil, or “waste oil,” as avid car enthusiasts call it.
So, the car is still on the overpass or pit.
Being already under the car, we remove the crankcase protection, then we find a hole for draining and conveniently install a container where the “working off” will be collected. This is where a 17 key will come in handy, with which we will unscrew the plug insert from the drain hole. In order to allow the old oil to drain completely, you need to wait about half an hour.
After the oil has flowed out, we screw the plug into place, and at this point the draining process can be considered complete. At this stage, one should take into account the fact that if metal inclusions such as dust or other products indicating wear are detected in the drained liquid, it is required and recommended wash using special means.
It is especially important to carry out this process when the “working off” has a pronounced brown color. After draining, you will need to pour a special flushing fluid into the gearbox and lift the car with a jack in such a way as to allow at least one of the drive wheels to rotate. Now we drive the engine in first gear for about 15 minutes.
After this, you will need to remove the flushing liquid in the same way as we previously removed the used oil.
Kalina manual transmission with holes indicated
Let's move on to the most important issue - pouring fresh oil into the gearbox. After the previous stages have been completed successfully, nothing prevents us from pouring a new lubricant component into the gearbox of our Kalina.
When is it necessary to change the transmission oil of a Lada Kalina?
Like any car, Lada Kalina has an instruction manual. In this document, the manufacturer reflects all the procedures necessary to carry out the car, the timing and procedure for carrying out planned work, including regulating the procedure for changing the oil in the box. Until 2011, the procedure for changing the oil in the Lada Kalina manual transmission was not regulated at all; it was assumed that the transmission was flooded for the entire service life of the car. Previously, drivers relied only on their own experience and carried out this procedure on a voluntary basis.
However, since 2011, with the introduction of new standards, the manufacturer nevertheless introduced a procedure for changing the fluid at a mileage of 130 thousand km. However, this period goes beyond the scope of warranty service (5 years or 100 thousand km), so the costs of its implementation fall entirely on the consumer.
In addition, in 2013 the model received a new Japanese-made automatic transmission, which undoubtedly improved consumer qualities. However, the need to change the substance in such a unit is more pressing, given the complex design of the machine. AvtoVAZ regulates replacement of such a unit once every 100 thousand km, but experienced motorists reduce this period by half. This helps extend the life cycle of the box and avoid many problems during operation.
During the production of the model, there were several transmissions on the assembly line with different conditions for changing the fluid in them:
- Mechanical 5-speed gearbox with rocker drive. For this unit, changing the substance is not regulated at all, but it is desirable for mileages of 70 thousand km or more. All types of oils are suitable for such a unit, depending on operating conditions.
- Mechanics with cable-driven shifting. In fact, it’s a similar box, but the factory stipulates that the transmission should be changed at 130 thousand mileage. It is advisable to change the oil on a Lada Kalina with a cable gearbox once every 60 thousand kilometers, regardless of the type of lubricant.
- Robotic box, which is also based on mechanics. However, given the design of the unit, replacing the transmission is necessary at least every 50 thousand kilometers, given the high loads under which the unit operates.
- An automatic Japanese automatic transmission will require an oil change every 60 thousand km, regardless of operating conditions. This unit is considered unpretentious and reliable, however, timely replacement of the substance can extend the life of the automatic transmission beyond the 150 thousand mileage specified by the manufacturer.
A little about oil
The Lada Kalina has a conventional five-speed manual transmission . It has been set since the days of the “nines”. Not long ago, Avtovaz released a VAZ-2180 with a cable drive . Oil is poured into the pan, it does not splash out and is not pumped up by the pump. Lubrication occurs in this way: the gears of the intermediate are dipped into the bath during rotation , thereby ensuring lubrication of the rubbing elements. Transmission fluid also provides heat removal, otherwise the box will quickly overheat . If the gears run dry, a large amount of wear . After this, it accumulates a brown tint over time . Therefore, it is necessary to keep level in the gearbox under control . For this procedure, Kalina has a special probe . If the oil level is below the average mark, it is better not to use , but to add transmission fluid.
What kind of oil to put in the box of Lada Kalina
The best oil for the Lada Kalina gearbox is indicated in the vehicle's operating manual. However, the owner has the right to upload other materials of his choice. At the same time, the plant’s recommendations for brands are based on laboratory research and practical testing of products. There are 3 main types of transmissions on the market, which differ in their composition, viscosity, washing and cooling properties:
- The synthetic substance is the product of a complex chemical reaction with the addition of various additives to improve all functions. Such materials are well suited for changing the oil in the Lada Kalina 2 automatic transmission, given the complexity of the machine’s design. However, such materials are most often counterfeited, which, if low-quality material is used, can result in complete failure of the entire unit and its subsequent replacement. Synthetics have excellent cooling properties, which especially helps the unit maintain its functions in long city traffic jams.
- Semi-synthetic substances are also quite popular, since in addition to their good properties, such substances are cheaper than pure synthetics. Such materials are used on some models by the manufacturer itself. Most often they are poured onto cars after a mileage of 150 thousand km. This oil is suitable for the Lada Kalina Cross box, taking into account its primary use on bad roads and on highways.
- Minerals are most often added from the factory and must be completely replaced when due. This product has mediocre washing properties, but is less fluid, which makes it suitable for use in natural conditions with low temperatures.
What kind of oil is in the manual transmission of Lada Kalina
The gearbox oil for the Lada Kalina station wagon, as for other body types, must meet the standards and indicators specified in the operating manual with the appropriate viscosity parameters and temperature conditions. Many famous brands produce oils that meet 5w40 standards, which are most often used as transmissions for this model.
What to choose for Kalina
If you still find it difficult to determine what kind of oil to pour into the Lada Kalina gearbox, then feel free to choose the products of one of the above manufacturers. So you definitely can't go wrong. The highest quality ones are ZIC and Liqui Moly. Also, you should not take mineral oils if you drive often. It is best to take semi-synthetic or synthetic. This is the most durable option for those who regularly use the car for a long time.
How much oil is in the gearbox of Lada Kalina
The volume of the crankcase and the amount of fluid depends on the design of the transmission:
- In an automatic transmission, this figure is 6 liters, which is due to the very design of such a system. To cool it, an order of magnitude more liquid is required, unlike conventional mechanics; also, when using a torque converter, a high friction force is required, which means there is a large amount of liquid in circulation.
- In mechanics with a rocker, the oil volume in the Lada Kalina 2 gearbox is 3.3 liters. Such units were produced until 2012 inclusive.
- In the modernized cable gearbox of the Lada Kalina, the oil volume in the gearbox was reduced to 2.3 liters.
This data should be taken into account when purchasing consumables.
How to choose an oil
So what kind of oil should be poured into the gearbox of the Lada Kalina? It is simply impossible to give an unambiguous universal answer to this question. There are several criteria that you should pay attention to when choosing.
Mainly attention is paid to price, viscosity, chemical composition, as well as the popularity of the manufacturer’s brand. In fact, everything is not as complicated as it seems at first glance. However, when purchasing, you should pay special attention to the availability of GOST and product certification. This is very important, because if you purchase a product that does not have all this, you may encounter not only low quality oil, but also further deterioration of the transmission.
How to fill the box of Lada Kalina with oil
To fill the liquid into the box, you must use a regular filler neck. The body of the box, regardless of its design, has a special filler neck covered with a stopper. In order to fill in new fluid when changing, it is necessary to unscrew this plug on the gearbox housing in the engine compartment (to the right of the engine) and pour in the new substance through a funnel. During normal filling, no other manipulations are required; when replacing, you must first start draining the old substance.
How to change the oil in a Lada Kalina box
Routine replacements are carried out by official dealers, as well as independently if you have a lift or a garage with a pit, a set of keys, an oil filter and 2 funnels for draining and filling the substance. In terms of its order, the change process does not differ depending on the type of gearbox and is divided into 2 types - full change and partial topping up.
Complete oil change in the Lada Kalina gearbox
A complete oil change on a Lada Kalina with a cable gearbox is carried out in several stages:
- Lifting the car on a lift and measuring the level of the liquid using a dipstick or test plug.
- Drain the used old fluid by unscrewing the drain plug at the bottom of the housing. The average time for liquid to drain is about 1-2 hours, depending on its consistency.
- When working with the machine, it is necessary to open the box body, clean the seams from old sealant and replace the oil filter along with the magnets, and also diagnose them for the presence of metal shavings.
- On a manual transmission, the oil filter is located on the housing, which does not require additional opening.
- After replacing the filter, it is necessary to fill in a new substance.
- Then you should start the engine and, standing still, switch all gearbox operating modes so that new oil gets into the seals and other parts. In this case, there should be no vibrations, gears should shift smoothly and softly.
After this, it is necessary to repeat the draining and topping up procedure 2-3 times to completely change the transmission.
Partial oil change in the Lada Kalina 2 gearbox
A partial change of substance involves a simple topping up or a one-time drain of the product. To carry out this procedure, you will need a volume equal to half the gearbox housing - respectively, for a manual transmission 1.5-2 liters, for an automatic transmission - 3-4 liters. In this case, the used oil comes out only by gravity one time.
Also, this procedure can be carried out when the level of the old substance decreases for various reasons (extreme cold, malfunction of individual elements). The procedure for replacing the filter in this case is also desirable, but not mandatory. In this case, if the level of the substance drops critically, it is necessary to diagnose the performance of all systems, regardless of the type of gearbox.
Which manufacturer should you prefer?
Another important factor in choosing the best gear oil for Lada Kalina is the manufacturer’s brand. The modern market is saturated with a large selection of products. It is popular and in great demand brands that offer high-quality and high-quality products. In practice, the vast majority of lubricating fluids offered are cheaper analogues of truly good oils. Always check the availability of GOST when purchasing. If it is not there, then most likely this liquid will not help. It's better to pay a little more and get quality lubricant.
We present to you a list of the most purchased oils for the Lada Kalina gearbox:
- ZIC (29.7% of buyers)
- Shell (14.1% of buyers)
- Liqui Moly (13.4% of buyers)
- Lukoil (12.4% of buyers)
- Castrol (5.5% of buyers)
- Mobil (4.2% of buyers)
Also, manufacturers TNK and Rosneft are almost on a par with Mobile. All presented brands produce products with different chemical compositions. Among them there are synthetic and semi-synthetic oils. Mineral fluids are produced by a small number of manufacturers, since they are not in great demand and are suitable for drivers in extremely rare cases due to their fragility.
How to check the oil level in the Lada Kalina gearbox
To check the condition and level in the gearbox, the manufacturer provides several methods depending on the type of gearbox:
- Old manual transmissions use a classic plastic dipstick, which is located directly on the box body in the engine compartment. It contains risks that indicate the current level of the transmission. With its help, you can determine both the level of the liquid itself and its condition. There is also a special sensor installed on the instrument panel, which will provide information when the overall production level decreases.
- On modern mechanical products and automatic transmissions there is no such dipstick; instead, there is a control plug, the state of which determines the current level. The disadvantage of such a plug is the inability to check the actual condition of the oil, its color and consistency. In addition, there is a low level indicator on the instrument panel, which, if it drops too low, will light up and emit an audible signal indicating a lack of product.
