  • the last class “E” - firmware for reducing fuel consumption and adjusting engine efficiency, also designated as Economical.

As a rule, cars with an on-board computer are subject to engine flashing; it is these cars that have a special control unit and a factory mechanical part for controlling the unit designed for this purpose.

Improved gas dynamics

The most common method of increasing cylinder filling is to improve gas dynamics. But it is the most unguaranteed... With this method, the channels and combustion chamber are modified.

First, we increase the volume of the cylinders as much as possible. We do not use the camshaft, that is, the torque curve remains in the old speed range. As a result, we get a more dynamic car, without the driver having to change his driving style.

To increase the working volume of the cylinders, instead of the standard crankshaft, we install a part with a large eccentricity or bore the cylinders for pistons of a larger cross-section while maintaining the correct geometry. This is done on a high-precision machine.

The first option seems less expensive, but it has its own nuances. Finding a crankshaft with a large eccentricity is quite difficult. Basically, they are produced individually, and even then not all enterprises. Therefore, it is easier to purchase a standard product and select a piston group for it.

Naturally, you cannot do without new pistons and connecting rods. However, standard connecting rods will not fit a crankshaft with a large eccentricity - you need to install shortened ones, and they will provoke additional mechanical losses in the operation of the internal combustion engine due to increased movement resistance. In addition, short connecting rods are less reliable because they experience greater loads.

From this we conclude that the option with cylinder boring is less expensive. The thickness of the cylinder wall allows you to obtain additional volume by increasing the diameter by 1-2 mm without loss of strength. At the same time, you don’t need to bother with finding special pistons - serial models, of course, with a larger diameter, will do. Boring cylinder blocks in a car repair shop will cost 1200-1600 rubles.

How to uniquely transform your car?

The first thing the process of flashing a car engine begins with is determining the purpose of flashing (fuel savings, increasing power or modifying the unit). To carry out this procedure, you will need a desktop computer or laptop (most often) with previously configured software and a special cord for connecting to the OBD port of the car.

Depending on the make and model of the car, the control unit can be located differently, in front under the panel, outside under the hood, under the seat, or even in the trunk of the car. But most often it is located in the front of the car, this is both convenient and accessible for flashing the car engine. It is better not to describe the process of flashing a car engine, reading, modifying and refilling, since it is different for each make, model, and even year of manufacture or submodel of the car. The main stages of flashing a car engine are adjusting the factory firmware and testing the results of the modification.

It would not be superfluous to take measurements before flashing the car’s engine, that is, its acceleration dynamics, fuel consumption and other parameters, and carry out a similar procedure after chip tuning the engine. Ignition switch illumination

Illumination of the ignition switch is a rather convenient “feature” when the car is frequently used at night in poorly or unlit places.

To modify the ignition switch and install the backlight, a minimum of parts are required, and all the work, including the connection, takes about an hour.

After some simple manipulations with the ignition switch, you will not experience any difficulties when using the car in the dark.

To work you need:

  • LED of small diameter, for example, 2.5–3 mm;
  • resistance 1–1.5 kOhm;
  • the wire.

To install the backlight, you need to remove the lock cover. It is removed together with the immobilizer antenna, and then remove the top cover of the casing.

At the second stage, the LED is installed inside the lock housing. To ensure uniform illumination, small slits can be made in the housing, after which the casing is assembled and installed in place. The wires coming from the LED are pulled to the CEBCS unit and connected to the white connector. To connect the wires, you can use gray or white wires - this is a “minus”. For “plus”, either of the two red wires is used.

Connecting to the CEBKS unit allows you to get the lighting to work similar to turning on the interior lamp - it lights up when the Lada Largus is disarmed, when the doors are opened, and goes out either after the doors are closed or after the ignition is turned on.

Chip tuning is a panacea for correcting shortcomings

As a rule, when talking about the chassis of a car, the issue of balance between the smoothness of the car's ride and its handling is raised. There are two extremes - you can drive very comfortably, almost not noticing irregularities on the road, but at the same time the car will sway and roll heavily in turns, respond slowly and not very accurately to steering commands.

And the other extreme is excellent controllability, but at the same time, every small pebble will be felt literally by the whole body, passing through the fifth point along the spine to the brain.

And literally all automakers are looking for in each of their car models that ideal balance between handling and comfort that would be accepted by the majority of their potential buyers.

But, unfortunately, not every car enthusiast can afford to buy a car that would meet all his requirements.

Indeed, the functionality of the interior heating system is in big question when the “stove” motor is turned on and the engine is not running - there is no circulation of coolant, and the coolant in the “stove” will quickly cool down and stop heating the interior.
