Stages of replacing lubricant Lada Largus
Changing engine oil on this model occurs like on most cars. The main rule is to use the lubricant recommended by the manufacturer. Or purchase analogues that meet the required tolerances.
Lada Largus cars, as well as cross modifications, are equipped with 1.6-liter gasoline engines:
- 8 valves - K7M (VAZ-11189);
- 16 valves - K4M (VAZ-21129).
The replacement process for these engines and modifications will be the same. But we will make a reservation that the described instructions are carried out on a car with a 1.6l VAZ engine. 16 valves.
Draining waste fluid
To drain oil from a Lada Largus, it is desirable to have a pit or overpass, since the main actions will take place from below the car. Therefore, we place the car above the technological ditch, go down into it and remove the engine protection from below. To do this, you need to unscrew the 6 bolts under the head by 10mm.
When everything is ready, we proceed directly to the drain:
- Raise the hood, then find the filler neck on the engine and unscrew the plug (Fig. 1).
Fig.1 Oil filler neck
Now we go down under the car and place a waste container in the drainage area. You can use a cut canister or an old bucket.
What brake fluid should be used on the Lada Granta
In order to replace the used fluid with a new one, it is recommended to purchase “ROSDOT”, produced in the city of Dzerzhinsk, or “KAPROS-DOT”. The volume of the replacement reagent must be at least 450-550 milliliters. According to consumer reviews, most of them prefer to use ROSDOT brake reagent for replacement. According to research by the magazine “Behind the wheel”, the brand of brake fluid in question occupies the best place in the ranking. This may be a significant reason for choosing this particular brand for replacement.
Studies were carried out on the composition of DOT-4 working fluids. All of them can be combined with each other. True, there are slight differences between the substances and each other.
Modern classes of brake fluid differ from each other in purpose:
Brake fluid | Description and purpose |
DOT-3 (glycol based) | Used for vehicles traveling at moderate speeds. These vehicles are equipped with drum brakes or front disc brakes. |
DOT 4 (mostly glycol) | It is widely used on new generation cars that develop high speeds and are mainly equipped with disc brakes for all wheels. |
DOT 5.1 (mostly glycol based) | Used on fast racing cars that have high thermal overheating of the brake system. |
DOT 5 (base consists of silicone) | It is almost never used on common cars. |
It is not recommended to mix the working reagents listed above. The only exception is that good mixing is possible if the color scheme of the reagents used is not particularly different from each other. If the Granta has ABS, then the on-board computer installed on it controls all the actions of the anti-lock brake.
In other words, ABS is built into the braking system of the Lada Grant. In the presence of such a system, the computer regulates the opening and closing of valves, pressure, and a jerk for pumping is organized.

How much oil is in the Lada Largus engine
The domestic Lada Largus station wagon has become more popular than its original model, the Renault Logan MCV, on which the Russian car is based. Moreover, Largus is the best-selling minivan segment on the Russian market. The machine is relatively simple and reliable in terms of design, and at the same time, it allows you to carry out some repair work at home. This greatly facilitates operation, which explains the high popularity of the model. Among the most common “garage” jobs is changing engine oil. This process does not take much time, just like another, more important task - choosing the right motor oil. In this article, using the Lada Largus as an example, we will look at what should be taken into account in the process of selecting consumables.
All actions “step by step”
Before changing the oil, warm up the engine. For convenience, you can place the car on the overpass. It would be advisable to open the filler plug. Then, taking a 12mm hex key or a 17mm round key, unscrew the drain plug.
The main thing is to completely drain the “working off”
After making two turns with the key, replace the empty container. Then the plug is unscrewed by hand.
The oil draining process will take 6-8 minutes. The crankcase contains 3.5 liters of fluid, but not everything will drain. At the last stage, the plug is returned to its place. The tightening torque for the drain plug for VAZ engines is not standardized. But it is indicated for the manual transmission unit - the force should be 30-46 N*m.
How to change the oil filter
To replace the filter, you first need to open the hood. Then, taking a puller, unscrew the filter housing. Direction: counterclockwise.
Oil filter removed
Instead of a puller, you can use a screwdriver. The filter housing is pierced closer to the bottom, and a screwdriver is used as a lever.
There is one connector on the engine near the filter. It would be better to turn it off.
DPKV sensor socket
We do the shutdown like this:
- Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery (open-end wrench “10”);
- Temporarily disconnect the connector.
The connection can be completed before installing the new filter.
The filter housing that will be installed is first filled with oil. You need to fill in 70-100 ml (a third of the volume).
Here we went a little overboard with the volume.
The rubber ring is also treated with new oil. Then installation is carried out, being careful not to touch important components.
Filling the engine with oil
You need to make sure once again that the “bottom plug” is tightened and the filter is screwed in all the way. The crankcase is filled with oil through the upper neck.
The refueling process is the simplest step
You will need to pour in exactly 3.3 liters. Then close the neck and start the engine. You need to wait exactly one minute: if the lamp on the device goes out, it means the volume was selected correctly.
When the engine is stopped, you need to wait 2-3 minutes. Then the oil level is checked using the dipstick. And then, having returned the dipstick to its place, they top up or pull out excess material from the neck. In the latter case, use a thin tube.
The dipstick on the VAZ-11189 engine really exists!
Replacement instructions
VAZ manufacturers recommend changing the oil after 15 thousand kilometers, and along with it the oil filter. If the filter element is not changed on time, it becomes clogged and all contaminants pass by the filter and enter the engine, which negatively affects the operation of the power unit. The frequency of replacement depends on the quality of the lubricant and operating conditions. If conditions are severe, replacement should be done sooner.
What will you need?
It is more convenient to perform the procedure on a raised machine; an overpass, lift or inspection hole is suitable for this. The replacement should be made on a warm engine, preferably after a trip. If the machine has not been used, then you need to start it and let it run for a few minutes. To carry out the procedure you need to prepare:
- Consumables;
- a container for draining waste with a volume of about 5 liters;
- a set of keys;
- oil filter puller;
- funnel;
- clean rags.
If there is no special puller, then you can use improvised means: belt, chain, screwdriver. You can use an old canister or plastic bottle as a container.
Stages
The oil filter is changed along with the oil. Therefore, a description of the step-by-step filter replacement is included in the lubricant change. It is more convenient to change the oil in a Lada Largus engine with 8 valves. You can unscrew the drain plug through the protection slots. For an engine with 16 valves, replacement cannot be done without removing the crankcase protection. If it is impossible to lift the car, then you can get to the filter element through the hood by first removing the fuel rail protective screen. Thus, the process of replacing the oil fluid and oil filter consists of the following steps:
- A warmed-up car is driven onto an overpass.
- The protection from the engine is removed.
- Place a container under the drain hole to drain the waste.
- The drain plug is unscrewed.
- Next, you need to wait until all the lubricant drains, this takes about 10 minutes.
- When all the liquid has flowed out, the plug with a new gasket is screwed back onto the drain hole.
- At the next stage, the filter element is changed.
First, using available tools, unscrew the old filter. The installation site should be cleaned of dirt and dust with a clean cloth so that they do not get into the new lubricant. Having taken a new consumable, you need to fill it halfway with new lubricant and lubricate the o-ring with it.
Pour lubricant into the new consumable. Tighten the product by hand, without applying much force, until the seal touches the surface of the cylinder block. After this, you need to turn the housing 2/3 of a turn. To fill in new lubricant, open the hood and unscrew the cap on the filler hole.
Engine compartment Use a funnel to add new oil. The oil level should be between minimum and maximum.
Checking the oil level After changing the oil, the car should idle for several minutes. After this, the lubricant level is checked again. If necessary, top up.
This completes the oil change procedure for the Lada Largus. The oil level should be additionally checked after a few days and regularly monitored and the condition of the lubricant throughout operation.
Sorry, there are no surveys available at this time.
Lubricant replacement procedure
The lubricant is replaced in a certain sequence. How much lubricant to prepare for this is indicated above. Depending on which engine (8 or 16 valves), the appropriate viscosity is selected. In addition, you must purchase a new oil filter from Renault catalog 7700274177 or 8200768913. You must also have the following materials available:
Next, perform the following steps:
- The car is driven onto an overpass or inspection hole (the engine is warmed up).
- The engine crankcase protection is removed using wrenches.
- The oil pan is cleaned of dirt and other deposits.
- The hood rises and the plug opens, through which lubricant will then be poured.
- The tetrahedron loosens (a couple of turns) the drain plug.
- The container is inserted, the plug is completely unscrewed, and the used lubricant is drained.
- It is necessary to check the condition of the sealing gasket, which, together with the plug, closes the drain neck. If it is unsatisfactory, it will need to be replaced.
- After some time, after the waste material has completely stopped flowing, the neck plug is screwed back on.
- The filter is replaced - the used part is unscrewed using a puller. The rubber seal of the new filter is lubricated with oil, after which it is screwed into place.
- New working fluid is poured through the filler neck. Ideally, about 4.8 liters should enter, but no more. It is advisable to periodically check the level with a dipstick. After this, the neck is closed with a stopper.
- The motor starts and runs to circulate the lubricant throughout the system. When starting, the emergency oil pressure lamp in the engine should go out. After warming up, you need to check the lubricant level again with a dipstick. It should be halfway between the minimum and maximum.
Lada Largus is ready for further trips. You can watch the oil change procedure on video for a better understanding.
Replacing engine oil and oil filter 1.4–1.6 (8V) Renault Logan, Sandero
We change the engine oil in accordance with the maintenance regulations. We carry out the work on an inspection ditch or overpass. We carry out the replacement with the warm engine not running, preferably immediately after the trip, before the oil has cooled down.
Use oils recommended by the manufacturer (see “Appendices”). Remove the oil filler cap. From the bottom of the car, we clean the oil pan from dirt around the drain plug.
Using a 8-point square, loosen the drain plug. We place a wide container for draining used oil with a volume of at least 4 liters and, unscrewing the plug manually, drain the oil.
Be careful - the oil is hot.
To prevent oil leakage from the oil pan, a thin layer of rubber is vulcanized along the surface of the washer hole.
A steel washer is installed under the plug.
Let's examine the puck. If the rubber seal of the washer is damaged, replace the washer with a new one. If you do not have a new standard washer, you can install a copper washer with a hole diameter of 18 mm under the plug.
Drain the oil for at least ten minutes.
We wrap and tighten the drain plug. We remove oil leaks from the engine oil pan and the power unit protection. When changing the oil, the oil filter must be replaced.
Place a container under the oil filter. Unscrew (counterclockwise) the oil filter. If this cannot be done manually...
...loosen the filter with a puller. If there is no puller, we pierce the filter housing with a powerful screwdriver (closer to the bottom, so as not to damage the engine fitting) and unscrew the filter, using the screwdriver as a lever.
We clean the filter seat on the cylinder block from dirt and oil drips. Fill the filter with new engine oil to about half its volume and apply engine oil to the filter O-ring.
We wrap the oil filter by hand until the sealing ring comes into contact with the cylinder block. Turn the filter another 2/3 of a turn to seal the connection. Pour 3.3 liters of engine oil into the engine through the oil filler neck. Close the oil filler cap.
We start the engine for 1–2 minutes. We make sure that the indicator of insufficient (emergency) oil pressure in the engine in the instrument cluster has gone out and there are no leaks from under the drain plug and filter.
We stop the engine. After a few minutes (so that the oil has time to drain into the oil pan), we check the oil level and bring it to normal. If necessary, tighten the oil filter and drain plug.

A few more engine maintenance tips
In order for the engine's life to be fully exhausted, we must not forget about its nutrition and breathing. This fully applies to the fuel and air filter in the gasoline supply system. According to the regulations, the air filter must be replaced after approximately 30 thousand km or after two years of operation.
But even here there may be some peculiarities, which depend on the conditions under which the machine is operated. If it occurs in highly dusty conditions, the air filter should be changed more often.
If we talk about gasoline, then there are pitfalls here too. Unfortunately, today you can still find gas stations that offer gasoline of questionable quality. The use of low-quality fuel can completely damage the power unit, which will entail significant financial costs for its restoration. The manufacturer recommends using gasoline with an octane number of at least 92 units.
Changing the engine oil
Experienced car owners know that recommendations regarding oil changes should not be ignored.
Ignoring this important process provokes incredibly complex breakdowns that impede not only a comfortable trip, but also completely make such movements impossible. Used oil fluid does not provide high-quality lubrication, so parts quickly fail due to excessive friction. We recommend that you allocate funds on time to purchase oil and pour it into the engine of your favorite car.
We will tell you how to carry out such manipulations without making a single mistake, so you should not worry about your technical amateurism

Leaks and problems
The longer the mileage of the Lada Largus becomes, the more problems appear, as in principle with any car. Most often this is due to natural wear and tear of the engine, causing oil to burn. Although the manufacturer allows for a small consumption.
If, when inspecting the engine for leaks, they are found, then eliminating the leak, and with it the burns, is not difficult
But if there are no signs of leakage, then you should pay attention to the following nuances. Increased oil consumption can be affected by driving at high speeds, as well as frequent idling of the engine.
By the way, oil burns on 1.6 engines are quite rare. But there is one problem that is quite widespread when car owners notice oil in spark plug wells. If the car is under warranty, then we simply go to the dealer to have it fixed.
If there is no longer a guarantee, then we do the following. We take the solvent and thoroughly wipe the spark plug well. Inside the wells themselves you can find 2 small grooves; they need to be sealed with sealant. Apply the sealant to your finger and try to rub it into the grooves; remove the residue with a rag. This is a simple way to eliminate this leakage.
Instructions for changing oil on an 8-valve engine (with photo)
Always warm up the engine before changing the oil. Then turn off the ignition and place the car on the overpass. It would be better to immediately remove the filler cap.
K7M engine filler plug
Further actions are performed in steps:
- A drain plug is found under the bottom of the crankcase pan.
It is unscrewed with a four-sided key “8”; Window in the crankcase protection under the plug - Turn the key 1-2 turns and place an empty container underneath. The plug can then be unscrewed by hand;
- Used oil must be drained for 7-8 minutes (no less);
- Finally, the crankcase is wiped and the plug is screwed back in. The tightening torque should be 22 N*m.
All that remains is to fill in new oil. But we will also change the oil filter.
How to get to the filter?
If the number of valves is 8, the oil change in the Lada Largus engine is carried out as follows: drain the waste and fill in new oil. The filter is not replaced. And to change it, all you have to do is open the hood.
Space from radiator to engine
The filter housing is fixed next to the exhaust system casing. Take a puller and unscrew the filter.
The new filter is filled one-third full with oil (70-100 ml). The rubber ring must also be wiped with oil.
Everything is ready for installation
The filter housing is screwed into the engine crankcase until it stops by hand. Here the recommended force is 15-17 N*m.
The process of filling and checking the oil level
We take a funnel and pour 3.3 liters of new oil through the engine filler neck. After closing the lid, we start. Let the motor run for 1-2 minutes.
Everything is bad here - the lamp is still on
If the oil lamp goes out, it means we were not mistaken with the volume. And you will still need to check the level.
When the engine is stopped, you need to wait 3-5 minutes. Then take out the control probe and look at the marks. The article numbers for Renault probes are 8200678386 and 7700273904.
Checking the oil level in the crankcase
Install the dipstick into the crankcase, pressing it all the way. If necessary, remove the filler cap and top up.
Articles (must read!)
The plug is unscrewed from the bottom of the crankcase. It is supplied with a washer. These parts are not sold as a set, only individually.
Drain plug and washer
The article number of the plug is 7703075348. We were able to find three articles for the washer: 110265505R, 8200641648, 7703062062. In the latter case, it will just be a copper ring.
Those who screw in the plug without the washer have themselves to blame. The oil will flow out of the pan, but not immediately.
The washer can be made from a sheet of copper. The internal diameter should be 16.7 mm. If the dipstick is lost, it’s not a problem. Use article number 8200666287.

Which oil to choose for a 16 valve engine
For 16-valve Lada Largus R40 and Lada Largus Cross, oils with the following characteristics are best suited:
- 0w30, 0w40 - for winter or harsh northern climates, where 0 is the range of permissible temperatures for “cold” engine starting, at which the oil does not harden and lubricates the parts well (in this case, up to -35 degrees), and 30, 40 - this is an indicator of low viscosity;
- 5w30, 5w40 - all-season fuels and lubricants for the temperate zone, where frost does not fall below -25 degrees;
- 10w30, 10w40 – for warm southern climates, where the temperature is not lower than -20;
- 15w30, 15w40 – summer option, for regions where the thermometer does not drop below -15.
These recommendations were compiled by AvtoVAZ experts without indicating brands and possible manufacturers. That is, we pour oil into the Lada Largus Cross and Lada Largus R40, where according to SAE the first digit is no less than 5 (for example, 5w30). 0W30 is not suitable for such cars
Criteria for selecting Lada Largus oil
All oils are selected based on compliance with SAE, ACEA, API. In terms of composition, it is optimal to use semi-synthetics or synthetics for Lada Largus.
Viscosity is suitable 0w30, 0w40, 5w30, 5w40, 10w30, 10w40,15w30, 15w40, but most often drivers fill in 5W-30.
Information on viscosity for a specific engine can be found in the motor oil interchangeability catalog: https://www.northsealubricants.com/en/oil-advisor
The catalog can be trusted, the data is taken from car manufacturers. In this case, you can choose not only oil for the engine, but also for the gearbox, power steering, brake system, and cooling system. That is, all liquids.

At the factory, the Lada Largus engine is filled with Elf Solaris Rnx 5w30 oil.
Types of oils
- Synthetic is a high-quality oil with continuous advantages. This is a very fluid and liquid composition that is not afraid of low temperatures. An ideal option for any modern vehicle, including Lada Largus. It has good extreme pressure and anti-oxidation properties, and also effectively cools engine components and thereby prevents overheating. Synthetics have proven themselves well in all temperature and road conditions. This oil will last for a long time, and this will have a beneficial effect on the frequency of replacement.
- Semi-synthetic – a mixture of synthetic and mineral oils. There is much more of the latter (70% of the total volume), and yet this composition is much better than “mineral water”. It withstands low temperatures better, as it practically does not freeze in frosty weather. Semi-synthetics are a worthy alternative to mineral oil.
Next, we will consider the best brands, as well as oil parameters, tolerances and standards separately for each year of production of Lada Largus:

Brake system diagnostics
Since the braking system of a car is one of the most important systems, without which the vehicle cannot function normally, you should pay special attention to its full functionality. Every time you drive your car, make sure that the ABS icon on the dashboard goes out after passing the test when you turn on the ignition. If this does not happen, then it is worth doing a full check of the brake system.
If this does not happen, then it is worth doing a full check of the brake system.

A little about engine maintenance
Any internal combustion engine, including K4M, requires periodic maintenance. The regulations for carrying out such work are described in detail in the vehicle’s operating instructions, but it would be useful to remind you about this again.
First of all, it should be recalled that special attention should be paid to the condition of the toothed belt, tension roller, and other elements of the timing mechanism drive. Otherwise, if these parts are damaged, the valves can be bent, and this is already a significant cost for repairing the power unit
These products should be replaced at 60 thousand km.
The next factor that requires close attention of the driver of a car with a K4M engine is the timely replacement of engine oil. The operating instructions for the vehicle also inform you in detail about the frequency of such an operation. When choosing an oil change according to the regulations, buy the brands recommended by the manufacturer.
According to the regulations, the engine oil is changed after 15 thousand kilometers or one year of operation of the vehicle. If you can find out what kind of oil to pour into the engine from the instructions, then where to perform such an operation or where to purchase lubricant is not indicated.
To avoid purchasing “counterfeit” products or ending up with “careless” mechanics, you should carefully consider the offers of motor lubricants and replacement workshops. It is best to purchase oils directly from dealers of lubricant manufacturers, and you can find out about car services from clients of such a company, read reviews on the Internet, and take advice from other car owners.
The oil used at the factory is 5W40 or 5W30, try to use the same for your car. There are many manufacturers of high-quality motor lubricants; choose them correctly and your car will “run” for a long period without problems. If the lubricant is changed together with an oil filter, approximately 4.8 liters of oil will be required; if without a filter, only 4.5 liters will be enough.
How much to fill
Lada Largus is equipped with two types of gasoline engines, which require different amounts of oil due to different displacements:
Year of manufacture – since 2012
- For petrol engine 1.6 K7M 87 l. With.:
- How much to fill - 3.3 liters
Year of manufacture – since 2012
- For petrol engine 1.6 16V K4M 105 l. With.:
- How much to fill - 4.8 liters
Let us draw attention to the fact that the specified amount of oil can only be introduced during a complete replacement, which is carried out using special equipment. In other words, such a procedure is only possible at a dealership
At home, Lada Largus owners are content with a partial replacement, during which it is not possible to completely drain the old oil. According to unofficial data, there is a proven method - phased partial replacement. This is no less effective a procedure than a complete replacement at the dealership. At least, it allows you to completely get rid of dirt and remnants of old oil, and then fill in new oil in full (3-3-4.8 liters depending on engine size).
Short excursion
In numerous videos presented on the Internet, you can familiarize yourself with its characteristics and watch test discs. Impressive spacious living room and large trunk, which is very useful for Russians.
In 2010, Lada Largus was presented to the public for the first time. After 2 years, the first car rolled off the assembly line and industrial production began. The car itself is a copy of the Dacia Logan MCV, which is licensed for production at AvtoVAZ. Lydia Largus: with a trolley that can accommodate 5 or 7 passengers, as well as an all-metal body and a 2-seater interior.
The car is equipped with two French bullets with 8 valves 87 hp. s., and a 16-valve with a capacity of 105 horses. A six-valve engine has two camshafts, an 8-valve engine has one camshaft. The car is built on the Renaul Logan platform and the engines are also taken from there. The gearbox is manual 5-speed, French.
In the video you see how the Lada Largus confidently moves along our roads. This is made possible by adjusting the suspension, springs and shock absorbers to increase load capacity. Increased ground clearance.
What needs to be done to change the oil and oil filter in the K4M 1.6 and F4R 2.0 engines?
For ease of work, the vehicle must be installed on an inspection hole or overpass. The power unit must be clean, including from below. The engine must be warm, which will give the oil good fluidity when drained. The oil filter is located behind the fuel rail protection, so it must be removed to be accessible.
Refueling or lubrication point | Quantity, in liters | Name of motor oils |
Lubrication system for gasoline engines K4M 1.6 / F4R 2.0 | 4,8 / 5,4 | oils with API quality class: SL; SM and SAE viscosity level: 5W30; 5W40; 5W50; 0W30; 0W40 (manufacturer and brands may be different; Elf Excellium 5W40 is filled at the manufacturer). |
1. We dismantle the fuel rail protection, for which:
We demonstrate the procedure for changing the oil and oil filter on the F4R 2.0 engine.
We take a “13” head with an extension, insert it one by one into the technological channels and unscrew a couple of nuts on the studs. After unscrewing, the nuts must be pulled out.
We take the ramp protection with both hands and move it forward until it is removed from the studs. We take out the protection from the engine compartment.
This is what the removed fuel rail protection looks like.
On the K4M 1.6 engine, dismantling the protection and changing the oil and filter are also performed.
2. We carry out preparatory operations to drain the old engine oil:
Open the oil filler neck.
- From the inspection hole, remove (wipe) dirt (dust) from the protection of the power unit and the engine oil pan around the oil drain plug.
- We take an “8” tetrahedron and use it to slightly unscrew the plug so that we can then unscrew it by hand to drain the oil...
- We place a container with a volume of at least 6 liters for F4R and 5 liters for K4M under the engine crankcase to drain the old used oil. Unscrew the plug with the washer completely and the oil will drain into the container.
Carry out work with caution - the oil is hot!
We wash the plug and steel washer in nefras or white spirit and inspect them. There should be no damage to the surface of the vulcanized thin rubber on the washer, otherwise oil will leak. If the rubber on the washer is damaged and you do not have a new one, then you can replace it with a copper washer with an internal ∅ 18 mm.
The duration of draining the oil should be at least 10 minutes. Upon completion, we install the drain plug complete with the ring and tighten it. We take a rag and remove the oil on the engine crankcase and the protection of the power unit by degreasing with nefras or white spirit.
How to choose the right lubrication system filter?
It's no secret that the main purpose of an engine oil system filter is to clean the fluid circulating inside the unit from impurities that appear over time. Particles gradually form in the oil, which are products of the “life activity” of the motor, which can cause a lot of trouble for the unit itself. As is known, they can provoke increased wear of most of the components present in the design of the cylinder-piston group. This circumstance in most cases leads to a major overhaul of the unit.
Renault Duster configurations and prices 2017
The structural nature of the oil filter for the most part implies the presence of a metal housing, the internal cavity of which is filled by the filter component itself. The oil filter is mounted on a corresponding block element with two valves: a bypass valve and one that prevents fluid drainage. The last of the designated valves prevents the outflow of fluid into the crankcase cavity and is installed in the inlet channel. It closes immediately when the engine stops.
The bypass valve begins to “work” if the system filter fails to perform its function or if the motor “deals” with high-viscosity lubricant.
In any case, the choice of filter should be based on the manufacturer's recommendations.
- 8 valves - K7M (VAZ-11189);
To unscrew the filter element, it is advisable to have a special puller. If it is not available, you can try to unscrew the filter using improvised means. For these purposes, you can use, for example, an old alternator belt, a regular belt, a bicycle chain or a simple screwdriver.
This method will allow you to drain as much of the used oil as possible, after which you can proceed to further actions. The main thing is not to forget, everything that we unscrewed must be put back in place.
Flushing the lubrication system
Engine flushing on a Lada Largus car should be carried out only in exceptional cases, which include:
- Purchasing a used car when you cannot be sure of the quality and regularity of lubricant replacements.
- During operation, the service replacement interval was repeatedly exceeded.
- Engine operation with constant frequent overheating, which contributes to coking and other deposits.
- In cases of switching to another type, for example from synthetics to semi-synthetics.
There are several types of flushes for the Lada Largus engine:
- Five- or seven-minute, capable of cleaning even the most difficult deposits. They must be used very carefully and strictly follow the instructions printed on the packaging. It is recommended to use them only when absolutely necessary. Since there is a high probability of causing premature wear of the sealing seals. And also clog the oil channels with particles of washed away carbon deposits.
- Special compounds that are added to the oil several hundred kilometers before the expected change. They are more gentle, but there is also a possibility of clogging of the oil channels.
- Flushing oil is the most gentle method of cleaning the engine from the inside. This composition is poured after draining the waste, the engine runs for 15-20 minutes, after which the liquid with deposits is drained. The absence of aggressive additives in the wash composition gently cleans the engine, but is not able to remove heavy contaminants.
- Regular oil that you are going to use when changing. This method is not so popular due to its high cost.
Installing a filter, filling in new engine fluid
If the Lada Largus lubrication system is sealed and does not require repair work to eliminate leaks, you can proceed to adding fresh oil. In addition to the oil itself, we will need a new gasket-washer for the drain plug 21080101106200. As well as the original Livna oil filter 2108-1012005-08. But recently, dealers have begun installing LADA 2105-1012005-82 filters.
When everything is ready, let's move on to the bay:
- Replace the drain plug with a new washer.
- We tighten and put the oil filter in place. Pre-lubricate the rubber sealing ring with fresh oil.
- Pour new oil into the filler neck.
- We check the level on the dipstick; it should be between the MIN and MAX marks.
- We start the engine, let it run for 10-15 seconds, then turn it off.
- After 5 minutes, check the level with a dipstick and top up if necessary.
Let's sum it up
High-quality oil for Largus can last for the entire declared period (15 thousand km) and maintain its conditioning properties, the main thing is to know what kind of oil to fill. If you get a low-quality product, you need to replace it as soon as possible.
Be careful about the selection process, because the market is full of “high-quality” fakes in terms of colorful packaging. It is very difficult to identify such a fact, so tend to purchase lubricant from trusted and reputable sellers. Don’t skimp on oil and the 8-valve or 16-valve engine of your Lada Largus will be “happiness”!

Selecting consumables to replace
From the factory, the 8-valve valve on the Lada Largus will be filled with ELF SOLARIS RNX material. The viscosity of the material is 5W30. There was another option - LUKOIL Genesis RN 5W40. Renault pours ELF oil into its 8-valve valves: brand – Excellium NF, viscosity – 5W40. This company recommends using another material - ELF Evolution SXR 5W30.
Instead of "ELF SXR" there is now "ELF 900 SXR"
By the way, now the number 900 has been added to the name ELF.
According to VAZ recommendations, viscosity is chosen depending on the temperature: 0W30 for the North, 5W30 for Siberia, and there is also a viscosity class 10W40. API quality level – any of three: SL, SM, SN. Ash content according to ACEA – from A1 to A5.
Oil filter and its choice for an 8-valve valve
SOGEFI brand oil filters are supplied to Renault factories. All filters suitable for the K7M motor are marked as follows - 7700274177. And on the same lines they produce substitute analogues: LS218 (Purflux brand), PH11774 (FRAM), FT6129 (Fiaam).
Standard and Advanced Filter
There is also an improved version of the filter. It is designated by numbers 8200768913. List of analogues: Purflux LS932, Fiaam FT5902, FRAM PH5796. We have a more complete list too.
