In connection with the next transformation of such a model as the Lada Largus, which is carried out more by adding value and letter designations than by updating the body and interior, it should be recognized that the technical characteristics of the Largus LF remained pre-restyling.
And these are all the same 1.6 liter naturally aspirated petrol engines, both 90 (albeit, instead of the previous 87) and 106 horsepower in pairs with 5 gearboxes, but diesel for this station wagon is only a dream.
As for the opinions of the majority of our garage comrades who read the “note in the newspaper about our boy” the new Largus, they agreed that the “seven-seater” station wagon received a rather attractive “face”. By the way, the abbreviation FL stands for Facelift or “facelift” in translation. They also noticed a large brand name on the back.
And the most attentive ones noticed changes in the casting shapes of alloy wheels, as well as the fact that the exterior mirrors, apparently, were from Vesta.

The biggest complaints are the ridiculously weak engines. True, as already mentioned, the most frail, namely 87 horsepower engine has been upgraded right up to the parameter of 90 horsepower. At the same time, as sources close to the developers of these VAZ engines say, the latter allegedly achieved that now after 3 thousand km there will be no need to crawl under the hoods of Largus cars to adjust the timing belt.
Well, another problem associated almost with a viral pandemic of the appearance of Check Engine errors, which are a consequence of misfires and occur in turn due to unstable operation of the ECU, has been completely eliminated.
By the way, the fact that the engines are weak is also evidenced by the fact that they, again, massively overheat, which is why the antifreeze boils away. And therefore, you need to carry almost coolant tanks with you to top up the evaporated liquid.
As the philosophers of our garage community say that disadvantages are a consequence of advantages, then. Based on this, it is impossible not to notice such advantages in VAZ engines as:
- low fuel consumption compared to Renault engines (which Largus were equipped with until 2017);
- again, better traction parameters in comparison with Renault, and therefore dynamics;
- slow operation;
- abundance of cheap spare parts compared to Renault.
By the way, here is the appearance and parameters of the 16 valve VAZ engine, which, by the way, are quite decent in comparison with the French 16 valve.

The motor is a little dull (I think it's been running in). The revs don't fluctuate. The clutch pedal travel is too long. Gears change with a slight delay. I can hear the gearbox working at speeds 1-4, but in the fifth the hum of the tires is already drowned out.
The suspension is excellent on uneven surfaces - speed bumps, dirt roads. Significantly softer than Pajero, softer than Nexia, Rapid and Solaris. The Lada Largus FL 2022 station wagon with the new base engine is perceived to be noticeably more energetic and torquey than the old one: at 1,000 rpm, 80% of the torque is already available. The difference is especially noticeable when driving along mountain serpentine roads, while in the city it is more difficult to distinguish one engine from another.
However, the VAZ-11182 engine still lacks dynamism, especially in comparison with the older 106-horsepower unit. The last stars from the sky are also missing, but the car with it still drives faster. True, for this the engine has to be turned to high speeds.
The suspension of the updated Lada Largus 2022 has not changed. It is still distinguished by its high omnivorousness and unpretentiousness, which sets the Russian model apart from most of its classmates. The wagon's new front seats have a good profile and thick padding.
In general, the chairs turned out to be noticeably more comfortable than the old ones, but they are still far from ideal. In particular, they have fairly short cushions, which begins to be felt after a few hours of driving. In addition, the steering column is adjustable only by the angle of inclination, so it will not be possible to immediately find a position that suits you.
There are also some questions regarding the location of the multimedia system, the screen of which is located at the very bottom of the center console. In order to look at it, you have to take your eyes off the road. You can also find fault with the new multifunction steering wheel. The appearance of keys on the steering wheel is, of course, a definite plus, but the ergonomic ridges on the rim are not in the best shape.
In addition, one cannot fail to note the improved sound insulation, which is a separate source of pride for AvtoVAZ. The interior of the new Lada Largus FL has indeed become quieter: according to official information, when accelerating in third gear, the noise level decreased by 5 decibels.
