Review of LADA Vesta SW Cross
In the wake of the popularity of LADA cars in Uzbekistan, we decided to disassemble the most interesting model - LADA Vesta SW Cross.
Appearance
We are all used to square Lada cars and we were simply not ready for Vesta’s appearance. The design turned out to be excellent and even a little sporty (by the way, the abbreviation SW means Sport Wagon), for which thanks to AvtoVAZ chief designer Steve Mattin. He managed to turn a budget car into a car that is simply pleasant to look at. The anti-gravel linings around the perimeter of the body alone cause frantic delight. The only downside is the lack of LED headlights at the rear, optical halogen lights at the front and a large number of plastic parts. Otherwise, this is a decent, pleasing car.
For lovers of numbers, there are also overall dimensions - 4424x1785x1532 mm. The wheelbase is 2635 mm and the ground clearance is 203 mm, which allows you to move off-road without fear of sitting on your belly.
Interior
It’s sad to admit it, but you’ll have to get used to the interior of Vesta Cross, and not immediately enjoy it. Cheap plastic makes itself felt from the first minutes of being in the car: smell, hardness and dull sound when you knock on it. In defense, we can say that this is just a budget car and you shouldn’t expect natural wood in the interior and leather on the seat upholstery.
The front has all the attributes of a modern car: a glove compartment, cup holders, a compartment for small equipment (for example, a telephone). By the way, the owners of Vesta SW Cross say that it is more convenient to put the phone in the cup holder. If you have a different opinion on this matter, write in the comments.
A three-stage seat heating system, adjustable seats and steering wheel, parking sensors and heated electric mirrors are responsible for a comfortable ride.
The rear is quite spacious, but less functional. The only amenities are cup holders in the folding armrest. There is a mount for child seats.
The trunk of the Vesta SW Cross has a volume of 480 liters up to the shelf. With the seats folded down, the luggage compartment increases to 825 liters, which is quite good. There are compartments for various small items and tools, hooks for bags from the store, and a 12 V socket.
Safety
2 airbags are responsible for the safety of the driver and front passenger. There are no airbags for rear passengers. The car body has a frame made of high-strength steel. ABS, traction control and ESP allow for better road holding. You can learn more about safety in the following video:
Specifications
Engine 1.6 liter 21129 series with an in-line four-cylinder block and 16 valves. Almost the same as 21126 from Priora. Among the differences, it has a variable intake receiver geometry - this function allows you to improve traction at low and high speeds. Also, the LADA Vesta SW Cross engine does not have a mass air flow sensor (MAF). Instead, an absolute pressure sensor (MAP) is used, which allows you to control the fuel supply.

Identification plates, VIN number, engine number
The model and number of the vehicle, engine model, weight data, number for spare parts, options and configurations are indicated in the summary plate of the factory data located on the right central pillar, below, in the sill area.
Note: In accordance with the Technical Regulations “On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles”, the model year is defined as a conditional year indicated by the manufacturer (usually following the actual year of manufacture of the vehicle). At JSC AVTOVAZ, the start of the model year is set on July 1 of the calendar year. Thus, from January 1 to June 30, the model year corresponds to the actual year of manufacture of the car, and from July 1 to December 31 corresponds to the one following the actual year of manufacture of the car;
