Already the second copy of Lada Vesta of the VIP category has left the AvtoVAZ workshops. This executive class car with an extended wheelbase is called Lada Vesta Signature and is planned for release in a limited series, the price is not yet known. However, in order for the plant management to make such a decision, the elongated Vesta must receive good ratings in tests in real conditions by those for whom it is, in fact, intended.

The second Lada Vesta Signature produced will be transferred for testing to the government of the Samara region, and the operation itself will take place in the Moscow representative office of the region. Officials will not just be passive passengers - over time, they are expected to provide assessments, comments and wishes regarding the current state and ways of development of the first VAZ VIP car. Particular attention will be paid to the comfort of travel and the quality of equipment. The feedback received in this way will be carefully analyzed and taken into account, after which (if no serious shortcomings are identified), the first small series of Lada Vesta Signature (the price is not yet known) will be put into production.

Being only the second car of the series produced, this example became a testing ground for some innovations that were still missing on the mass-produced Vesta (see photo). Among them: a change in the position of the windshield washer nozzles (now they are under the very edge of the hood), the gas tank flap can be opened directly from the passenger compartment, as well as the trunk (now this can be done with a special button). The antenna on the Lada Vesta Signature is now located in the rear of the roof and is shaped like a typical BMW “shark fin”.

Even the photo of the Vesta Signature shows that the car has become noticeably longer compared to the standard sedan: the base has become 250 mm longer than the standard one (4,660 mm), and all the space thus obtained is generously given to the privileged passengers sitting in the back. The idea of ​​a new version

Lada Vesta Signature is not the first such version of Lada.
Previously, experiments with increasing dimensions were carried out with the Lada Priora. Then the concept version of Priora Premier was presented, the base length of which was increased by 17.5 centimeters. At the time of the attempt to introduce such a car, VAZ did not have sufficient capacity for this, so the project of an extended Priora froze at the embryonic stage. Today, after successful sales of the new Lada Vesta sedan and X-Ray crossover, the Tolyatti concern has reached a completely new level. Therefore, there are rumors that mass production of the long Vesta is quite within the capabilities of AvtoVAZ. The rear seatback no longer folds down. In the middle is a massive console-armrest, which hides two cup holders, two USB slots and heating switches. There is an additional lamp in the ceiling. The upholstery of the seats and some interior parts is leather, and the decorative inserts on the doors and instrument panel are chrome.

I was lucky enough to see almost all the elongated Tolyatti cars, even the first-born Amadeo based on the VAZ-21099 sedan, produced by Master Design in the mid-nineties. As is true: both in appearance and in the quality of the interior, the long Vesta surpasses all its predecessors. It's not even about the nuances.

Vesta seems to be from a different league - the highest, into which elongated versions of other VAZ models were closed. The design of the donor is so successful that the body of the elongated Vesta looks organic, as if it was born that way. And there is a qualitative leap in the interior decoration - there are no little things that look tacky.
