In 2022, AvtoVAZ plans to release several new products to the market at once. Lada Grante will be equipped with sports bumpers, and Vesta’s color range will be expanded. The AvtoVAZ model range has also been expanded in 2022 with new products that expand existing lines or are new representatives of the class. Admirers of the Russian automobile industry will be pleased with the stylish appearance of the cars, the updated and improved interior, and more.
Due to the difficult epidemiological situation in the world, MIAS, an auto exhibition held every year in Moscow, was canceled. Therefore, AvtoVAZ decided to hold its online presentations, where the plant’s new products will be presented.
Lada Vesta
What new AvtoVAZ cars await us in 2022 in this line:
- SW Sport is a long-certified second-generation station wagon, the release of which depends on the success of sales of the Sport sedan. They report a unique facelift appearance and a platform update. The car will have an aerodynamic body kit of the already released version, a widened track with plastic wings at the front, original 17'' 5-bolt wheels, new struts and shock absorbers in the chassis, a brake system with larger-diameter discs and a lowered suspension, the ground clearance of which will be 162 mm. The salon will also undergo a number of changes. The new seats will receive improved lateral support. The dashboard will be transformed due to an updated instrument cluster, lighting and “carbon” decor. The engine will be installed at 1.8 liters with 145 hp, complemented by a 5-speed manual transmission JR5.
- S-Line. According to insiders, this prefix indicates a light version of the sports sedan. It is proposed that the sports suspension and aggressive body kit will be retained, but a different engine will be installed.
- Vesta R. According to unverified information, the car will receive an improved 1.8-liter engine with a power of up to 180 hp. or H5Ht 1.3 TCe 150 turbo engine. Also, the prefix “R” indicates the possible installation of a new body kit and revision of other parts.
Due to the lack of data on the date of entry into the market, it can be assumed that these new AvtoVAZ products will be released in 2020-2022. It is believed that they will be able to compete with the updated cars of the South Korean auto brand, expected in 2020-2021.
By the fifth anniversary of the start of production, restyling of Vesta FL is expected. It is predicted not only to update the car externally and internally, but also to install a new turbo engine with 150 hp. with a volume of 1.3 liters from Renault Arkana. The front part will receive a modern design, and there will also be maps on the doors and a central floor tunnel. The highlight of the cabin will be the “floating” touchscreen of the new multimedia system, which is combined with the climate control unit.

Lada XRAY
The crossover will receive a new robotic transmission with a working algorithm that, according to the manufacturer, allows you to change gears faster. “Robot” provides a winter mode that eliminates slipping.
The robotic gearbox will be offered on the market with a 1.6-liter engine producing 109 hp. With.
Since previously the XRAY with an automatic transmission was equipped exclusively with a 1.8 liter (122 hp) engine, the retail price due to this will decrease by 20 thousand rubles and will range from 806 to 831 thousand.
Lada Granta
The model inherited the design of the Kalina line. It is believed that this Grant is the most popular domestic passenger car in Russia. The body is available in 8 colors.
It is known that the car will be built on the Global Access “trolley”. The platform is distinguished by its versatility and great potential. As for the engine compartment, the model will still have a 1.6-liter engine. The company's official website already lists the configurations and prices for them. In total, the manufacturer announced 7 modifications. Power parameters range from 87 to 106 horsepower. As for the transmission, the company has introduced two variations:

Largus FL
The station wagon had already undergone modernization two years ago: Renault engines were replaced with domestic ones. Now is the time for external changes.
From the front, Largus will be recognizable due to the updated bumper and radiator grille, which display the X-shaped features that distinguish the VAZ line. The front light optics are identical to the Renault Logan-2.
The interior has been changed: the dashboard and center console are borrowed from Duster, the instrument panel and door cards are from XRAY. The price, depending on the purpose (van, station wagon) and design options, varies from 641 to 813 thousand rubles.
Lada Vesta Fl
The model is expected to be released at the end of 2022. There will be no significant changes in appearance. It is known that Vesta will receive a facelift. As a result, the corporate appearance will remain the same, but will acquire a new, wider radiator grille with large honeycombs. The bumper will also change. It will have more expressive chrome parts. Other innovations include full LED headlights.
The engine range will also remain the same:
- Modification on the French Renault engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters. The power of the car is 114 “horses”. This option is perfectly complemented by the newest CVT. Gearbox – automatic.
- Engine 1.6 liters and 106 hp. equipped with manual transmission.
- 1.8 liter engine with 122 horsepower with a manual transmission.
The exact cost of the new product is not yet known, but it is expected that it will be higher than the previous generation.
Niva FL
The legendary SUV, remaining with an unchanged 1.7-liter power unit and practically the body and interior of a Chevrolet Niva, has been subjected to significant changes in appearance.
The front part of the car has been redesigned - everything here is new and unusual: a raised, visually raised hood, a practical bumper combined with a radiator grille, and rear-view mirrors. The side skirts and wheel arch trims look new. More expensive trim levels have alloy wheels.
The optics have been improved: reflector headlights with a mirror reflector are now installed at the front, and LED lights at the rear.
Depending on the configuration and design, the price varies from 763 to 921 thousand rubles.
Lada Vesta SW Sport
The AvtoVAZ company plans to expand the Lada Vesta model range. The new Lada Vesta SW Sport will be available for sale no earlier than mid-2022 (closer to August). Today you can already stand in line to buy a car from official dealers. The release of the sports station wagon version is carried out in small batches, and by the beginning of 2022 it is planned to prepare up to 300 units of equipment.
Judging by the photo of the model that appeared online, we can conclude that the new product will have minor differences compared to the standard version. In the front part, the front bumper and part of the body will be modified (sills and wide fenders like a sports sedan). At the rear, modifications to the trunk lid, bumper and bifurcated exhaust system are expected. 17-inch alloy wheels are borrowed from the sports sedan.
Under the hood of the new product, 145-horsepower gasoline engines with a volume of 1.8 liters will be used, combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Compared to the sedan, the sports version of the Vesta station wagon has had its ground clearance reduced by 30 mm. Now the ground clearance is 162 mm, and an increase in track by 18 mm will have a positive effect on the quality of driving.
Lada XRAY Cross Instinct
The car drives on an automatic transmission, which guarantees comfortable driving on all types of roads. A beginner has only two pedals - gas and brake. The innovation promotes smooth acceleration while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency.
Pay attention to a few interesting details:
- black antenna in the shape of a shark fin;
- original design of two-color wheel rims;
- mirrors are painted black.
The company claims that you can go on a long trip with this car. The trunk capacity increases to 1.5 thousand liters when the second row seats are fully folded.

Lada 4×4
For a long time there have been debates about whether AvtoVAZ will continue to update the legendary Niva 4x4? The last modernization of Niva or VAZ-2121 cars took place in 2006. After this period of time, the model nevertheless underwent another restyling, and today the new product has already gone on sale. It is produced, as before, in three modifications:
- Three-door priced from 520 thousand rubles.
- Five-door - from 560 thousand rubles.
- Urban - from 625 thousand rubles.
The updated version of Lada 4x4 is characterized by the following innovations:
- a new front panel with a climate control control unit, consisting of three puck-shaped regulators;
- the size of the ventilation deflectors has been increased, and the damper controls have been equipped with electric drives;
- a new dashboard scale with a modern design;
- the appearance of a digital display of the on-board computer on the parting panel;
- interior equipped with 2 sockets, a large glove box and cup holders.
The manufacturer did not forget about comfort, which was increased by installing new seats. The mechanism for folding seat backs on three-door versions has been improved. It was possible to reduce the level of vibration from the motor by installing new motor mounts. The technical part has not been modernized, nor has the appearance. However, there is an opinion that German specialists will develop engines for the export Niva.
Lada XCode
In this model, the developers relied on a modern appearance. When you first look at the car, you will notice the compact overhangs, streamlined profile and high sill line.
Of course, the X-shapes are retained. They can be seen in the radiator grille and aluminum parts on the front bumper. Thanks to the sloping headlights, the car visually looks wider.
This time the company decided to dare to implement promising solutions. It is planned that the newcomer will receive all-wheel drive and a turbo engine. There will also be useful assistants:

In the improved interior, special attention is drawn to the front panel, where the electronic control unit for the climate system, larger air ducts, an enlarged glove compartment and instruments from Priora are located. The manufacturer took care of passengers, increasing the comfort of the seats, and provided lateral support, a heated seat system and folding in the front. The engine and gearbox remained unchanged.
Lada XRAY Cross Instinct
In March 2022, an updated version of the XRAY family from AvtoVAZ was presented - Lada XRAY Cross Instinct. This model is a Lada X-Ray Cross in the maximum configuration, which is called Instinct. A characteristic feature of the new product is the roof and mirrors, which are painted black. On the roof there is a black antenna in the shape of a shark fin. Alloy wheels have a double color, emphasizing the crossover style.
The car is equipped with a number of the following options:

- multifunction steering wheel;
- heated windshield, steering wheel and all seats;

At the head of the dashboard is an 8-inch multimedia display with a rear view camera. The multimedia system includes Yandex.Auto options, the Alice voice assistant, a 4G modem, as well as various services and browsers. The first cars are already arriving at official dealers at a starting price of 1 million 33 thousand rubles.
The car is available with two versions of power plants. The first is a VAZ 122-horsepower unit with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the second is a 113-horsepower engine from Renault-Nissan, combined with a CVT.
Niva 4×4 Vision

According to the presented photos of AvtoVAZ’s new product for 2022, the concept is distinguished by its unusual shapes and even their aggressiveness. On the side there are X-shaped stampings, larger wheels, numerous LEDs in the front and rear optics, interestingly designed handles, prominent upper parts of the turn signals and other eye-catching details.
Lada Van
There is no official production start date yet. According to the published technical documentation and posted sketches, the appearance will resemble the Renault Docker:
- X-style front;
- two sliding rear doors;
- 2-wing swing luggage door;
- roof rails, distinguished by their massiveness;
- 16'' wheel rims;
- massive optics at the front;
- fog lights located on the bumper;
- interesting taillight design.
It is planned to produce modifications: a two-seat cargo and a five-seat passenger.
The interior is characterized by simplicity combined with functionality. Drawing a parallel with the Renault Docker, we can assume the presence of a modern front panel with analog instruments placed in “wells”, a large number of niches for storing things, stylish upholstery, comfortable front seats with standard settings, and a three-seater convertible sofa in the rear.
According to insiders, it will be equipped with two options of diesel engines. The first is a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine with a power of 82 hp. The second is turbocharged with 90 horses. It is also possible to expand the line of engines.
Lada XCode 2022
The mini-crossover belongs to the Lada X-family, as evidenced by the shape of the metal body elements, optics, and interior. LEDs will be installed. Despite the lack of official information, insiders suggest it will be equipped with the current 1.6-liter gasoline engine. The manufacturer does not rule out the release of a diesel engine. The buyer will be presented with a choice of transmission: a five- or six-speed manual, or a four-speed manual.
The release of Lada Xcode 4X4 is expected. Despite improved stability, the suspension design does not provide the ability to drive off-road.
Both new AvtoVAZ products in 2022 will be equipped with cruise control and an automatic braking function.
What will the new Grant 2022-2023 be like - interior and exterior
The appearance of the new Grant will definitely be different, because the platform provides for an increase in dimensions, which means that the designers face a difficult task. On the one hand, the exterior will have to be redesigned, which will have to fit into the new platform, and on the other hand, it will be necessary to maintain the class of the car, which belongs to the budget segment. Forecasts and information from first sources indicate that the new Grant will have a more expressive and stylish appearance.
The interior is expected to undergo a redesign of the front panel, which will only have a rich appearance from the outside. For finishing it is planned to use the same inexpensive woven materials and plastic.
What's new under the hood
Perhaps Granta fans will be disappointed, but there can be no talk of changing the technical content. The same 1.6-liter units with a power reserve of 87, 98 and 106 hp will be installed under the hood. The car will be based on a 5-speed manual transmission, but for automatic transmission fans, it is planned to produce models with a 5-speed robot.
It is not yet known when the new generation of Lada Granta will be released, but the manufacturer has set the deadline for the implementation of its plans as 2022. Specialists from France and Romania are actively working on developing the design of the new product, and it is expected that the first photos will soon be shown to the general public.
