How to remove seats on Lada Largus (front, rear and 3rd row)

During repairs or modifications to cars of the Lada Largus family, it may be necessary to remove or install seats. How to do this yourself is described in the technological instructions and in the car's operating manual.

Removing the front seat right or left

Move the seat to the rearmost position.

Unscrew two bolts 1, Figure 9-1, of the front fastening of the slide to the body (replaceable Torx T30 head, knob).

Move the seat to its most forward position.

Unscrew two bolts 2 of the rear mounting of the slide to the body (replaceable Torx T30 head, wrench).

If you have heated seats, lift the seat and disconnect the wiring harness holder from the seat frame. Disconnect the seat heating wiring harness connector.

Remove the front seat and slide assembly.

Removing the rear seat right or left

Remove the rear head restraints.

Disengage the backrest locking latches and fold down the rear seat.

Unscrew two bolts 1, Figure 9-2, securing the rear seat (replaceable head 13, extension, knob).

Move the seat sideways, disengaging pin 2 of the rear seat from engagement with eye 3.

Raise the seat cushion to an upright position.

Install the seats in the reverse order of removal.

When installing the front seats, apply Fiol-1 lubricant to the rubbing surfaces of the slide. Consumption rate is 10 g per seat.

Asceticism

The main and most trivial shortcoming of Largus is his deliberate asceticism. The interior has not changed a bit since the first generation Renault Logan. The list of options contains only the required minimum, although now more buyers want to add some extras to it, such as additional heating, advanced multimedia, and electric assistants. Largus is only able to offer heated front seats, a single-din radio, ABS and rear parking sensors. There are only two airbags, the air conditioning is manually controlled.

From the outside, LADA Largus looks more like a slightly improved truck than a civilian passenger car. The situation is partly helped by the body kit of the Cross version. The long-promised automatic transmission also never appeared, as did the 1.8 engine. Commercial versions have no use for them, but many people buy Largus as a home station wagon and drive it to work every day. There are also a lot of mistakes in terms of ergonomics. If AVTOVAZ corrected at least some of these problems, the popularity of the car would immediately increase. Let's see what the future restyling will bring to Largus.

Rear seats: functionality

SECOND ROW REAR SEATS: FUNCTIONAL FEATURES

Third row rear seat access

— lower the seat headrest;

— lower the backrest onto the seat cushion and raise the folded seat;

— sit on the third row seat;

— lower the second row seat cushion;

It is prohibited to drive a vehicle in which the second row seat or its backrest is reclined while the third row seat is occupied by a passenger.

To fold down rear outboard seat A and bench seat B

— Lower the head restraints if the car is equipped with them;

— fold the backrest onto the seat cushion;

- Raise the seat to an upright position.

When moving the rear seats, make sure that there are no objects in the fastening area (there should be no stones, rags, toys, etc.).

Remove the head restraints if the vehicle is equipped with them;

Pull handles 1 and lower the seat backs.

When transporting bulky items, the rear seats can be folded down.

Pull strap 2 to raise the seat cushion to a vertical position.

For safety reasons, make all seat adjustments only while the vehicle is stationary.

Check the rear seat belts for proper installation and operation each time the rear bench seat is moved.

HOW TO FOLD THE REAR SEATS TO CREATE A BED (FLAT FLOOR)

I offer a convenient option for transforming the interior of a seven-seater Largus. Fold the backrests of the second row seats and raise the cushion until the back of the backrest is in a horizontal position. We fix this position using, for example, a rolled up jacket or blanket.

We do the same with the third row. We fill the space between the seats and the trunk with belongings. If there are not enough things, cover the gap between the rows with a sheet of plywood measuring 500x700x6 mm. Advantages of the rear row of seats

1. Comfortable seating thanks to the square door opening and high roof.

2. The additional seats in the trunk are surprisingly spacious and will comfortably accommodate two adult passengers with a height of 180 cm. Usually in 7-seater station wagons there is a 3rd row of seats for children, but in the Lada Largus this is not the case. See the interior dimensions of the Lada Largus.

3. Availability of amenities. For third-row passengers, the Lada Largus cabin has individual air ducts (running along the floor), a cup holder, a net for bottles and other things, as well as ventilation windows.

Flaws

1. When using a seat belt for the middle passenger of the 2nd row of seats, the strap passing from the rear of the cabin will interfere with the passenger of the 3rd row.

2. When using the 3rd row of seats, the trunk space of the Lada Largus is reduced to 135 liters.

A phenomenal situation has developed on the Russian market. Most families can afford one car (in the best case scenario!). A station wagon would be perfect for them, but they don’t actually offer it. The only exception is LADA, but immediately with 3 models: Kalina, Largus and Vesta SW. The first one is frankly small, the second one costs a lot and is only gaining momentum in the market. But Largus has been earning a reputation since 2012. The lack of restyling (we expect it at the end of August) does not prevent the model from taking eighth place in sales statistics. Moreover, since the beginning of the year, demand for the car has increased by more than 70%! There are several components of success.

Removing and installing seats

REMOVAL OF THE FRONT SEAT (RIGHT OR LEFT)

Move the seat to the rearmost position.

Unscrew two bolts 1, Figure 9-1, of the front fastening of the slide to the body (Torx T30 head).

Remove the rear head restraints.

Disengage the backrest locking latches and fold down the rear seat.

Unscrew two bolts 1, Figure 9-2, securing the rear seat (head “13”, extension).

THIRD ROW REAR SEAT POINT

To fold the left backrest, lower the headrest completely.

Pull up the lock lever.

To fold the seat, pull the fabric latch tab completely.

To completely remove the seat in the reclined position, pull back the locking levers of the two support locks.

Raise the seat by removing its support locks from the brackets on the base of the body.

Install the seats in the reverse order of removal.

When installing the third row rear seat into the passenger compartment, slide the support locks onto the brackets and tilt the seat back. In this case, the levers of the locking support clamps will automatically rotate to the working position and secure the seat.

When installing the front seats, apply Fiol-1 lubricant to the rubbing surfaces of the slide. Consumption rate is 10 g per seat.

At my disposal is a Largus from among the first two dozen cars that were assembled on April 4, the day Vladimir Putin blessed the launch of production. Special assembly? No, the cars from the pilot batch are no different from the production ones - for the first time in the history of AvtoVAZ, they did without the use of bypass technologies. Probably, since the days of the Fiat “penny”, this is the first VAZ car that entered the assembly line immediately with all the standard components.

Why doesn't AvtoVAZ copy the list of suppliers that supply Avtoframos with parts? Because they decided to look for suppliers as close to Tolyatti as possible - logistics are cheaper this way. But production of Largus started immediately with a 50% localization level - this is only slightly lower than now at Avtoframos (60%). And our immediate plans include conquering the 72 percent milestone! True, this will happen closer to 2014, not before the start of assembly of a manual transmission and one of the two 1600 cc engines - the sixteen-valve K4M (for now it is being imported from Spain, and the simpler eight-valve K7M - from Romania).

Are there any differences from the “original” - the Romanian Dacia MCV produced since 2006? Eat. Largus is, rather, a modified Russian Logan with a station wagon body. Before the start of production, VAZ carried out endurance tests - not accelerated ones, as we do in Autoreview, but long, 180-thousandth tests, on a training ground and on ordinary roads up to the Caucasian mountain serpentines, with towing a trailer and laboratory work. And we found something to improve.

Firstly, the Largus' steering knuckles now have dirt-protecting covers (we were convinced of the poor protection of wheel bearings from dust and sand during our life test of the Renault Sandero), and in the basic Standard version without an anti-lock braking system, the empty spaces for ABS sensors are closed for the same purpose plugs. Secondly, Largus has reinforced front suspension arms, stamped from a sheet with a thickness of not 2.5 mm, but 3 mm (initially, these were installed only on Dacia Logan cars with van and pickup bodies). By the way, note to the owners of Sandero and Logan: nothing prevents the implementation of “reverse unification”.

The Largus also increased its ground clearance by 20 mm compared to the Logan - and expanded the “waterline” of the anti-gravel coating by 70 mm, improving protection against “sandblasting” (now the sills are also protected on the sides). The front wheel arches received standard mudguards, and the rear wheel arches received plastic flange protection. The front bumper has hardly changed in appearance, but the clamps of the lower grille have been strengthened (by the way, on the Duster undergoing our life tests, it constantly “unfastens” due to shaking), and on the cheaper fog lights from Granta implanted into the bumper, during our test drive Largus managed AvtoVAZ itself also saved money - one of the cars got a black eye from a stone flying from the road.

The first thought in the cabin of the new Largus: there is no smell of Lada here, literally or figuratively! But there is also no smell familiar from Logans, Sanderos and Dusters - the materials are different. And the second thought - how much free space there is! It is not for nothing that “Largus” is translated not only as “generous”, but also as “extensive”. Exactly.

The space above your head is almost like in the Renault Kangoo, the back is freer than in the Logan, and the gallery is a completely different matter: in the 560-liter trunk, a couple of bags look lonely. With the middle row folded, the luggage compartment volume is 2.5 cubic meters!

The third row of passengers can accommodate even tall adults! True, the seating position here is low and not very comfortable - the floor of the body is high, making it difficult to climb back, and you can’t fit your feet under the middle row seat. In my opinion, the VAZ team, having seated Largus in the third row of their old parents in the third row, got carried away... There are no amenities in the back, except for a couple of recesses-cup holders in the side panels and slightly opening windows, but the seven-seater versions have an air duct under the middle row of seats - without it in In our cold weather, the passengers sitting in the “trunk” would quickly become numb.

It’s a pity that the air duct was the only serious result of working on the bugs in the cabin. Unfortunate angle of the center console with low climate control knobs, inconveniently placed power window buttons in different places and a horn button on the top of the left steering column lever... Everything is Logan's! And the nicer overlays on the instruments and center console and the more advanced Daewoo “music” with Bluetooth and USB (functionally similar, but with a different front panel is installed on the Duster) are not enough - the translation of the name as “rich” does not suit Largus categorically.

But during the day at the VAZ test site and five hundred kilometers across the Zhiguli Mountains and Samarskaya Luka, I managed to understand that Largus is still more comfortable than Logan: for example, thanks to different front seats with a more convenient “elevator” handle on the side of the pillow. There is a smooth, rather than stepwise, adjustment of the backrest tilt, and most importantly, variable lumbar support (chairs of this design are installed on all Iranian, but for some reason not on Russian Logans).

Largus’s character is like that of a two-faced Janus. It depends a lot on the load. A light 105-horsepower engine is at least enough - if you really want to, you can play around with it. But it shakes quite a lot, especially in the gallery, and on a “washboard” road, the suspension with the stiffest springs for the “general Logan” B0 platform brings the body to a nervous, resonant shudder.


Mikhail Ryabov, director of the Cars on the B0 platform project, himself drives a Largus in one of the development batches: “I like the car - it’s nice to drive on the roads, and you can go fishing with friends. What’s also pleasing is that we accomplished the main task - keeping the car in the affordable price range in which we planned.”

I call six fellow travelers, and Largus instantly transforms: the smoothness of the ride becomes almost limousine-like, with the excellent energy intensity of the suspension remaining above suspicion. But what a sad ride! Even the more powerful sixteen-valve engine goes sour. On the test track road I try to simulate overtaking at a speed of about a hundred. I press the gas pedal to the floor in fifth gear - zero response, switch down to fourth - the same picture, switch to third - there is a lot of noise, but little sense. Eh, a two-liter engine or a 1500 cc diesel, like in Europe, would be here, but this topic, alas, is closed: expensive.

But the chassis, even though it comes from the nineties, will give a head start to many more recent designs. With a “carriage” base of 2900 mm, only a blast wave can knock Largus off the chosen path even at a maximum of 165 km/h - there is no yaw or vertical swing. Even on a completely broken road and mediocre Amtel tires, the grip is what you need! And when cornering, I never regretted the absence of a stabilization system: the Largus can only be pulled into a skid by hooligan actions with the handbrake, and if you frankly go too far with the speed, the newly made Lada slides outward with all four wheels.

This would include an even clearer gear shift mechanism (the appearance of an “automatic” is still a big question mark - and again because of the high cost)... As on the Logan, the gearbox lever is like jelly in the way.

You'll have to get used to it: taking into account the restyling already planned in five years, Largus will live on the assembly line until 2023! I don’t know how it will be in ten years, but for now I regret more that this Lada did not appear with us earlier - today it is the best car of the domestic brand! And a bargain. From July 1, Largus will begin to be sold at prices ranging from 349 thousand rubles for the basic five-seater version to 450 thousand rubles for the seven-seater Luxury - and I am ready to recommend this Lada to my friends in the same way as I previously recommended Renault Logan or Sandero. If only AvtoVAZ made it no less efficiently than Renault. Can he handle it?

The best all-rounder for the price

This argument became decisive in the choice for most buyers.

Reliability

The myth that a foreign car cannot be adapted to harsh Russian conditions better than eternal Russian cars was dispelled first by the Renault Logan, and then by its derivative LADA Largus. This car is truly very reliable and durable. Examples of operation in taxis and the commercial sector are the clearest confirmation of this. B0 platform units are undemanding, their design has been tested for years.

Replacing French engines with VAZ ones only added advantages to the model. They turned out to be no worse in terms of resource, but at the same time stronger, more “instant” and more economical. In addition, an increase in the percentage of localization helped to curb price increases.

Editorial Largus, working in ZR since 2012, was no exception to the rule. Over more than 120,000 km of mileage, it required minor unscheduled interventions, and they turned out to be uncritical and non-disastrous.

Comfortable seats, but... not a good fit

Most owners praise the seats and interior of the restyled version. If only we could add reach-adjustable steering wheel!
