What are the main problems of LADA Granta

As you know, Grants are equipped with two types of engines - some engines of early assemblies have four pairs of valves, while others have eight pairs of valves. So, eight-valve engines fail their owners in inclement weather due to ECU leaks.

Very often, even with advanced 16-valve engines, generators, or rather their bearings, fail, accompanied by a sore sound in the form of a whistle.

  • Frequent, distracting and annoying error code signals indicating problems with active safety. But in fact, these could be problems with the seat belt buckle, or rather with the belt fixation sensor, as well as due to problems with the Airbag control unit;
  • in fact, problems associated with the operation of the on-board computer require a separate discussion due to the fact that, unlike anti-Covid applications for Moscow, Russian IT stuffing cannot be boasted of;
  • frankly weak noise insulation of the cabin. Moreover, external sounds penetrate into the cabin not only when driving at high speeds on federal highways, but also even in conditions of measured traffic on city roads;
  • the appearance of rust in doorways;
  • In addition to the whistle of interior crickets, the front disc brakes often begin to whistle. Which is annoying to such an extent that the pads have to be changed almost every 15 thousand mileage;
  • if a whistle is heard in the cabin and from the front end, then the operation of the transmission is accompanied by the whine of gears, which also contributes to the appearance of nervousness among users of these facelifted Grants.

Transmission

The main purpose of the transmission is to transfer torque from the engine crankshaft to the wheels. The elements of which it consists have the following names:

  • A clutch, which is two friction discs pressed against each other, which connect the engine crankshaft to the gearbox shaft. This connection of the shafts of the two mechanisms is made detachable so that, by pressing the disks, it is possible to break the connection between the engine and the gearbox, to change gears and change the speed of rotation of the wheels.

  • Gearbox (or gearbox). This unit is used to change the speed and direction of movement of the car.

At the dawn of release, Grants could not boast of sound insulation even if they were rated satisfactory. Later, the plant introduced an expanded Shumka package for expensive trim levels, and now it is included in all versions. And rightly so: the budget Lada, even in the luxury version, is by no means quiet - where else can you save?

For its price, Granta has acceptable sound insulation. Nothing outstanding, but compared to similar cars from the first releases - heaven and earth! So, if you have a pre-restyling car, this may be one of the reasons for replacement.

Layout Grants Lux series

Car Lada Granta Luxury version of the budget version. The interior of the car is upholstered in two-tone fabric. The automatic transmission in 4th gear is quite reliable and functional. The car is equipped with a split-system, electric accessories and a separate steering column drive from an electric motor. The steering wheel height is adjusted. The side windows are raised and lowered using an electric lift. However, the glass is not completely removed. The computer is installed on the dashboard between the power display panel and the odometer. Its location is shown more clearly in photo 7. The sedan car is equipped with speakers at four points and a modern multimedia system.

Car security systems are represented by the following set of devices in the maximum version:

  • two AirBags installed in the front for the passenger and driver;
  • separate clamps for Baby Auto Chair;
  • head pads for all five passengers;
  • inertia seat belts for 5 people;
  • ABS system;
  • The front bumper is equipped with fog lights.

What's included extra? In this case, the equipment is the maximum. The Lada Granta Lux multimedia is a seven-inch screen kit with a built-in set of programs responsible for radio operation, SD card playback and reading information from USB drives. It also allows you to view video and photo files. Synchronizes with a mobile device via Bluetooth to turn on the speakerphone channel. Multimedia Grants underwent a slight modernization in 2014.
