In honor of the 40th anniversary of the start of production of the Niva 4x4 (since 1977), AvtoVAZ released an anniversary version of the SUV called LADA 4x4 40 Anniversary. One of the distinctive features of this modification is the new color scheme, consisting of three different colors (camouflage).

Some anniversary Lada 4x4s are painted in the new color “Jungle Camouflage” (code 820). The mottled surface is created by a combination of three colors - light green, dark green and black. This is the first time such a body color has been done at the factory! Camouflage Nivas will also feature completely black bumpers and wheels. The price of the anniversary Lada 4X4 is in the range of 558,900 - 626,900 rubles (depending on body type and configuration).

AvtoVAZ has published a new price list valid from April 6 for the Lada 4x4, that is, the classic Niva. Prices have remained virtually unchanged, except that the Standard and Luxury Air Conditioner versions have become six thousand more expensive: 489,900 and 527,900 rubles, respectively. But the main highlight is the new, already tenth in the palette, color option called “Jungle Camouflage”.

We already saw this militaristic livery a year ago on cars of a limited special series, prepared for the model’s fortieth anniversary. But now anyone can order a camouflage Niva - provided that it is a three-door car in the Lux or Lux Air Conditioner configuration (with factory index 1 or 21214-58-014, respectively).

The price of the option is considerable: 29 thousand rubles. It is caused by the difficulty of applying metallic paint: the body is first painted black, and then light green and dark green patterns are applied on top. As a result, the most affordable “camouflage” Lada 4x4 costs 534,900 rubles, and the version with air conditioning costs 556,900 rubles, 17 thousand more expensive than the Black Edition and 10 thousand more than the Lada 4x4 Urban.

Car varnishing

At the final stage, we apply automotive varnish with a matte effect to the painted body - it will create a velvety surface structure. Varnishing is carried out using the usual technology of applying varnish to a car body.

Before varnishing, add solvent and fixer to the varnish. We maintain the proportions, strictly following the instructions. The varnish is applied in several layers. As a rule, the bottom one has a thinner consistency, and the top one has the thickest consistency.

Before applying the next layer, let the previous one dry thoroughly. We carry out the check by lightly touching the fingers - if they do not get stuck, you can proceed to the next stage. After varnishing, allow time to dry. After this, the work can be considered completed.

4 cans of each color;
vinyl film;
sponge and polish;
matte varnish for cars;
0.5 liters of solvent grade 469;
0.2 liters of gasoline;
7 cm painting spatula;
dry, clean flannel rags;

Preparing the car for painting

Before you start painting your car, it needs to be properly prepared. This process consists of the following steps:

Wash the car thoroughly with detergent, removing dirt and dust from it.
We wait until the car is completely dry. We can wipe it dry with clean rags.

Car painting

Let's look step by step at what it looks like to paint a car in camouflage with your own hands. It is best to carry out work in a well-lit garage, where there is no dust that could interfere with the painting process. Good levels of lighting and ventilation must be provided. After this you can start working:

We cut out large fragments from the vinyl film and make slits in them, which will later become stains.
We glue the cut out fragments randomly onto the body, after which we apply a layer of black enamel from an aerosol can onto the cut out areas. We wait for the paint to dry and apply the second layer.
We paste the film prepared for brown spots. The main condition here is that the brown spots overlap with the previously applied black ones. Apply a layer of enamel from an aerosol can, wait until it dries and apply a second layer.
We paste stencils for the green color. We observe the same condition: the green spots should overlap with the black and brown ones. It should be borne in mind that green is the lightest color, so we put as many layers as needed so that there is no bleed through of the lower layers.
After this, we remove all the vinyl from the body and inspect the quality of the paint. If you want to avoid clear boundaries of the spots, you can complete the finishing touches using airbrushing.
