Required

: gear knob from a foreign car. This example uses a BMW gearshift lever. The owner bought the selector assembly (at an auto repair shop or through an ad on the Internet). The gearshift knob should be removed from the selector.

The fastenings of the BMW gearshift knob and the LADA rod do not match, so the installation method is radical.

1. Shorten the gear knob of a foreign car.
2. Make a rectangular hole in the gearshift knob rod.
3. Hammer cold welding Abro into the hole for forming.

1. Insert the gearshift knob onto the rod at an angle.
2. Secure the gear knob with epoxy glue.

Installation

This process directly depends on whether there is a cover on the handle. However, there is no plastic frame included, so in any case you will have to install a standard one.

Case in stock

If there is one, you need to remove the factory plastic frame by unfastening it from the standard case. These components are secured using metal brackets. They need to be straightened with a knife or screwdriver.

After this, the frame is placed on the cover of a new leather Lada Vesta or X-Ray handle. To install, you will need to use an awl or a needle to pierce holes in the leather for the removed staples, then place them in the holes on the frame and bend them back.

After this, all that remains is to put the handle back on the lever.

Without case

In this case, you will have to use the factory case, so everything is a little simpler. You need to disconnect the cover directly from the handle, and then attach it to the purchased new leather gear knob of the Lada Vesta or X-Ray, securing it with a plastic clamp.

Installation of such an accessory is simpler in the sense that you do not have to waste time rearranging the factory frame.
