The only reason why AvtoVAZ refused to install a hydraulic automatic transmission was the rather high cost of the unit, because this automaker does not have its own automatic transmission, so it is necessary to use products from other companies.

The only supplier of automatic transmissions for AvtoVAZ is the Japanese company Jatco, owned by Nissan. Considering that the Russian auto giant is a subsidiary of the French Renault and more than half of the shares belong to the Renault-Nissan alliance, it was logical to install automatic transmissions of its own production on all Ladas. However, even in this case, the cost of a hydraulic automatic transmission is 90 thousand rubles, so only AMT (60 thousand rubles) and manual transmission (25–30 thousand rubles) were installed on the Priora.

The Jatco JF414E automatic transmission is fully compatible with both the body and all power units of the Lada Priora, so when installing it you won’t have to cut or overcook anything. However, installing such a transmission instead of a manual transmission or a robot is a change in the design of the car, so it can only be done after obtaining permission from the traffic police. Such permission is a formality, but to obtain it you will need to contact technical experts, because without their positive verdict you will not sign an application to change the design at the traffic police.

Installation is carried out using fastening units that are attached to the crankshaft pulley. Power increases due to the enrichment of the fuel-air mixture, but it also has its negative qualities. After installation, fuel consumption increases significantly, which leads to rapid wear of the fuel system and accumulation of paraffins.

From the point of view of comparing useful and negative qualities, turbocharging wins due to increased efficiency, but at the same time without spending a large amount of fuel. A mechanical supercharger, or in our case a supercharger, takes some of the energy from the engine, while the turbocharger works exclusively on the energy of exhaust gases. The only cost will be that the turbocharger takes about 10 liters. pp., in order to overcome the resistance arising from the gases of the exhaust manifold. Here you can also find some negative aspects, at least in the fact that the turbocharger requires a lot of careful maintenance, due to the lack of depressurization of the connections. That is why racing enthusiasts, when using turbocharging, must ensure constant oil changes to ensure its cleanliness and the flow of coolant.

If you increase the design volume of the cylinders, you can increase the engine power without any problems. This work is carried out after boring the cylinder blocks and turning the remaining walls, and this will give a large volume of the combustion chamber. The friction of the pistons immediately stops rubbing against the cylinder walls, which adds ease to the rotation of the crankshaft and a subsequent increase in power, and at the same time the dynamic impact on the piston system increases. There is another method that is designed to increase the volume of cylinder blocks. To do this you need to use low pistons, but the crankshaft must be high. With such changes, the stroke length of the piston connecting rod changes. The piston begins to rise higher into the combustion chamber, which increases the level of fuel compression, and then lowers, creating more rarefaction there. This significantly changes the ventilation of the entire system, making it better, which leads to a faster enrichment of the fuel-air mixture.

If you continue to work and modify the cylinder head, then the engine power will increase not only at low, but also at high speeds due to the increase in engine volume.

To replace the light bulbs in the Priora panel, you only need a short Phillips screwdriver.

First, the screws located above the speedometers are unscrewed.
There is a plastic panel under the steering column. It is held on by three latches, which you just need to turn and the panel will come off. There are 2 bolts under it (one to the right of the column, the other to the left of it). Unscrew with a Phillips screwdriver.
Now the steering wheel is set to its lowest position, and the unscrewed plastic trim is carefully pulled out. There is no need to remove the steering wheel.
On the instrument block, on the left and right, there are mounting eyes with screws. They need to be unscrewed. In this case, you need to make sure that the washers under the screws do not fall out - it will be difficult to find them later.
After unscrewing the screws, the instrument unit is pulled out of the niche approximately halfway. Access to the electrical wiring harness is provided. It has a plastic block with a latch. You can open this latch by pressing on it with a screwdriver. But people with thin fingers can do this manually.
The instrument unit, disconnected from the wires, is removed from the niche. Turning it over, you can see the sockets for the light bulbs. Incandescent lamps are unscrewed and white LEDs are installed instead. Then the instrument unit is reassembled.
