In 1990, they began to develop the Lux version - the VAZ 21065 with the usual engine like the VAZ 2106 and a contactless ignition system, a Solex carburetor, halogen headlights, modified headrests and improved upholstery. And the export modification of the VAZ 21064 differed from the VAZ 21065 in a different bumper and a slightly different electrical circuit. significantly reduced engine noise and increased gasoline efficiency. And by the end of the 1980s, this model with modifications still remained the most popular in the VAZ program. Even the massive release of the low-power VAZ 21063 onto the market and the deterioration in the quality of components and assembly in the 1990s did not affect the decline. Over time, the car became very affordable and moved into the category of “workhorses”. He still has a constant army of fans.
