As for the double glass package with tinting, they both rise using an electric motor. To install automatic tinting on a VAZ, we need another glass lift, it comes with an extended cable.

To fasten the 1st, a 12mm hexagon with an internal thread for the leash is used, the end of which is attached to the bolt securing the door handle. At the bottom, the fastener resembles the letter “T”, the base of which is attached to the door. It turns out that the ESP is extended by a plate, which is attached with 2 screws to the bottom of the door body, where the drain holes for water are located. There are some subtleties when installing a double glass package: if there is sound insulation inside the door, then it will have to be partially removed, as it interferes with the installation of automatic tinting. We cut out a piece from the door reinforcement, in other words, after the second glass is completely installed, the door will lose the reinforcement.

Automatic tinting is a naturally convenient accessory, but its installation raises many questions. for example, it is worth removing the door reinforcement for this. In addition, this installation will cost you a pretty penny. Some motorists say that when using it, the glass gets scratched and sand gets between them.

How does it work

The operating principle of electrically controlled tinting is quite simple:

1. After the second set of power windows and tinted front windows are installed on the car, the car owner does not have to worry about fines for tinting.

What the law says

Legislation on this issue changes regularly, but at the moment no one has the right to remove license plates for tinting. If you use tint, you may be fined 500 rubles. It is important to take into account that the light transmittance of glass should vary at 70 percent.

It’s worth talking separately about the windshield. Motorists can apply a 14cm strip at the top edge. All countries approach this issue differently. For example, in California it is prohibited to use a car that does not have tinting with a special inclusion of metal. The inclusion is necessary in order to reflect sunlight, it prevents such a phenomenon as overheating of the interior.

At the moment, license plates are not removed for tinting; the maximum you can get for it is a fine of 500 rubles.

Installation

The first thing you need to consider when planning to make double glazing is the need to modify the doors.

1. We make a solution for the surface from shampoo and warm water.
2. It is poured into a spray bottle, after which you can wash the glass well on both sides.
3. All seals must be removed.
4. Cut out the required piece of film for gluing.

2. Using a special knife, remove the excess.

2. The film is sprayed with a solution; it can be corrected until the glue has completely dried.

4. The combined double-glazed window increases the sound insulation of the interior.

Among the shortcomings, several conditions can be identified related to the fact that such technology is not performed at a professional level; all work is carried out by self-taught specialists.

Based on this, the following can be highlighted:

1. In addition to applying tinting, installation of a second glass and window regulator is required. This increases the cost of work.
2. Installation can only be carried out by a person familiar with auto electricians.
3. If the connection is incorrect, the resulting small space between the windows is constantly clogged with dust, which obstructs visibility and makes the appearance of the car unattractive. Sometimes it is impossible to wash it at home.
4. The effect of double glass is a useful thing, but dust will constantly clog between them. Therefore, you will have to visit the car wash more often.
5. During operation, unpleasant sounds may appear.
6. The second glass and additional window lift increase the weight of the door.
7. The result will be rapid wear of the lock and sagging hinges. You need to be prepared for this.

Another disadvantage of the method is that if the driver is caught by a traffic police officer, first of all, the latter, surprised at the driver’s intelligence, will not force him to remove the film, as often happens, but will issue a fine of 500 rubles. He will be based on the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, Article 12.5. clause 3 “Driving a car in the presence of a malfunction or condition that does not allow its operation.” In this case, there is a violation of the Traffic Rules, clause 7.3 of the List of Faults, “Additional elements have been installed or a coating has been applied that limits the view from the driver’s seat.”

Everything is clear with “coverings” and “objects”: they shouldn’t exist. Tinting is more difficult. The traffic inspector must prove that its light transmittance is below the legal limit (75% for the windshield, 70% for the front side windows). For this purpose, a device is used, the rules of use of which are regulated. In particular, the weather outside and the level of natural light matter.

If you get caught in a targeted raid, the patrol will most likely have the tool. Usually the traffic cop presses on the obviousness of the violation. Agreeing with him is the good will of the driver. Without instrumental measurements, the law enforcement officer has no evidence.

After the decree is issued, you can lock the car and go further by bus or taxi: it is not prohibited for a car with tinting to stand still. If you move away, the motorist again falls under Article 12.5.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences: nowhere in the law is it stated how often one can be fined for this violation - at least every 100 meters.
