When did production begin, its features
In September 2022, the manufacturing process of the Lada Vesta car began. Two months later, the product is released for sale. At first, the model was seen as another failure, but today Lada Vesta is being sold in fairly large quantities, along with some foreign cars. The advantages of the car include:

To free up space for production, the option of moving the Granta liftback to Togliatti is being considered, where Kalina and Datsun models are currently assembled.
Perhaps most of all, car enthusiasts are interested not in the volume of the trunk and its characteristics, but primarily in the price, but, unfortunately, it has not yet been announced. But you can make a tentative forecast now. The Kalina station wagon is 15,000 rubles more expensive than the hatchback, the higher-end Kia Ceed SW is 30,000 rubles more expensive than the hatchback. Vesta sedan is now offered at a price of 546 thousand rubles, it can be assumed that a regular station wagon will start from 560 - 570 thousand rubles, subject to similar equipment.
With the price of the Cross version, everything adds up a little. Nicolas More, the head of AvtoVAZ, previously announced a cost of 800,000 rubles, but he was probably talking about the top version. But how much the base will cost, and most importantly, what equipment it will have, is still quite difficult to guess.

Initially, it was assumed that the new Lada Vesta would be assembled at the main plant in Tolyatti. An assembly line was even set up, but overall it turned out to be not entirely profitable. And, this car required some cost adjustment to be made in order to prevent the price from being excessively inflated and to fall into the corridor allocated by marketers.
Therefore, it was decided that the new Lada Vesta would be produced at a ready-made test site in Izhevsk. Some parts are produced in the workshops of the main enterprise. That is, at the moment there are two fully operational production lines for the Lada Vesta car. However, one of them is currently not fully loaded.

The new Vesta is also tested on a test track with six types of surfaces, which are most often found in our open spaces. There are “combs”, “cobblestones”, and “speed bumps”. In all this, they check not so much the car’s suspension, but rather the quality of the build - creaks, extraneous noises, etc.
There is another unusual approach: the so-called AVES (Alliance Vehicle Estimation Standard). Here the inspector examines selected cars from the lot with the pickiness of a future buyer, literally stroking him from all sides.

Since the end of 2012, the plant has been practicing the “kaizen” philosophy. It is based on the Japanese production philosophy, which means constant improvement and obtaining maximum effect at minimum cost. For the production process, this means, first of all, a reduction in labor intensity, an increase in the efficiency of using working time, and, as a consequence, an increase in labor productivity and a reduction in costs.
For example, the plant’s specialists developed and implemented a number of interesting solutions: synchronized conveyors for supplying components, automatic body grippers. Almost all production facilities use automatic trolleys that deliver the necessary parts to the line along given routes.

Constant improvement, increased ergonomics, cleanliness and order in the production premises and at each workplace, clean work clothes, controlled movements of personnel, nothing more - this is to explain in a nutshell what the implemented production system is. It is important that continuous improvement and a clean plant are in the minds of every plant employee. The team actively implements kaizens, bringing their workplaces to ideal ergonomics.

All three Vesta radiators from the French brand Valeo (a well-known component manufacturer) are distinguished by good workmanship, in no way inferior to their world analogues. During dismantling, it was difficult to suspect that the radiators were assembled in Tolyatti at Valeo’s own production site.
By the way, the competence of the employees of the hotline of the Russian representative office of Valeo (where we were transferred to answer questions) was called into question. They couldn’t say exactly what was being assembled at the Valeo site in Nizhny Novgorod, and when asked about production in Togliatti, we were told that there was no confidence that it was working at all, although the press service of AvtoVAZ firmly confirmed the opposite.
Chechenavto
Few people know, but car production in the Chechen Republic has been established since 2008. Therefore, knowledgeable people were not surprised by Ramzan Kadyrov’s statement that the launch of Lada Vesta in the republic will take place in 2022. But there is no official confirmation from AvtoVAZ managers yet. According to their statements, this issue is being coordinated.
Let's take a closer look at the prospects of this endeavor. For the production of the Vesta machine, there is already a production base here. Now the Lada Priora is being produced here, which is expected to be removed from the assembly line in the very near future. Stopping the ChechenAvto plant is not very profitable from all points of view.
