For example, the online magazine "Autoreview" tested fuel with different octane numbers (on Renault Sandero and Hyundai Solaris), and came to the conclusion that a car with more expensive fuel (AI95) accelerates better and is more economical. The majority of VAZ owners also think so (survey). Experts from the Zarulem magazine write that driving the 92 will be a little cheaper, and driving the 95 will be a little more fun. But what is more important here is not the octane number of gasoline, but its overall quality level.

Against. There are studies that showed no difference between fuels with different octane numbers. There is also an opinion that AI95 gasoline contains too many additives, which can negatively affect engine operation.

Yesterday, for the sake of experiment, I filled it with 95 gasoline. It may be a matter of self-hypnosis, but the car felt more dynamic and picked up speed faster from the bottom. There is still time while there is gas in the tank, but for now I’m inclined to switch to 95 permanently

The increasingly popular model from AvtoVAZ Lada Xray appeared on the market in 2022. It is classified as a small crossover or off-road hatchback. The car was developed on the Lada Vesta platform, but has a higher quality, which was immediately noted by experts and buyers. Among the advantages of the model are noted:

  1. comfort and recognizable modern design;
  2. high-quality finishing materials;
  3. soft reliable suspension;
  4. increased ground clearance;
  5. convenient control at any speed;
  6. reliable gasoline engines.

One of the advantages of the Lada X Ray is its economical fuel consumption, which sets it apart from other compact off-road vehicles. The car in different versions is equipped with a manual and automatic transmission with front-wheel drive.

And what are the consequences of regularly refueling with high-quality 98 gasoline instead of 95? Let's say you drive a Lada Priora; its power unit is not familiar with such fuel. It enters the combustion chamber, but, as already mentioned, it burns more slowly. Accordingly, the fuel mixture is still processed by the engine for some time, and the gas exhaust system has long since opened. The hot mixture rushes along the opened path, the valves of the unit become heated, and after a short time they burn out.

As a result, the driver will face a major overhaul of the engine. In engines constantly running on such fuel, there is an automatic adjustment, which allows the engine to adapt to gasoline and, accordingly, adjust the opening/closing of valves.

Well, I’ve been driving a Shelovsky 95 for more than a month and the driving sensations are completely different, the variator works like a clock, without kicks or hesitations, the engine spins with a bang, acceleration dynamics have appeared like no other, the engine sound has become quieter at idle and even seems to purr nobly. Otherwise, after 6 months of driving the 92, the engine seemed like a complete vegetable and even began to irritate.

I’ve been riding h4m and K4m for a long time, already 10 years, I can say for myself 100%! The cast-iron K4m calmly digested the 92nd, without detonation, I took the H4m, this one detonates heavily at 92, it was leaking at first, but it’s a pity for the engine, especially on the variator that keeps this engine at the lowest speeds! Therefore, H4M is only from 95th! To hear the ringing of fingers on 92 gasoline, you just need to open the window, especially audible in the tunnel and from the fences that you drive through!

I collided. My previous yard had a 1.8 engine and it didn’t really care what kind of gasoline to fill in, it drove the same on any one. The new car has a Nissan engine, and imagine my surprise when I was forced to fill up with 92 (gasoline was drained at the gas station and the 95 pumps didn’t work) and it drove noticeably worse... I think both... here you have an imported engine, but it doesn’t matter, the main thing is to know, and right away they fill it with the best possible gasoline, it feels like the Shell 95 pover drives best. In short, keep in mind that it is better to pour gasoline.

If you press a little for successful acceleration, it will already stay in the region of 2500 - 3500 (we are approaching the maximum torque speed = maximum pressure in the CV). This means: strictly not lower than 95. At ambient temperatures. air 30 and above, 98+ is highly desirable. In the summer I drive at 100 (in Nsk it’s no longer easy to find 98), in cold weather (autumn, winter, spring) it’s 95. This rule generally works successfully for all modern engines (even for VAZ ones).

PS: it happened recently, the weather was rainy, the temperature was about 20. I got to the gas station, saw that 100 was closed (ran out or something), so I filled up with 30 liters of 95. Literally the next day it warmed up to 27. So what do you think? Again, dull acceleration, not fast acceleration, CarScanner rolls back on all three cylinders. I decided what the hell, it’s getting really sad in the heat. I barely finished 30 liters and filled in 100. Everything was fine in the heat.
