Three engine options are available:

• 8-valve VAZ-2116 engine with a power of 90 horsepower;

• The 16-valve VAZ-21127 engine, which produces 106 horsepower, wins in terms of efficiency and reliability.

The base engine of the Lada Priora 2171 model is a gasoline, four-stroke, four-cylinder (cylinders are arranged in a row) 16-valve VAZ-21127 engine with distributed injection. This engine appeared after the VAZ-21126 engine was modified to improve the intake system. How to increase the clearance in your car? If you install wheels with an increased diameter and profile, then the ground clearance will certainly “increase”. It is interesting to consider an example of such forced action when using wide 215x55xR15 tires. With an increase in profile by 5%, the increase in clearance is 1 mm. Adding another five percent to the profile will increase the clearance by 2.5 mm.

If you are inclined to increase the wheel size, you should take a look at the factory recommendations. The maximum size of factory-installed tires reaches 185x60xR14 for the standard version of the Lada Kalina 2 and 185x55xR15 for the Cross version. Theoretically, it is possible to install a tire size of 195x40xR17, however, one should take into account the risk of tires hitting the wheel arches when driving over uneven surfaces and other consequences for the suspension that can cause its premature wear due to the increased weight of the wheels.

Also, an increased tire height can shift the center of gravity upward, which will worsen handling. Another important aspect is the danger of deformation of the rubber profile of the tire under the influence of the same increased weight. Here again there is a risk of rollover when cornering at increased speed, because body roll inevitably increases.

Algorithm of actions during installation

We will describe the process of installing a trunk on your car:

1. First you need to open your car door;
2. After this you will need to remove the rubber seal. This should be done from the back door to the front;
3. Then you should open the mounting holes, which are sealed with electrical tape;
4. After this, you can begin the fitting installation of roof rails on the Lada Kalina. After installing the structure, you should mark with a marker the places for installing brackets and plastic fairings;
5. When the marking is completed, you need to remove the roof rails;
6. According to the finished markings, the contact area between the roof and the trunk should be degreased with alcohol, after which it should be treated with an adhesion activator. This can be done with a simple napkin;
7. If during the trial installation you notice that the brackets do not fit tightly to the mounting area on the body, then it needs to be taped with double-sided tape. All mounting holes that are not useful must be sealed with electrical tape;
8. Now you need to remove small fragments of the protective coating from the double-sided tape that is glued to the plastic fairings and bend them outward;
9. After this, you can install the roof rails on the Lada Kalina, but the bolts should not be tightened tightly;
10. Then you should install the fairings;
11. Now you need to carefully grasp the folded edges of the double-sided tape and remove the protective layer. This should be done along the contour of the fairings;
12. After this, it is necessary to tightly tighten the front mounting bolt, followed by the rear one;
13. By pressing firmly from above, you should finally fix the fairings, and then press the edges;
14. At the end, you need to put the seal in place, inspect the results of the work done and erase the markings.
