Budget family station wagons, as well as commercial small vans produced by the domestic automaker, have become extremely popular and sold out over the past few years. The cost of such cars, including the Lada Largus 2022, is quite acceptable, plus there are fewer and fewer complaints from car owners regarding build quality. Among other things, Largus from Lada must undergo a long-awaited restyling, and very soon we will find out whether the new model will be presented in a new body, and what changes are coming. So, according to available information, the Lada Largus 2022 will have to please potential buyers with its even more modern and stylish design, as well as a comfortable interior, while the technical characteristics will remain unchanged. This has its own advantage: the price tag for a car in a new body will not rise.
External changes of the new Lada Largus
It is known for certain that the new model will not be upgraded immediately, but gradually, which will again allow the cost not to increase. Lada Largus 2022 will receive decorative elements in the X-style, and will receive slightly redesigned optics. All this will help refresh the exterior of the car and will stand out favorably against the background of the previous generation model.
Judging by the available photos, most of the changes will affect the front part. Most likely, Largus will receive a massive and not high “front” in the X-style from the Lada Vesta. The hood will be complemented by relief patterns characteristic of Vesta, and a large slope; the head optics will receive a polygonal shape and slope. The radiator grille will have chrome elements located horizontally. The body kit will complement and continue the line of the upper part of the model.
There will be virtually no changes on the sides of the car in the new body. The windows will remain the same: medium in size, separated from each other by massive mullions. The mirrors will be the same rounded, but slightly larger. The wheel arches will be widened, and the skirt will be clearly visible, and above it will remain the classic Largus strip of plastic.
The rear of the new car will receive improved optics; these are perhaps all the changes that will affect the exterior of Largus this time. As before, there will be two all-metal doors of different sizes, this is if you buy a van, and if you give preference to a station wagon, then small glazing will appear on the doors. Nothing new will appear on the bumper; the tow eye and reflectors on the sides will remain unchanged.
Specifications
The 2022 Lada Largus retains the same design. This means that the Russian station wagon is based on MacPherson struts, complemented by a stabilizer, and a semi-independent rear suspension with a torsion beam. Almost all modifications come with power steering. Each trim level also includes a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine with a distributed fuel injection system and an electronic control unit, and a 5-speed manual transmission.
In initial versions, this engine develops no more than 87 hp. useful power and 140 Nm of torque. In this version, the Russian station wagon accelerates to the first 100 km/h in 14.4 seconds and consumes an average of 8.2 liters of fuel. In more expensive versions of Largus, the same engine appears, the maximum output of which is increased to 106 hp, and the torque is increased to 148 N*m. With such technical characteristics, the station wagon reaches 100 km/h in 13.5 seconds\. It is noteworthy that the increase in power has a positive effect on fuel efficiency: gasoline consumption decreases to 7.9 liters.
Relatively recently, a new modification, Largus CNG, appeared on the Russian market, based on a 106-horsepower engine. This version of the station wagon is interesting in that it is complemented by gas equipment.

Management and control systems

Story
The design and technical part of the Lada Largus initially did not correspond to its time. The appearance looked archaic already in the mid-2000s, not to mention the later period. It was obvious that the model needed serious reworking and redesign. Many journalists, bloggers and car enthusiasts expected the appearance of the 2nd generation Largus based on Logon, but the expectations were not met. Most likely, this project was closed. Instead, the company began releasing Largus based on the 1st generation Logon with a major change in appearance.

Restyling gave the domestic car an updated front end. This detail is designed in a “vase” style, X-shaped. At the same time, the model has an enlarged radiator grille. Criterias of choice
So first of all, why did we choose this particular car? We decided that we needed a van or minivan as the most convenient and versatile car. It can successfully transport both people and a large amount of luggage or cargo. Since we have a large family, we have a decent amount of things to take on vacation. Another point is the spacious luggage compartment is useful for purchasing groceries, for example. Then we reasoned as follows: there are already 5 of us, which means we can’t put anyone else in the car. What if, for example, my grandmother comes to visit or we suddenly have another child? After all, we bought the car for a long time, so we decided that we needed more than 5 seats in the car. And these are perhaps the main criteria from which we based our further search for a car. Well, I told you that we are newbies;)
Then I began to study the issue taking into account our budget; we had a certain amount of savings and we planned to either meet it or take out the remaining small amount in debt or credit. A search by criteria showed that 7-8 seater cars are mostly jeeps and foreign cars far beyond our budget, including used ones! And then information about the new Lada Largus car began to appear on the Internet. The main thing that interested me was, of course, the presence of a 7-seater configuration. After studying the issue, I was left with several options for the future car:
- Lada Largus 7 seats;
- Daewoo Gentra;
- Kia Rio station wagon;
- Chevrolet Lacetti station wagon.
Gentra at that time looked like a worthy competitor in terms of equipment and price, although it was not a station wagon or a 7-seater car. However, at the time of purchase it was not yet available for public sale or even on order. Kia and Chevrolet are only used cars, we thought for a long time and decided to refuse to buy an old car for the same simple reason - we didn’t understand them, and a new car would have a warranty and in case of something we could get something from someone -demand. So we settled on Lada Largus.
Design
Lada Largus Cross 2022 is a new model of the Russian automaker. The car was liked by many car enthusiasts - because of its spaciousness (a suitable option for family outings and cargo transportation), as well as because of its budget (affordable for the middle class). In appearance, the following modifications should be noted: plastic linings on the wheel arches, along the sills and on the bumpers; light alloy wheels – 16 dm; increased ground clearance; The suspensions were strengthened.
Exterior
The new Lada Largus Cross looks very simple and, at the same time, solid and strict, in accordance with EURO 5 standards. Lada Largus Cross 7 (seats seven people) and 5 (five) is available in van, minivan and station wagon bodies - each option with its own characteristics. The picture of the cross (photo Lada Largus) shows that this is a modern off-road vehicle.
The following updates were carried out as “tuning” of the Lada Largus Cross:

Design
Lada Largus Cross from 2019-2020, the new model is unlikely to be able to surprise its fans, both in technical terms and in design, including the interior. Basically, this is the same “civilian” Largus, with one small clarification that the suspension has been partially modified and that’s all.
The appearance is not easily recognizable with the Lada Largus of the “civilian” segment, but with the true donor, which is Renault. Design solutions evoke calmness and melancholy at the same time; there is simply nothing fundamentally intriguing here. A banal body for a “heel”, a classic design style, without any frills.
Exterior
The new Lada Largus Cross, however, can be beautiful, this is exactly what the designers of the domestic unit thought before presenting the new product to the general public in 2014. With a characteristic tuning body kit, it looks much nicer and brighter. We can say that this was a small but confident step in the direction of the crossover “family”.
Cross's photo, taken before the start of the shows, made it clear that no one was going to change his appearance globally. There were, of course, assumptions that they would remake the front part, highlighting the recently famous X-essence, but it turned out that the manufacturer was not yet ready for such significant changes.
Therefore, we observe a similar outline of Largus in the front, side and stern. The body kit only adds volume to the edges and bumpers, making the car aggressive and protected from external influences.
Interior
The newest Lada Largus Cross, according to the photo, has almost no differences in the interior, with the exception of an expanded range of finishing materials and color variations. The car dealership, like the manufacturer itself, offers bright and contrasting inserts of orange and yellow fabric and threads, carefully introduced onto the door cards, front panel and, of course, the seats.
By the way, the Largus will fit seven passengers without any problems, and the Russian pseudo-crossover is certainly doing well here. If people of absolutely any “formation” can fit in the front and middle rows, regardless of height and weight, then the “gallery” is most likely for children or smaller passengers.
Not to say that the seats are clearly devoid of lateral support, but it is not enough, I would like more, but you need to understand the price range for the car. The trunk of the Lada Largus with seven passengers gains only 198 liters, but with a five-seater interior arrangement, a decent 700 liters are provided, and this is with an ideal platform in terms of geometry.
In terms of equipment, there is nothing new; little has been updated on the central panel, a radio tape recorder similar to its predecessor, a block of “Nivov” switching keys and “washers” for the air conditioning system. Rounded vents are traditionally topped with analogue “wells” and a small monochrome on-board computer. The steering wheel has no bells and whistles.
The Logan engine is too small for the Cross.
Logan's 1.6 engine, even with a 16-valve head, according to the numbers, seems completely weak, but during quiet driving with an incomplete load it is enough. The close gear ratios in the box and the short main pair save the day. On a regular Largus, without the Cross prefix, the situation should be even better, since the wheels of a raised car are larger and therefore heavier, and for a small engine this is a noticeable load.
But as soon as you get onto the Moscow Ring Road, Largus has difficulty keeping up with the traffic. At 120 km/h, the cabin becomes noisy primarily due to high engine speeds. The hand reaches out to engage sixth gear, but, of course, it’s not there. Yes, the maximum speed of 165 km/h for this car is rather fantastic. I don’t want to drive it faster than 120-130 km/h, and besides, the consumption increases catastrophically.
When driving quietly, Largus Cross can consume 8-9 liters per hundred.
Very soon, Largus should switch to the VAZ 21129 engine - it has a 1.6-liter volume and a power of 106 hp. The motor is familiar to us primarily from Vesta. The gearbox will remain French, but the gear ratios for third, fourth and fifth gears have been changed. The main pair will also become noticeably longer. In Togliatti they promise that acceleration dynamics will simultaneously improve, fuel consumption will decrease and the cabin will become quieter. Optimistic statements.
Largus Classic
This is a standard package supplemented with additional options. It will cost more. There are already electric drives for raising the front windows, luxurious heated seats in the front, bumpers in exactly the same color as the body, roof rails, and the central locking is equipped with a remote control function. The price starts from 624 thousand rubles. If you need an option with 7 seats in the cabin, then Classic A/C will be your option or with air conditioning, your choice.
