Reviews from owners of Lada Largus Cross 2020-2021
The seats have become much more comfortable, they have at least some lateral support. In the old Largus they were simply terrible... Now the seats have three-stage heating. Also in my configuration there is heated rear seats, but single-stage. And also the windshield is heated, and this is a huge plus, since now you don’t have to scratch the glass on a frosty morning, as I did on the last Largus.
An armrest appeared between the seats, on which a magnet was installed (like on old Soviet cabinets). There is very little space in the armrest, but the fact that it is there is good. There was also a mirror in the visor, which wasn’t there before either.
Review of the new Lada Largus Cross 1.6 (106 hp) MT 2022
Motor 106 hp does not allow dynamic driving. To overtake on the highway, you need to stick into third gear and rev up the engine. In fourth gear you can simply accelerate, but in fifth, if you lightly load the Largus, sometimes you won’t be able to accelerate more than 100 km/h against the wind. Even in the city there is not enough dynamics.
Largus's handling is like that of a bus - it's not bad on a straight line, but it doesn't like to turn at any speed. The steering wheel is heavy and at the same time uninformative, the wheelbase is long, and you slide off the seat when cornering.
Vlad, review of Lada Largus Cross 1.6 (106 hp) manual transmission 2022
Interior ventilation is not ideal; the side windows are partially blocked in winter. You can’t call it incredibly warm either - the interior is still huge. The air conditioning is normal, but the third row, of course, does not have it. The only way to cool down there is through the windows.
I’ve gotten used to French “ergonomics,” although it’s still inconvenient for me to turn on the heated seats, and the power window keys are located in a moronic way.
Alexey, review of the Lada Largus Cross 1.6 manual 2022.
The manual transmission is simply oak, as soon as I left the showroom, first gear slipped out several times. I will also note the howl of the gearbox - at first and second speeds it can be heard in the cabin. The problem has been around for so many years, but AvtoVAZ cannot solve it. In fairness, it must be said that on my old Logan the box howled in first and slightly in second speed.
The engine is nimble. I don’t know what all those who complain about the sluggish dynamics of the VAZ sixteen-valve engine are driving. For the city it is enough, but on the highway you feel comfortable, and the speed is not in heaven, like on the old Logan 1.4.
Review of Lada Largus Cross 1.6 manual transmission 2022
I rode a couple of thousand kilometers, mostly along the M11. The car has very long 4th and 5th gears. Saving fuel at a constant speed is good, but to overtake you need to shift to a lower gear. However, this is not a problem.
I was driving 120-130 km/h all the time with a huge box on the roof (550 liters) and a decently loaded car. The autobox howls while driving at speeds above 100 km/h. Fuel consumption is 8.2 liters per hundred. On winter tires and with additional resistance it seems not bad, and the speed is not for super savings...

Specifications
Like the standard model, the all-terrain Lada Largus Cross 2022 in the new body is based on the front-wheel drive B0 platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance. The station wagon has an independent front suspension with MacPherson struts and a semi-independent torsion beam at the rear.
Disc brakes are installed on the front wheels of the car, and simpler drum mechanisms are installed on the rear wheels. The new Lada Largus Cross FL has the following overall dimensions, mm
- Length - 4 496
- Width - 1,754
- Height - 1,682
- Wheelbase - 2,905
- Ground clearance (clearance) - 200
The trunk volume of the five-seater version of the model is 560 liters, and the seven-seater version is 135 liters. If necessary, the rear seats can be folded, thereby increasing the cargo compartment capacity to 2,350 liters. The station wagon has a 50-liter fuel tank. Depending on the specification, the curb weight of the car varies from 1,255 to 1,330 kg.
You can order the new Lada Largus Cross 2022 exclusively with a 1.6-liter sixteen-valve VAZ-21129 engine. Working in conjunction with a five-speed manual transmission, this unit produces 106 hp. and 148 Nm. The five-seater version can accelerate from zero to hundreds in 14.2 seconds, and the version with three rows of seats in 14.3 seconds. The maximum speed in both cases is 170 km/h.
The interior of the Largus Cross FL is quite spacious. The second row can easily accommodate three adults. As for the third row, it is also “not for children” here, although it still cannot be called comfortable. Separately, it is worth noting the appearance of new front seats, which have developed lateral support and are noticeably more comfortable than the old ones.
The ergonomics of the pre-reform Largus were very controversial, so during the restyling, AvtoVAZ specialists corrected many shortcomings. For example, the power window control buttons are now located exactly where they should be - on the door armrests. However, there is still something to complain about: the steering wheel is still adjustable only in tilt, and the multimedia system screen is located too low.
Unfortunately, the new modernized VAZ-11182 engine is not available for the Largus Cross FL all-terrain station wagon, and the old 106-horsepower engine, although more powerful, “lives” only at the top - from 3,800 to 5,800 rpm. In other words, in order to feel confident in the flow, you have to turn the engine.
In this mode, the station wagon really drives cheerfully, but the fuel consumption is appropriate - at the level of 12-13 l/100 km, which discourages any desire to stay in the red zone of the tachometer. The car's suspension did not change during restyling.
This is still the same reliable and comfortable design, which allows you to move smoothly and without problems even on not the best roads. There are also no questions about the handling of the Lada Largus Cross: the car still has a clear steering wheel and fairly high stability on the road (due to the long wheelbase).

Journalists and bloggers criticize the Lada Largus for its shortcomings - ergonomic mistakes, poor sound insulation, poor quality assembly, and more. Despite this, the Largus family is popular, occupying seventh place in the TOP 25 best-selling cars in Russia. What is the secret of success or why car owners choose it, we will understand in today’s material.
Lada Largus Cross 2021
On test is the all-terrain version of Cross in the maximum Luxe Prestige configuration, purchased in the summer of 2022 at a price of 1,060,000 rubles. The price of the basic version of Comfort light starts from 938,900 rubles. They say that many dealers do not have cars in stock and you have to wait a month or even more. Whether this is true or not, the owner went specifically to Togliatti to pick up this car.
Externally, the Largus 2022 model year differs from the pre-reform model by the front part, made in the corporate style - X-face. New headlights with separate daytime running light sections, grille, bumper, fenders and hood.
Front view
The first advantage of the Largus Cross is the ground clearance, which is 200 mm, which is 28 mm more than the standard version. This parameter remains unchanged.
Ground clearance is increased due to longer shock absorbers, springs and 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/55R16 tires. By the way, the 2022 model year version features new design wheels.
The second advantage of the Cross is a plastic body kit that protects the body from branches and stones, and also gives the car a more brutal look. Roof rails are installed by default.
Lada Largus Cross
But Largus Cross has an even more important advantage - it is a trunk, the volume of which is 560 liters. It would seem that by the numbers it’s not much, but when you open the rear door, you discover a large loading height. You can put a lot of different things here and even a bicycle.
The luggage compartment of the Lada Largus Cross is 560 liters.
In addition, the interior can be transformed quite well, which increases cargo-passenger capabilities.
The test car is seven-seater. The two third-row seats fold and unfold easily. True, when I sat down in this row, I came across the seat belt buckles protruding from the sofa. There is enough space for two passengers of average build.
Third row of seats
Sitting in the back rows, you notice the overhead luggage rack, like on a bus.

For second-row passengers, there are heated seats and USB charging. On the third row there is only 12V charging.

I tried to find a spare tire or a spare tire under the floor, but I couldn’t find it. The spare wheel is located under the floor in the rear of the car.

Having listed the main advantages, it is worth talking about the shortcomings for which not only journalists, but also the owners themselves criticize.
The interior of the Largus family received a dashboard from the previous generation Renault Duster and a dashboard from Vesta Cross. Yes, it got better, but only a little.
Lada Largus Cross - interior
The steering wheel is not actually leather, but is made of inexpensive eco-leather. True, the steering wheel is now heated, with buttons for controlling the audio system and cruise control.
Interior
The seat heating buttons are located behind the cup holders. Firstly, they are inconvenient to reach for, and secondly, if there are glasses or bottles there, then using them becomes even more problematic.
Heating buttons
The joystick for electrically adjusting the side mirrors is located under the handbrake, as on the previous Duster. Well, who thought of doing this?
Adjusting the side mirrors
The touch screen of the multimedia system with navigation and Bluetooth responds well to touch.
Multimedia Largus Cross
The seats with the Largus Cross inscription turned out to have pronounced lateral support. There was not enough lumbar support, but sitting in them was quite comfortable.
Seats
The steering column is height adjustable. During the adjustment, I cut my finger on a sharp plastic corner located near the handle. And here you understand that in detail Largus was designed, to put it mildly, poorly.

Opposite the passenger there is a niche where you can put your smartphone, and we put food. The plastic element on the panel is bent by hand.

The new Largus family received side mirrors from Vesta. Visibility is excellent.

On the run
The thrust of the 1.6-liter VAZ engine 21129 is quite enough for the city. Power 106 forces and 148 Hm. But on the highway, overtaking and acceleration need to be calculated in advance. It was there that I felt the lack of power.
Engine VAZ 21129
The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, which periodically produces extraneous noise.
There is a problem with sound insulation in Largus, for example, at a speed of 130 km/h, it is hard to hear the interlocutor. Although the Comfort package comes with additional sound insulation. In this case, I'm afraid to imagine how things are in poorer versions.
The arrow indicates additional sound insulation from the manufacturer
As for engines and transmissions, until October 2022 Largus was offered with 1.6 K4M engines and JH3, JR5 gearboxes from Renault. Thus, VAZ decided to save on costs, but did not reduce prices.
Let me remind you that the standard Lada Largus, in addition to the 106-horsepower engine, is offered with a new engine with the index 11182, with a power of 90 horsepower and 143 Hm.

About the suspension
The suspension smooths out the unevenness of Russian roads, and once you drive off the asphalt you appreciate its energy intensity even more.
Largus pendant
It is outside the city, driving through fields, dirt roads and various potholes, that you feel the benefits of the suspension.
Instead of output
Having listed the main advantages, I understand why Largus, including Cross, is in excellent demand. A million rubles with such off-road capabilities and interiors cannot buy anything from new cars. Yes, you can pay attention to the secondary market, where used Volkswagen Transporter and Hyundai H1 with a mileage of 150,000 km or more are available for the same money. But if you want to buy a new car, then Largus has no direct competitors in Russia.
Largus Cross, rear view
Disadvantages in the form of ergonomic miscalculations and build quality may discourage potential buyers, but are not decisive. I would like the manufacturer to treat its customers more loyally and work out the shortcomings in the future. True, this is hard to believe.
Largus also maintains a high residual value on the secondary market - this is another reason for high demand. Even the owner of this car purchased it precisely for this reason. Like, I drive a lot on bad roads, and in two years I’ll sell it at a profit.
Sincerely, Airat Kadyrmaev.
Review LADA Largus 2022 1.6L 8-cl., manual transmission Norma+ package with air conditioning
Hi all! Now it’s my turn to write my review of the Lada Largus. At the beginning of March 2022, I received my Largus at delivery! the price at that time was 596 thousand rubles. According to the “Norma+” configuration with air conditioning. In more than 2 years, I drove the car more than 50 thousand km. And now I have something to tell.
Largus was not chosen by chance. Just like you now, I read reviews on the Internet. I needed a semi-working car - so that I could transport the cargo and be able to drive myself. Therefore, we needed a station wagon with a large trunk and for little money. I only looked at new cars. I didn’t consider the secondary one at all. I change my car every 2-3 years.
I'll start with the additions. The rear seats fold down in a ratio of approximately 70 to 30. Sometimes I have to remove the seats. But to do this on Largus, you need to unscrew the nuts. I would like there to be some kind of quick-release mount, as for example, this is implemented in the Nissan IKTrail.
There is also no way to adjust the rear seats. No way. Neither forward or backward, nor recline the back. There is a lot of space in the trunk, but this function is not provided. It’s clear that the car is a budget one. The front seats are very comfortable, I personally have enough adjustments. There are no questions for them.
There is not enough space in the trunk for small things. No niches, drawers, etc. Everything I carry with me hangs around the trunk.
Although many people say that Largus is ergonomically designed. But, excuse me, why are the ESP buttons on the panel? I understand that this solution was carried over from Logan/Sandero. And the French played a key role in the design. But is this convenient? After 2 years, I still haven’t gotten used to the fact that the lift buttons are not on the door card... sorry.
Same thing with the signal... What????? What were you really under when you came up with the idea of inserting a horn button into the turn signal lever??? In a critical situation, it is very difficult to get there with your hand. The signal must be strictly in the center of the steering wheel. This is embedded in the subconscious.
Engine and gearbox without any complaints. For this money the bundle is normal. The gearbox is a bit short. You reach 80 km/h already in 4th gear. You shift to fifth and drive on. The suspension is stiff, but energy-intensive. You can drive through the pits relatively comfortably. Very durable suspension. But some components, such as balls and drums, are expensive to replace, since everything is sold assembled. I haven’t encountered this yet, but I’ve already heard a lot.
These are the shortcomings I saw in my Largus. However, all this does not mean that the car is bad and not worth the money. Finding worthy analogues for this money is basically impossible. During all this time the car has never let me down; nothing has been done to repair it. I hope the car will last as long and will delight the next owner as it did me.
