Serial production of the Lada XRAY Cross began on October 1, 2018. In two weeks, AVTOVAZ announces prices and configurations (from 729,900 to 888,900 rubles). Sales will begin in November, but before that a number of Lada XRAY Cross cars were provided to journalists for press tests that took place in Kazakhstan. Dimensions and technical characteristics of Lada X-Ray
The concept is comparable in size to a Nissan Juke. The length of the X-Ray is only 4.2 meters, which classifies the car as a compact crossover. This is one of the most popular and fastest growing segments in our market, so there is no room for stupid miscalculations. AvtoVAZ spends a lot of time developing X-Ray.
But when will mass production of the crossover begin? According to the manufacturer, the Lada X-Ray will go into production before 2014. Yes, wait for a new product, but there is a greater chance of a successful outcome of the tests. During this year, AvtoVAZ will be able to thoroughly check the crossover, carry out all the tests and refine the model, having studied the preferences of the main consumers. And then mass production will begin. This probably explains the long development period for the crossover. Of course, you can object and say that X-Ray is not yet finished. Your opinion may be correct, but AvtoVAZ claims that work on the concept has been completed. If the first prototype of the crossover was not completed, then the new car is already ready. So we are waiting for the tests to pass and X-Ray to appear at dealers.
Lada X-Ray is one of the most interesting concepts from AvtoVAZ. It is a stylish cross-coupe aimed at young customers. It is not for nothing that the words “youth”, “recreation”, “activity” are used next to the name of the model. They can be called the X-Ray motto.

Many options in the cabin
For a relatively low price, taking into account ground clearance, drivers can expect to receive a whole list of interesting functional devices:
- LED interior lighting;
- lighting on exit doors;
- rear USB socket;
- 12V sockets;
- heated steering wheel and all seats;
- climate control.
The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel creates a sense of drive. The driver needs to make a minimum number of movements in the cabin to activate certain functions.
The ergonomics of climate control and other controls do not cause serious complaints, as could be seen on other similar models from AvtoVAZ.

- The Lada holds a straight line quite firmly. It wiggles only a little when the asphalt moves in waves.

- I liked the settings of the electro-hydraulic power steering. Zero is clear, but unobtrusive. And as soon as you tilt the steering wheel even a degree, a thin stream of feedback begins to run along the rim. Its flow increases with the angle of rotation. When taxiing quickly, the amplifier does not bite.
About the transmission

- There are practically no questions about the transmission. The lever jumps into the gear holes without any extra effort; there are no complaints about selectivity. Unless the clutch pedal is too long and the discs close exactly in the middle of the stroke. This causes the clutch to slip when changing gears.

About the interior

The new Lada XRAY Cross is a good city car. But it also behaves decently on the highway, we drove it to the Black Sea coast, 3,000 km there back - comfortable and economical, although there was not much space, 4 people drove, everyone fit in and did not complain), along the highway at 120-130 km / h and the climate control is turned on, the car behaves adequately and does not stall. Very obedient car!
It's beautiful inside and out, now it's definitely a hatchback. The suspension and steering are clear. Now only electric power steering, cheaper, simpler and more reliable. High ground clearance. Comfortable heated steering wheel and seats.

The 2022 Lada Xray Cross is equipped with a 122-horsepower 1.8-liter gasoline engine, which can be paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a single-clutch automatic transmission (AMT). The new SUV has only front-wheel drive. The Xray is built on the B0 platform; the front suspension of the cross version has been modified: the Logan lower arms have been replaced with L-shaped ones, like the Vesta suspension. Also from its neighbor in the model range, the new product received rear disc brakes. In addition, the Xray Cross does not have an electro-hydraulic power steering, but an electric one; the number of revolutions from lock to lock has been reduced from 3.3 to 2.9.
The cross-version differs from the standard five-door in its ground clearance: its ground clearance is 215 mm, while that of the regular Xray is 195 mm. The new product turned out to be the widest in the Lada line - 1,810 mm versus 1,785 mm on Vesta Cross.
The Xray Cross has a Lada Ride Select function: it allows you to select one of five driving modes using a puck located on the center console. These modes assume standard operation of ESC, disabling ESC, Sport, movement in snow, mud, and sand. Moreover, the latter turn off independently upon reaching a speed of 54 km/h.

Appearance
In general, the new body of the Lada X Ray Cross 2022 is not much different from the usual configuration of the car. In the photo you can see that the car has become a little taller, acquired protective elements made of plastic and metal, and also received more aggressive body kits at the front and rear.
The face of the car is also very small in size, but due to the fact that it is set high, it still seems massive. At the very top of the front end you can find a slightly sloped bonnet, the sides of which are slightly recessed. Directly below these recesses there is a massive head optics, which can be filled with high-quality halogen lights and even xenon. All the fun is in the center of the bumper.
The lower part of the bumper also includes features such as additional air intakes located on the sides, through which cooled air enters the braking system. Round fog lights can also be found here. At the end of the body kit there is also plastic protection for the body and engine compartment.
On the sides, XRAY Cross also underwent very minor changes. As before, the decorations here are a wavy relief, small windows with a glossy perimeter frame, stylish semi-plastic mirrors with turn signal repeaters and enlarged wheel arches. An innovation is a wide plastic insert at the very bottom of the body, which prevents sand, branches and stones from damaging it when driving on a bad road.
The rear of the car has changed the most. The roof now ends in a wider visor, on which there are brake lights united in one line. A little lower is the tailgate with a small window and stylish side lights. The body kit here is made entirely of plastic and includes fog lights, a metal diffuser, as well as an exhaust pipe, a towbar mount and a towing eye.

As expected, the car is practically no different inside from the basic version of the car. The new Lada X-Ray Cross 2021 model year is also finished with the simplest materials, such as fabric and plastic. All this quite often begins to make an unpleasant sound, since the build quality leaves much to be desired. The tunnel here is made as simply as possible. On it you can find such details as a gear shift knob, several holes for storing things or installing glasses, a parking brake handle and even an armrest, which, in the rich version, also boasts a cooled compartment.
The situation with the chairs has not changed much either. Still here you can see five seats, trimmed with a simple fabric, but quite soft. Among the additional equipment for the first row, the designers have prepared heating, mechanical or electrical adjustment of the seat position, good side support and comfortable headrests. The second row boasts only a reclining backrest and an armrest.
