One of the main events of MIAS 2018 was the presentation of the new Lada Granta family, which was presented in four body types (sedan, liftback, hatchback and station wagon). The price of this car has remained virtually unchanged, but the model has received a lot of updates. All the features of the new Granta are presented in the video.

Review of the 2022 Lada Granta in a new body
The situation in the domestic automobile market is such that the most inexpensive cars are in the top sales. If we talk specifically about new cars. Among them, the VAZ budget car Lada Granta is confidently leading with a starting price of about 400 thousand rubles in the basic configuration and in the sedan body. Granta liftback in the database will cost 20 thousand (Russian rubles) more. What has changed in both new bodies by 2022 has already become known.
The new Granta in 2022 will be equipped with four-cylinder gasoline injection naturally aspirated engines, which have long been known since the days of front-wheel drive eights and nines. According to another Togliatti tradition, rumors were spread about the introduction of a 1400 cc 16-valve turbo engine with a capacity of 90 horsepower, but so far there is no confirmation of this and is not expected.
Engines:
The simplest gasoline 1600 cc engine with 81 hp. with an eight-valve block head. It is this kind of engine that everyone has been familiar with since the late 80s of the last century from the VAZ 2108 car. Over thirty years, engineers increased the engine volume from 1.5 to 1.6 liters, lightened the piston and installed an injection system. Thanks for that too. The main advantage of this engine is the reliable design of the gas distribution mechanism. At the same time, you don’t have to be afraid that if the timing belt breaks, the pistons will meet the valves. Otherwise, it’s hello from 1985. Its index is VAZ 11183.
The modification of this 8-valve engine (VAZ-21116) turned out to be less successful, although some increase in dynamics is felt due to the lighter pistons and connecting rods. Power also increased by 6 forces. But in this engine, if the timing belt breaks, you have to shell out money not only to replace the valves, but also for a set of pistons - the thin-walled pistons instantly crumble when they meet the valve. But this motor is also much quieter.
Another 1.6-liter engine (VAZ-21126) with a power of 98 horsepower and a 16-valve cylinder head. This engine is well known to everyone who drives a Priora; it is called “Prior’s”. Essentially, this is the same engine, but with a 16-valve head.
Upgraded Priora engine with a power of 106 horsepower and a torque of 145 N/m. This engine also has 4 valves per cylinder and differs insignificantly from the previous one. The increase in power was achieved through the use of a larger volume receiver. Another difference from the previous one is that there is no mass air flow sensor. Instead, an absolute pressure sensor was installed.

Since AvtoVAZ's appearance has recently been its main advantage, and the new Granta liftback is no exception.
The front of the Grant is made in the traditional X-shaped style. You can even say that it was taken from Vesta. The hood has many different projections and recesses. The Granta's front bumper received an X-shaped design. Above the body kit is the head optics of the car, which has a rectangular shape. Between the headlights there is a false radiator grille with three horizontal stripes and the AvtoVAZ logo.

However, AVTOVAZ does not indicate a number of changes in these tables. For example:
- The “sport” button is only available on trim levels with AMT (“robot”).
- More expensive trim levels have felt fender liners.
- Simpler versions do not have external plastic trim on the doors.
- In simple configurations, the turn signal repeater is located not in the mirror, but on the wing.
- The heater and air conditioner knobs are flag-shaped (on more affordable versions) or round (on more expensive ones).
- The gearshift lever, depending on the configuration, can be simply plastic or more beautiful and shiny.
- The liftback now has a strap for closing the fifth door.
- The part of the hood (which is closer to the windshield) is slightly raised to prevent dirt from getting on the glass.

As a result, we can say that the updated Lada Granta is practically not inferior to its neighbors on the conveyor belt . The appearance of the car will resemble Vesta, which is loved by many drivers. As for the interior, this series will most likely be inferior to Vesta in comfort. However, do not forget that the Granta is considered a budget car, therefore, for its relatively low cost, this series will be in great demand.

On the sides of the car you can see a protruding strip appearing, which is located horizontally on the body. The curves from the hood to the roof and to the trunk have become softer, which gives the car a pleasant, modern look.

The designers decided to update the shape of the rear of the Grant in such a way that the serial signature was still visible.
The taillights have changed slightly in size, they have become larger. The shape of the headlights is rectangular. Black plastic, similar to the Lada Vesta, was installed at the bottom of the bumper. The license plate is now attached to the tailgate. According to the designers, the trunk of the updated car will become more spacious, which will please travelers.

Two Chinese and a new Niva: three crossover new products for Russia
Mid-size crossovers confidently hold second place in popularity after their compact counterparts. Hence the high competition, especially in the budget segment.

The Chinese brand Geely presented a new generation hybrid crossover Xingyue L Hi-X. Don’t be alarmed, it will come to the Russian market under the name KX-11.
Under the hood is a one and a half liter turbocharged engine with direct injection and a traction electric motor with a total output of 250 horsepower. A simplified three-speed transmission works in tandem with them.
According to the company, with a charged battery and a full tank of fuel, the crossover will travel up to 1 thousand 300 kilometers. At the same time, the average fuel consumption will be 4.3 liters, and acceleration to hundreds will be less than 8 seconds.
The petrol modification of Geely will appear in Russia in the second half of 2022. It is not yet known whether a hybrid will be supplied.
Another representative of the Middle Kingdom presented a modified version of the Haval DaGou crossover. In our market it will be sold under the name Dargo.
The new product looks noticeably more brutal than the previous version. The engine range will consist of two petrol turbo units with a volume of 1.5 and 2 liters. Power is 169 and 211 forces, respectively. The gearbox is a 7-speed robot. All-wheel drive with differential lock.
It is expected that Haval Dargo will enter the company's Tula assembly line this year.
And finally, the third crossover claims to be the most budget-friendly mid-size vehicle, which sounds tempting in light of current prices. We are talking about the Bigster model from the Romanian “daughter” of Renault – Dacia.
It is known that the car is built on the CMF-B platform, which offers a fairly wide selection of power units. There will even be hybrid versions on the European market.
The length of the car will be quite a respectable 4.6 meters. Bigster will most likely come to Russia in a couple of years, and will be put on an assembly line in Togliatti and will be produced under the guise of the long-promised full-fledged Lada crossover. Or even as a reincarnation of Niva. Intrigued? We wait.
According to forecasts, the price should be within 2 million rubles. The task of manufacturers is clear - they will try to keep the cost of cars within reasonable limits so that the budget segment remains that way.
