After this result, the manufacturer decided to increase the production plan to 45 thousand cars per year. Lada XRay can be called a successful experience using the Renault Sandero Stepway platform. The models are even assembled on the same assembly line in Tolyatti. True, the French are in less demand. It is already known for sure that in 2022 Avtovaz will launch the XRay Cross version. The model will receive a minimum number of alterations. New bumpers, a plastic body kit and large rims... naturally, you will have to pay more for this version, although in terms of off-road performance the situation will not improve in any way, because the regular X-Ray has quite a lot of ground clearance. Increasing the ground clearance will negatively affect the handling of the car and will require serious retuning of the suspension.

True, a robot with one clutch raises much more complaints than positive expectations. Despite the crossover appearance, it is exclusively front-wheel drive.
The choice of XRay body color in 2018 is limited. A total of 7 colors are available, but the rather pleasant orange color has disappeared (in the first photo at the beginning of the article). Base color is white “Glacial” (221). For other body colors you will have to pay an additional 12,000 rubles. These are the following colors: red “Fire Red” (124), gray-beige “Basalt Gray” (242), light brown “Puma” (265), dark brown “Cashmere” (283), black “Black Pearl” (676), silver “Platinum” (691).

And all these advantages were able to be included in the most difficult segment at the moment - up to 1,000,000 rubles.

An eight-inch display is responsible for the image, which comes to life the moment the driver just clicks the key. You can now control the volume using a convenient handle. The new audio system plays more pleasantly - there is no pain in the ears and there are no complaints about depth or bass. It is known that at the factory the sound settings were set individually for Xray. Interestingly, the sound volume depends on the speed of the car.
The starting price of this car is 730,900 rubles. The Luxe Prestige package costs customers RUB 931,900
Under the hood is a 1.6-liter engine that produces 106 horsepower. It is paired with a standard 5-speed manual transmission. With the help of manual control, the car becomes more nimble and obedient on the road. It is easy to control in city traffic, and on the highway it does not let you feel the slack. Another important advantage is cost-effectiveness. You can refuel with AI-92 fuel. According to the on-board computer, the average consumption does not exceed 9 liters per 100 km. On the highway the figure is even less - 6.5 liters.

Until recently, it was the “Luxe” version that was considered the most complete set of Lada XRay. This modification allows you to choose the interior color from Black or Solar brown. There are 3 additional rear seat headrests, fog lights, a drawer under the front passenger seat, a double luggage compartment floor, illuminated entry and exit points in the front doors, a heated windshield, rear parking sensors, climate control, rain and light sensors. The wheels are 16-inch alloy wheels of original design.
For an additional 29 thousand rubles, buyers of the luxury XRay are offered the “Prestige” option package, which includes enhanced window tinting, a rear view camera and a multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen and navigation.

The exterior of the domestic crossover is quite controversial. Of course, the production model is radically different from the first concepts that attracted attention at the Moscow Motor Show back in 2012. If everything is quite harmonious in front and behind, then not everyone likes the silhouette. A rather high sill line and relatively small wheel arches on small 15-inch wheels... it doesn’t look very good. The situation is corrected by installing 17-inch wheels, but this is only available in the top-end “Exclusive” version. We look at photos of the appearance further in our gallery.

The AvtoVAZ concern, located in the city of Tolyatti, presented a new B-class crossover to domestic car enthusiasts more than four years ago. Since then, interest in this “high hatchback” has not diminished.

While the steering wheel, center console, instrument panel, and door trim on the XRay are original, the driver’s and passenger seats came from the same-platform Renault Sandero Stepway, so it’s frankly not convenient here. Of course it’s better than the Lada Granta, but much worse than the Lada Vesta. In addition, it’s quite cramped inside (especially in the back), when compared with the same Lada Vesta station wagon, the Vesta clearly wins.

From the first tens of meters of acceleration, I note quite decent throttle response of the engine. The manager sitting next to him seems to gradually say that the car needs a dozen or so seconds to accelerate to the first hundred.
The coordinated behavior of the engine and gearbox with the short and precise stroke of its lever does not allow one to doubt his words. Yes, and accelerating to hundreds in the city in order to check his information is more expensive for yourself.
I also notice that the suspension, when overcoming road unevenness, tends to behave more harshly than softly. Although this is for a practically empty car, it is a completely acceptable feature of the car.
On turns, despite the high ground clearance parameters, the X Rey does not lose one iota of such advantages as handling.
As for the brakes, they are, as motorists say, “graspy” and predictable during the implementation of the required deceleration parameters.
Regarding the steering, we can only say that it is balanced both in terms of effort and predictability of response.
Only on the highway at a constant speed do you notice that the sound insulation and visibility, as well as the interior decoration, including interior comfort, meet all the requirements of modern cars.
Only when driving the X Ray Exclusive do you understand that the controls and controls for the operation of its various systems are easily accessible, since all the rules and requirements of ergonomics are successfully implemented in the crossover.
In general, it will soon be a month since I enhanced my image as a patriot of the domestic auto industry with the successful acquisition of X Ray Exclusive. There are no comments or complaints yet. The flight is normal.
