How to replace the VAZ-2114 stove motor with your own hands

A warm interior is the key to good and comfortable travel by car. A non-working stove can not only cause discomfort, but also become an argument against further travel by car at all. It’s one thing when you came to the garage, noticed a non-working heater and refused to move further in the car during the breakdown, but if this breakdown caught you on the road, the nearest service center is far away, and it is not possible to drive a car with a non-working interior heater, because the windshield becomes covered with frost and further movement becomes dangerous. Then the only option left is to either transport the car using a tow truck, or try to fix it yourself.

Examination

To make sure that the motor is the cause of the heating system malfunction, you should carry out a simple but indicative procedure:

  • Start the car;
  • Turn on the first, second and third speeds of the stove alternately;
  • If there are no sounds indicating the start of the fan operation, the motor has failed;
  • If the fan did not turn on at speeds 1 and 2, but started working at speed 3, then the cause of the problem may be a switch or an additional resistor.

Causes of failure

The motor may not work for several reasons. Each of them requires separate consideration. Therefore, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the possible causes of fan failure in our table.

Cause It is important to know
Fuse blown The fuse F7 with a voltage of 30A is responsible for the stove. Replacing it is not difficult, but the main problem lies in the possible occurrence of a short circuit. This fuse is responsible for the lighting in the glove compartment, headlight washers, cigarette lighter, and heated mirrors. If it malfunctions, all specified devices will stop working.
There is no contact in the mounting block This is a common problem in cars and occurs as a result of contact oxidation or loss of connection strength.
Ignition relay sticks The heater turns on only after the car has warmed up. Therefore, it is recommended to check the condition of the ignition relay if the fan is not working. Replace relay if necessary
The heater only turns on at speed 3 Speeds 1 and 2 are activated by an additional resistor, and in mode 3 the current goes directly to the motor. In this situation, you should replace the additional resistor or check its contacts
The heater switch is broken Here we are talking about problems with the electrical target or fuse. To check their condition, you can use a test lamp
Problems in motor design If everything is fine with the switch and current, but the fan does not respond, you should check the level of overheating of the motor, its ground contacts or brushes for sticking

Depending on the problems encountered, you may need to replace the fan. Changing the motor is not difficult, although to do this you must have some skill or at least minimal experience in working with the electrical equipment of your car.

The first step when replacing the heater motor is to disconnect the battery.

Possible causes of malfunction

Before carrying out repairs, you should carefully study the possible causes of a malfunction of the car heater fan:

  1. Burnt fuse. The real reason is the most banal and simple, but at the same time it is the one that leads to the greatest problems in solving the existing issue. Replacing a fuse turns out to be a very simple procedure that any motorist can successfully handle. Despite simple repairs, it is extremely difficult to detect the short circuit that led to the blown fuse.
  2. Oxidation of contacts that should be used to establish the operation of a car heater.
  3. The ignition relay does not allow the heater to turn on and start working successfully.
  4. An additional resistor can result in only the third speed being operational.
  5. A faulty car interior heating switch requires replacing the fuse.
  6. A non-working electric fan motor is another important reason. In this case, it is necessary to replace the heater motor or at least check its contact with the vehicle. In most cases, the cause is hidden in a burnt-out electric motor, poor contact with the machine, or sticking electric motor brushes.

Regardless of the cause of the malfunction, you can successfully adjust your car heater

The most important thing is to understand what exactly is the cause of the breakdown or partial disruption of the functionality of the heating equipment

If diagnostics have confirmed that the cause lies in the heater motor, replacing the heater fan most often becomes a mandatory task. How to carry out such a responsible procedure and how easy does it promise to be?

The radiator fan on the VAZ-2114 is used to forcibly cool the engine and cooling system when natural cooling is insufficient. It turns off especially often if the temperature sensor is broken.

Its failure can lead to unexpected consequences, therefore, it is necessary to determine the cause of the malfunction in a timely manner and eliminate it. If the motorist is unable to do this, then it is worth contacting a car service center.

Instructions for replacing the VAZ 2114 stove motor

First, let's list the consumables and tools we need:

  • a new VAZ 2114 heater motor (and you must buy it complete with a fan and a protective cover);
  • set of open-end wrenches;
  • Phillips screwdriver (medium size).

To change the motor yourself, you need to follow the sequence of actions below:

  1. The hood of the car is opened, and the terminal with the minus sign is disconnected from the battery using a 10-mm open-end wrench.
  2. In the cab of the car, under the dashboard, there is a power cord for the oven motor. It is manually removed from the connector.

The “positive” power wire for the motor is located in the cabin, under the dashboard

  3. Now in the engine compartment, using an 8 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the 2 nuts holding the fan shroud. There is also a nut with which the car's ground wire is attached to the casing. She also unscrews.

Next to the casing nuts there is also a “ground” nut, which also unscrews

  4. Next, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the additional fan mounting bolts.

Unscrew an additional pair of mounting bolts with a Phillips screwdriver

  5. The air supply grille is released and removed, revealing access to the motor held on a special bracket.

When all fasteners are unscrewed, the air intake grille is removed manually

  6. To remove the motor, first pull it towards you, then turn it 90 degrees, remove it from the mounting bracket and remove it from its normal place.

The electric motor of the heater is first pulled towards itself, and then turned at a right angle

  7. Now a new motor is installed in place of the burnt device, after which all components are reassembled.

What is a stove fan

A fan is a functional element that drives air through the heater radiator and into the cabin. The fan, along with the radiator, pipes for refrigerant circulation, liquid regulator and air duct, is part of the heating unit. Its purpose is to drive cold air through a heated radiator, creating heat exchange.

We recommend: Do-it-yourself removal and installation of the exhaust manifold

Node functions

The heater fan is a motor that supplies air. You can imagine its operation in more detail only during the operation of the entire heating system:

  1. As the car engine heats up, liquid enters it, cooling the walls of the cylinder block and taking away heat.
  2. Hot antifreeze enters the heater radiator, and the latter quickly heats up.
  3. A motor (fan) is turned on, supplying flows of cold air, thereby cooling the element.
  4. The interior of the car begins to warm up.

The heating diagram of the VAZ 2113–2115 clearly shows the purpose of the motor

Where is the VAZ 2113-2115 heater motor located?

On VAZ 2113-2115 vehicles, the heater motor is located in the engine compartment. It is covered with a protective casing secured with four screws. The fan itself is also supported by bolts and nuts and is connected to the body of the car.

To gain access to the fan in order to dismantle it, you will have to first work in the interior. In particular, remove the wiring that connects the fan to the vehicle's electrical system.

Design of the VAZ-2110 heater

The SAUO replaced manual control of the heater, but otherwise the stove remained structurally the same. As in earlier models, the interior heating system is a housing with a radiator installed inside, connected to the cooling system of the power unit - a heat source, dampers that redirect the air flow to the desired zones, and a fan driven by an electric motor, which creates the air flow. SAUO is a controller that, depending on the set parameters, monitors the temperature in the cabin and regulates the position of the dampers, maintaining the specified mode.

The efficiency of the VAZ-2110 interior heater would be low without the forced creation of air flow, and this task falls on the stove fan.

The process of replacing a fan on a VAZ-2114

Heater fan

As already mentioned, the process of replacing the stove fan will take quite a bit of time and even a novice motorist can do it.

The unit itself is located in the engine compartment, behind the engine shield. It is protected from dust and dirt by a plastic casing, which performs its functions well, but not always.

Before you begin the replacement process itself, you need to collect the tools. So, let's look at what you need: a set of keys (where would we be without it), a Phillips-head screwdriver and a new fan as a part.

Exact withdrawal algorithm

Now that the motorist is fully armed, you can consider the step-by-step instructions for replacing the heater fan:

  1. We remove the negative terminal from the battery.
  2. We find the fan power connectors under the dashboard and turn it off.
Turn off the power to the heater fan

    Fan power cables

  3. We unscrew the two mounting bolts of the protective casing from the engine compartment.

Unscrew the fastenings of the fan protective casing

  4. We dismantle the nut of the “minus terminal” of the motor power supply.
  5. Unscrew the screws securing the motor.

The fan mounting screws are marked with an arrow.

  6. We dismantle the fastening of the stove air intake grille and remove it.

    Removing the air intake grille

  7. Remove the motor assembly with the protective casing.
We take out the motor assembly

Removing the heater motor on a VAZ-2114 from its seat

  8. We disassemble the casing and remove the motor itself.
  9. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.

Fan selection

Now that the process is clear and discussed, it is necessary to consider which stove fan is suitable for the VAZ-2114. To do this, first turn to the spare parts catalog. In addition to the original spare part, a number of analogues were found that are recommended for installation.

Original spare part (article)

2108-8101078 – original catalog number of the heater motor for the Lada family of cars 2108-21099, as well as 2113-2115. It is manufactured at the AvtoVAZ plant and the average cost is 2000 rubles.

Analogs

In addition to the original stove fan, you can find several analogues on the market that are recommended for installation.

So, let's look at all the possible options:

  • Fenox HM81002 – the cost of this product is 1,500 rubles. Country of origin: Belarus.
  • Master-sport 2108-8101078-PCS-MS – the average cost is also about 1,500 rubles. Country of origin: Germany.

    Fenox analog heater motor

Unfortunately, no other analogues were found, but some motorists are modernizing this unit by reworking it.

The whole assembly is assembled

Or they buy the entire spare part assembled, here are the part numbers:

  • Pekar 2108-8101091 - a very popular option among VAZ-2114 owners. Good reviews, cost about 1500 rubles.

    Pekar 2108-8101091

  • Luzar 2108-8101091.

Causes of malfunction

There can be many nuances that the heater motor has begun to work poorly. Among them are two main ones that can be helped by a small repair rather than a complete replacement of the fan. The commutator brushes may well wear out. The brushes themselves, in turn, can “gnaw through” the copper lamellas of the collector, which is why it does not want to work, and the heater motor “goes silent.”

Although this happens quite rarely, brass sleeves of plain bearings can squeak or whistle. Repairs are made by regular lubrication, although this usually helps for a short time; sooner or later the electric motor will need to be replaced. So, if you still have to get to the furnace fan, perhaps replacing it completely will be the best solution. In addition, it saves your time.

How to replace a heater motor

Due to the fact that the fan is fixed on the heater housing and is accessible from the engine compartment, replacing the VAZ-2114 heater motor is a simple process and does not require disassembling the interior heating system and draining the coolant. Therefore, you can replace the fan yourself, without seeking help from a service station.

To replace the motor, the tools you will need are screwdrivers and a 8-10 wrench. The algorithm for dismantling the heater fan on a VAZ-2114 is as follows: 1. Turn off the power to the on-board network by removing the “positive” terminal from the battery. 2. In the passenger compartment, on the driver’s side, behind the pedal unit, we find the fan power wires – black (“ground”, pressed with a nut to one of the bolts) and blue (“plus”).

3. Unscrew the ground nut, find the blue wire connector and disconnect it. 4. Open the hood. 5. Remove the fan casing with the filter installed in it. To do this, unscrew the 4 fastening screws.

6. Unscrew the fastening screws of the air intake grille installed near the glass. We remove the grille. 7. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the fan housing.

8. Using a “pull” motion, remove the body from the support. 9. Rotate the body 90 degrees. and remove it from the niche.

Further actions depend on what exactly was purchased for replacement - the assembly with the housing or just the electric motor with the impeller. If a fully assembled structure is available, we install a new element using the technology reverse to that described above.

Eventually

Disposal of an old heater motor most often occurs due to wear of the commutator (after 100,000 km) or a short circuit of the armature winding, which will be indicated by a “quiet” or slowly rotating shaft, as well as a blown fuse F7.

The method of replacing a faulty VAZ 2114 stove fan is simplified as follows:

  • disconnect the device from the on-board network;
  • remove the deflectors and cabin filter;
  • remove the protective cover;
  • remove the electric motor complete with casing or in parts;
  • remove the motor unit with the impeller from the casing;
  • Install the new drive and reassemble it in reverse order.

A warm interior is the key to a pleasant and comfortable trip by car. A non-working stove can not only cause discomfort, but also generally become an argument against further trips by car. It’s one thing when you arrived at the garage, noticed a non-working heater and during a breakdown refused to move further in the car, but if this breakdown caught you on the road, then it’s far from the nearest service station and it’s not possible to drive a car with a non-working internal heater, because that the windshield becomes covered with frost and further movement becomes dangerous. Then all that remains is to transport the car using a tow truck or try to repair it yourself.

Diagnostics

The primary task is to identify the cause of the breakdown and assess your own capabilities in a specific situation.

Let's start with something simple and move on to something more complex:

  1. We check the fuse (F-7 with a voltage of 30 A), which is responsible not only for the heating system, but also for the operation of: the cigarette lighter, heated mirrors, glove compartment lights, and headlight washers. Therefore, when this fuse blows, all of the above devices refuse to work. If it is working, we move further along the chain.
  2. Turn on the car's ignition and switch the speed control to positions 1, 2, 3 in order. If the fan does not work in any of these positions, we move on.
If the electric motor does not show signs of life in the first and second positions of the speed switch, but starts working in the third position (the fan is powered at the first and second speeds through a resistor, and at the third speed the current flows directly to the electric motor), the problem lies in the resistor or in the motor itself. switch
  3. If the heater motor turns on after the car engine has warmed up, the problem is a faulty ignition relay. Solved by replacing the relay.
  4. If the heater motor refuses to work in any mode, there remains one malfunction - the heater motor itself.

The process of dismantling the fan motor

We recommend: Silent locks for VAZ 2107: how to install it yourself?

For the final verdict, let’s apply “+” directly to the motor by removing the positive wire terminal from the motor. If the motor does not come to life, the last thing you can try is to try to clean the place under the ground mount on the electric motor. Often this place oxidizes and the contact weakens.

Causes of malfunction

As a rule, there are many reasons for such a malfunction, these include:

  • clogging with slags from;
  • stove motor failure.

If the stove motor is not functioning, or some of its speeds are not working properly, then it is first recommended to check the resistor, which in other words can be called the stove rheostat. This element is responsible for the speed of the fan. You can purchase such a part in a specialized store that sells auto parts. As for replacement, this can be done with the help of a specialist or on your own, which is not so difficult even for an inexperienced specialist.

There are heater malfunctions that can be easily fixed by any car enthusiast. For example, a situation may occur when cold air blows through the side deflectors and the windshield heating duct of the heating system, while a hot air flow comes from the lower and central air ducts. Most likely, the reason will be unsatisfactory performance, which is designed to cut off cold air. In some cases, it prevents the normal passage of cold air. Such faults are most easily identified during the cold season.

When bending the damper drive rod, special care must be taken so as not to damage the plastic parts. Please note that plastic becomes more brittle in winter.

Of course, a non-functioning stove causes many problems in winter.

If this is not so important in the summer, then in the winter the windows will fog up. You can figure out what the reason is by disassembling the heating system of the car.

Replacement

Replacing a failed unit is not difficult. Follow certain rules and sequence of your actions to achieve the desired result.

  1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
  2. Lift the hood and in the engine compartment, remove all the mounting bolts that hold the plastic trim.
  3. For now, the overlay can be moved to the side so that it does not interfere with work.
  4. Remove the rubber seal, which also has its place in the engine compartment.
  5. Remove the protective cover from your heater motor. So you have reached the desired object and can begin replacing.
  6. On the sides of the motor are two bolts that hold your fan in place.
  7. Now go into the interior and remove the driver's side panel. There is a positive plug located there, which must be disconnected.
  8. Next, look for the negative wire. It is held on by one nut, which must be unscrewed.
  9. The disconnected wires are inserted into the hole in the body of your car, passing through the rubber seal.
  10. Remove the damaged motor. To do this, you need to turn it and pull it out through the right side.

Dismantling the fan motor

Follow the reassembly sequence strictly to avoid mistakes that could lead to even more serious problems.

As you can see, removing the device is not difficult. Having studied the condition of the fan motor, we can draw a conclusion regarding the need to replace it. Sometimes car owners get by with simply repairing brushes or replacing fuses.

Price issue

We advise you to choose a high-quality motor for replacement so that later there are no problems with its performance.

The price depends on whether you buy the motor complete with housing or separately.

The motor itself will cost you about 500 rubles, and for the assembled device you will have to pay about 1000 rubles. Which option is preferable for you, decide for yourself.

The stove releases cold air

The first thing to do is to determine the cause of the breakdown. This will help you find ways to solve it. But there are quite a lot of them, so let's look at the most popular ones.

One common reason is that only cold air comes out of the unit. This is the first sign that the stove is not working properly. The reason lies in the fact that the interior temperature sensor has broken down - it is responsible for what conditions are in the cabin and whether they correspond to those set by the driver. If it fails, then its readings are incorrect. Thus, the stove receives information that it is hot in the cabin. It will therefore produce cold air to make conditions more comfortable.

It's easy to fix this problem. There are several steps you need to take. First, remove the lampshade by unscrewing it. Then install a new sensor and check it for serviceability.

Also, the reason that cold air comes out of the stove can be a breakdown of the gear motor. To determine it, you must first check the temperature sensor for serviceability. If everything is in order with the latter, then clearly the problem lies in the gearmotor. It is worth noting that this part, like the previous one, cannot be repaired. The only way to solve the problem is to replace it with a new one.

This process is a little more complicated. It consists in carrying out the following actions. First, the wipers are removed. Then you need to unscrew the bolts that are responsible for fastening the frill and remove it so that it does not interfere. Thus, access to the element that has failed will be obtained.

Then you need to remove the gearmotor itself. To do this, its fastening is unscrewed. A Phillips screwdriver will help with this. Next, you should carefully disconnect all the wires. This should be done as carefully as possible so as not to damage anything. This is the only way you can completely dismantle the broken part. Using the same principle, but in reverse, install a new element. At the same time, make sure that the cut of the part clearly fits into the damper.

Repair of VAZ 2113—2115 stove fan

Why does the heater motor stop working? There are reasons for this, and there are several of them. However, most often the cause of malfunction is clogging. Dust gets everywhere, including inside the mechanism.

Cleaning the stove fan in some cases helps to improve the operation of the mechanism

Causes and signs of heater motor failure

With the onset of cold weather, correct and uninterrupted operation of the heater becomes more important. But according to the law of meanness, it is precisely at this time that frequent problems are observed that have their own reasons:

  1. The safety element, designed to monitor not only the heater along with its components, but also the glove compartment lighting, the optics washer motor, etc., fails. This 30-amp fuse is located in a special block and is marked with the number F7. As a rule, the reason for its burnout is a short circuit. A burnt out element simply needs to be replaced.

Fuse F7 in the VAZ 2113 mounting block

  2. The ignition relay is located under the instrument panel. It can also cause problems with the stove motor, as it is connected to the electrical circuit. You can make sure that it is a relay by the following sign: the fan does not work only when the engine is warm (more details about the relay are written at the end).
  3. The stove radiator deteriorates and scale forms in it over time. The element can be removed and washed with “Mole” or other liquids.

The radiator of the VAZ 2115 stove deteriorates due to scale formation

  4. Air enters the system, forming plugs. This negatively affects the overall operation of the stove, including the motor. Proper airing of the entire system will help.
  5. The additional resistor is faulty. If this part is the “culprit”, electricity will begin to flow to the motor only in the third position of the heater operation. Accordingly, in the first and second modes the fan will not turn on, since the current in this case flows through the resistor. The problem is solved by replacing the resistor.

If there is a malfunction, the additional heater resistor must be replaced

  6. The contacts of the wiring terminals connecting the fan to the car's electrical system have become loose. You need to re-tighten them, and if they have oxidized, clean them.

How to remove the fan

The VAZ 2113-2115 heater motor is removed as follows:

  1. First remove the side cover of the dashboard from the pedal side.

The side casing cover can be removed to facilitate the process of removing the fan.

  2. Then the electrical contact is disconnected from under the dashboard - a transition device between the car's electrical system and the motor.

The positive wire plug connects the fan to the car's electrical system.

  3. The “ground” located on the bolt under the head “10” is also unscrewed.

The negative wire of the fan is connected to the mounting bolt on the body

After this, you need to transfer the work to the engine compartment:

  1. Unscrew the protective cover hiding the motor.
  2. Then remove the screws holding it in place.

The fan clamps are simply unscrewed with a screwdriver

  3. Wires disconnected inside the car should be pulled up.
  4. After this, you need to remove the top cover of the motor to make it easier to remove.

The top fan cover can be removed in place to make motor removal easier.

  5. Pull by hand to remove the fan.

We recommend: Do-it-yourself anti-rain for your car

How is the replacement carried out?

Before direct replacement, it is recommended to check the motor, because it may not work:

  1. Place the fan on a flat surface.
  2. Connect the wires to the battery terminals.

A faulty element will not rotate at all or will do so intermittently, weakly and noisily. Before work, you must also remember to thoroughly clean all debris from the niche where the new motor will be installed. The replacement procedure does not take more than 40 minutes for an experienced motorist. All you need is a screwdriver, wrenches and a new fan. The activity is performed in reverse to the withdrawal process. The wiring terminals must be securely secured so that they do not loosen while the machine is moving.

It is recommended to select a completely new and high-quality motor (original production) as a replacement in order to protect yourself from unnecessary costs. A good fan will last for a long time.

Where is the VAZ 2113-2115 heater relay located?

Not all motorists who decide to carry out repairs and replacements themselves can quickly find a faulty stove. The relay is responsible for sufficient heating of the interior, so a motor malfunction may be associated with it.

Often this element simply wears out. This is not a repairable part, it only requires replacement. Therefore, it is important to know where the relay is located in order to replace it yourself in a timely manner. The element is located on the center console under the instrument panel, often in the mounting block, next to the fuse.

The VAZ 2113-2115 heater relay is located near the fuses

The heater motor is an important and indispensable element of the car heating system. Periodic maintenance and timely replacement of faulty parts will always help keep the car interior warm.

Replacing the stove fan on a VAZ-2114 is quite easy and simple. As practice shows, most motorists do just that, saving their time and money. But, if the process seems very difficult, then it is recommended to contact the service, where they will do everything quickly and efficiently.

  • Fuse problems

A failed stove fuse is one of the most common, and at the same time easy to repair faults.

The fourteenth is equipped with a heater fuse of type F7, with a current strength of 30 A. It is worth noting that a failed heater fuse will also cause the cigarette lighter, glove compartment lighting, electric water supply pump to clean the headlights, and rear window heating to fail, since all these systems operate from one fuse.

Situations often occur when installed fuses blow out one after another - the reason for this may be a short circuit, to identify the source of which you will have to go through the entire safety circuit

  • Lack of contact inside the mounting block

Also a fairly common problem, the cause of which is the oxidation of wires during operation. The solution is quite simple; you need to sort out the wiring in the block in which they are fastened in front of the mounting block, and, if necessary, replace the contact group.

  • Problems with the ignition relay

A stuck ignition relay can also be the reason why the heater fan on a VAZ 2114 does not work. This is revealed quite simply - if the fan starts working only when the car’s engine has completely warmed up, then the problem is due to the ignition relay. To eliminate them, you will need to completely replace the relay.

  • The stove does not work in speed modes 1 and 2

If the fan turns on only at maximum speed (there are 3 in total), then the heater resistor needs to be changed. The design features of the heating system are such that in speed modes 1 and 2 the fan is powered through an additional resistor, and in mode 3 - directly from the battery.

  • Fan motor problems

If the VAZ 2114 cooling fan does not work, but all of the above problems have been eliminated, then one reason remains - a failed VAZ 2114 heater motor. It can either burn out or have poor contact with the power supply due to loose mass, and the fan brushes also often get stuck.

You will need to replace the heater motor with a new one, because if it starts to “stand out”, then this will happen repeatedly in the future.

Important points

In order for the stove repair to proceed as quickly as possible and its results not to disappoint the car owner, you must adhere to the following rules:

  • When removing the old motor, be sure to turn it over. If this is not done, part of its fastening may break and get stuck in the dashboard, more precisely in the fastening bracket. And getting to the locked fragment will not be easy.
  • When tightening the mounting screws with a Phillips screwdriver, do not use too much force—they are small, so the wires in their sockets can be easily torn.
  • As practice shows, replacing an engine is not particularly difficult even for a novice motorist if he has held a wrench and a screwdriver in his hand at least once in his life. The entire procedure takes a maximum of 40-50 minutes. The main thing is not to overdo it with tightening the fasteners and everything will be fine.

Connection diagram, resistors and fan relays

In principle, changing a fan is not difficult, but you will have to remember your service in the army and the vocabulary of the duty officer. We have placed the technical characteristics of the fan and its connection diagram on the page, if this will somehow help with dismantling. Just in case, if anyone cannot find the original fan, the engine must develop at least 4200 rpm with a current consumption of no more than 14 amperes.

Whistling and howling can be different at different engine operating modes. This is because the connection diagram assumes the presence of a resistor with a resistance of 0.23 and 0.65 Ohms. One limits the current for low speed, and the other is used to obtain the second speed. But this is a theory.

Disposal of an old electric heater motor most often occurs due to wear of the commutator (after 100,000 km) or short circuit of the armature winding, which will be indicated by a “silent” or difficult-to-rotate shaft, as well as a blown fuse F7.

When does the heater motor need to be replaced?

There are several signs that will tell a car owner that something is wrong with the heater motor. Here are the most common:

    • When you try to light the heater, you do not hear the engine hum, and this image is observed at all three speeds.
    • The engine supplies air at all speeds, but operates intermittently.
    • The engine operation is stable, there are no interruptions in the supply of hot air, but instead of a uniform hum, extraneous sounds are heard, a grinding sound, which later develops into a piercing squeak.
