Despite the possibility of purchasing something from a foreign product, I decided to settle on the 2022 Lada Granta. It all comes down to the low cost of the sedan, which allows you to invest the remaining money in other needs.

I have never disliked the domestic auto industry, but somehow I used to get by with Renault products. I was also impressed by the dealer’s attitude, or rather his generosity: he gave me crankcase protection and winter tires. In general, the sedan purchase process went without problems.

After driving the first kilometers, I was convinced of good ground clearance: nothing was touching the bottom. Ground clearance of 180 mm is enough for travel in potholes and light off-road conditions (without load, 195 mm ground clearance). The front-wheel drive overcomes some muddy areas quite confidently, but the engine lets it down - 87 hp. With. not enough. Although Lada offers a 106 hp model. s., if anyone is interested in increased engine performance.

My top advantages:

  • low price with a good level of sedan comfort;
  • light steering when turning;
  • a spacious trunk of 520 liters, where all daily luggage fits;

Disadvantages:

To summarize, I will say that the Lada Granda 2022 lived up to expectations. Thanks to your bias towards AVTOVAZ, you prepare for the worst, but this does not happen. The sedan has improved significantly after restyling, which has a positive effect on the driving experience.

This review concerns AvtoVAZ products and is open for discussion for everyone, but this, you see, does not mean at all that someone who once had a VAZ 2109 or 2113 in ancient times and took a taxi ride in Vesta a couple of times now considers himself a little or an expert on currently produced AvtoVAZ models.
I quote only one characteristic statement of yours: “I consider the 1.6 engine more reliable than the 1.8.” Well, consider this for yourself silently, why bother littering the resource with all sorts of nonsense. Speak in your threads about Land Rover, why are you jumping here like flies on.... It would be fine if they said something worthwhile on the essence of the issue, but no, you need to carry all sorts of heresy, hiding behind your own opinion, which the visitors of this review don’t care about. A strange manner of self-affirmation. Further, I again quote your characteristic phrase: “personally, I never wrote anywhere that Vesta is shit or anything like that.” Hmm, your memory is short, you’ll have to refresh it a little and quote your words said a little higher. “Priors, 14s, Vestas - even at 50-70+ tkm - it’s like you’re driving in a bucket and you’re afraid that something will fall off.”

Further, one more quote in conclusion: “Vesta is probably the best thing that AvtoVAZ has done, but to assure that it is superior to imported analogues is at least stupid.” In fact, how can such a statement be made by at least a very narrow-minded and dense person , still filled with cliches coming from the scoop that everything imported is definitely better than domestic and, on top of that, has little knowledge of cars in general. That this is not true, I’ll give you a small example, let’s take for example 750 thousand rubles. for the purchase of a new car. (why such a sum, everything is very simple, you simply cannot buy the same Solaris cheaper). So for this amount there will be a new Solaris Active variant in a homeless configuration with a dead 1.4 engine that doesn’t run at all. And the same Vesta for this money will be a car of a completely different level, at least the Comfort Image 1.8 package, which, compared to the aforementioned Solaris, has a more spacious interior and trunk, more dynamic acceleration and more effective braking, much quieter in the cabin at high speed, It steers better, the suspension is better adapted to our Russian realities, higher ground clearance is not the most important thing here, by the way, better passive safety, cheaper maintenance and higher liquidity for subsequent sales, not to mention a lot of options that will not be in this Solaris, and even in design individual components too, for example headlights, the useless headlights of the Solaris have probably already become the talk of the town, and much more. As a result, this Solaris for this money really does not have one real advantage, with the exception of perhaps slightly lower fuel consumption (the 1.4 engine obliges after all) and that’s all. Which of these machines to choose, putting the most pragmatic choice at the forefront, suggests itself. Sales statistics confirm this in principle.

The rain sensor scared me at first when the windshield wipers started working on their own when sprayed with water from oncoming traffic, but I think that the thing is also useful. In general, this is still the same Granta with a normal engine by modern standards, with a good automatic transmission, which does not change a bunch of gears back and forth for the sake of some half-liter of savings, but is absolutely predictable and adequate on descents and ascents, with excellent dynamics for the city and maneuverability, which can be safely used, and not carefully moved, with a cool omnivorous suspension and decent ground clearance.

Externally, I quite liked the Granta FL. The front part of the body is without question at all: modern, beautiful and harmonious. From the side, of course, the situation is a little worse, but the calico roots cannot be avoided, just as the width/height disproportion is visible from the rear, however, after moving the GRZ to the trunk lid, the appearance became a little more harmonious.

Salon. In general, I liked everything about the cabin, if you take into account the class and price of the car. In terms of space, of course, it’s a bit cramped, but not critical: “you can live,” that’s what I decided for myself... but it’s cheap!

The Lada Grant sedan cannot be called frisky, and it has absolutely nothing to provoke the driver to drive fast. The lack of dynamics is especially felt in the version with a 98-horsepower engine with an automatic transmission. This modification picks up speed well only up to 40 km/h, after which the speedometer needle creeps up extremely slowly, and dynamics appear only during kickdowns.

Feedback on the steering wheel of the model is slightly sluggish, and the car turns at speed with slight rolls. Certain questions also arise regarding the braking process: the pedal is too soft, and the pickup begins to be felt only after 40% of the pressure.

However, the Granta is not a sports car to require anything more from it, and for a car of its class it handles well. At the same time, the main advantage of the model is the practically impenetrable suspension, which ensures a very smooth ride even on broken and undulating surfaces.

Impression

In general, I got in, drove out of the car dealership, drove about 10 kilometers and became depressed. I don’t even want to describe my feelings. I immediately took it to armor the front part with anti-chip film. I had to part with the car for another day; I didn’t even drive an hour. The next day I took it, somehow my soul felt happier, I don’t know why.

I forgot to write, the car itself is 502,500 rubles. + 10,000 anticorrosive with fender liners. The dealer installed everything himself before the sale. Therefore, when I arrived, they had already announced a price of 512,500 rubles with these extras. And I didn’t resist. Anticorrosive throughout the bottom and arches is good.

Well, now about the car: the car itself looks okay, but it seems to me that it could be a little wider and a little lower, otherwise it looks somehow awkward from the back. The engine is still being run-in, there’s not much to say yet; in the city it’s quite enough, but on the highway uphill it’s hard for it. Even trucks overtook me up the hill.

Well, I think after the break-in everything will be fixed. I try not to give it more than 3,000 rpm, and on the highway it’s 110 and no more. The gearbox on the new Grant howls—it howls in all gears. The gears are still a little hard to engage, well, everything will probably get used to it.

The noise is average - nothing new here. Somewhere in the front side windows the wind is blowing at speed, you can hear it quite well. The smell in the cabin is, of course, terrible. Everything rattles little by little, something in the panel, in the doors, the rear windows, when closed, also rattle, the front windows, if opened 2-4 cm, also rattle.

The fit is a little high for my height of 192 cm. I would like it lower, but there are no options. Luxury ones have seats with seat height adjustment. I didn't like the instrument panel. The orange scale is not for everyone, and you can’t change the backlight.

There is a lot of space on the dashboard, but it is not used as it should. For example, temp. engine, air temperature, mileage before refueling, gasoline consumption, on-board network voltage, everything could be displayed in a column, but no, you can only set one parameter on the display.

And if you need to look at another one, you have to switch the wiper lever on the joystick. It's annoying, to be honest. Also in the tidy, the edging of the rings is glossy black; something often shines on it. I often get distracted by this, thinking that something is on the display.

The suspension on the new Lada Granta liftback 2022 is quite decent. Maybe it's just new. Pits, bumps - everything works out. The only thing, I already said, is that it’s a little lower, but so far there are no complaints about the suspension.
