Frameless wipers are easy to clean from ice; you just need to bend them a little and the ice will fall off on its own, which cannot be said about frame ones. The arcs of the frame wipers become clogged with snow and ice, which are difficult to clear, as a result of which the rubber ridge becomes motionless and does not adhere well to the windshield. But at this moment there are “winter wipers” with a protective skeleton cover and a less dull cleaning rubber band.

Cash expenses . Despite the fact that framed and frameless ones cost approximately the same, their service life is noticeably different: if the cleaning element is ineffective or the wiper no longer adheres to the windshield wiper, the entire frameless wiper will need to be replaced. In the case of a frame wiper, the cleaning element itself is cheap and can be replaced; moreover, the frame wiper is always adjacent to the windshield wiper and lasts much longer than the “competitor”.

Small observations : 1. when looking for a cleaning element (elastic band) for a frame wiper, you often come across “slag” that is unsuitable for long-term use, be careful. 2. During freezing rain or immediately after washing, when lifting the wiper arms to "de-ice up", water somehow leaked into the frame and the wiper froze into a bent shape and never fit snugly again until it warmed up.

In most cases, this trick backfires. The brush covers a large surface, but in winter, uncleaned areas with snow and ice appear. The reason is the insufficient clamping force of the wiper along the entire length of the body.

So think twice before purchasing and installing non-standard designs on your windshield.

Frameless wipers are sensitive to bending, so they are produced for specific car brands.

A wiper installed from another car may not fit into the design and may leave scratches during operation. Has advantages:

• easy cleaning from ice;
• good aerodynamics.

Frameless brushes have disadvantages such as high price and short service life.

Based on these readings, you can install longer blades, which will increase the cleaning area of ​​the windshield. For example, replace the driver's 600 mm brush with 610 mm, or the passenger's 450 mm with 480 mm.
