In August 2022, the next auto show will be held in Moscow, where the main Russian automaker, AVTOVAZ, will show its new products. The debut of the serial Xray Cross, the updated Niva and, of course, the restyled Grant is expected. In addition to purely cosmetic changes, the budget family will be replenished: now the model range will have as many as 5 body options: the sedan and liftback will be joined by the hatchback, station wagon and all-terrain station wagon Lada Granta Cross.

The approach/departure angle is 19 and 26 degrees, respectively – and this is also a decent indicator. Coupled with plastic protection around the perimeter of the body, this allows you to confidently drive through the intersection.

There will still be differences

However, there will still be changes. Although there are no full photos of the new Lada Granta Cross yet, it is known that the station wagon will receive a new face in a new corporate X style. In particular, the car has different headlights, radiator grille and bumpers. Most likely, the changes will also affect the stern, but to a lesser extent. But in profile, good old Kalina Cross will be easily recognizable.

The changes in the interior are also minimal: in particular, new options such as the Lada Connect remote control and access system will appear (for an additional fee, of course).

The ground clearance will be 182 mm, which is of course noticeably less than, for example, the same Vesta SW Cross (203 mm), but more than the usual Granta (160 mm).

The designers of the Grant Cross 2022 managed to raise the new car body above the road with the help of a modernized suspension, while maintaining the usual layout: a semi-independent beam at the rear and McPherson struts on the front axle.

The size range of tires has also partially changed: the cross version will be equipped with 195/55 R15 tires. The range of power plants for this model will traditionally remain modest: a 1.6-liter eight-valve 87-horsepower gasoline engine and a sixteen-valve engine with increased power (106 hp)

Both options are available with manual and automatic transmissions: either a 5-speed manual transmission or a five-speed AMT robot.

A pleasant surprise for owners of an automatic transmission will be the presence of the long-awaited creeping mode, in which the Lada Granta Cross 2019 will start moving when the brake pedal is released.

There is also an additional – sport mode of the gearbox, which provides faster switching from one gear to another.

It's no secret that all new station wagon modifications of the Grant family are former Kalinas with a Vesta-style front end design. Accordingly, the Lada Granta Cross 2022 inherited a new radiator grille, a new bumper, optics and chrome inserts characteristic of the X-style.

Of all the passenger cars of cross-country ideology present on the Russian market, Granta is the most compact. The length of the car is 4.15 m, width is 1.7 m. At the same time, the interior cannot be called cramped. Four adults can sit without any problems.
