If you don’t turn a blind eye to the price of the new Lada Granta, then the car has quite a lot of disadvantages: the old design of the cylinder block in the engine, the transmission “singing” due to the poor manufacturing precision of the gears, the lack of a subframe, which forces the suspension elements to be attached directly to the body.
All this is the same inheritance that does not allow the model to reach anywhere close to the level of frankly budget foreign cars. The new 2022 Lada Granta promises to take a noticeable step forward, however, all planned improvements boil down to one thing: in fact, the car will become a redesigned Logan.
This will happen due to Granta's transition to the new Global Access platform. In fact, we are dealing with a copy of the well-known budget “trolley” B0, which continues to be used in the construction of Renault Logan, Nissan Tiida, Dacia Dokker, etc. This will already make the new car larger and more spacious, as well as give the opportunity to choose from a wide range inexpensive power plants.
The acquisition of the 2022 Lada Granta will be a serious increase in all aspects: comfort, safety, practicality, efficiency - almost everything will be the merit of a more modern platform, and the exterior will be responsible for the quite successful X-style, which was once developed for Vesta.
Body

Perhaps the main achievement of the 2022 model year Lada Grant will be the presence of a subframe on which the front suspension with steering mechanism will rest.
This will automatically reduce vibrations and improve handling, giving better steering feedback. The new body itself, most likely, will also be borrowed from Logan, but will receive some of the original stamped parts to give the Russian budget vehicle originality.

It follows from this that in the center of the dashboard there will be a “tower” topped with air ducts, under which a modest multimedia display will be placed. Even lower is a laconic “climate” block.
Obviously, simply transferring interior elements from other “related” models will help keep the model in the segment of the cheapest cars. The only question is which of them will share seats, steering wheel, rear sofa, door cards, etc. with Granta.
Lada Granta 2022 has become more modern
The Granta update is immediately noticeable when viewed from the front, but from other angles and in the interior, the results of the work done are not so obvious. There are many differences, although everything was done with little blood. For example, they didn’t spend money on a new dashboard - they took it from the discontinued Kalina with minimal modifications.
VAZ has modernized the gearbox and parking brake levers. The latter, gleaming with bare metal, needed this especially urgently.
The instrument cluster has been updated to match the latest Lada innovations. Granta now has radial digitization and orange accents. The old-fashioned display with a green background has given way to stylish black and white. The interior lighting is LED, and the lampshade is combined with an emergency call button. They didn’t even forget about the seat upholstery - it now has a different pattern. It seems like a trifle, but against its background the pre-restyling Grant seems like an alien from the distant past.
Technical characteristics and filling
The B0 platform is compatible with a large number of power plants, but the Lada Granta developers are unlikely to miss the opportunity to supply the simplest and most reliable 1.6-liter Renault engines, which can have 82, 102 and 113 hp. With. power. They also provide a decent selection of transmissions (manual transmission, automatic transmission, DSG), which will increase the number of modifications.
In its maximum configuration, the 2022 Lada Granta will be able to have side front airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, climate control and other comfort systems.
Failure with headlights on Lada Granta 2022
Vesta-style headlights look beautiful, no doubt about it. However, they use lamps with an H19 base. Release date and start of mass production
The manufacturer promises to show the new Lada Granta in prototype form in 2022. Serial production of the vehicles is expected no earlier than 2022-2023. Initially, the model was supposed to debut in 2021, but due to the global plans of the Renault-Nissan-Lada alliance, production was postponed, but for AvtoVAZ the project of the new Grant is one of the highest priorities and the debut will not take long.
Exhaust system
Grants are equipped with a catalytic converter, which burns exhaust gases, making them less toxic, as well as an exhaust manifold.
The entire structure together is called a catalytic collector. On old Grants it often failed, burned out, and was very sensitive to fuel quality. When it breaks down, and it is expensive, many owners of cars that are not under warranty simply throw it away. They installed a dummy instead, followed by flashing the control unit for Euro-2.
Also regarding the exhaust system, at one time there were frequent complaints about strong vibration of the exhaust system at the moment of starting movement. The culprit was the corrugated insert of the additional muffler, which did not dampen vibrations from the engine. There have never been any problems with the main muffler - it’s an ordinary can, there’s nothing to break.

The history of the Lada Granta begins in 2011, it was then that the debut of a budget front-wheel drive car under the in-plant index VAZ-2190 took place. The car had a big task; it had to replace the VAZ 2107 (“Seven”), the Lada Kalina sedan and the Lada Samara. The model fully accomplished this goal and became the best-selling model in Russia in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2019.
At the time of release, the cost of the basic configuration was 229,000 rubles; it is worth noting that all cars came with airbags.
In 2013, the Liftback body appeared, and in 2022 the model underwent restyling, during which it received VAZ’s signature X-Face front end.
Lada Granta 2022 has become more practical

Oil seals
A separate story was with the seals. On old Grants, all the oil seals that were installed on the car leaked.
Here are some of them:

It was a rare case that the engine and gearbox remained dry. Basically there was always an oil leak somewhere. Therefore, at the moment, leakage defects on new Grants are an extremely rare case.

Power fuses
An additional block of power modules is located in the engine compartment, under the hood, behind the battery and expansion tank. It accommodates the following five modules:

Interior
