The LADA Vesta Sport is equipped with a forced 1.8 liter LADA engine. with a reconfigured valve timing system, new camshafts with a modified profile, increased pressure in the fuel system and original controller calibrations.

Appearance
Mass production of the civilian version of the Grant Sport began in 2014. It differs from the base model by an upgraded suspension with lower ground clearance, 16-inch alloy wheels and standard low-profile tires. Due to the bumpers, the length of the car has slightly increased, but the height, on the contrary, has decreased by 3 centimeters.
A protrusion appeared on the luggage compartment lid, acting as a kind of spoiler, only very compact. Another significant change here is the bumpers made of fiberglass. Let us remind you that the basic version of Granta comes with plastic bumpers. Another minor change can be considered a modified radiator grille. It wouldn’t be possible without the “Sport” brand nameplates on the body either.

The serial Lada Vesta Sport on the outside is no different from the concept that was presented at MIAS 2016.
- A stylish body kit consisting of bumpers, a spoiler on the trunk lid (made of foam material) and a “skirt” on the sills. The body kit is designed from an aerodynamic point of view - the lift force on the front axle is reduced by 76%, on the rear axle - by 48%.
- The front bumper has a lower spoiler.
- The rear bumper has an imitation diffuser.
- The front fenders are made specifically for the widened track, made of plastic.
- Decals are applied to the sides of the body.
- X-shaped stickers on the sides of the body.
- The corporate body color is “Typhoon” (steel gray enamel), only sports sedans will be painted with it (other colors from the standard version palette will also be available).

The 2018-2019 Granta Sport salon is essentially an improved package of the stock car (Luxe). However, there were some updates here: the trim of the steering wheel and gearshift lever. They are covered in leather and edged with red stitching, looking very stylish. The center console still has 2 ventilation manifolds covered with air flow control covers. In the center is the multimedia system screen with several control keys, and just below are the air conditioning system control buttons and the corresponding adjustment knobs. In addition to basic information, the central screen displays information from the trip computer.
The display of the multimedia system is touch-sensitive and of very high quality - there is even an imitation of feedback. The front row seats of the Lada Granta Sport have acquired a more aggressive look, have lateral support and are equipped with a heating function (for use in the cold season). Red stitching, which has become an integral part of the interior design, is also present in the design of the seats and handbrake. The seat belts have their own adjustable fasteners, which, unfortunately, is not available on the stock Grant.
The side panels are covered with good quality leatherette. The car interior is equipped with ISOFIX fastenings and has a rear door locking function, which increases the level of safety and allows you to travel comfortably even with small children without any problems. The rear row seat layout (40×60) makes it possible to rationally use the interior space. The volume of the luggage compartment in the standard position is 520 liters and can be increased due to the interior (you will have to fold the rear row seats).

Engine
The civilian version of the Lada Granta Sport is essentially fundamentally different from the sensational sports car. The main advantages of the production model lie in its engine compartment: the consumer is offered a car under the hood of which there is a forced 1.6-liter engine, from which it will be possible to squeeze out 114 “horses” at a speed of 6000 and with a torque of 150 Nm. The 16-valve gas distribution system was inherited from the 21126 power unit, on the basis of which the engine was built.

Even at the stage of technical design of the sports version of the car for the people, the manufacturer tried to adapt it for spare parts for serial and mass production. Therefore, the cylinder block and cylinder head have not undergone any changes. The unit is installed vertically; a feature here can be considered the unusual design of the intake and exhaust gas distribution systems, as well as the liquid cooling unit. The sport version also differs from the regular grant by having modified camshafts and a lightweight connecting rod and piston group. The picture is complemented by specialized firmware of the control unit (ECU), thanks to which the car literally takes off. With a 5-speed manual transmission, acceleration from zero to hundreds will be achieved in 9.5 seconds. The maximum speed limit is 195 km/h, but according to numerous reviews from car owners, not everyone managed to achieve it.
Exhaust system
- The main muffler is bifurcated
- Two pipes are located on the left and right sides of the rear bumper.
- The diameter of the exhaust pipes has become larger. The diameter of the pipe immediately behind the catalytic collector is 60 mm instead of 40 mm.
- Resistance in the exhaust system is reduced (this increases engine output).
- At high speeds, Lada Vesta Sport has an aggressive engine sound.
Price in various configurations
Let us immediately note that the difference between the currently available Drive Active and Sport trim levels lies primarily in the power of the car’s power unit. The basic version of the engine (21127) comes with a maximum torque of 148 Nm at 4200 rpm, while the advanced version (engine 21126) has 150 Nm at 4750 rpm. The difference here is reflected in power: the first option assumes a limit of 106 horsepower, and the second - 114 hp. This difference is visible in fuel consumption and maximum possible speed. By default, in this article we are considering the top-end configuration.

The minimum configuration of Grants Sport - Drive Active will cost you 454,400 rubles. For this price you will get a car equipped with 2 front airbags, daytime running lights, an immobilizer and a combined ABS+BAS system. The interior will feature headrests on the rear row seats, a 12-volt power outlet, a heated front seat system, air conditioning and a 4-speaker multifunction audio system. The steering is complemented by an electric booster, and the column is vertically adjustable. The front doors have electric windows. The on-board computer is equipped with a gear shift guidance system. There is a heated windshield and electrically heated rear-view mirrors.
The maximum configuration, in addition to the functionality listed in the database, has a standard alarm system and fog lights. The brakes here are of a larger size (due to the fact that the configurations are supplied with 15″ and 16″ inch wheels, respectively). In addition to the main socket, this equipment also provides an additional one - in the luggage compartment. In the interior, in addition to the seats and steering wheel, there is a stylish finish for the gear selector and handbrake. The body of this configuration has additional sound insulation. Central locking with remote control and electric windows for the rear doors appear here. The price of this modification is 525,500 rubles.
Interior
No official pictures of the car’s interior were presented, but now we can talk about the good equipment of the sports version.
Apparently, already in the basic equipment you will see the following functions:

“I chose the sports version of the grant as my first car, bought it in January 2022. Before that I had the pleasure of driving a Priora, and I must say that the difference is simply striking. In terms of price/quality ratio, this is an ideal option; finding another new car for the same money that would accelerate to the first “hundred” in less than 10 seconds is simply not realistic. Among the shortcomings, I encountered “howls” in the manual transmission and the sound insulation is far from ideal. Advantages and disadvantages
Among the advantages of the Sport version of Grants are:

There is no doubt that the current version of the Lada Granta Sport is the best model from the Russian automobile industry in terms of a car with a civil, demanding sporty style. Let's not compare the car with a famous modification intended only for the track. After all, cars with the Sport prefix have a completely civilian use and are truly widely popular.

For the first time, the sports version of the Lada Granta was presented to domestic car enthusiasts in 2011. Here AvtoVAZ did not miscalculate - the practice of producing cars of this category is successfully used by large foreign automakers. It all started with the release of a Granta Sport WTCC racing model, which was designed specifically for participation in racing competitions. This version of the sports car was equipped with a 240 horsepower engine that was paired with a sequential five-speed gearbox. Today we will talk about the production version of the Lada Granta Sport, which is coming off the production line en masse and is available to a wide category of consumers.
Design
Of course, the appearance does not differ significantly from the prototype, however, one has only to look and a person will forever fall in love with this miracle of automotive engineering, our Russian one. Undoubtedly, there are shortcomings, but why judge harshly, because this is, perhaps, the first domestic car, after the Niva, that has gained respect among European motorists.
The front part has not changed significantly, but even the bumper, which has a different texture, allowed us to look at the car in a more modern way. Surprisingly, the slightly inflated shapes fit perfectly into the overall environment and do not cause rejection.
The structure of the front optics, of course, there was no point in changing it, because the outlines are pretty good. Even some may argue that squareness is no longer in fashion, but let me say - classic sports cars have always been adherents of traditions.
In addition, the car’s sporty spirit is revealed by the seemingly inconspicuous radiator grille and simply massive air intake.
Turning to the silhouette, I would like to note the simply magnificent execution of the underskirt; yes, it’s possible that not everything is smooth, but you still feel a certain style and image.
At the rear, the manufacturer decided to please with the update more. It is felt that specialists worked on the bumper, because the texture is quite successful. The lower body kit has a pretty good “horseshoe”. As a highlight, even the trunk lid was changed, where there is now an embedded small spoiler, or rather, even a continuation of the lid, in the form of a tail.
Colors
The color scheme, as always, welcomes you with the widest range of shades that the manufacturer has in its arsenal. The most popular were black, white mother-of-pearl, gray, brown, and, oddly enough, silver, red, and blue.
Salon
Yes, if the appearance allowed the car enthusiast to melt, then the interior decoration surprises with its simplicity. Of course, it was difficult to introduce something like that into an already formed salon, but they could at least try. I was left with very contradictory impressions from what I saw. Of course, I wanted to really see the sports car inside.
It’s difficult to call the steering wheel sporty; its texture is ordinary, without any special features. The same can be said for the instrument panel. Classic VAZ modern speedometer, equipped with an on-board computer and two “dials”, surprisingly similar to motorcycle ones.
The center console is the same, the only thing is that it was on the sports version of the Grant that the newest touch screen was used for the first time. However, this now does not surprise even the classic modification.
Regarding the interior decoration, I would like to note that even though everything remains the same, even such minimal changes, such as red thread inserts throughout the cabin, make it pleasant to look at. The seats are the same, the profile, armchairs, and stops are all from the standard version, but the Sport has leather trim, which is nice. By the way, the quality of the material is really not bad.
The luggage compartment is decent, allows you to fit a lot of things, because it has 480 liters of freedom.

As for technology, there is a completely familiar platform from the civilian Grants, but it has a lot of modifications. The front suspension is MacPherson strut, which has already become a household name for almost any car, and the rear is a torsion beam. In addition, it is on Grant that there is a non-classical solution in terms of rigidity. This was achieved thanks to “clamped” springs.
