Often the determining factor is the cost of the models. And if you do not focus on the shortcomings described above, in this parameter the undisputed leader is Granta.

Exterior and interior

When viewed from the front (photo), the Lada Granta liftback is practically no different from the sedan; the differences are visible only in the shape of the side mirrors. Innovations become obvious when examining the rear, as the geometry of the body has been changed. In general, the look is very stylish and complete, although the liftback turned out to be 1.5 cm shorter than the Lada Granta sedan.

Due to the change in the rear and the slope of the roof, the design of the rear doors has also changed.

At first glance it may seem that there is less space for rear passengers, but in reality this is not the case.

Unlike the initial version of the sedan, which is equipped with 13" wheels, and in the top version - 14", the liftback is initially equipped with wheels with 14" disks, and in the luxury version - 15", although the wheel arches are large enough to install 16" wheels.

The interior of the cabin is almost identical to that of the regular Lada Granta; the main changes in the cabin affected only the luggage compartment, which according to the passport is significantly smaller than that of the sedan (430 liters versus 480). This discrepancy on paper was due to another method of calculating trunk volume - using volumetric cubes. In reality, the luggage compartment capacity of the Lada Granta liftback with the second row of seats folded reaches 760 liters.

What to choose - Priora or Grant?

For an objective comparison of which is better - Priora or Grant, you should also analyze the appearance of the models and their technical characteristics. It should be noted that Priora appeared much earlier than Granta. Therefore, some design solutions and equipment of the first one are simply outdated.

The Lada Granta has a much larger interior. The aerodynamic properties of the body have also been improved. However, Priora is a leader in the quality of materials used - polymers are distinguished by improved ductility.

According to the technical characteristics of the Grant, it has the following advantages:

  • A modern gearbox has been installed, it is possible to purchase an “automatic” model;
  • The maximum speed is higher – 183 km/h versus 168.5 km/h;

The price of Priora in the basic configuration is approximately equal to the luxury version of Granta. Over time, the latter should supplant the classic model if the manufacturer pays more attention to the build quality and materials used.

Disadvantages of the model

There are no perfect cars. You need to understand the purpose for which you are buying a car. When operating a premium car in off-road conditions, it will have no fewer disadvantages than a crossover when driving on the autobahn. The second important indicator is the price-quality ratio. You have to pay for comfort. The complexity of manufacturing, materials for interior decoration, sound insulation and other options for a luxury car will cost much more than for a budget car.
