For AVTOVAZ and the LADA Brand, 2022 was a bright year for new products and significant events. The main one was the integration of the LADA Brand into the global plan of the Renault Group - Renaulution. As part of the plan, the LADA and Dacia brands were merged into a single business unit. In February, LADA Niva Travel entered the market. The model received a new exterior design, including new brighter headlights and LED lights, while maintaining its uncompromising off-road capability. In March, the model range was replenished with the new LADA Largus: a passenger station wagon, a Cross version and a van. LADA Largus is a unique offer on the passenger station wagon market, thanks to the availability of a 7-seater version for passenger modifications. In September 2022, AVTOVAZ announced the start of sales of the updated LADA Niva Bronto. The SUV, created on the basis of the 3-door Niva Legend, has become even more comfortable and expressive, while maintaining its unsurpassed cross-country ability. In 2022, AVTOVAZ introduced to the market a new multimedia system LADA EnjoY Pro, developed taking into account the wishes of consumers. It provides the full functionality of a modern smartphone integrated into a car, with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a full range of built-in services from Yandex.Auto. Another high-tech service was the LADA Connect telematics platform, which first appeared on LADA Granta. The system allows you to remotely control car systems using a smartphone, as well as receive information about the location of the car. Export development of LADA In March 2022, AVTOVAZ and the Allur Group of Companies from Kazakhstan signed a Cooperation Agreement. AVTOVAZ’s new partner produces a wide range of LADA in Kostanay. A month later, AVTOVAZ entered into a distribution agreement with ORION Distribution. This step ensured continuity of sales and service in Kazakhstan, the No. 1 export market for LADA. Uzbekistan has become another LADA production site in the near abroad. In September, AVTOVAZ announced the start of serial assembly of cars together with the Roodell company, which organized the production of LADA at the new ADM-Jizzakh plant. September 4 marked 35 years since the government decree was issued on the creation of an industry-specific scientific and technical center (STC) at AVTOVAZ. The complex of design services and laboratories, many of which are unique nationwide, still operates successfully today - and is the basis of AVTOVAZ’s engineering service. Social policyOne of the main corporate events was the spring conference of the company’s employees, following which a decision was made to continue the most important social project - a program to improve working conditions. Activities related to the deep repair and modernization of social infrastructure facilities were developed and structured thanks to high activity, divided into 10 main areas, which are implemented based on the total amount of funding, it amounts to 4 billion 700 million rubles. This is 50% more than was provided for the first 3-year program in 2018-2020. Throughout the year, high attention was paid to protecting the company’s staff from coronavirus infection. AVTOVAZ took all possible comprehensive measures - stimulating the vaccination process, a large-scale information campaign on wearing masks and maintaining social distance on site, etc. AVTOVAZ also equipped buses that transport employees to work and home with air recirculators. Today, the vaccination rate of the enterprise team exceeds 80%. Payments in the amount of 1,500 rubles for each stage of vaccination and revaccination have been extended. An important decision to support the team was made by the conciliation commission of AVTOVAZ JSC in June: tariff rates and salaries for workers, managers, specialists and employees were increased by 6%. We also note that at the end of 2022, AVTOVAZ became the leader in the industry competition “Leader of the Automotive Industry in the Social Partnership System.” The event is held jointly by the Trade Union of Automotive and Agricultural Machinery Workers of the Russian Federation, which includes the Primary Trade Union Organization of AVTOVAZ and the Association of Russian Automobile Manufacturers with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. Motorsport This year was marked by the 50th anniversary of factory motorsport for the LADA Sport ROSNEFT racing team. The first start behind the wheel of racing VAZ-2101 took place in 1971; Soviet crews successfully debuted at the famous Tour of Europe marathon. Nowadays, the tradition of Soviet pilots is continued by LADA Sport ROSNEFT. The team’s main successes were again noted in the Russian circuit racing series, where Kirill Ladygin confirmed his championship title in the most prestigious category “Touring”. At the end of the season, his partner Mikhail Mityaev took the bronze cup; the sum of the pilots’ points allowed LADA Sport ROSNEFT to become the strongest team in the championship. In the Touring-Lite class, debutant Ivan Chubarov, having won 5 victories behind the wheel of a LADA Granta R1 during the season, was able to win the personal championship title, and the efforts of Leonid Panfilov allowed him to take the team trophy to Togliatti. The rally team - Dmitry Voronov and Viktor Pozern - in the 2022 season was remembered for 4 victories in 4 starts at the stages of the Russian Cup. The best representative of the karting team was Grigory Primak, the country's vice-champion in the OK class. Sim racers continue to please with their results. Kirill Antonov once again became the fastest driver of the LADA Sport ROSNEFT eChampionship, which was attended by several thousand people around the world. The end of this season for the LADA Sport ROSNEFT pilots was participation in the final of the WTCR Circuit Racing World Cup, which took place at Sochi Autodrom " in the end of November.

On July 20, 1966, the USSR government issued a decree on the construction of a plant in the city of Tolyatti to produce 600 thousand passenger cars per year. This date is considered the birthday of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant.

The day before the New Year, AvtoVAZ announced that the company had again become Russian. I mean, in terms of jurisdiction, it is no longer registered in a Dutch offshore. But the French still have a controlling stake. But everything can change; it is possible that the plant in Tolyatti will return to Russian ownership.
“In accordance with the agreements, the transition of the joint venture to Russian jurisdiction is completed. 100% of AvtoVAZ shares were transferred to a new joint company - Lada Auto Holding - with a legal address in Moscow. AvtoVAZ is a domestic brand, the plant operates in Russia, and now we are legally establishing this. French partners fully support this decision,” Rostec said in its pre-New Year message.
At the moment, 66.7% of the shares in the joint venture belong to Renault and only 32.3% to Rostec. In turn, no such Lada division no longer exists in the French concern. A year ago, on January 1, 2021, the Dacia-Lada structural unit was created, which does not have its own place for our automobile industry. There will only be one platform left - CMF-B (Logan / Sandero III) - everything else will go under the knife.
