Modification of the VAZ-2110 thermostat for 8 and 16 valves: instructions

Along with the drop in temperature due to the gradual arrival of winter, it began to get colder in the car.

It began to take more time to warm up the engine, then wait for the coolant temperature to rise to 60 degrees to turn on the heater and warm up.

In this regard, I remembered the modification of the cooling system of the VAZ 2109, when instead of the standard thermostat, a 6-hole thermostat from the VAZ 2110 is installed. It is improved in comparison with the standard one and has the following advantages:

  • — the thermostat has been modified to ensure a more stable coolant temperature; — fewer connections on clamps. The standard thermostat is attached to the outlet pipe through a rubber connecting tube; — the thermostat is made collapsible for the possibility of replacing the thermoelement separately from the body;
  • — the new thermostat is 5 cm shorter than the standard one — there is more space.

Types of thermostats from left to right: old style, 5-hole, 6-hole

To remove the thermostat and not spill antifreeze, you must first release the pipe on the throttle assembly and drain what spills out through it. All you have to do is be careful and not spill antifreeze when disconnecting the return pipe from the heater radiator.

We connect a new thermostat with 6 holes according to the following diagram:

Connecting a 6-hole thermostat according to the standard diagram

It will be necessary to install a new pipe through which the antifreeze is sent back to the pump, the so-called “saxophone” (2110-1303055-10), it is shorter than the standard one from the VAZ-2109. However, newer cars already have this pipe installed from the factory. You may also need hoses, clamps, and a gasket for a new thermostat. It is advisable to try on the thermostat and determine locally whether the hoses will need to be replaced.

Above is a standard connection diagram for a 6-hole thermostat. However, it is recommended to connect such a thermostat using a different, modernized circuit.

Connecting a 6-hole thermostat

The meaning of this connection is that the coolant, which has given off heat in the heater radiator, is directed back to the temperature-sensitive element of the thermostat (rather than drained into the receiving pipe to the pump), and cools it a little, preventing the large circle from opening until the temperature of the antifreeze coming from the heater won't rise. It turns out that now the thermostat also takes into account the temperature of the coolant from the heater radiator, which makes the engine temperature more stable, and the car will be warmer in winter. To connect you will need a special tee.

With such a system for connecting a 6-hole thermostat, there is no need to install cardboard boxes so familiar to all owners of domestic cars in front of the radiator. In summer, there are no differences in the operation of all types of thermostats.

Modification of the thermostat on VAZ 2110 and 2112. Putting the cooling in order

Car enthusiasts often modify the thermostat on the VAZ 2110 and 2112, this is due to the technical features of this part. As a rule, modifying the thermostat is necessary to achieve more efficient operation of the heater, and such work will also allow you to minimize the risk of engine overheating. That is why they mainly work with this element of the cooling system. There are several methods that are used to solve such a problem; in the end, the driver chooses the most convenient option for him. In general, any of the methods leads to a positive effect. Below we will consider the main features of thermostats, as well as the simplest and most reliable methods for tuning them. Modifying the thermostat on the VAZ 2110 and 2112 is a simple job. But, after it is carried out, you will significantly increase the comfort of the cabin. Perhaps this is the main goal when carrying out such work. But, at the same time, having understood the principle of operation of the cooling system, you will be able to identify all possible malfunctions without any problems, as well as eliminate them.

Engine cooling fan

VAZ 2110 engine cooling fan

Regarding the modification of the cooling system, which is often carried out, here we are talking about the fan. VSOD, as it is commonly called, on the VAZ 2110 has only one operating speed, although this causes a lot of dissatisfaction on the part of the motorist. So we have to carry out modernization and refinement.

VAZ 2110 engine cooling and fan

As a rule, motorists do not like it when the coolant arrow on the dashboard moves abruptly, and the fan turns on too abruptly. Let's consider below the disadvantages of the standard cooling system, which we will call CO in this article:

  • the effect of thermal pumping, when during the hot season the temperature constantly fluctuates;
  • constant shock loads (meaning electrical, current loads) on the on-board network.

It is not surprising that many drivers are annoyed when in the summer, at average driving speeds, the coolant temperature on the dashboard approaches the red zone. Of course, then the fan is connected and the arrow drops, but still.

  • Such spasmodic behavior of the needle is considered the norm for VAZs, but drivers still look with envy at foreign cars where this is not observed. And all this can be easily eliminated if modernization is carried out.
  • It is worth considering that when the needle jumps, errors on the on-board panel are possible, while the readings from the on-board computer are quite normal. But the irritation does not go away, and the effect is unpleasant and always alarming. I want to make temperature control smooth, so that the temperature is always maintained at the same level.

Modification of CO and fan using the first method

VAZ 2110 engine cooling system modification of Carlson (fan)

To do this, you will need to reduce the rotation speed of the Carlson. As for the electric motor, in this case, it will be necessary to ensure that it starts smoothly and, most importantly, at a lower coolant temperature (in other words, the electric motor will start earlier than usual).

It is worth noting that the method described above is more suitable for people who are professionally versed in electrical engineering. The method is quite complicated, but gives excellent results. As for modifications with your own hands, it is better to use the second method.

Second revision method

Modification of the engine cooling system for the VAZ 2110

Forced inclusion of Carlson is the second method. Needless to say, the fan will be connected via a button. This is very convenient and in the summer, in the hottest heat, you can turn on the Carlson with one press of a button, which will rotate at low speeds.

Technical features

On “tens” and “dvenashki” there are 2 types of thermostats. They differ in the number of holes through which coolant is passed. The basic configuration uses a version with 5 holes, but such thermostats have one significant drawback: they limit the heating of the stove.

It is worth noting

that you can find old and new thermostats on sale. The main difference between them is the ability to disassemble the part. Until 2003, cars were equipped only with collapsible thermostats, after which non-dismountable options began to be installed. Technically, they are practically indistinguishable and can be interchangeable. But, for some types of tuning, only old-style thermostats should be used.

The thermostat's job is to regulate coolant flow. At low temperatures, only a small circle is used, so the thermostat is closed. As soon as it reaches a certain temperature, it is triggered and coolant is released through the radiator. All this allows you to quickly warm up the engine, but at the same time effectively fight against overheating. It is worth noting that some tuning methods slightly increase the engine warm-up time.

The main goal of tuning is to provide comfort

How often have VAZ 2114 owners encountered problems with the cooling system? One gets the impression that without them it is difficult to imagine at least one domestically produced car. Even with proper operation in winter, the appropriate temperature regime is not provided. This also applies to the summer period, when the air temperature is +30°C, air conditioning is not provided, and a fan will promote the circulation of hot air.

Cooling system diagram

The main drawback of the VAZ 2114, with which problems most often arise, is the unsatisfactory heating of the interior, especially when starting to drive. The stove begins to perform its functions as the car as a whole warms up. When the cooling system reaches a value of 80°C, the air temperature inside the car drops sharply. As a result, it even becomes cool. It follows from this that this system begins to work when the radiator is hot to the limit and the fan (or forced cooling system) of the car automatically turns on. How to fix this situation?

Which thermostat should you choose?

So, it has already been mentioned that there are collapsible and non-dismountable thermostats. But this is not the only nuance by which you can choose these details. There is also a division according to the number of holes. All stock thermostats have 5 holes, and tuning ones have 6 holes. Before you start making your choice, you should understand the difference between them.

Thermostats with 6 holes allow you to get better cooling, and the stove also works more efficiently with them. But in winter, the engine will take longer to warm up.

We install a thermostat from another model

There is another way to improve the operation of the thermostat; to achieve efficiency, you should use a part from a different model. If selected correctly, no additional modifications will be required, and at the same time, the system will work correctly and without failures. The most important thing here is not to make a mistake when choosing a part. The best option would be to install a thermostat from Lada Granta; it is almost identical in mounting, but is more efficient. Therefore, many drivers limit themselves to installing it.

There is no need to modify the thermostat itself. But, it is a little larger compared to the standard part. Therefore, the studs will need to be replaced. 20 mm longer are installed in their place.

. This will be quite enough. There are no special features to the replacement process. Simply remove the old thermostat and install a new one in its place. Be sure to replace the gaskets.

5 hole thermostat modification

In this case, they simply make another hole, resulting in a thermostat with 6 holes. Carefully drill a hole in the thermostat housing and install the pipe into it. A washer from the throttle is also installed together with the pipe. This entire structure is covered with cold welding. All that remains is to assemble the thermostat. As a result, you will receive a workable design that will be superior to the standard version.

The standard heating and cooling system on domestic cars leaves much to be desired. Therefore, modification of the thermostat on the VAZ 2110 and 2112 is simply necessary in most cases. This work is not difficult; it does not require a large number of tools or special skills. Everything can be done in the garage, and in the shortest possible time. As a result, you will get a significantly more comfortable car interior.

Why is modernization necessary?

It is worth immediately noting that altering the cooling system of the VAZ 2114 is not a prerequisite for the normal operation of the car.

Its main goal is to achieve maximum comfort in the car interior in both hot and cold weather. It will help avoid excessive heat or cold inside the car and eliminate sudden temperature changes (typical, by the way, for all other AvtoVAZ cars - after all, they all have a cooling system built on the same general principle).

Many consider the most likely cause of poor system performance to be the radiator, which really does not have a high throughput; others blame the pump (and in some cases it is actually the culprit).

But, as serious research has shown, the main reason for poor performance of the cooling system is its thermostat. After all, it is this part that is responsible for uniformly heating the water and protecting it from excessive heating or freezing.

Features of the VAZ-2110 thermostat

The thermostat in a car of any brand is a device that redistributes liquid flows in a car engine. It regulates the temperature of antifreeze (antifreeze) to cool the engine system:

  • accelerates the process of warming up the engine as a whole;
  • maintains optimal operating temperature.

Experts call the main function of a car thermostat device to block the flow of cooling antifreeze as it enters the radiator. This is due to the operating mechanism of the thermostat itself. The fact is that antifreeze does not pass through a cold engine, and when it is heated to a certain temperature, the thermostat is triggered - it opens, and thanks to this the engine can warm up faster.

The design of a car thermostat is no different, as it consists of several elements:

All these elements are enclosed in a housing on which information about temperature conditions is indicated that corresponds to a specific car engine model.

Troubleshooting

A number of signs may indicate that the cooling system is failing, including:

  1. Antifreeze disappears from the system;
  2. The engine takes a long time to warm up. If this is due to weather conditions (frost, lack of a garage), then you need to insulate the engine;
  3. The engine detonates. This situation can most often arise due to the fact that a machine in which the cooling system is faulty is operated for a long time without proper repair;
  4. The sensor located on the instrument panel indicates that the coolant temperature has reached a dangerous temperature (arrow in the red zone);
  5. Torque is lost. This is a very unpleasant phenomenon in which, most often due to the fact that the engine has overheated, the head gasket leaks.

Instruction No. 1

It often happens that the engine temperature does not rise to the optimal temperature during operation. For example, on the body of a thermostat device, 90 degrees is marked, and the temperature is not higher than 85. This problem can be solved with the help of a simple modification - modifying the rod. The fact is that in the process of opening the thermostat, the rod rests against the cover. If you expand the special recess in the lid, the thermostat will operate later. Therefore, it is easier to replace the rod with a bolt of the appropriate size.

  1. Pull the rod itself out of the cover.
  2. Drill a through hole at 4.5.
  3. Cut the internal thread to 5.
  4. Select the bolt length with a margin.
  5. Place a lock nut at 5 and a washer with an elastic band to seal.
  6. Reinstall the thermocouple.
  7. Fill with antifreeze.
  8. Check in practice, adjust the beginning of the opening of the large circle to 89 degrees.

Now the temperature will remain 90-92 degrees, as stated on the thermostat housing.

Functionality check

Before changing the thermostat on your VAZ 2110, it is recommended to first check it for functionality. Sometimes the problem lies elsewhere, and craftsmen immediately take on the rather complex task of replacing the cooling element. There's no need to rush. First we will talk about how to check the thermostat on a VAZ 2110.

  1. Radiator pipe heating. Grab the lower pipe with your hand and ask a friend to start the engine. First, the car must cool down properly, that is, be cold. At first, the pipe will also be cold, but when the engine starts, it will quickly heat up. If this happens, then the thermostat is working.
  2. Thermocouple. To dispel doubt, perform disassembly. The thermoelement, which is responsible for starting the coolant circulation, is removed from the removed thermostat. Dip this element into water heated to approximately 75 degrees and heat it further. Now lower the thermometer into the water and monitor the temperature and the device. When the temperature starts to reach 90 degrees, the rod from the thermocouple should extend. If this does not happen, replace the thermocouple. This is a common problem and does not require a complete replacement of the entire thermostat. You should know how much a thermostat costs for a VAZ 2110 car, and you don’t really want to waste that kind of money.
  3. New element. If replacement is still required, remove the old thermostat, take it with you to the auto parts store and buy the same new one. But be careful not to purchase a defective part. Blow into the fitting properly. If air does not come out from anywhere, then the part is working properly.

New thermocouple

Instruction No. 2

Experienced car enthusiasts offer another way to improve the VAZ-2110 thermostat device. This method consists of replacing a thermoelement with a low temperature regime with a higher one - from 85 degrees to 92 degrees. To do this, you need to select an analog thermostat model (for example, Wahler), from which you can remove the thermoelement and the spring.

So let's get started. The first step is to remove the spring and thermoelement from the analog thermostat, cut the body of the device and take out the necessary structural parts.

The second step is to grind the spring down to the required size, so that it fits tightly into the body of the “original” thermostat (it is best to do this on a plane, as a result of which the last coil will become flat and will fit better).

The third step is to remove the “original” thermostat from the engine; to do this, unscrew the three screws of the rear cover.

The fourth step is to take out an 85-degree thermocouple and a spring from the “native” thermostat device.

The fifth step is to replace it with analog parts (an important nuance should be taken into account: the clamping bar must remain “original”).

The sixth step is to assemble a thermostat with a new filling and install it on the internal combustion engine of the car.

Thanks to this modification method, the engine temperature will not be below 88 degrees. As a result of this modification, the vehicle owner will receive the following benefits:

  • there will be no thermal overheating of the engine;
  • fuel consumption will decrease (according to car enthusiasts, up to 1.5 liters);
  • the engine runs more smoothly.

Instruction No. 3

Also a popular way to modify the VAZ-2110 thermostat is to reduce the bypass channel. This channel serves to circulate coolant. Experts say: the narrower its diameter, the more antifreeze flows through the heater-stove. And, therefore, the vehicle interior will be warmer. In order to narrow the bypass channel, you must adhere to the following instructions:

  1. Prepare a thin aluminum plate of a suitable size (several millimeters thick).
  2. Make a template for the future blank that will be inserted inside the thermostat.
  3. Cut a plate from an aluminum blank according to the template.
  4. Secure the new part to the thermostat housing using cold welding or using rivets.
  5. Drill a hole in the fixed plate - a diameter of 5-6 millimeters (standard hole size is 8 millimeters).

Those who have already made this modification note the following feature: it has become warmer inside the car, but the process of warming up the engine has slowed down somewhat.

Instruction No. 4

If your VAZ-2110 car has a 5-hole thermostat, then it can be modified so that there is one more hole in the body, that is, you need to make a six-hole thermostat from a five-hole thermostat.
Another pipe will be attached to this additional hole to drain spent antifreeze from the heater into the thermostat cavity. Thanks to this modification, the car engine will not become overcooled. There are also instructions for this:

  1. An additional hole of a standard size of 8 millimeters is drilled in the thermostat housing for another pipe.
  2. An additional pipe is installed (this must be done parallel to the same “original” pipe, which goes directly to the stove).
  3. A throttle washer is installed for a hole with a diameter of 8 millimeters (it can be used to increase the flow of antifreeze through the heater when the small circulation circle is open).

Also, we must not forget about the adjusting bolt, which rests on the thermostat housing cover. It serves to regulate the temperature when the thermostat device is opened externally.

If you do not have the time and desire to modify the “original” five-hole thermostat of your car, then you can purchase a new six-hole one, install it and enjoy all the advantages of this device.

Additional purpose of SOD

VAZ 21102 engine cooling system and electric fan

Being a system that is designed to cool engine parts that heat up during vehicle operation, the SOD also has a secondary purpose. In particular, this applies to indicators such as:

  • heating the air in the heating system inside the cabin;
  • reducing the temperature of the forced air entering the cylinders (applies to turbocharged engines);
  • cooling the transmission fluid if the car has an automatic transmission;
  • reducing the temperature of exhaust gases entering the recirculation system;
  • The oil is also cooled using an additional built-in radiator.

Marking of the VAZ 21102 engine cooling relay

You can learn more about the VAZ 2110 SOD through videos or photos that are widely available on the Internet. Each motorist can modify the system with his own hands as he pleases, but only if the instructions, of course, imply this. The price of a new fan is not so high that you would not try to upgrade the engine cooling system.

We independently modify the VAZ 2110 thermostat or install a replacement

Many VAZ 2110 owners are dissatisfied with the performance of their car's heater. It would seem that the interior has already been insulated, no cold air is coming in from outside, the stove seems to be working, but it is still cold in the cabin.

Therefore, auto craftsmen come to the conclusion that the original stove may be nothing, but modifying the thermostat on the VAZ 2110 will not be superfluous at all. Therefore, someone, having bought a new thermostat, even before installing it on the car, makes modifications: the circuit on the 5-hole one is redone, making it 6-hole.

Factory thermostat

Others believe that it is enough to narrow the canal bypass. Third, it is much better to install a Granta thermostat, since it completely shuts off a large circle of coolant and, accordingly, the heater begins to supply hot air to the cabin much faster.

Let's consider all the options, but first you need to check whether the thermostat is to blame for the fact that there is clearly not enough heat in the cabin.

How everything works

The VAZ 2110 engine cooling system is a certain component of the car, without which it is simply impossible to imagine the normal functioning of the internal combustion engine. This system is liquid, closed type and has a forced circulation design. As a rule, various engines are installed on the VAZ 2110, each of which has its own differences and features. A typical VAZ 2110 engine consists of the following components:

  • a radiator (see Replacing a VAZ 2110 radiator on your own), which is designed to operate the heater and its hose;
  • other hoses, including those draining and supplying liquid;
  • sensors, including liquid temperature, level, fan;
  • expansion tanks, radiator;
  • pipes;
  • liquid chambers, starting;
  • belt;
  • casing;
  • pipes, etc.

As for the cooling system of the VAZ 2110 injection engine, the latter consists of the same components that were presented above. But, in addition, the cooling system of this engine is also equipped with two separate hoses, one of which is supplied to the throttle pipe, and the other drains the liquid. In addition, here the coolant sensor is installed in the outlet pipe. It is noteworthy that the cooling systems of the units on the VAZ are distinguished by a modified hose connection diagram, in particular the radiator and the installation of a thermostat. Thus, in new engines, a more modern thermostat is used, housed in a cast aluminum housing. In addition, on new engines the expansion tank has also been changed, which is significantly larger.

Note. As for the coolant level indicator sensor, it is not installed on injector engines.

Modification of the thermostat

On a VAZ 2110, it is quite possible to modify the thermostat by adding another hole to the 5-hole device. Why is this needed and what does it give?

  • In cars, in particular on the VAZ 2110, the injector becomes warmer with the advent of the sixth fitting due to the fact that the bypass channel decreases. For reference: a bypass is a pump for circulating liquid in a parallel pipeline;
  • For the stove to operate, it is necessary for the coolant to circulate in a small circle. This happens through the bypass channel. The smaller its diameter, the more liquid will flow through the stove;
  • An additional fitting, as a rule, prevents the heater return tee from leaking, since such malfunctions are not uncommon on “tens”.

An additional 8 mm hole is drilled in the body of the vehicle (thermostat). Install an additional pipe parallel to the same one going to the stove. It is needed so that the “waste” liquid from the heater enters the thermostat cavity, and there is no overcooling of the engine.

conclusions

Thus, through far from the most complex manipulations, you can achieve a truly amazing effect. Just sealing the cracks of the VAZ 2110’s thermal channels can improve the temperature balance inside the interior of your car, not to mention a lot of simpler and more reliable methods.

Before you jump into upgrading your heating system, it’s still worth checking the operation of the stove itself. Do not forget to change the air filter of the VAZ 2110-2112 furnace every 15 thousand kilometers. Poor heating of the interior can also be caused by a faulty fan or a leaking coolant radiator.

Narrowing of the bypass channel

If you decide that it is the bypass channel on the VAZ 2110 that needs to be adjusted, then the 6-hole thermostat should not have any problems. But with a 5-hole one, malfunctions may occur due to the fact that the cold pipe of the stove (outlet) will not be washed. Therefore, think about whether you need such a modification; maybe it’s better to immediately install a Granta thermostat or a six-hole one.

To reduce the bypass, you need to do the following:

  1. Cut a plate out of sheet aluminum so that it fits exactly inside the vehicle;
  2. Secure the plate with a rivet or cold welding, but so that the fastening does not interfere with the flow of coolant in a small circle;
  3. In this plate you need to drill a new hole of 5 or 6 mm (instead of the standard 8 mm);
  4. In addition to the steps described above, on a 6-hole heater, the stove return is connected to a thermostat.

After this modification, you will notice that the interior will warm up better and faster, but engine warming up will slow down somewhat.

Sealing the cracks in the front panel of the torpedo air ducts

The main problem with good blowing of the side windows is the presence of a large number of cracks in the torpedo air duct system, which should only be repaired, thereby reducing heat loss and significantly increasing the air pressure for blowing the side windows of the car.

Heater air duct installation

You will need silicone or anti-squeak (modelin). We seal all the cracks in the upper and lower parts of the torpedo panel along the perimeter. Also, don't forget to silicone all mounting holes. At this point, the first stage of work can be considered completed.

Installation of a modified vehicle

On a VAZ 2110 you can easily install a more advanced thermostat from Granta 2190. But you should still know a little about the design of the heating/cooling system in Granta. Its scheme can be easily implemented on the “ten”.

  • Original TS Grants 2190 from BEHR;
  • The lower radiator hose is from Granta, but the upper one 21214 will also work, or simply matched to size;
  • Tee from VAZ 2110 for the cooling system;
  • The studs are 8 mm in length - like from the camshaft bed;
  • Straight long stove pipe from the “ten”;
  • Gasket for thermostat.

We act according to this plan:

  1. We change the lower radiator pipe to the one from Granta (or similar). You can leave the original one, but connect it to a suitable diameter at a right angle using a piece of pipe. However, remember - the more connections, the more opportunities for leaks;
  2. We connect the expansion tank pipe through a VAZ 2110 tee: one end goes to the drain from the heater radiator, the other end goes to the supply pipe;
  3. Drain the coolant;
  4. We change the studs to longer ones and install the Granta thermostat;
  5. We twist the temperature sensor.

Next comes a check to see if the modified heating system is working properly. Typically, the Grant vehicle is more stable, provides faster heating of the air in the cabin, and is not subject to temperature fluctuations.

Dismantling and replacement

Replacing the thermostat on a VAZ 2110 car will not be difficult, even without the help of specialists. You have checked its functionality and confirmed that it is faulty.

Removal

Removing the thermostat involves performing work in the following sequence:

  1. Take a screwdriver, an 8 key, a 6 hex key and other tools.
  2. Make sure the engine is cold. It is strictly prohibited to carry out work on a hot engine.
  3. Drain the coolant by unscrewing the plug.
  4. Remove the air filter.
  5. Locate the clamp on the radiator hose. Loosen it a little, you don't need to remove it completely.
  6. Disconnect the hose from the thermostat.
  7. Using the same method, disconnect the coolant pump hose.
  8. Using a 5mm wrench, unscrew the bolts that secure the thermostat. There are three of them on the VAZ 2110.
  9. Remove the thermostat cover.
  10. Remove the thermostat and rubber O-rings from the cover.

Installing a new component

Now let's figure out how to change the old thermostat from a VAZ 2110 to a new one.

As we have already noted, many craftsmen recommend using a thermostat from a VAZ 2111. It is more practical, more reliable, and more compact. Therefore, we offer recommendations for replacement with an eye to using just such a thermostat.

The installation process is not complicated, but it will require some care from you in performing each of the stages:

  1. First, cut a special tee into the supply hose from the stove. This is necessary because some thermostats have five fittings without access to the expansion tank. And we need six.
  2. Dismantle the distributor, which will make it easier to complete the following steps. But this is only relevant for a carburetor engine. In VAZ 2110 injection models, skip this step.
  3. Be sure to mark the position of the distributor relative to the body of the additional units to avoid mistakes during reassembly. Otherwise, you will disrupt the ignition and the engine will not start.
  4. Remove the tee from the cylinder head.
  5. Clean the mating plane head from traces of the old gasket.
  6. Get a new thermostat that fits your vehicle. Muffle the thin heating output using the throttle valve. You won't need it in the future.
  7. Unscrew the top pin and install a new, longer one in its place.
  8. Don't be alarmed, the new thermostat is shorter than the old one, the outlet and the pipe do not match. It's not scary. It is necessary to completely dismantle the pipe and put a new one in its place. An element from a VAZ 2112 is perfect. It is also advisable to find a new corner pipe.
  9. Install a new pipe, do not forget about the gasket.
  10. Shorten the elbow and screw it into place.
  11. Replace the standard heater hose with a new one that fits your thermostat.
  12. Connect the expansion tank, which is specially designed for this purpose, to the fitting.
  13. Check the quality of each connection so that you don’t have to do all the work again later.
  14. Fill with new coolant.
  15. Remove all air from the system.
  16. Warm up the engine until the fan comes on. To do this, it is necessary to warm up the power unit to approximately 85 degrees.
  17. If you don’t notice any traces of drops or leaks, it means you replaced the part correctly.
