Cruise control works from 3rd gear by pressing the upper right button on the steering wheel. The orange indicator on the instrument panel will light up.
Then click “+”. A beep sounds and the light turns green. We start moving at the speed indicated below, it has already become 61 km per hour. By clicking on “plus” we increase, “minus” we decrease. To cancel the action, press “Can”, the car begins to brake with the engine. To resume, click “Res".
The cruise control speed display on the instruments is in the bottom row, and there is its icon on the left. Now we are driving in 3rd gear. The system can accelerate the car even more. Now it’s already 3000 rpm, but if we need to change gear, we squeeze the clutch, put it in fourth, and release the pedal.
The car, after thinking for a couple of seconds, begins to accelerate further. You can start increasing the cruise control speed with the “+” key. The car accelerates. Now, if we have caught up with someone and want to temporarily stop the system, then click “Can”. The indicator turns orange and engine braking occurs.
We decided to continue - press “Res”, acceleration occurs to the last specified value. Now, if I stop the cruise control again and resume it with the "+" button, then the speed will start from the moment we pressed this key. The driver's actions also occur when switching to a lower gear.
Advantages and disadvantages
The Granta is quite a budget car and therefore its popularity is quite high. First of all, this model is preferred by family people who love traveling or those who are forced to travel a lot due to their duties.
However, the need to constantly change speed makes driving in Grant not the most comfortable pastime. It is in such situations that installing cruise control will provide a more pleasant driving experience.
The system under consideration allows the car to move at a clearly defined speed, which means that manipulations with the gas pedal and gearbox will not distract the driver from the road. Among other things, maintaining a constant speed allows you to significantly reduce fuel consumption, which in the current conditions of the economic crisis is a useful bonus.
In addition, if you install adaptive cruise control, safety also increases. This device allows you to control and maintain the selected distance between the car in front and yours.
Here the risk of emergency situations is reduced to very small.
For people who mainly travel on city roads, cruise control will be a useless acquisition, but the installation will pay off if long-distance travel is periodically undertaken (for example, during vacation).

Selecting cruise control
As you know, this option is offered by the manufacturer in the “luxury” configuration of not only Grants, but also Kalinas, equipped with an automatic rifle.
However, more modest modifications (for example, “norm”) are not equipped with cruise control. But still, nothing prevents you from installing this device yourself. The easiest way is to mount a standard device.
This opportunity is available to the owners of the Grant (liftback or sedan) and the second Kalina, equipped with both manual transmission and AMT.
If an automatic transmission is installed, then the standard option will not work - you will have to use universal cruise control from other manufacturers.
It is important that the car also has a TsBKE.
It is better to install a standard device equipped with 2 displays. It is important to clarify when purchasing which gearbox you have on the Grant. Each case requires a different cruise control.
You will also need a steering column switch mounted on the right. In principle, the left one is also suitable - it will allow you to preserve the native design style. You will also need a new instrument panel with openings for the previously mentioned displays. After this element and switch are installed, it is necessary to reconfigure the ignition key and possibly change the ECU firmware.
You should also know that the adaptive version costs much more than the standard one, but the level of safety for the driver and passengers is much greater. In general, the cost of cruise control depends on:
- the company that produced it;
- type;
- appearance.
It is also important to carefully consider the selection of the lever - some people choose those that more closely match the design of the other devices installed in Grant. However, practice shows that their overly large handles are not very comfortable.
Installation
To work you will need the following tools:
- Screwdriver Set;
- scissors;
- thin punch or awl;
- sectional knife;
- wrench and set of sockets for it;
- self-tapping screws
First of all, you need to choose a suitable place on the panel. If a standard device is installed, then it is simply replaced. Otherwise, you will have to get out of the situation by cutting additional holes. It is most convenient to place the device itself (executive module) next to the fuel filter.
The throttle cable is adjusted, but not before the bracket for the accelerator status sensor is installed.
The electrical part of the cruise control is installed after detecting the tachometer signals. For this you need an oscilloscope. Having identified the desired wire, connect it to the green one from the control unit of the device. Red goes to the brake light switch.
The start button is connected to the gray wires. It is important to connect the ground (it is black).
The handle is mounted in place (the steering wheel will need to be disassembled). You will also need to disable the airbag, if equipped.
That's all. All that remains is to check the functionality of the device and, if necessary, replace the ECU firmware.

Connecting the cruise control Drivenge
We connect the cruise control with standard connectors into the gas pedal gap and the accelerator pedal connector. There are still four wires left that we connect:
- red (plus, from +10 to 18 V) -> to the ignition switch (pin 30 – from the battery, pin 15 – after ignition);
- black (ground) -> any bolt on the body;
- yellow (speed sensor) -> to the EUR (gray, second from the right on the block);
- brown (brake pedal sensor) -> to red-blue (Kalina 2) or blue-burgundy (Granta).
For a manual transmission, you should also connect the green wire to the clutch pedal sensor; for an automatic transmission, we leave it unconnected.

- For an Android smartphone, download and install the ECU Tweaker application. We copy the ecu.zip archive to the root of the internal or external memory without unpacking it.
- Connect the ELM327 V1.5 adapter to the OBDII port of the car.
- Turn on the ignition.

- In the search, select “Clio V”

How to install standard cruise control on Lada Granta, Kalina
AvtoVAZ has equipped luxury versions of Kalina and Granta with cruise control and a speed limiter. Unfortunately, on simpler trim levels (for example, “norm”) there is no such useful option, but you can install it yourself.
Standard cruise control can be installed on Lada Granta or Kalina 2 models with VAZ-11186 or VAZ-21127 engines, which are paired with a manual transmission or AMT. For automatic transmission, only the option with universal cruise control is suitable. It is also necessary to have a CBKE.
What else can he do?
It is worth touching on the additional features that cruise control provides. In addition to determining the distance between cars, calculated from the delay time of the reflected signal, the system is able to determine the speed of the car ahead, for which a change in the frequency of the reflected signal is used according to the Doppler effect.
