The difference between the Kirzhach and Bosch turn signals on the VAZ 2110

Headlight modernization

Kirzhach, unlike Bosch, has a more convenient design, which allows, if desired, to modify and modernize the product, improving its performance. To do this, it is necessary to make small changes to the configuration details, which will improve the quality and space of the light beam. Simply put, Kirzhach is more convenient for motorists who have the opportunity to make their own adjustments and modify the manufacturer’s products.

To carry out the procedure for finalizing the Kirzhach model, it is necessary to remove it; to do this, you must carry out the following steps:

  1. Disassembling the headlight. First you need to remove the glass. Try to be as careful as possible not to damage the glass, because... it is planted using sealant.
  2. Disconnect the reflective pad by unscrewing the three fastening bolts.
  3. There is no need to completely disassemble the headlight piece by piece, because we are only interested in modules.

Let’s move on to the procedure for upgrading the Kirzhach model, and this can be done in different ways:

Moving the lens to the reflector. This process will allow you to change the angle of incidence of the light beam as needed. When moving the lens, keep in mind that the curtain should be at the same distance, 50 - 51mm. Then we take measurements to move the lens closer to the reflector by 10 mm. Then we saw off along the mark and fix the lens back into the module; the module became shorter.

The finished curtain must be attached directly to the module reflector. The module is then assembled and the light beam is focused by moving the lens.

Installing the module directly into the headlight has some nuances. Due to the shortening of the module body, it is located deeper, so a decorative overlay will interfere with the scattering of light. Thus, it is better to secure the module with 2 bolts, which will secure the housing and reflector and also secure the module inside the headlight. The nuance is that both nuts are tightened simultaneously and quite tightly.

Please note that the module must be installed level, otherwise the headlight will start shining in the wrong direction, and the adjustment will not help

It is important to check the operation of the headlight before seating the headlight glass on sealants.

  • The module ring needs to be ground off. This procedure only applies to grinding edges on the modular body. If you reduce the edges of the ring by 1 mm, it will not interfere with the penetration of light.
  • Changing the shape of the reflector to increase the width of the light beam.

If the headlights do not shine well enough, you can resort to independent modernization using any of the listed methods, or all of them together. While Bosch headlights are of a more complex design, the Kirzhach model has a simpler assembly, which allows you to upgrade them yourself.

What is the difference

The first thing that will “catch your eye” upon careful examination of “Bosch” and “Kirzhach” in the process of searching for differences between them will be the difference between the reflectors. The Kirzhach reflector, as a rule, has a slightly more elongated shape; moreover, the light beam in it is divided by a special partition. In Bosch the beam is not split and the reflector is wider.

The individual headlight segments in the case of the Bosch model are held together only with the help of a spring tensioner, while the rotating segment of the Kirzhach is attached to ties and special latches. This makes the latter option more versatile in terms of modifications. The products can also be distinguished by the texture of the glass, although both have the same quality of material.

And finally, the last difference can be found the first time the light bulb needs to be replaced. The fact is that the Kirzhach casing is attached to the main part with special screws, while on Bosch optics it is not secured with threaded connections, and can simply be removed from the product. This somewhat facilitates and speeds up the work of replacing a burnt-out light bulb, and since this phenomenon occurs quite often, this design feature cannot but please owners of Bosch optics.

POSSIBLE INSTALLATION PROBLEMS

The headlights on the VAZ 2114 Bosch still have certain technical differences both from the original components and from the Kirzhach. For example, due to the fact that the light module is somewhat shorter, the cover that covers the glass may interfere with the uniform dispersion of light. Therefore, it is better to fasten the headlight to the car body with bolts so that the reflector is also screwed inside the headlight. To screw the headlight evenly, you need to gradually tighten both bolts, distributing the efforts. If you place it unevenly, then the headlight may begin to shine not directly and downward, but in an unknown direction, and it will be of no use on the road.

Also, during installation, you should always align the edges of each case to avoid burrs. If you make the edges smooth, then they will not interfere with the passage of light, and one millimeter of metal will not affect the reliability of installation. And if you are not satisfied with the width of the light beam that covers the road, then you can try to find another reflector. Any of the methods discussed can help correct the situation and make Kirzhach headlights better and more productive. By the way, it’s really better to modernize Kirzhach yourself, since Bosch is structurally a little more complex than its competitor.

Conclusion

Perhaps you have already decided for yourself which headlights are better for the VAZ 2114, Kirzhach or Bosch. But let's go through all the positions again, so:

  1. We found out that Bosch headlights have a much brighter and more saturated light, unlike the opponent’s models.
  2. Kirzhach headlights can be modernized yourself, changes can be made using the method you need. But it is important to note that not all drivers are ready to spend time altering their headlights, even for the better. Again, there are exceptions to the general rule; there are motorists who are ready to constantly improve the technical characteristics of their car, even if it concerns headlights.
  3. The price indicator of the Bosch company is slightly lower, in contrast to the opponent's company.

Here are three main points that distinguish these models from each other: it’s up to you to decide whether Kirzhach or Bosch is better.

Headlight unit on VAZ 2110: what kind of lamps are in them?

Headlights VAZ 2110

Professional installation of headlights on a VAZ 2110 will cost at least 3 thousand rubles. This does not include the purchase of the optics itself. Is it possible to do the work yourself? Of course.

But first you need to determine which headlights will be installed on your VAZ 2110.

Suggested options

Not all motorists know which headlight unit is provided on the VAZ 2110. But in fact, there are 2 options:

  • Domestic Kirzhach headlights for VAZ 2110;
  • Foreign Bosch headlights for VAZ 2110 (manufacturer - Germany).

What to choose?

It would seem that we are talking about German quality products, which by definition should be better than their domestic counterpart. But in reality things are somewhat different.

Let's look at the key features of Kirzhach and Bosch headlights to determine which ones you should choose for your VAZ 2110 model.

The purpose of any low beam is to provide good visibility of the roadway at night, while at the same time avoiding dazzling oncoming traffic. Headlights from German and domestic manufacturers cope equally well with these functions. The headlights from Kirzhach have a low beam lens, and a reflector is provided for the high beam. German products have two reflectors - for low beam and high beam. The lighting is ultimately the same, but Bosch has better brightness. Lenses are actually better than reflectors. They create a clearer line of light and allow the installation of xenon optics. As a study of reviews of VAZ 2110 owners using German devices shows, they are characterized by worse illumination in low beam mode. Bosch headlights have a very important plus for many - when driving a car in cloudy and rainy weather, they provide a better quality glow compared to Kirzhach devices

It's all about the larger surface of the low beam reflector. This Bosch plus also comes with a minus - you are deprived of the opportunity to install xenon optics. Note that, regardless of the manufacturer, these headlights contain H1 format lamps. If we take into account all other characteristics, then the undisputed leader here will be the products of the domestic manufacturer.

It is noteworthy that this is one of the few exceptions when domestic products turned out to be better than foreign ones. Sad but true.

The problem with new headlights

It happens that after installing new headlights, purchased for a lot of money from a reliable, excellent manufacturer, the quality of the glow leaves much to be desired.

Inexperienced drivers attribute everything to a defect or the purchase of a fake disguised as a trusted company. But in reality everything is completely different.

Headlights shine efficiently and efficiently not only depending on the manufacturer. Settings that some people don’t know about or simply forget play a big role.

Alas, the VAZ 2110 is not a modern, advanced car in which the headlights are automatically adjusted electronically. Here everything has to be done manually.

In general, it’s almost a year since the ala Bosch headlights were installed; they can’t be compared with the Kirzhachs, at all. It's chic in winter, even in a snowstorm)

The Prior has different headlights. Although the Kirzhach is cloudy, it shines noticeably brighter than the Bosch. But the Bosch has a slightly wider grip. But I think this grip is just adjusting the headlights to the right one. And in terms of light brightness, the Kirzhach is clearly a little better.

According to the video, Bosch is 2 times brighter

It turns out that with a lens it’s only Kirzhach, but without it it’s only Bosch?

By the way, I installed xenon on Kirzhach - ecstasy did not happen.

I had a ten 2006 with Bosch headlights, the light was a bomb, I sold it. I bought a Sang Yong Aktion Sport, a light bomb. I got a cheap ten 2007 with 27 thousand mileage but it was worn out, the headlights were Kirzhach but they were broken, I bought new Kirzhach, and that’s when I found out how it is, the light is shit, now I’m selling Kirzhach and buying a Bosch .And everything else, THANK GOD, is good

Guys, if you don’t do anything with the Kirzhach, then God is certainly better, but I installed bi-xenon lenses and xenon in the Kirzhach. I haven’t seen better light, I had both a Bosch and a Kirzhach. I advise everyone to do the same.

and become a pedestrian for six months...

After reading the comments, I understand that the original Bosch is the best option?)

Here is a good material about these 2 types of headlights www.luxvaz.ru/vaz-2110/112-fary.html

I actually had a Bosch, a regular headlight with reflectors. But I would like Kirzhach because You can install xenon there, and I would only go with it. Without xenon, Kirzhach is a dull city.

did you watch this nonsense? compare 2 headlights with different bulbs. Of course, if you insert normal lamps into one, and some kind of crap into the other...

Yes, this is just an advertisement for Kirzhach))))

Good evening! Can I have a photo of how the headlights are?

That week I also had to face this problem “Bosch” or “Kirzhach.” After reading on the Internet and comparing the facts (a friend’s Bosch costs 10k) I brought the guys to the conclusion of buying a Bosch and not bothering with lenses and other nonsense. And I’ll say You DID NOT MISS in combination with PTF finally GOOD! Kirzhach not converted and without xenon (in stock) is an ASS.

Greetings! Please tell me. result if changed? Which is better, Bosch or Kirzhach? My relatives have Kirzhach on 10k, I’m not happy with the light ((. I’m thinking, is it worth remodeling it or not bothering to buy a Bosch? Thanks in advance...

Clean the lens, set the Philips to +100% brightness but not more than 55 watts. I liked Kirzhach better, to be honest

Question from this guy: I want to try to install 100-watt lamps on the far one! I wonder what the outcome will be? Will the wiring burn out or will the mirror melt? Do I need to install a more powerful predak? Who has any thoughts?

put it on, everything will burn = DDD

Bosch is better, but if you install a Kirzhach, it needs to be modified, firstly, throw out the shitty lenses and install others, I installed a Skoda Octavia + eyes from a foreign car, bomb, but I installed another lens instead of a high beam reflector, but this can also be done on a Bosch headlight do. In general, if it’s stock, the Bosch shines better

At first glance, it is not clear that these headlights are completely different, but if you are faced with the need to replace any of the headlights, you run the risk of purchasing a model that is completely unsuitable and will differ from the second headlight.

BOSCH or Kirzhach

Difference between Bosch and Kirzhach headlights:

  • To replace the light bulb in the main lighting, you need to disconnect the black circle-shaped housing under the hood on the Bosch headlight. In the Kirzhach headlight, the casing is rectangular and secured with two screws.
  • The headlights differ in the glass pattern; in addition, each of them has a manufacturer's mark. The Bosch package includes a glass frame; replacing it does not require complete disassembly of the headlight.
  • There are also differences in the mounting of the turn signals. The Kirzhach turn signal is equipped with two fasteners, has a central latch and a spring tensioner. The Bosch turn signal is also equipped with two fasteners and a spring tensioner, but does not have a latch. This indicates that the turn signal from one company cannot be replaced with a model from another company; interchangeability is completely excluded.
  • The reflector also has significant differences. The Kirzhach company has a narrow and long reflector with an internal partition that divides the light beam in half. Moreover, there is no upper wall in the reflector. The Boshevsky reflector is shorter and wider in shape; all walls of the model are equipped with it.

Considering the more balanced and high-quality Bosch reflector, the light of the model is brighter and more saturated, unlike the opponent’s model. Also, to achieve a greater effect, it is possible to replace the lamp with a better one, and it is necessary to carry out an adjustment procedure.

Original headlights for VAZ-2110

S, 2111 and 2112 were equipped with head optics from two manufacturers:

  • Bosch (Ryazan)
    - classic design with separate high and low beam lamps. Provides uniform bright illumination. To change the glass, just unfasten the 4 latches. The best option possible.
  • Avtosvet (Kirzhach)
    - the design of the low beam is made in a modern lensed version, the high beam is reflective. The glass is glued with sealant. It feels like the beam is more directed and dim than that of the “Russified German.”

The products of these factories are equipped with a corrector and have adjustment in two planes. Lamps H1, H3 are used. If a stone gets in, it is possible to replace only the glass (sold separately). The turn signal is made as a separate element, which reduces the cost of repairs in case of a minor accident.

Attention! Bosch and Avtosvet direction indicators are not interchangeable. When installing headlights from another manufacturer, you will also have to spend money on turn signals.

INDEPENDENT CHANGE OF HEADLIGHTS

Some drivers, based on their experience, consider it right to make certain upgrades even after installing new components. Modifying headlights yourself is quite a tricky business, but with the right approach you can always achieve results. In terms of tuning, the platform from Kirzhach is more universal and allows you to successfully and confidently expand the working space for the light beam and carry out other manipulations. If you had the headlights installed at a service center, but decided to finish something yourself, then you need to remove them first. It's quite simple:

  1. First we disconnect the glass, this must be done carefully so as not to damage it. It is mounted on a sealant and it will be difficult to remove it, but no force should be applied.
  2. We remove the reflector cover; to do this you will need to remove several mounting bolts.
  3. We inspect the modules and select the one we need for modification.

It is necessary to secure the lens itself carefully so that it is not even noticeable that any changes have been made. However, if the lens drifts significantly, it may happen that it will overheat, so it is advisable to make all upgrades in the range of no more than 10 mm, and based on this, choose the width of the light beam.

CURTAIN CHANGES

If the owner is dissatisfied with the position of the curtain, then it can be moved. But first you need to make the correct blank and only then make the metal original, and as carefully as you can. You need to try to make the surface as smooth as possible. The finished version of the curtain needs to be attached only to the reflector and nothing else, and then assemble everything in the reverse order and only then watch how the finished beam is focused and what comes out of it.

Improving the light "tens"

Of all the kits tested in road conditions, the Bosch light seemed brighter and more uniform to all participants in the experiment. Therefore, when replacing headlights during body repairs, it makes sense to remember the comfort of movement at night.

To improve illumination using available methods, we will need:

Bosch direction indicators (right and left).

Lamps H3 and H1 - 2 pcs.

Fog lights are more susceptible to abrasive wear and cracks in the glass from encountering snowdrifts. Therefore, it is advisable to supplement the list with new “PTFs”.

If your car does not have fog lights, we will correct this deficiency. In addition to the list above, we purchase:

  • fog lights - 2 pieces (right and left - identical);
  • front PTF power indicator (green);
  • fog switch;
  • Wiring kit for fog lights, including harness, relay and fuse.

At the end of the work, we adjust the lighting devices (don’t forget about PTF), and enjoy the “correct” light. As a result, we obtain uniform illumination of the roadway at a relatively low cost. Moreover, without violations of GOST standards and problems with passing technical inspection.

We wish our readers good visibility and smooth roads.

Headlight "Bosch"

This model is quite popular as a sample for the manufacture of a number of Chinese counterfeits of varying levels of quality. A manufacturer with a purely German name (Bosch) supplies the domestic market with products that meet all modern quality standards, and this slightly sets it apart from its main competitors (at least in terms of price).

Experts note that when installing this type of headlights, the correct setting is of great importance, so if you do not have the appropriate skills in installing car optics, then it is best to entrust the setting and adjustment of the front optics after replacement to specialists. Only in this case can you get a satisfactory result

TYPICAL DIFFERENCES

If you pick up two headlights for the same car, but from different manufacturers, then few people will be able to notice the difference. Only if the manufacturer is written on them in capital letters. But if it is not written, then there is always a risk of acquiring some kind of fake. However, even the originals may differ in various nuances. Here are the main differences in operation of the options we are considering today:

  • The difference between the reflectors is immediately noticeable. Kirzhach has a more elongated shape, and the light beam is deliberately divided in half by a special partition; the upper casing is completely absent. The Bosch reflector is wider in shape and the beam is completely uniform.
  • Since on the VAZ 2114 the turn signal and the headlight are located in a single housing, companies have taken different approaches to its mounting. In Kirzhach, the yellow segment is attached to two ties, and between them there is a special latch. While the Bosch does not have a latch, here everything is held in place by a spring tensioner. Unfortunately, this option had a bad effect on unification: replacing the turn signal from one model with another will not work.
  • The texture of the glass and the material are strikingly different, despite the fact that both options are of quite high quality.
  • Another difference lies in the methods of replacing the light bulb: with Kirzhach you need to unscrew the casing, since it is on screws, but with Bosch you just need to remove it, it is round.

In terms of prices, everything is quite ambiguous. A Bosch model for the VAZ 2114-13-15 series of cars costs about 3,000 rubles. While the model from Kirzhach is somewhat cheaper, about 2000 rubles, it is advisable to immediately replace the lamps with better ones and set them up correctly. Based on this, it is quite difficult to say which headlights are better for the VAZ 2114 Kirzhach or Bosch. But it’s better to adjust any headlights after installation, in general, on any car.

Hydrocorrector of headlights for VAZ 2114

The use of an electric headlight corrector on a VAZ 2114 is possible, although a hydrocorrector performs quite similar functions there.

It's no secret that, depending on how loaded the car is, the ground clearance changes somewhat. Because of this, the position of the headlight level changes. If you are driving on a highway or highway, violating the correct level of glow can lead to dire consequences for oncoming traffic. After all, if the light is higher than the required level, it will simply start shining oncoming drivers directly in the eyes, disturbing and distracting them from the road.

The hydraulic corrector serves to change this angle depending on changes in the vehicle's suspension.

It adapts to the current state of the car and brings the headlights to the required level of illumination. The design of the hydraulic corrector consists of cylinders interconnected by tubes. The main cylinder is mounted on the dashboard inside the cabin, and all the others are mounted in the headlight unit.

Antifreeze circulates through the pipes. This prevents it from freezing during the cold season. The entire system is hermetically sealed, so no air enters. Alas, it will not be possible to replace individual structural elements, so a failed hydraulic corrector will have to be replaced completely.

Let's sum it up

So, we figured out the pricing policy, design and modernization of headlights for VAZ 2113 cars and their series. Let's summarize so that everyone can consciously make a choice which headlights are better for the VAZ 2114:

  • The components from Kirzhach are a little simpler in their technical design and are easier to modify with your own hands using any of the specified methods and actions. However, not everyone wants to do manual modifications, even if they help change the car for the better. Therefore, for some, a more expensive option will be a godsend, which you just need to install and do nothing else.
  • Bosch headlights are brighter, and the light is a more saturated beam.
  • In terms of prices, Kirzhach turned out to be a little cheaper with relatively good performance and can easily compete with its opponent.

Headlights are an important element of every car. Especially when it comes to moving in the evening and at night. Today we offer magnificent xenon for the VAZ 2114, as well as a number of other attractive options. Although some opt for conventional factory devices, and they simply need to adjust the headlights of the VAZ 2114.

Which fog lights are better for the VAZ-2110

Outwardly, you may not notice much difference between high-quality headlights and “analogs” of unknown origin.

Making the right choice in this case is very difficult, since a huge number of headlights have appeared on sale, different in shape, light source and color spectrum.

It is also important what material the diffuser is made of - glass or polycarbonate. Since PTFs are installed low, puny plastic cases do not last long

And if we take into account that in the rain we will often have to wipe the diffuser with improvised means, then the low-quality material will rub off and all the work of the lamps will go down the drain.

On the glass: the center of the headlight and the type of lamp.

Wires in a protective tube.

Strong mustache and lamp screen.

Adjustment screw with fine thread and spring.

Regular and similar PTFs

Rectangular fog lights with standard mounts fit into the VAZ-2110 bumper in a standard place without additional modifications. They are produced by a lot of manufacturers, but, again, all these headlights are different both in the quality of the optics and in the light source.

  1. The most common are two types of domestically produced PTFs OSVAR and headlights from the Avtosvet plant from Kirzhach. The latter have two modifications - for a lamp with H3 and H1 sockets. According to user reviews, headlights with H1 lamps provide a denser and more concentrated luminous flux over the entire illumination range. Their price is about 900 rubles apiece. But they are sold without a lamp.

Fog lamp Kirzhach.

Domestic headlights - OSVAR 2212.3743-04. They are assembled rather roughly and this spoils the appearance. The lampshade is non-removable and is glued in with sealant, which if damaged will affect the cost of replacement. However, with a price of about 700 rubles (with a lamp), they look pretty decent. The illumination is even, but if installed correctly, the near zone is illuminated worse.

Another relatively domestic manufacturer is the Ryazan plant Bosch

The headlights are designed for H3 lamps, the light doesn’t matter, but they also cost about 650 rubles. The most budget option for infrequent use

They are sold without a lamp.

PTF from Ryazan Bosch.

Stories from our readers

“Fucking basin. “

Hi all! My name is Mikhail, now I’ll tell you a story about how I managed to exchange my two-wheeler for a 2010 Camry. It all started with the fact that I began to be wildly irritated by the breakdowns of the two-wheeler, it seemed like nothing serious was broken, but damn it, there were so many little things that really started to irritate me. This is where the idea arose that it was time to change the car to a foreign car. The choice fell on the melting Camry of the tenth years.

Yes, I had matured morally, but financially I just couldn’t handle it. I’ll say right away that I am against loans and taking a car, especially not a new one, on credit is unreasonable. My salary is 24k a month, so collecting 600-700 thousand is almost impossible for me. I started looking for different ways to make money on the Internet. You can’t imagine how many scams there are, what I haven’t tried: sports betting, network marketing, and even the volcano casino, where I successfully lost about 10 thousand ((The only direction in which it seemed to me that I could make money was currency trading on the stock exchange, they call it Forex. But when I started delving into it, I realized that it was very difficult for me. I continued to dig further and came across binary options. The essence is the same as in Forex, but it’s much easier to understand. I started reading forums, studying trading strategies. I tried it on a demo account, then opened a real account. To be honest, I didn’t manage to start earning money right away, until I understood all the mechanics of options, I lost about 3,000 rubles, but as it turned out, it was a precious experience. Now I earn 5-7 thousand rubles a day. I managed to get the car buy after half a year, but in my opinion this is a good result, and it’s not about the car, my life has changed, I naturally quit my job, I have more free time for myself and my family. You’ll laugh, but I work directly on the phone)) If If you want to change your life like me, then here’s what I advise you to do right now: 1. Register on the site 2. Practice on a Demo account (it’s free). 3. As soon as you get something on the Demo account, top up your REAL ACCOUNT and go to REAL MONEY! How to replace the PTF or the light bulb in the PTF on a VAZ 2110? You can use this instruction.

What is the difference between PTF? The difference is in the quality and shape of the light beam, which as a result, according to the rules, must comply with GOST. In addition, there are differences in the quality of the headlights. Because PTFs are close to the ground, then all the gravel, sand and dirt fall straight into them. How long they will serve you depends on the quality of manufacture of the case, glass and the tightness of the case.

How to choose the right fog lights for a VAZ 2110? A very large number of low-quality PTFs (counterfeits) are sold for Russian cars. You can identify a fake PTF by the quality of the light. For high-quality fog lights, the beam of light should have a sharp upper edge and generally resemble a horizontal line. When using fake headlights, you will immediately notice the difference; in addition, they will blind oncoming drivers. You can identify the original by the quality of the headlight assembly, as well as by the presence of the emblem on the PTF glass.

Before purchasing, you can use several PTF reviews (one, two, three), rely on the survey results or comments.

A small test of fog lights: All photos are taken from this forum. Of course, this is not a professional review, but just pictures from forum users. In one case, the PTFs are not adjusted correctly, in another, the headlights shine on snow and seem brighter than on black asphalt. Also, different types of lamps can be used in PTFs, so it’s hard to determine which PTFs shine better, judge for yourself:

PTF Bosch (Bosch) VAZ 2110

PTF Kirzhach (Avtosvet) VAZ 2110 (instructions)

PTF Priora Kirzhach (installation on VAZ 2110)

PTF Sirius NS-199 (white high-range + PTF yellow)

PTF Hella Comet 450 (installation of Hella fog lights)

PTF Hella FF 50

PTF Hella FF 75

So, let’s vote and leave reviews about the PTF for the VAZ 2110-12 :

Which fog lights are better to choose for the VAZ 2110-12?

What lamps are best used in PTF VAZ 2110-12?

Fog lights

When thinking about installing headlights, do not forget about foglights. If the eyelashes on the headlights of the VAZ 2114 play a more decorative role, then in our conditions and even with our automobile legislation, driving without fog lights is at least not safe.

Manufacturers of headlights did not come up with any special features for them, so they were not included in the general headlight block of the VAZ 2114. Consequently, they will have to be mounted on the bumper, separately from the main road lighting system.

The peculiarity of fog lights on a car is that their beam has a flat and wide form of illumination, and allows it to break through snow and fog, providing high-quality illumination of the roadway. Conventional headlights cannot cope with this because they literally crash into the wall of light. This is the process of reflecting light from snow or a fog curtain.

VAZ 2114 cars are equipped with front fog lights from the factory, but their quality is not always at a decent level. Plus outwardly I would like more. Therefore, when replacing headlights, we advise you to also think about installing more efficient and effective fog lights.

Adjusting the lights

Properly adjusted headlights are the key to safe driving at night. Good road lighting helps you avoid an obstacle, a pothole, or an open hatch in time, notice a pedestrian in a timely manner, and avoid a collision with a vehicle parked incorrectly on the side of the road. Factory adjustment minimizes the harm caused by bright lights to oncoming drivers. After replacing lighting fixtures or body repairs, situations arise when they need to be adjusted. If you have the tools and a suitable place, it is not difficult to do it yourself. For adjustment you will need:

  • flat surface (opposite a wall, garage or gate);
  • five-meter tape measure;
  • a sheet of thick paper that does not allow light to pass through;
  • hex wrench.

A diagram is drawn on a vertical surface that acts as a screen. At the level of the center of the headlights, draw a horizontal line. We lay the parallel line 65 mm lower. We apply vertical marks opposite the centers of the right and left lamps, as well as in the middle, at an equal distance from them. We bring the car into equipped condition (there is no excess cargo, the tank is filled). We bring the tire pressure level to the nominal value. Further:

  1. We place the car 5 meters from the screen, the centers of the headlights are located opposite the corresponding vertical marks.
  2. We set the electric corrector drive for the lights to “0”, which corresponds to the minimum vehicle load.
  3. We load the driver's seat with a load of 75 kg and rock the car to install the suspension.
  4. Open the hood, turn on the low beam, and use paper to block the light from the right light fixture.
  5. Using the left headlight adjustment screw, using a hex wrench, adjust the horizontal border of the light to the bottom mark.
  6. We bring the bend of the light border to a vertical mark corresponding to the center of the lantern.
  7. We set the right headlight in the same way.

This completes the adjustment process.

Replacing the headlight

If the condition of the old headlights leaves much to be desired, or you just want to add something new to the appearance of your car, then replacing the headlights with a VAZ 2114 can be an excellent solution.

It is not necessary to do this at a service station. Many car owners do similar things in the garage, without unnecessary help or financial costs. You won’t have to spend a lot of time on this, but very soon your iron horse will acquire new, bright optical instruments.

  1. First, let's figure out how to remove the headlight on a VAZ 2114. First you need to remove the front grille and also remove the rear trim.
  2. Now the cover glasses are removed and the VAZ 2114 headlight hydraulic corrector cylinders are removed.
  3. The windshield wiper reservoir can also be removed so that it does not interfere with the work process.
  4. Disconnect the terminals from the battery contacts.
  5. Disconnect the power wires from the headlights.
  6. Using a regular Phillips screwdriver, the headlight housing is removed. It is held on to the body by a screw.
  7. From the engine compartment side, unscrew three more nuts that hold the headlight housing.
  8. Now all the fasteners have been removed, which allows you to simply pull the old headlight towards you and thereby remove it.
  9. Now unlock the special latches on the headlights and remove the protective glass.
  10. Installation of the new kit is carried out in reverse order. There shouldn't be any difficulties.

It is important to check the condition of the elements of the head lighting system. You may need to replace the headlight glass on a VAZ 2114, or a complete replacement of the entire unit

It depends directly on what exactly you are striving for.

Choosing the best headlights between Kirzhach or Bosch

Unfortunately, AvtoVAZ designers did not provide our cars with high-quality headlights, but rather, on the contrary, worsened them. Even the predecessor 9 had much better headlights than the 2114. Therefore, the issue of choosing headlights is acute for every SAMARA-2 owner.

The auto parts market offers us headlights from Bosch and Kirzhach. True, there are also Hella optics on sale, but this is a different story and a different price category, so in this article we will consider and compare only Bosch and Kirzhach.

What is the difference between Bosch and Kirzhach?

It will be difficult for an ignorant person to distinguish Bosch from Kerzhik, so let's look at this situation in detail.

The first noticeable difference can be found when we open the hood and try to replace the headlight bulb. To gain access to replacing the lamp, on a Bosch headlight we need to unscrew the round black casing. On the Kirzhach headlight, this casing already has a rectangular shape and is held on by two screw fasteners. This difference is clearly presented in the pictures (Bosch on the right, Kirzhach on the left).

The next visible difference is in the headlight glass design itself.

In addition to a different pattern, each headlight has a manufacturer's logo. The Bosch headlight also includes a frame for the headlight glass, which can be seen without disassembling the headlight.

The mounts for turn signals also differ: on a Kirzhach headlight, the turn signal has two mounts, a central latch and a spring tensioner. Boshev turn signals also have two fasteners and a tensioner, but the latch is no longer present.

From this it follows that turn signals from different manufacturers are not interchangeable.

But perhaps the most basic and most important difference between headlights lies in the design of the reflector. Kirzhach has a narrow and long reflector, inside of which there is a partition that divides the light beam into 2 parts. Another important difference is the absence of the upper wall of the Kirzhach headlight reflector. The Boshevsky reflector, unlike the Kirzhach one, has a wider and shorter reflector, and all four walls of the reflector are also present.

Which headlight shines better?

Having analyzed the main differences and structure of the headlight, we came to the following conclusion - thanks to a more balanced and high-quality Bosch reflector, the light beam of the Bosch headlight is much brighter and more saturated than its competitor. Our point of view is supported by the majority of samarodists, therefore, if you decide to replace the headlight, then install Bosch and you will not regret it. In order to get more effect from the headlight, it is recommended to replace the lamps with better ones and adjust the beam. More about this in the articles: How to replace a lamp in a headlight? TAU tech › Blog › Educational article. How to distinguish Kirzhach from Bosch on Lada Kalina.

Good morning to my subscribers and random blog guests. This educational article is devoted to how to externally distinguish Bosch from Kirzhach on Kalina without opening the hood and looking for markings. In a couple of seconds I can distinguish these headlights. And so, there are 4 main points for inspection:

1. The location of the headlight reflector relative to the headlight mask

On Kirzhach (aka Avtosvet), the reflector is recessed inside behind the mask. This, by the way, is very beneficial when installing bi-lenses. On Bosch (Automotive Lighting) the reflector protrudes forward beyond the mask. To me it doesn’t look very nice, but this is the whim of the manufacturer.

2. Partition between the turn signal and the main part of the headlight

On the Kirzhach side of the turn signal, this partition is vertically rounded and has a smoother shape. On Bosch this partition is almost straight.

3. Low beam reflector

In Kirzhach this reflector is distinctly oval. Bosch has this reflector that is almost round.

4. High beam reflector

Visual memory matters here, because... outwardly they are quite similar. On Kirzhach, this reflector is visually more similar to a pear. On Bosch, the resemblance to this fruit is already less pronounced.

Features of Bosch Kalina headlights: The headlights of the first years of production have glass in the front instead of polycarbonate. In this series of headlights, the glass is held in grooves with latches. Thus, disassembling this headlight is as simple as possible. The following years of production have polycarbonate in the front part. It is held in the grooves with a non-fusible sealant. Fortunately, Bosch doesn’t make good headlights, so this sealant is an order of magnitude softer than the same sealant from Kirzhach.

Features of Kirzhach Kalina headlights. These headlights have been unchanged from the very beginning. The polycarbonate front is held in grooves with heavy-duty polyurethane sealant. This sealant is similar in density to winter tires. Disassembling these headlights is more difficult, but these headlights themselves are much better quality than Bosch. Firstly, they are less likely to fog up. Secondly, they don’t have terrible gaps between the headlight mask and the reflector.

We'll probably end here.

What common

In addition to the fact that both “Bosch” and “Kirzhach” serve one “great purpose” (illuminating the road surface and notifying other road users of the driver’s intention to make a turn), they have several common external features. Not every car enthusiast can distinguish a model from one manufacturer from another offhand, and the difference is sometimes revealed only upon closer examination.

By the way, many car owners believe that both optics models under consideration do not deserve attention, and any of them, after purchasing a car, should be replaced with a more advanced one, carefully adjusted, or at least modernized. The controversy of this statement remains in question.

Differences between Priors 2 headlights

The Priora 2 headlights differ from the usual ones mainly in the shape of the reflector and the quality of the optics used.

I took off the bumper, unscrewed the screws from the factory plastic plugs, screwed on the purchased headlights, it took a little time to install the Bosch, probably about an hour, and only because the screws standing on the round plastic plugs turned out to be short and I had to look for six longer pieces for reliable fastening of the foglights in the bumper. They could have included such a small thing in the headlight kit.

The headlights have an adjustable light beam, of course, after installing them on the car along with the bumper, I had to slightly adjust the light beam of the PTF lamps so that they would better illuminate the side of the road. They are equipped with Bosch H11 halogen lamps with a power of 55 W; they quite well complement the standard low-beam headlights on the sides of the car.

Roadsides have become much better visible at night, especially in the courtyards of high-rise buildings. Sometimes, you know, people suddenly go out onto the road, especially when there is mud or deep puddles on the sidewalks. Riding with the Boches has definitely become more comfortable and, most importantly, safer. By the way, I heard that Bosch’s glass will be thicker than Kirzhach’s, which means that they will have fewer cracks from water in puddles. The main function, illumination of roads in rain and fog, is performed well by these PTFs. I recommend them for purchase to Prior owners who do not have them in their configurations from the factory. Suitable for restyled Priors with SE bumper. They will definitely come in handy on the road, especially in winter. Can also be used as DRLs (daytime running lights).

Which headlights are better for the VAZ 2114. Many owners of the VAZ 2114 are extremely dissatisfied with the quality of work of the factory installed headlights. Accordingly, for many, the question of choice is very acute: which headlights are better for the VAZ 2114? Let's try to understand this issue in more detail.

Among the offers of the automotive market, there are two main competitors: Kirzhach headlights and Bosch headlights.

Other manufacturers and types of lamps

Of course, many are trying to install other types of light sources and other types of lamps. All headlights discussed above have a halogen lamp. That is, it is actually the same incandescent lamp, but its filament operates in a gas environment (bromine or iodine halogens).

There are also alternative fog lights.

Xenon PTF

Standard PTFs converted to xenon fog lights.

The old xenon PTFs worked on lamps D1 and D2, the new ones received lamps D3 and D4 without the use of mercury vapor. Theoretically, the efficiency of such fog lights and the luminous intensity are higher than those of halogen lights. However, do not forget about the specificity of PTF - not to cause reflection of the beam from the water suspension. And all inexpensive xenon headlights require very precise adjustment of the light beam and are not able to provide a low horizontal stripe to combat fog.

In addition, the maximum color temperature for the effectiveness of fog lights is 3000-4500 K, otherwise they will be of no use and blinding light will be provided for oncoming drivers. The prices of such foglights are not lower than 5-7 thousand (Hella Micro DE, for example). Anything cheaper is useless and even dangerous.

LED PTF

Intelligent LED PTFs are very expensive, and it makes no sense to buy cheap ones.

The main disadvantage of effective LED fog lights is their huge price and low efficiency.

The low efficiency is explained by the fact that a regular LED produces light that is bright and pleasant to the human eye with a temperature of about 6000 K. For head optics this is not bad, but not for PTF. However, there are exceptions. For example, Osram LEDriving FOG 101 headlights. A high-tech device with LEDs of a proprietary proprietary design with a color temperature of about 3000 K, which is just suitable for PTF.

Why film

The main reason is failure, failure to perform the direct functions of the device. There may be a lot of reasons for replacing the headlights on a Prior. Broken outer glass, loss of tightness, fogging of lenses from the inside, deterioration of the reflector itself, breakdown of fixing elements. Replacement, repair of old contacts, installation of a new type of light bulbs. To solve them, you will have to unscrew the entire module from the car body, which will make it more convenient to repair and modernize optical devices. The block is not completely dismountable: to separate the glass from the body, it is better to heat the joint with a hair dryer until the sealant softens. Next, remove the melted sealant as much as possible using improvised means. We try to separate the glass with a screwdriver, clean all the separated parts from the old glue with a knife and sandpaper. The glass is seated back onto the sealant.
