Is it exactly neutral for paintwork?

YES. Then to the car wash.

Hello. LK 5 places. For now there are only eco-covers, mats, SL93, tinting. After browsing the forums, I compiled a small list of purchases. Please criticize or recommend something else. A car for both work and family.

Total: 15290 rub.

Questions: – regarding the rear fender liners, there is something already installed from the factory on the rear part on the floor of the arch. Is it worth changing? – are mudguards really useful?

I'm blown away by the rear lights, whether it's necessary or not, I've seen it on live cars many times, both night and day, so far it seems somehow pretentious.

In general, I approach improvements purely from a practical point of view, not aesthetics.

Thanks in advance for healthy criticism.

The rear parking sensors are very helpful! Be sure to glue the glass washer reservoir (it wipes the body), put a door seal from VAZ under the hood. The engine will be clean. An armrest will also not be superfluous. And later change the 5th gear in the box and you will be happy.

Added a new message 14-10-2016 at 12:25:35 : I installed a homemade heater deflector (the drawing is on the forum) - my feet felt warmer in the cold. 5th gear was set to 0.795 engine, I have 105 mares, 16 valves and it became much more comfortable!

1. Key case for Lada Largus Renault Logan Sandero Duster=80 – pampering, but if you really want it, take it.

2. Discount card NLK = 200 - take it, it will come in handy

3. Carpet overlays “Tunnel” Lada Largus Renault Duster Logan – installed, use 5+

4. Covers for the carpet in the trunk for the Lada Largus - after all, a lot of plastic is not very good and will get scratched quickly

5. Front mudguards for Lada Largus, for me, the standard ones are quite enough

6. Rear mudguards for Lada Largus Cross=950 – a necessary thing

7. Protective mesh for the radiator grille of Lada Largus (bottom black strelka) take it, you won’t regret it

8. Carpet covers Osnova in Lada Largus (for the interior with pockets for 5 seats “Osnova”) - I don’t know, I haven’t used it.

9. The protective mesh for the Lada Largus radiator grille (black strelka top) can be omitted

10. Rear fender liner with sound insulation for Lada Largus (pieces) (Right fender liner with sound insulation Nls.52.26.004) = 780

11. Rear fender liner with sound insulation for Lada Largus (pieces) (Left fender liner with sound insulation NLS.52.26.003) = 780 I would have installed it for myself, but that’s something I can’t get my hands on

12. Overhead deflectors for Lada Largus windows (Cobra wide Eurostandard) are beautiful and practical.

13. Air duct mesh filter for Lada Largus = not practical, you can solve the problem this way

I swept it away with a brush and forgot the regular mosquito net, glued it with super glue, and it still holds.

14. Heater deflector “Warm feet” for Lada Largus = I haven’t used it and it’s so warm.

Let me draw your attention to such extras as: the hood gas stop.

For comfortable operation of the Lada Largus car, manufacturers strive to equip their cars with various auxiliary devices and accessories. Among such products are mud flaps, the main purpose of which is to minimize the spread of dirt and other road “artifacts” that quickly fly out from under the rotating wheels of a moving car.

In our material we will try to comprehensively cover all the features of such useful products as mud flaps for the Lada Largus car, determine the degree of their need, and also consider tuning options and what it means to install them on a car.

Purpose and design features

In any car, mud flaps are attached to the fender liners and are designed to protect body panels from the “flight” of dirt and debris that are thrown out by rotating wheels. Manufacturers have provided their own mudguard for each wheel. In Lada Largus, these accessories in most versions are made of plastic or rubber. However, today you can find combined versions of mud flaps in the sales network.

Despite the material used for manufacturing, we note that these front and rear products, respectively, perceive increased loads. This is partly explained by the direct functional purpose of the accessories, which can be classified as:

  • ensuring reliable protection of Lada Largus body components from damage caused by abrasive fractions flying from under the wheels;
  • preventing the risk of developing corrosion foci that appear on the lower metal elements of the Lada Largus body;
  • eliminating the formation of ice on rapids during the winter season.

If you take a closer look, mud flaps allow the owner to avoid or minimize the need for body repairs caused by the development of corrosion. This is especially true for the cross-country version of the Lada Largus Cross, which is used more than other modifications to overcome rough terrain.

Important! The use of mud flaps allows the owner to save considerable financial resources that could be wasted on body repairs. This fact is confirmed by the majority of owners of this popular universal model.

Installation of mudguards

Those owners who purchased a Lada Largus Cross from a dealer know for certain that the seller offers to purchase a car with initially installed mudguards. This feature is positioned as a separate option and requires additional payment. Therefore, there are often cases when the station wagon we are considering is sold without these useful accessories. If mud flaps become damaged over time, then replacing them as soon as possible becomes a very important undertaking, which is explained by their functionality.

Many owners are concerned about the possibility of independently installing accessories on the Lada Largus Cross. It is important to install mudguards both front and rear. Let’s say right away that the procedure is quite simple and, if you have the desire and the tools, is quite feasible on your own without the need to visit a workshop.

The following tools and materials will be needed:

  • Phillips screwdrivers, regular wrenches, assorted;
  • knife;
  • drill with a set of drills designed for plastic and rubber;
  • self-tapping screws up to 20 mm long and washers for them;
  • plastic plugs and accessories themselves.

Now you can move on to the algorithm of actions, the result of which will be mudguards installed on the Cross, both front and rear.

  1. To ensure convenience, we place the car on a level area and securely stop it from rolling.
  2. We dismantle the wheel from the side where the mudguard is supposed to be replaced.
  3. If there is an old accessory at the installation site, then we mercilessly remove it by unscrewing the fasteners and removing the entire list of plugs.
  4. Now thoroughly wash and dry the area to install the new component.
  5. The installation procedure itself starts by adjusting the mudguard to its dimensions. For this purpose, we apply the element itself to the future seat and, using a marker, mark the points where the future fastening components are located. Now at these points we carefully drill holes intended for the subsequent screwing in of self-tapping screws.
  6. If all the specified fitting procedures are performed correctly, then installing the mudguard will not cause any difficulties. At this point, it is time to use the previously prepared screws in combination with the plugs. Note that it is the plugs that can provide additional protection against the penetration of merciless corrosion.
  7. Having installed the element for one wheel, we perform similar installation steps for the remaining arches.

Important! After direct replacement, we recommend driving a few hundred meters to make sure there are no defects (friction of the mudguard on the wheel, dirt and abrasive getting on the body panels, etc.) that the installation procedure itself can inadvertently provoke.

If any are present, then the above installation operation will need to be repeated, especially since the accumulated experience will allow this to be completed faster.

Tuning

Here we can outline the main directions in the modernization of products, which will be aimed at further increasing the effective protection of body components.

The following aspects can be highlighted as optimal measures in terms of tuning:

  • the use of anti-gravel or anti-corrosion components for surface treatment of accessories;
  • painting of products;
  • installation of LED sources on the outer edges of mudguards;
  • integration onto the surface of elements of all kinds of logos (images).

When improving the mudguards on your Largus model, remember the primary purpose of the accessories and do not be inclined to take actions that may lead to a decrease in their functional potential.

Should I buy a used Lada Largus?

"Largus" is not intended for beauty, comfort, dynamic and fast driving. Although the suspension has been adapted to Russian bad roads, the car’s handling is average. The car rolls in turns, but the car tries its best to maintain its trajectory. This is a roomy and reliable workhorse.

The dilemma of choice will be what year of car to choose. French engines last longer, but are not pleased with fuel consumption and poor gearbox settings. Russian engines break down more often, but are slightly more economical and do not have problems with the gearbox. New models may be in collateral, old ones may have incorrect mileage.

Here's an example. The new Largus 2022 with a mileage of only 3.5 thousand km. A dream is not a car:

Let's sum it up

Buy only high-quality products that will allow you to forget about the need for frequent replacement for a long period. Remember the main purpose of these practical accessories and use our manual as instructions for action. Installing them is not at all difficult.

An overview of mudguards for Largus can be found in the following video:

Mud flaps on the Lada Largus are permanent elements of the car's design, however, most car owners still do not understand their direct purpose. Moreover, installing and tuning these aprons for many is an impossible procedure, although in fact this is not entirely true.

Car owners unanimously confirm that mud flaps are an integral part of the car

Mud flaps on the Lada Largus, as on most vehicles, look like shields attached behind the wheelbases and protect body parts from splashes. Most often they are made of plastic or rubber, although combined versions of these products are very common.

Installation procedure

As practice shows, this procedure itself is not complicated, so even a novice driver who wants to add or replace the above-mentioned protective elements can cope with it.

Preliminary preparation of instruments

First of all, you need to prepare the following set of tools, which may vary depending on the modifications of the Lada Largus:

  • Phillips screwdriver;
  • mudguards;
  • spanner;
  • knife or scissors;
  • drill with drills;
  • self-tapping screws, the length of which should not exceed 2 cm;
  • washers corresponding to the length of the screws;
  • plastic plugs.

Dismantling

At this stage, you should first remove the wheel over which you plan to install the apron. This is necessary so that you can reach the screws of the mudguard and the plastic screw at the bottom of the sill. They are unscrewed using a screwdriver, the plastic sleeve is pulled out and a plug is inserted into it. The old part is removed, and the area for future installation is cleared.

Installation

The shape of the new mudguard is adjusted to the old version - this is in case of replacement. If you didn’t have one before, then you should use standard sizes. Holes for fastening are drilled in the new part and it is screwed to a new location.

Checking and running

After installing and securing the protective parts, the wheel returns to its place. You can check the operation of the mudguards by driving on a sandy surface. There should be no rustle of sand on the lower part of the body from the side of the new thing.

An important nuance - to install the front mudguards, experts recommend turning the steering wheel first all the way to the left, and then to the right. This will protect the car not only while driving on a straight road, but also when turning.

From 2022, AvtoVAZ planned to serially install gas equipment for methane on Largus.

Tuning variations

Many owners of the above-mentioned vehicle complain about the poor appearance of many car parts. This applies not only to the front, but also to the rear mudguards of Largus. That is why they independently develop all sorts of tuning variations for such parts.

Meanwhile, they can be conditionally divided into 3 groups:

  • restoration or change of colors using heat-resistant film;
  • installation of LED lighting along the outer edge of protective aprons;
  • application of color logos or images.

In some cases, tuning can even combine all of these groups. For example, you can cut letters out of plastic, drill holes in them for LED lighting, and coat them with a special coloring compound. In this case, the aprons can be connected in relation to the fog lights. They will be clearly visible during the day and, of course, at night.

Other reviews

Against the background of the constant appearance of new cars on the world market, the Lada Vesta of the 2015 model year is not such a new product. However, it can still be considered the discovery of the Russian car market thanks to its very modern appearance and well-thought-out technical “stuffing”. The sedan's exterior was designed by ex-Mercedes-Benz and Volvo designer Steve Mattin, and was among the first people lucky enough to sit in it.

The raised cross-country hatchback Lada Xray, which AvtoVAZ dubbed a crossover for advertising purposes, is called by many the highest quality model of the domestic manufacturer, and there is indeed reason for this. Firstly, there is an abundance of high quality imported parts, and secondly, this car has decent ground clearance and a proprietary 1.8-liter engine.

Cars nowadays don't work on anything. There are even hydrogen ones that literally “live” on fuel cells. Water is, of course, good and incredibly environmentally friendly, but it is still painfully unpopular and expensive to implement. Is it compressed natural gas or, as it is also called, methane in a cylinder, like the new version of Lada Vesta CNG (Compressed Natural Gas)! A gas sedan is cheaper.

5- and 7-seater Lada Largus station wagons appeared on the Russian market in 2012, becoming a kind of continuation of the cheapest Renault Logan model, only under the auspices of a domestic manufacturer. As you might guess, the Logan-like Largus turned out to be the first Lada car built on the basis of the budget B0 platform, on the basis of which a number of Lada, Renault and Nissan models were designed.

The domestic auto industry never ceases to amaze. For example: when the Russian press first said that AvtoVAZ was preparing a “sports” version of the second Lada Kalina in a hatchback body, it was more difficult to get a new product for a test drive than another Bentley or Mercedes. Amazing, right? For VAZ people there is nothing special about this: not many significant new products are released after all.

What is a 3- or 5-door Lada 4×4 with the Urban prefix? Some kind of supernova Niva? In relation to an off-road passenger car from the glorious city of Togliatti, these words smack of piercing irony. New, of course - it’s been around for almost 40 years, of which 10 years the model has not been called Niva. But somehow I can’t seem to forget about my “maiden name”... So, what does “urban” promise?

It will not be a revelation to anyone that AvtoVAZ literally slept through the SUV boom. And one day they decided to somehow make up for this matter and in the summer of 2014 they presented to the general public the all-terrain all-terrain station wagon Lada Kalina Cross, built on the basis of Kalina 2. In order to become a “Cross”, the model had to survive not only external, but also internal, technical.

Conclusion

Of course, mud flaps do not directly affect the movement of the vehicle, but they are no less important than other protective parts. Considering this, the issues of their installation or tuning are not idle, but rather important.

As you know, big things start from small things, and the design of the car was no exception to this rule. Only a well-designed set of machine components can organize its trouble-free and comfortable use. To achieve such a goal, it is important to take into account not only the safety of the fundamental parts of the car’s structure, but also the smallest functional units. The latter fully includes such body elements as mudguards. In today’s material, our resource will cover in more detail the question about them, or more precisely, about what Lada Largus mudguards are, what they are needed for and how to modernize them.

Secondary market

However, the light did not converge on these machines - you can turn your attention to the secondary market. For 600–700 thousand rubles, it is possible to pick up a five-year-old Citroen C4 Grand Picasso with a mileage of about 100,000 km. This model features a stylish design and incredibly functional interior. So, there are four glove compartments on the front panel!

A striking feature of the Picasso is the windshield that extends far onto the roof.

The seats fold easily, allowing you to create a large, flat area in the cabin. And the equipment is what you need - most of the cars offered for sale have climate control, six airbags, and power accessories.

A striking feature of the Picasso is the windshield that extends far onto the roof.

The lion's share of cars on the market are equipped with a 1.6-liter 150-horsepower turbo engine and a robotic gearbox. Neither unit is highly reliable.

Few competitors can offer such a number of glove compartments.

It is better to pay attention to the version with a 1.6 diesel engine (109 hp), which in good hands lasts a long time. The Grand Picasso has one of the most spacious interiors in its class

The Grand Picasso has one of the most spacious interiors in its class.

The Mazda 5 minivan looks like an interesting option. Five-year-old models with a mileage of about 100,000 km cost 610–780 thousand rubles. A special feature of the “five” are sliding side doors, which add solidity to the car.

The main feature of Mazda is the elegant wave-shaped stampings on the sides. You look at it and it feels like a fresh sea breeze.

This design is convenient in tight parking lots, and the doorway is wider. The second row is comfortable for only two passengers - the seat in the middle is quite cramped. But in the third row you don’t feel particularly cramped.

Sliding doors open up an impressive opening, making it very convenient to enter.

The vast majority of “fives” are equipped with a 2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 144 hp, paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. In terms of reliability, there are no questions about Mazda - it rarely breaks down. We recommend.

The interior looks solid, but the quality of materials is not up to the level of European competitors.

Mud flaps: purpose and operation

Mud flaps on any car are a part that is attached to the fender liner or is part of it and protects the body from dirt flying out from under the wheels. Since any car has 4 wheels, it has the same number of mudguards. As a rule, Largus mud flaps are made of rubber or plastic, but their combined types are often found.

Regardless of the material of manufacture, these parts experience quite a heavy load during their operation. In many ways, this phenomenon is explained by the functional purpose of mud flaps, which is to perform a number of functions:

  • protection of the body from damage caused by dirt and other particles from under the wheels;
  • prevention of early corrosion processes of elements of the lower part of the body made of metal;
  • eliminating the possibility of icing of the rapids in winter.

In general, by installing mud flaps on Largus, any owner guarantees himself protection from early repairs of some body elements. This issue requires the greatest attention from owners of the cross-country version of the model, since it is this version that is often used in places with unfavorable road conditions.

Models[ | ]

Largus R90

The passenger station wagon is offered in 5- and 7-seater versions.

The trunk volume of the five-seater version of Largus is 560 liters. For a seven-seater car it is only 135 hp.

has solid back and side panels.

Largus Cross

Like the regular Largus, it is offered in 5 and 7-seater versions. In 2020, in honor of its 50th anniversary, AvtoVAZ introduced the Largus Cross Black Edition. It differs from the standard version in new black wheels, roof and side mirrors.

Largus CNG

A version of the car with LPG was launched into production in January 2019.

Installation of mudguards

Many car owners who bought a Lada Largus at a dealership know that dealers offer to purchase a car with mud flaps. However, this feature is a separate configuration option and is not available to everyone, as a result of which there are often cases of purchasing a model without these protective elements. If they are missing or worn out, it is extremely important to replace the parts, since they are very useful in functional terms.

Replacing or installing new front and rear mudguards on the Largus Cross and other model variations is not so difficult, so avoiding a trip to the service station is quite possible. To carry out the procedure you will need the following tool:

  • several Phillips screwdrivers;
  • spanners of different sizes;
  • knife;
  • drill with drills for plastic or rubber;
  • self-tapping screws, no more than 2 cm long, and washers for them;
  • plastic plugs for fastenings;
  • and the protective elements themselves.

Why it’s impossible to love the Lada Largus: the model’s disadvantages

To find out all the disadvantages of the Largus, we interviewed owners, studied user forums and, based on reviews, compiled a list of the car’s shortcomings.

Largus breeders have many questions regarding ergonomics. For example, the seat heating buttons are located in the “blind zone” next to the seat adjustment lever. For some reason, the joystick responsible for adjusting the side mirrors is located under the handbrake. The horn is hidden on the steering column lever. The electric windows were placed on the dashboard closer to the gearshift lever.

The interior is far from ideal: the materials used in the decoration are cheaper than the cheapest ones. The driver's seat and dashboard creaks from the factory.

The Largus salon is too ascetic. There is no heated windshield, steering wheel or rear seats, no modern multimedia, no good sound and no electronic assistants even in the options. Lada offers Largus buyers only heated front seats, an old radio, ABS and rear parking sensors.
