The spark plug ignites the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber at the end of the piston compression cycle, transferring engine power to the vehicle's transmission. Without spark plugs, a gasoline engine cannot operate. The idea of igniting the air-fuel mixture by means of a spark belongs to the German engineer Robert Bosch. It was implemented by him in 1902 using Karl Benz engines. Since then, the design of this device has remained virtually unchanged. Its main parts: central electrode – 1, insulator – 2, housing – 3, side electrode – 4, A – gap between the electrodes.
Schematic illustration of a spark plug.
Purpose and location of candles in Largus
Applying high voltage to the electrodes causes a spark and ignition of the fuel.
The design is quite simple, but the materials from which it is made have special requirements. The electrodes must be made of a heat-resistant alloy that conducts current well. It is important that the insulator has high dielectric characteristics along with increased heat resistance. The housing must have a minimum coefficient of thermal expansion, otherwise the spark plug cannot be removed. Devices for igniting the air-fuel mixture on all car models are located on the cylinder head. An important feature: when installing them, the central and side electrodes must be located directly in the combustion chamber. The formation of a spark occurs as a result of the supply of high voltage by a pulse transformer.
On K4M engines with a 16-valve gas distribution mechanism, this device is installed on each spark plug. This is in contrast to the 8-valve K7M engines, where there is only one ignition coil.
Replacing spark plugs on Lada Largus
As you know, without spark plugs it will be impossible to ignite the working mixture in the combustion chamber of a gasoline engine.
According to the manufacturer, spark plugs in a Lada Largus car should be changed every 30 thousand km. With moderate use, the service life can be much longer.
If you know how to determine the condition of a spark plug by its appearance (there is a certain technique), you can drive with them again and again.
However, if you do not have such knowledge (otherwise you would not have read this material), we advise you not to tempt fate and make the replacement in accordance with the recommendations. It will be much easier and calmer than the possibility of encountering such unpleasant phenomena as:
- Reduced motor power.
- Excessive load on the catalyst.
- High fuel consumption.
- Unstable operation while driving and idling (jerking).
- Detonation of the working mixture.
Lada Largus cars are equipped with K4M engines (16-valve manufactured by Renault), K7M (eight-valve version from the same company) or VAZ-11189 (manufactured by AvtoVAZ, 8 valves - the engine has been installed instead of the K7M since 2015).
For the Lada Largus AvtoVAZ with the K4M engine, the manufacturer recommends installing original spark plugs from Renault under number 7700500155.
If you were unable to get original spark plugs, spark plugs from the following manufacturers and models are suitable:
- EYQUEM RFC58LZ2E,
- SAGEM RFN58LZ,
- CHAMPION RC87YCL.
- BOSCH FR 7 LDC+ 0242235668 (price from 600 rub.).
- DENSO K20TT K20TT#4 (price from 550 RUR).
If your car has a Renault engine with 8 valves, then AvtoVAZ recommends installing the following original spark plugs: Renault 770050016. If you do not find such spark plugs on sale, the plant recommends replacing them with these: Motrio 224013682R (official analogue). If these are not available, RYCLC87 from Champion or well-proven products from the Denso or NGK brands are quite suitable.
For the domestic engine 11189 (8 valves), the manufacturer’s recommendations will be as follows:
- JSC "Robert Bosch Saratov" A17DVRM/A15DVRM.
- BERU 14R-7DU.
- CHAMPION RN9YC.
- DENSO W20EPR.
- BRISK LR15YC-1/LR17YC-1.
- BOSCH WR7DCX.
It is highly undesirable to insert candles from different manufacturers (if anyone offers you such an opportunity). Remember that spark plugs are replaced only as sets, because in this case the spark plug manufacturer provides absolutely similar performance characteristics for the entire set.
The material below will reflect the replacement of spark plugs for a 16-valve engine as a more labor-intensive procedure. On an 8-valve engine, this operation is performed slightly differently - we will indicate the differences separately.
So, let's say you bought the spark plugs that are suitable for your car and are ready to start replacing.
First of all, you will need to prepare the necessary devices and tools, namely:
- wrench head with a diameter of 8 mm (Torx);
- spark plug wrench diameter 16 with extension.
Remember that replacing spark plugs is carried out only when the engine is not warmed up. Next, the procedure for one candle will be shown - operations with the rest are carried out in exactly the same way.
First of all, you will need to remove the pads that are attached to the ignition coils. To do this, without applying excessive force, press the pawl located at the terminal, after which the bundle of wires from the coil will be disconnected.
Using a socket 8, you need to unscrew the screw that is responsible for fixing the ignition coil.
We take the coil by its tip and pull it out of the well, after which we put it to the side so that it does not interfere.
Then you need to unscrew the old spark plug. This is done using a spark plug wrench. You should twist it counterclockwise. We take out the old spark plug and remove it from the key. Be careful to prevent dirt from getting into the spark plug well from anywhere.
We take a new candle, place it in the spark plug key and carefully lower the key into the spark plug well.
You should tighten it clockwise, but be careful not to overdo it, otherwise you risk ruining the thread - if this happens, a very difficult and costly repair will follow, during which you, as you understand, will not be able to use the car. So if you feel resistance, remove the spark plug and clean the spark plug threads of any debris.
When you are sure that you have screwed the spark plug in properly, you can put the coil back, fix it with the 8-point head, and then connect the bundles of wires back to the coil.
At the end of the procedure, sit in the car and start the engine. Then apply the gas several times - during any such operations, the sound of the engine should be smooth, not triple or contain dips. If so, congratulations on your successful replacement.
The difference between replacing spark plugs for an 8-valve engine
To replace, you only need a 16 mm wrench. The 8-valve engine does not contain any pads. The design of the eight-valve engine is such that you don’t need to unscrew anything additional to access the spark plugs - the spark plugs are located on top of the engine and their high-voltage tails are clearly visible.
The step-by-step replacement operation will look like this (the description below will be for one candle - the procedures for the rest are performed similarly):
- remove the tip of the high-voltage wire;
- use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the spark plug (it is recommended to first blow out the spark plug well with compressed air to prevent dirt from getting in after unscrewing);
- screw in the new spark plug by hand (in extreme cases, this can be done with a wrench without a wrench to avoid possible stripping of the thread); If you feel that the twisting has stopped, do not be too lazy to unscrew the spark plug back, and then, having cleared it of dirt, screw it back.
- connect the end of the high-voltage tip back.
Phased replacement
Step one
Initially, it is necessary to remove the used parts from the power unit. If we take into account that modern spark plugs have a fairly long charge life, then they are replaced only as a result of irreversible failure. Although for the Lada Largus, as for most domestic vehicles, it is better to replace them every 30,000 km.
Step two
To prevent contamination of the cylinder walls, the removal site is cleaned in a certain way. For this purpose, compressed air can be used, which is blown under pressure to the future installation sites. If this is not possible, then the surface of the cylinders is simply wiped with alcohol.
Step three
To remove the spark plug from the engine, you must first turn it off. Here you should find the wire that is connected to the part to be removed. You cannot pull the wire, as this can damage it, so disconnection is carried out by pulling out its cap.
Step four
After disconnecting the wire, you should proceed to the direct removal of this part. To do this, you will need a socket wrench to unscrew the spark plug. It rotates counterclockwise. If this procedure takes place with force, then you should use a universal joint that changes the angle of unscrewing of the spare part. Here you should not forget to check the condition of the thread and, if necessary, wipe it.
Step five
The installation procedure for new elements is quite simple even for an inexperienced car enthusiast. Before screwing in the spark plug, apply a special product to it to simplify this process. The part is inserted into the socket and slightly rotated counterclockwise. After several revolutions, screwing continues along its course.
Step six
To protect the device from external factors, a cap is placed on it. If it comes included and is made of plastic, then you can put it on very simply - move it down until it clicks. If it is a rubber element, then before installation the surface of the spark plug is treated with a special lubricant that does not conduct electric current.
How to replace spark plugs in a 16-valve version?
The procedure should be performed on a cooled LADA Largus engine.
Process:
- We disconnect the wire blocks from all 4 coils by carefully pressing the latches.
- We take the key “8” and unscrew the bolt that holds the coil body to the cylinder head cover. We do this on all coils.
- We remove the coils along with the tips from the wells, carefully pulling them off the spark plugs.
- We unscrew each of the spark plugs using the specified size 16 wrench.
- We install new spark plugs one by one, observing the required tightening torque of 25-30 Nm. This avoids difficulties with unscrewing if the spark plugs need to be replaced.
- We put the coils on and tighten the bolts that secure them.
- We connect the electrical blocks in the reverse order.
Having completed the installation, start the engine and observe the stability of its operation.
When to change spark plugs, which ones to install
Spark plugs for Largus 1.6 differ from each other only depending on how many valves the engine has. On cars with 8-valve engines (K7M, VAZ-11189), the manufacturer installs spark plugs under article number 7700500168. They have a regular nickel central electrode and two side electrodes. The same candles can be found directly from the manufacturer EYQUEM under the article number RFC58LZ2E. An analogue from a Russian manufacturer has article number 224013682R. These models are no different from each other and are interchangeable.
On Largus with a 16-valve K4M engine, spark plugs are installed under article number 7700500155. Unlike the previous spare part, these spark plugs have one side electrode, but they are nickel. The French manufacturer EYQUEM has the article number RFN58LZ. The Russian analogue has article number 224018651R.
On a Largus with a 16-valve engine, you can also install spark plugs with 2 side electrodes from an 8-valve engine, but not vice versa. On 8-valve valves, only 2-pin ones are installed. As drivers note, spark plugs with 2 side electrodes slightly improve engine performance by reducing vibration.

Since the manufacturer installs conventional nickel spark plugs on their cars, which have a short service life, Largus owners often resort to installing more expensive iridium spark plugs. Their service life is often 3-4 times longer than nickel ones, and in addition they also slightly improve the dynamic performance of the engine. For 8 valve Lada Largus, the most popular model is Denso IW20 at a price of 670 rubles/piece. And for 16-valve cars it will be Denso IK20 RUB 520/piece.
Which ones to choose
The Lada Largus has power units with 8 valves and 16 valves. The engines allow the installation of non-original spark plugs, but their parameters must fully comply with factory requirements, which include external characteristics:
- the leg must have an M14 thread;
- the length of the main part is 19 mm;
- The installation parameter must correspond to the 16th dimension of the socket (spark) wrench.
It is possible to use elements with one or more lateral electrodes. Manufacturers use alloys of chromium, iridium, nickel or platinum as materials in the manufacture of these consumable components.
The LADA Largus version with a 16-valve engine is perfectly suited to related Renault models with the original code “7700500155”.
If we consider analogues, it is recommended to opt for the “Motrio 224018651R” products. These candles are quite rare and cannot be found in some cities. Therefore, as a replacement, you can take a closer look at models such as:
- “SAGEM RFN58LZ” or “BOSCH FR 7 LDC+ 0242235668”;
- "CHAMPION RC87YCL" or "DENSO K20TTK20TT#4".
These consumables can be installed on 16-valve versions of 1.6-liter engines (K4M).
For 8-valve options, it is also recommended to use original products, and in their absence, analogues from manufacturers designated a little earlier.
In this “spark” issue, the difference between LADA Largus engines with 16 valves and 8 valves is that in the first case, a separate coil “works” with each spark plug (there are 4 of them), and in the second case, all 4 spark plugs “serve” one coil. We also note the differences between the candles of the two types of units:
- type of products;
- sizes;
- gap size;
- heat number.
Factory recommendations
If we contact the manufacturer directly, he redirects us to the operating manual and service book of the car, where not a word is said about spark plugs. To top it off, he sends it to the dealer.
If you look at the Largus manual, then for the K7J and K7M engines Champion RYCLC87 and SAGEM RFN58LZ spark plugs are recommended, and without division into 8-cl and 16-cl.
When to change
According to the LADA Largus maintenance regulations, spark plugs are changed every 30 thousand km. But, as most drivers note, the actual service life of original spark plugs often approaches the 50 thousand km mark. If iridium spark plugs are installed, they usually last up to 100 - 120 thousand km.
What spark plugs are installed on Largus
A note about what spark plugs are installed on the 8-valve Largus from the factory; what spark plugs the manufacturer recommends; where you can buy original spark plugs at an affordable price.
The first 15 thousand on my Gus are long gone. And this is the mileage at which the car undergoes its first maintenance. At the same time, one of the mandatory service work was the replacement of spark plugs. The procedure is not complicated and took me no more than 20 minutes.
But before that the question arose: “What replacement candles should I buy?” Having opened the hood and unscrewing one of the spark plugs, I found out that my 8 valve valve has two-pin spark plugs Eyquem (RFC58LZ2E), made in France. The gap between the electrodes is 0.95 mm (± 0.05 mm). The country of manufacture “Made in France” is indicated on the case.
Here is a photo of one of them:
Where can I buy?
- Article 224013682R — spark plug for 8 cells Lada Largus (7700500168), 2 electrodes, Romania, original
- Article 224018651R — spark plug for 16 cl Lada Largus (replacement 7700500155), 1 electrode, France, original
I ordered according to the first article, i.e. 224013682R. The purchased candles corresponded to the original ones, with the only difference being that the country of manufacture was Russia. Information about this is indicated on the packaging. On the body of the spark plug itself are indicated: letter markings of the Renault company, alphanumeric code. Country not specified.
This is what the packaging of domestic candles 224013682R looks like:
And here is the candle itself:
I installed these spark plugs after the first maintenance. I also continue to use them at every scheduled replacement. There are already four technical inspections under my belt. The mileage has exceeded 60 thousand. The flight is normal.
The only question I have left is, what kind of spark plugs come under article number 7700500168 (7700500155)? Maybe just the original French ones? I'll try to buy one of these someday and find out what kind of animal it is.
I found this out the next time I replaced the spark plugs. 7700500168 are two-pin Made in France. Bought at a price of 179 rubles. a piece. Set of four pieces—RUB 719.

Recommendations for replacement intervals
Officially, replacement of original spark plugs on Lada Largus is required every 30 thousand km. When used in domestic conditions, the service life of consumables barely exceeds 15 thousand km. The reason for this is the low quality of the fuel sold.
During operation, unscheduled replacement of spark plugs may be required. The main reasons for carrying it out are:
- a long trip is expected;
- it is impossible to adjust the gap;
- The spark plug has one of the damages shown in the image below.
Spark plugs from different manufacturers
Suitable single-contact spark plugs are Renault spark plugs for the K7M eight-valve power unit. They are simple and will become a reliable source of ignition. They are produced in France, but if in another country, then they must be subject to strict control by the company. Candles from Bosh, NGK and Denso can also become high-quality analogues.
Bosch FR7DC+ from German manufacturers, coated with iridium, are considered one of the best. Other models you can consider: Denso K20PRU11 and NGK 4856 BKR6E.
The models considered are suitable and can be easily installed on both the K7M 710 and the sixteen-valve K4M 690.
Spark plugs with a large number of contacts for Lada Largus
With the constant occurrence of an electrical discharge between the center and side electrodes, the side electrodes are gradually destroyed. However, if you use a multi-contact design, the service life will increase significantly. It is because of this that when installing original two-pin spark plugs from Renault or Bosch on 8-valve internal combustion engines of the K7M type, the costs of periodic maintenance of the Lada Largus car are significantly reduced.

Japanese brand spark plugs made in France. One of the most popular for the Largus 8-valve injector. Excellent performance characteristics of the spark plugs ensure stable engine operation in any temperature conditions. According to reviews from car owners, when replacing used spark plugs with new NGK brand ones, the car's gas mileage decreases, it becomes easier to start and has smooth, stable idle. Some note the high price of these candles, comparing them with cheap analogues. But they completely exhaust their resource of 30,000 km. And under normal vehicle operating conditions and high-quality fuel, some owners have NGK spark plugs that last 50,000-60,000 km.

...and take it out of the spark plug well...and take it out of the spark plug well.
Install the new spark plug in the reverse order.
When screwing in a spark plug, it is necessary to rotate the spark plug wrench or extension with the head by hand, and not with a wrench or ratchet, to avoid damaging the threads of the spark plug hole in the cylinder head.
If the spark plug does not follow the thread, strong resistance to rotation will be felt. In this case, it is necessary to completely unscrew the spark plug and, after cleaning the threads, re-tighten it. Finally tighten the spark plug to a torque of 25–30 Nm.
Attention! Over-tightening the spark plugs can damage the threads in the spark plug holes in the cylinder head.
We replace the remaining spark plugs in the same way.
How to change spark plugs on a Lada Vesta with your own hands
On an older 8-valve engine, changing spark plugs is easier because there is only one ignition coil for all four cylinders. This is firstly, and secondly, structurally, replacing them is simpler, since they are not recessed into wells, as in a double-shaft block head. Therefore, all you need to do to replace spark plugs on a Vesta with an 8-valve VAZ 11189 engine is to remove the caps from the spark plugs and unscrew them with a standard spark plug wrench.
On engines with a twin-shaft cylinder head and 16 valves, you will have to unscrew each ignition coil separately. At the same time, it is important not to confuse them; when replacing all spark plugs at once, it is better to mark the coils.
To remove the coil from the spark plug well, we need to remove the decorative plastic casing and unscrew the coil securing screw with a Torx e8 bat. After this, you need to disconnect the coil connector from the harness and remove it from the spark plug well.
Now all that remains is to unscrew the spark plug with a long head of 16, carefully inspect the spark plug well for oil drips, carefully wipe it with a rag and install the new spark plug in place. The tightening torque should be within 25-30 Nm no more, so as not to damage the threads in the block head. Good luck with the replacement and a strong, stable spark!

Types of engines and nuances of replacement
The technology for replacing spark plugs on a Renault Duster depends on the modification of the power plant. On pre-restyling versions, two types of gasoline power plants were used - 1.6-liter (K4M) and 2.0-liter (F4R).
On restyled crossovers, the K4M engine was replaced with a newer one - H4M, but the F4R was not changed.
The replacement procedure on the K4M and F4R units is almost identical, with the exception of one small nuance regarding the 2.0-liter engine. But on the H4M engine the algorithm is different, and significantly so.
2.0-liter engine (F4R)
Next, we will consider the complete algorithm for replacing spark plugs on a 2-liter F4R unit.
Equipment to perform the procedure will require:
- Set of heads with extensions and cranks;
- Spark plug head 16 (deep and preferably equipped with a rubber seal or magnet to hold the spark plugs);
- A compressor with a blowing gun (instead, you can use a can of compressed air used when repairing office equipment);
- A set of new spark plugs.
The operation is performed on a cold engine.
- Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery;
- We disconnect the chips with wiring from the coils (to remove, you need to press the latch);
- Using a blow gun or a can of compressed air, blow off dust from the collector and adjacent surfaces;
- Using a 8-mm socket with an extension and a knob, unscrew the bolts securing the coils and remove the latter;
- On the 4th cylinder, in addition to the coil, the bolt also holds the solenoid valve of the variable valve timing system. To remove the coil on this cylinder, after unscrewing the fasteners, you need to turn the indicated valve around the axis so that the eyelet for its fixation does not interfere with removal;
- We blow out the spark plug wells to blow out accumulated dust from them;
- Use a candle head to turn off the candles. If the tool has a magnet or rubber band, then we use it to remove it. If the head does not hold the spark plugs, then the ignition coil will help to get them out (after unscrewing the element, put the coil on it and take it out);
- We install new spark plugs and tighten them with a force of 25 Nm. If there is no dynamic key, then we proceed as follows - tighten it by hand until it stops, then turn it with the knob until it stops, applying medium force to it (you can’t pull too much, since you can break the threads in the head);
- We put the coils in place, fix them with bolts and connect the wiring.
As you can see, the operation of replacing spark plugs on a Duster with an F4R engine is not difficult; the main thing is to carefully blow out all debris and dust so that they do not get into the spark plug wells, and then into the cylinders.
Replacing spark plugs on an 8-valve Largus with a K7M Renault engine
On the 8-valve Renova unit, the spark plugs are the same as on the 11189 engine.
1. Remove the tips of the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs. If you remove all the wires at once, remember or mark which one comes from where. Or you can change one candle at a time. In this case, the risk of mixing up the wires is minimal.
2. Using a 16″ spark plug wrench, unscrew the old spark plug and install a new spark plug, having previously lubricated it with copper or graphite grease.
3. We put on the tip of the wire.
By the way, I completely forgot to give the article. You can order candles for K7M by number 7700500252. You can also select analogues using this antique.
The difference between replacing spark plugs for an 8-valve engine
To replace, you only need a 16 mm wrench. The 8-valve engine does not contain any pads.

Types of spark plugs for cars
Lada Largus is equipped with original parts with two side electrodes for the 8-valve K7M engine and one for the 16-valve K4M. Catalog numbers are 224013682R/7700500168 and 224018651R/7700500155, respectively. It is possible to select consumables of a different brand. According to Largus owners, the highest quality are:
- 77 00 500 168 (Renault);
- Denso K20TXR;
- Beru Z193;
- Bosch FR7LDC;
- NGK BKR6K 2288.
Champion RYCLC87, Sagem RFN58LZ and Eyquem RFC58LZ2E spark plugs have proven themselves well. They are most in demand by Lada Largus owners. Main technical characteristics of the products:
- thread diameter;
- thread length;
- size of the key for screwing into the block head;
- heat number;
- number of side electrodes;
- gap between electrodes.
Almost all passenger cars are equipped with M14×1.25 spark plugs with a length of 19 mm. Key sizes for Russian cars range from 14 mm to 21 mm. The heat number characterizes the operating temperature. It is proportional to the gas pressure in the combustion chamber, at which spontaneous ignition of the air-fuel mixture begins from the hot electrodes. According to the Russian classification, the heat number can be from 8 to 26.
Based on the number of side electrodes, spark plugs are divided into single-contact, with one electrode, and multi-contact, with 2 or more electrodes. An important parameter is the gap between them: the wider it is, the more powerful the spark. But if the gap is too large, there is a danger of breakdown of the insulation on the motor housing.
In spark plugs for Lada Largus, the gap between the electrodes is 0.95 mm ± 0.05 mm.
The best spark plugs for Lada Largus
For Lada Largus with a 16-valve engine, spark plugs with two electrodes are suitable, which are suitable for an 8-valve engine, but the other way around will not work. On 8-valve engines, only 2-pin spark plugs are installed. They have two side electrodes; such products increase the efficiency of the power unit, plus it reduces vibration during operation.
There are a large number of different models of car spark plugs on the market that are suitable for the Lada Largus. However, not all of them correspond to the declared characteristics, ensure normal operation of the power unit and have a long service life. We tested a large number of candles from dozens of manufacturers, which allowed us to create a list of the best candles. When compiling it, we took into account the results of our tests, as well as reviews from car owners and automotive experts.

Spark plugs Lada Largus for 8- and 16-valve engines

How to remove ignition coils on K4M and K7M engines
The ignition system of the K4M engine consists of individual ignition coils and spark plugs for each cylinder. There are no high-voltage wires in the ignition system - the tip of the coil is placed directly on the spark plug.
The ignition system of the K7M engine consists of an ignition coil, high-voltage wires and spark plugs. The K7M engine has an ignition module, which is a block of two coils.
The tips of high-voltage wires are connected to the terminals of the secondary windings of the coils. The current in the primary windings of the ignition coils is controlled by the ECU depending on the engine operating mode.
The coils are powered sequentially in pairs. Thus, a spark simultaneously jumps in two cylinders (1-4 or 2-3) - in one at the end of the compression stroke (working spark), in the other at the end of the exhaust stroke (idle).
Removing and installing ignition coils
We prepare the car for the job. Using a 10 key, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
On the K4M engine, disconnect the wiring harness blocks from coils 1.
Rice. 1
Using a 8mm socket, unscrew the 2nd bolts securing the ignition coils and remove them.
Before installing the ignition coils, you need to replace the bolts 2, the coil fastenings and, if necessary, replace the coil sealing rings.
Before installing the coils, you need to apply FLUOSTAR 2L with a thickness of 2 mm along the inner circumference of the ignition coil cap on the side of the spark plug and ignition coil.
Install ignition coils 1 onto the spark plugs, screw in and tighten the ignition coil mounting bolts. Bolt tightening torque 14 N.m (1.4 kgf.m) (replaceable head 8, extension, wrench, torque wrench).
Connect the wiring harness connectors to the ignition coils.
Connect the earth wire terminal to the battery (spanner 10).
Removing and installing the ignition module
Disconnect connector 1, wiring harness from ignition module 2.
Rice. 2
Disconnect the ends of the 3 high-voltage wires from the module.
Rice. 3
Using a TorxT30 screwdriver, unscrew bolts 1 securing the ignition module and remove module 2 (Figure 3).
Installation:
- Install ignition module 2, Figure 3, screw in and tighten bolts 1 securing the ignition coils. Bolt tightening torque 15 N.m (1.5 kgf.m) (Torx T30 screwdriver, replaceable Torx T30 attachment, extension, torque wrench).
- Attach tips 3, Figure 2, of high-voltage wires to the ignition module.
- Connect block 1 of the wiring harness to the ignition module.
- Connect the negative terminal to the battery (spanner 10).
Typical unit malfunctions
The short circuit is a reliable unit with a long service life, but it can fail.
Signs of a short circuit fault:
- engine power decreases;
- failures at certain speeds;
- misfires;
- high fuel consumption;
- work with jerks at idle;
- coil overheating due to internal short circuit;
- The Check Engine light comes on.
Based on these signs, it is impossible to say for sure that the short circuit is faulty. Therefore, its diagnosis is necessary.

These spark plugs have a minimal cost, but provide stable ignition of the fuel-air mixture throughout the entire declared service life.
- Characteristics Average price: 92 rub.
- Country: Czech Republic
- Center electrode material: nickel
- Heat number: 15
- Gap, mm: 1.0
- Resource, km: 30000
These spark plugs are ideal for Lada Largus with a 16-valve engine. Car owners note that even in severe frost they have no problems starting the engine. The engine with them demonstrates stable operation and idle speed without failures. Of course, all this happens with timely replacement of spark plugs. Some drivers, especially residents of northern regions, take precautions before the onset of cold weather. They change spark plugs without waiting for 30,000 km. Some do this for 15,000 km, others for 20,000 km. However, the cost of such a kit for a car allows replacement more often than recommended by the manufacturer. And do it without burdening your budget.
Advantages and disadvantages
- Stable spark
- High quality build
- Low price
- Short service life
Which spark plugs are suitable for a 16 cl K4M engine?
If you have a Lada Largus with a 16 valve engine, the original Renault spark plugs 7700500155 will suit you. The official analogues of these spark plugs are Motrio 224018651R. If you can’t buy such candles from us, you can get by with analogues from other manufacturers:
- BOSCH FR 7 LDC+ 0242235668 price from 600 rubles per set
- DENSO K20TT K20TT#4 price per set from 550 rub.
- CHAMPION RC87YCL
- SAGEM RFN58LZ
The above spark plugs are suitable for a 1.6 16 cl engine. K4M 102 (105) hp To replace the spark plugs, we need a spark plug wrench with a size of 16 and a socket with a size of 8 in order to unscrew the ignition coils.
The difference between replacing spark plugs on 16-cl and 8-cl engines is that on 16-valve engines each spark plug has a separate ignition coil, and on 8-valve engines there is only one coil. Also, spark plugs have different potassium numbers, plug types, diameters and gaps.
When replacement is required
The spark plugs should be replaced in accordance with the vehicle maintenance regulations, that is, every 15 thousand km. These are the requirements when it comes to standard spare parts supplied by the manufacturer. There are many innovative types of these platinum plated or iridium plated parts available in the aftermarket today. In such cases, their service life is much longer.
Spark plugs must be replaced not only as planned or for preventive purposes, but also due to malfunctions. This could be contamination of the skirt with carbon deposits or oil when driving on a cold engine, or coking of the thermal cone caused by increased oil consumption. If replacement is not done in a timely manner, the electrodes may burn out, resulting in an increase in the gap and an insulation breakdown. One of the causes of problems may be a manufacturing defect, leading to the passage of gases through the insulator and housing. If these faults are present, the car does not start well or the engine begins to stall. This is unacceptable for further operation of the car - you need to find the damaged spark plug and replace it.
Top CHAMPION OE063T10
Rating (2021): 4.25 Reliable and efficient
Inexpensive spark plugs with performance characteristics that guarantee reliable operation of the Largus engine and fuel economy.
- Characteristics Average price: 223 rub.
- Country: Italy
- Center electrode material: nickel
- Heat number: 10
- Gap, mm: 1.0
- Resource, km: 30000
Like other representatives of our rating, these spark plugs work flawlessly in both summer and winter. Some cars leave the assembly line with them and consistently drive 30,000 km before the planned replacement. Owners of Lada Largus notice that the new spark plugs start the engine perfectly, which even idles without failure. Gasoline consumption is reduced by up to 10%. However, towards the end of the spark plugs' life, their effectiveness in relation to the engine decreases slightly. Few people leave them running longer than the recommended mileage, because the engine loses its power, which means gasoline consumption increases noticeably. Although this is observed when using other candle models beyond the deadline.
Advantages and disadvantages
- Reasonable price
- Reliable build
- Standard resource
- Ineffective after the resource has expired
Long service life of glow plugs depending on electrode material
The automaker usually supplies cheap spark plugs with nickel electrodes from the factory, and therefore they are expected to have a low 30 thousand-kilometer service life. In other words, their resources are adjusted exactly to the standard regulations for carrying out maintenance-2 with the requirement to replace spark plug consumables.
And already during TO-2, the owners of facelift Largus, having suffered from problems with cold starts and unstable engine operation, buy more expensive ones for spark plug rotation, namely iridium igniters, the service life of which is three or even four times longer than the service life of the products, like with nickel and with copper-nickel tips.
In addition to subsequent savings on consumables, iridium igniters, for example, such as IW20 , as well as IK20 from the most popular manufacturer in our garage environment, namely Denso , make it possible to improve both traction and speed, as well as the environmental characteristics of engines.
Both linear and rotational power, both stability and efficiency of motor operation, including environmental indicators of exhaust toxicity - all these characteristics depend on the correct choice of spark plugs.
