The capacity of the luggage compartment of the 2180 liftback during normal operation will be 440 liters, which is already more than that of the sedan. This effect is achieved thanks to the different shape of the fifth door - it is not closed in its own space, but has access to the salon. This will extend the cargo capacity due to empty passenger seats. The rear seats fold down and the shelf is removed.

Trunk volume increases to 760 liters (i.e. doubled!).

Design

This version of the car differs from the sedan in its shorter rear overhang. This feature is due to the different shape of the trunk lid. This is the main difference between the Lada Vesta Liftback.

The headlights of the model are slanted and slightly tilted. Their lines form the Latin letter X. This is the legacy of the single-platform Lada X-Ray. The same lines can be traced along the sides. The model has characteristic notches on the wings. This allows you to identify a new VAZ car even when viewed from the side.

Design and external features of the car

The design and exterior of the Lada Vesta hatchback were created using innovative styling solutions from AvtoVAZ. In recent years, the manufacturer has formed a corporate design for its cars, which has reached the level of full competitiveness in relation to the leaders of foreign production.

The design features include the following elements:

the front part of the car is decorated with a decorative element, which is a special X-shaped symbol formed by a false radiator grille, headlights, a non-standard air intake and fog lights;
on the sides of the body there are fenders with a modern relief pattern, they emphasize the new corporate style of AvtoVAZ;
the wings and streamlined shape of the Lada Vesta hatchback give the car excellent aerodynamic characteristics and allow it to be more controllable when driving along the highway at high speed;
the rear of the liftback will be raised and equipped with an ergonomic lid covering the cargo compartment.

The body length of the hatchback or liftback, which will be released this year, will be slightly less than that of the sedan - 4250 mm and 4410 mm, respectively. The height will be 1497 mm and the width will be 1764 mm. These overall dimensions bring the hatchback closer to a regular four-door model in size.

Buyers will have three engine options available for the hatchback. Two of them are products from VAZ, and the third is a product from a friendly concern with a global reputation - Renault-Nissan.

Depending on the vehicle configuration, power will vary from 87 to 114 horsepower. The Lada Vesta will be offered with manual and robotic gearboxes. In the luxury configuration, the car will reach speeds of up to one hundred kilometers per hour in 10.3 seconds. The maximum speed will be limited to 185 km/h.

Ground clearance of the new Lada Vesta

According to experts, the distance to the protection of the engine compartment reaches 180 mm, and to the cups on which the rear springs are located – 165 mm.

This may be enough for confident driving on roads with poor quality surfaces. In addition, ground clearance allows you to confidently drive on snowy roads.

But manufacturers are not going to rest on their success. We can expect an expansion of the line in the near future. It is quite possible that we will soon see the Lada Vesta liftback version. AvtoVAZ planned to produce almost all versions of the body. The series production includes VAZ models: sedan, station wagon, crossover. The next body type of the Lada Vesta should be a hatchback or liftback. However, when analyzing the consumer market, AvtoVAZ found out that the Lada Vesta Liftback would be in demand. It can become a replacement for the Lada Granta, which is in great demand due to its capacity.

The luggage space of the liftback is connected to the passenger compartment and, when the rear seats are folded, its volume doubles. This is precisely why buyers so value the faceless Granta and Priora - models, frankly speaking, are already outdated (the Lada Vesta sedan is better in terms of technical and other characteristics, but there is clearly not enough space for cargo). There is unofficial evidence that their production will cease in the near future.

Body

The main difference from previous models that is immediately noticeable is the body design. Sedans were the first to hit the roads. Their production began in September 2022, and sales began in November.

But the Lada Vesta Liftback is considered the most anticipated version of the model among car enthusiasts. This arrangement is extremely popular in our country. These cars look great and are no less comfortable than station wagons.

Initially, it was planned to launch the Lada Vesta Hatchback series shortly after the sedan. But later it was decided to do this after the appearance of the station wagon.

At the moment, AvtoVAZ representatives are announcing the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2022.

Initially, it was planned that modifications of Vesta would be put on the conveyor in the following sequence: sedan, hatchback, station wagon. After some time, it was decided to abandon the hatchback in favor of the SW (Sport Wagon) modification. A Lada Vesta in a liftback body is not currently in AVTOVAZ’s plans, but Kolesa.ru decided to imagine what it could turn out like.

According to the portal, this body option is quite suitable for Vesta, combining some solidity (unlike “short” hatchbacks) and ease of use of the luggage compartment. In the liftback body, you can install a wiper on the rear window, and the central brake light will move to the trunk lid.
