Connecting Priora SE mirrors on a VAZ 2112

Good afternoon everyone. I decided to touch on the banal topic of installing heated and electrically controlled mirrors from Priora 2 on a VAZ 2110. I don’t see the point in describing all the delights of owning these mirrors, but I will dwell on the installation of wiring in more detail. I hope my experience will be useful.

What we buy: 1.Prior 2 mirrors, without turn signal, not painted, heated and electrically adjustable. I'm afraid to make a mistake with the manufacturer, Ulyanovsk or Nizhny Novgorod. When disassembling the mirrors for painting, Chinese electric motors were found inside. Let's hope they won't let us down. Price 1300 rubles (as of February 2016) Samara, Rakita market;

3. Mirror control joystick 12.3769. Suitable for regular place. Convenient to manage. Has a “middle” position. The control handle does not stick out, unlike the UAZ one. Price 550 rubles, (as of July 2016) Samara, Rakita market;

4. Block for wires, for 9 females. Price 30 rubles, (as of July 2016) Samara, Rakita market; Why did you buy the wiring harness 2110.8201326-41? I was hoping to save time on installation. Did not work out. Considering that the UAZ joystick was not used and it was necessary to add 15 cm to each mirror. A waste of money. In my opinion. The only positive point is the connectors already connected to ground (black wire) with a ring tip, heating (brown), joystick backlight (yellow) and power (white). We open the connectors behind the mounting block and insert our wires into the gap.

Guys, before starting any electrical work, turn off the power to the system. This will save you from a lot of trouble.

We find the power connector for the heated rear window (gray wire with a red streak), connect it to the brown wire of the harness 2110.8201326-41.

We hang the mass in the designated place. The photo shows.

We insert the white power wire into the gap in the pink wire. In my case, the previous owner inserted a fuse into the circuit for some reason. I didn't take it out. Left it.

Installation

Remove the standard side mirrors (pry off the mirror triangle with a screwdriver and remove the three mounting screws). Install the new mirror in the reverse order.

We stretch the turn signal wires to the mirrors:

  1. Remove the door trim.
  2. Remove the turn signal from the fender and disconnect the block. We install plugs instead.
  3. Pull the wires out of the fender and into the interior. To do this, unscrew the sill trims in the cabin, peel back the carpet and felt and pull the black wire in the engine panel. We determine which of the two +12 V wires using a multimeter or a test lamp. We insulate the second wire.
  4. Route the wire from the passenger compartment to the car door through the corrugation.

Installation of electric mirrors on a VAZ 2112

In the summer of 2003 I was on vacation in the city of Vladivostok. I have never seen such a number of cars at the car market - the famous Green Corner - anywhere else. I wandered around from ten in the morning until three in the afternoon, but I didn’t get around everything. The spare parts market attracted particular attention, they have EVERYTHING for their real Japanese cars... Well, okay, back to the topic of mirrors.

It is no secret for owners of cars of the tenth family that the problem of visibility through standard rear-view mirrors is very acute. The right mirror, although with a spherical element, has limited adjustment. This is especially important when the seat is moved to the far position; almost only the side of the car is visible in the mirror. The left one is also not without its drawbacks; it would be possible to make it spherical too, the viewing angle would definitely increase. And the biggest drawback, in my opinion, is the mirrors - they shake. I was asking the price for electric mirrors “Caprice” produced in Samara, but the price, again, is not the least important thing. It was then that the mirrors on the Japanese models with electric drive, folding and heating caught my attention. Moreover, on almost all cars, it doesn’t matter what year they were produced (I saw a “bucket” made in 1978, and it had standard: power steering, air conditioning, central locking, electric lifts 4 pcs., electric mirrors, automatic transmission , velor, etc.). By Japanese standards, this is not an option, but standard equipment. So, the idea crept in to put similar mirrors on my car. After walking around the market, I chose mirrors from a 1995 TOYOTA Corona car; they have a fairly large frame and excellent shape. Having asked the mirror seller the question: “How much?”, I received a counter question: “For what car? What year of manufacture? What color?”, with pride for the domestic auto industry, he replied: “For two!”, to which he answered me: “I don’t have those, and I’m crazy for buying a VAZ.” Fortunately, there are simply too many containers selling mirrors, so I went to someone else. I didn’t mention the domestic car again. Almost any mirror cost around 500 rubles apiece. In short, the mirrors were purchased, but unfortunately they were left with relatives, who sent them by parcel.

I connected the electrical control circuit for adjustment, folding and heating according to the above diagram. Explanations for the diagram. The control circuit for the folding mirror mechanism was connected in parallel to the power supply circuit for the electric windows, that is, to the same fuse, since the folding option is rarely used and raising the windows and folding the mirrors at the same time is not very convenient. I placed the control keys for the mirror folding mechanism by cutting holes on the left in the lower part of the dashboard, next to the headlight hydraulic adjustment control.

There were no special problems with the installation. I had to enlarge the opening for the triangular protrusion for fastening the Japanese mirrors and drill two additional holes. The mirrors stood up as if they were “native”. On the interior side, I left the standard trims, only sealed the slots with blue material, the same as the interior door handles. Both mirrors have aspherical elements, so viewing angles are very wide. The mirrors stand “dead”, no vibration even when driving on very poor surfaces. The mirrors have the ability to fold when entering, for example, a garage, both in forward motion and in reverse. In general, the “miracle” of Japanese technology of the last century has taken root in the domestic machine.

This is what happened. In my opinion, it’s very good and most importantly functional. List of foreign cars from which mirrors are suitable:

TOYOTA Carina E TOYOTA Camry - expensive TOYOTA Corolla NISSAN Primera 97. 5600 rub. HYNDAI Accent HONDA Accord HONDA Civic MAZDA 626 - 96 and even from BMW 97 onwards.

Connection

Old style mirrors (without direction indicators) have two connectors (3 and 2 wires):

The mirrors of the new SE model have 1 block of 6 wires:

We cut off the wires from the SE mirror block and solder it according to the diagram:

The process of installing and connecting mirrors of the new SE model is also shown in the video:

Mirror elements for LADA Priora

Rear view mirrors or side mirrors are a mandatory element on a Priora, as on any other car. They allow the driver to control the situation behind his car. Side mirrors are installed on the front doors of Priora. Side mirrors help the driver when changing lanes, overtaking, turning, and parking. Without side mirrors, maneuvering on the road is simply life-threatening.

Naturally, for safe movement in a Priora, all mirror elements must be in excellent condition. Most often, mirror elements suffer from road accidents or hooliganism. Even the slightest impact leads to cracks in the mirror elements. It’s good that to repair the rear-view mirrors of a Lada Priora, you can always buy mirror elements with anti-glare and heating, like for the Lada Priora:

You can also buy turn signal indicators for the side mirrors of Lada Priora.

To replace the mirror elements of the Priora side mirrors, you will need a flat-head and Phillips screwdriver. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the side mirror from the door. Next, press on the bottom side of the Priora mirror element, a gap will appear. Insert a straight screwdriver into the resulting gap and unclip the lock of the mirror element. Then, disconnect the block with wires from the heater of the mirror element of the Lada Priora. Finally, you can unscrew the side mirror adjustment mechanism. Another replacement option is to simply break the mirror element with a hammer. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Owners of a Priora in an old body can install turn signal indicators on the mirrors. Of course, you'll have to tinker with the wiring. On mirrors with turn signals, in addition to the adjustment and heating pads, a third pad is mounted. Turn signal block. On the Internet you can find a wiring diagram for the kit for installing a turn signal in the Lada Priora mirrors.

After all the manipulations with replacing mirror elements and installing repeaters. Mirrors should be adjusted to minimize blind spots. There is a universal way to adjust the mirrors, taking into account the body structure of the Priora. All you need to do is ensure that all mirrors do not reflect the same objects. If a car is visible in the left mirror, then it should not be visible in the interior mirror. Thus, the car behind will move from one mirror to another until it overtakes.

Mirror elements of the Lada Priora are a fragile part of the car, without which driving becomes dangerous. Mirrors must be kept clean and tidy. Moreover, you can replace the mirror elements yourself, with just a couple of screwdrivers on hand.
