Today I would like to share more detailed and detailed information about the Lada X Ray salon. After all, this part of the car is usually not given too much attention.

The interior design of the Lada Xray is made in minimalism, a restrained and laconic style. Therefore, lovers of varied abundance inside the cabin of this car will not be to their taste and will find it a bit boring.

Let's start with the fact that the climate control in the car works perfectly, so you definitely won't have to die from heat or cold. We were pleasantly surprised by the makeup mirrors located on the visors. Although there is a small flaw here, which was noticed immediately during the first test drive.

The mirrors have absolutely no covers, curtains or latches. This fact greatly interferes with the process of driving a car, because all the driver’s attention should be focused on the road.

With the visors open, you have to not only monitor the controls, but also be distracted by the “interference” created by the mirror. We solved the problem, so to speak in a simple way, by covering the mirror with a piece of cardboard, effectively and cheaply. Now driving the Lada X Rey on a sunny day has become much more convenient.

I was pleased with the option in the cabin, which makes communication on the phone safe for the driver and pedestrians “hands-free.” This function is activated via the multimedia system, which is located on the steering wheel. It also allows for remote control of the audio system.

The only negative is that after turning on the ignition, tracks from the flash card start playing from the very beginning, and not from the place where listening was interrupted. The problem can be solved by the most common flashing.

Dashboard

The X X Ray panel is made, in my opinion, from a not very practical material - rough plastic. Firstly, the appearance is not presentable, as for a car of this level, and secondly, dust and dirt are quite difficult to remove from it. Of course, these are all little things, so to speak, not for everyone.

I liked the design of the car’s instrument panel, but its information content leaves much to be desired. The device's scales are so dim that it is very difficult to read and see them. There are a few other minor shortcomings that could have been foreseen in the X-Ray car. The lack of a central armrest, a heated steering wheel, and illuminated makeup mirrors are the main disadvantages inside the cabin.

It would be very good if the trajectory frame was movable. But it will be uncomfortable for the long-legged front passenger, because his leg will rest against the “beard” of the center console. There is an additional storage compartment under the front passenger seat. The presence of two airbags allows you to feel more confident on the road.

To summarize, we can say that driving such a car evokes positive emotions. The basic safety equipment is much higher than that of competitors. Regarding the interior, it is spacious, discreet and laconic. On a scale of ten, you can give it a solid nine for comfort. This rating is due to the fact that there are minor shortcomings in the functions and options of the xRay interior.

The second minus is the cramped interior

Ixray also inherited a cramped rear row of seats from the co-platform Renault Stepway. There is not enough air for its inhabitants. Once a person of above average height is behind the wheel, he will no longer be able to sit comfortably. And the trunk, which holds 304 liters (according to ZR measurements), cannot be called gigantic by modern standards.

In a word, if the price does not scare you, and there is no urgent need for a super-spacious trunk, then the Lada XRAY Cross is a completely worthy choice even against the backdrop of numerous competitors.

  • Finally, stylish cars have appeared in Russia, and in a decent car, everything should be beautiful: both the interior and the exterior. Well, the trunk is tidy, of course.

5 pros and two big minuses of the Lada XRAY Cross

Interior

The interior of the LADA XRAY Sport Concept combines sport and comfort: the front seats have a more developed profile and more pronounced lateral support. The seat upholstery is a combination of fabric, leather and red Alcantara. Leather trim is also used on the steering wheel (the steering wheel trim is stitched with bright thread), gearshift levers and handbrake.

An armrest is installed between the front seats. The interior of the charged Lada uses a carbon fiber coating. The sporty style is complemented by a black roof lining and red lighting in the footwells of the driver and passenger, as well as on the door trim - in the area of ​​the niche for small items and the unlocking handle. The gearshift lever is also illuminated. The instrument cluster illumination is red.

Specifications

The dimensions of the Lada XRAY Sport are unlikely to differ from the regular version of the crossover; all the differences lie in the technical part. The car is lowered not only visually (due to a lower front bumper), but also structurally (lowered suspension, which received sport settings). Braking mechanisms with increased efficiency; there are disc brakes at the rear.

The base engine (1.8 l, 122 hp) will be modified, the intake/exhaust manifolds will be changed and chip tuning will be done. As a result, 140-150 hp will be removed from the forced engine. The possibility of installing a turbo engine is being considered.

Let us remind you that the conceptual XRAY Sport was presented at the exhibition. This is a car that illustrates the possible development of the line of production LADAs with sporty settings and racing design. At the moment, the possibility of releasing this sports modification of XRAY is under discussion. Serial production should be expected after Vesta Sport, that is, not earlier than 2022. Let us remind you that the auto giant is also considering the possibility of releasing the Lada XRAY Cross.

In an interview with the AvtoSreda Internet portal, Oleg Grunenkov confirmed that the XRAY was indeed created on the basis of the Renault Sandero Stepway model. This is, first of all, the power frame of the body, chassis elements and even one of the engines - from the Renault line. This was done in order to minimize possible risks associated with the creation of a new car. But the body itself, the sidewall, the rear part and the doors are original and react differently in a side impact. The seating position, space in the cabin, etc. have been changed. And there is only one Renova engine, all the others are ours. And although the AVTOVAZ crossover is built on the basis of the Sandero Stepway, this is a car of a different level and class. It will get both manual and automatic transmission.

Grunenkov also said that the production version will differ little from the concept, the proportions will remain the same. The only differences are in the headlights and other little things that were added to the concept even before the components were fully agreed upon. Suppliers have now been selected and production preparations are underway.

In addition to the Lada XRAY, another crossover will appear in the lineup - the XRAY Cross. The fundamental difference between these cars is that the latter will have an all-wheel drive version, which means its body will be adapted specifically for the 4x4 version. True, the Cross will not have a low gear - it is still not intended for real off-road use. The all-wheel drive will be from the Renault Duster, but the XRAY Cross is more compact than the Duster, it has better approach and departure angles, and a different ground clearance. It is curious that the Cross’s passenger seat is foldable.

Among other things, XRAY Cross will receive an additional plastic body kit, larger wheels and a slightly modified line of power units.

The first disadvantage is the price

At the price in the maximum configuration, XRAY Cross has reached a new psychological mark of 900 thousand rubles. And although prices are now high for all cars, very few are willing to pay almost a million rubles for a Lada. On the other hand, not so long ago such a psychological mark was half a million rubles, then 700 thousand rubles... Nevertheless, even for this money Ladas are selling well.

Lada XRAY Cross: a hybrid of the B0 platform and Vesta

If you think that XRAY Cross is just a raised XRAY, then you are very mistaken. In fact, this is a very interesting fruit of original Tolyatti engineering, which combines parts of the B0 and Vesta platforms.

The development of the French platform by AvtoVAZ has been going on for ten years. After purchasing a license from Renault in the fall of 2008, Largus first appeared under the Lada brand, which is essentially no different from the original Logan station wagon. Then in Togliatti they made XRAY, which was already significantly different from the original Sandero Stepway hatchback in design, interior, and power units, but still inherited the ordinary driving character and all the birthmarks of the B0 chassis, including unclear reactive communication and high level vibrations on the steering wheel.

And now the XRAY Cross is coming out, the main technical innovation of which is a modified front suspension, where instead of Logan’s lower arms there are new L-shaped ones, essentially copied from Vesta’s suspension. The break-in shoulder is now negative, which should improve handling. In addition, the electro-hydraulic power steering has been replaced with an electric one, also following the example of Vesta. The steering column now has reach adjustment.

Vesta Cross also got rear disc brakes. This is the second case, after the Brazilian hatchback Renault Sandero RS, of using “discs” on production B0 cars - exactly what buyers of Logans, Captures and Dusters dream about. And higher-profile base tires - dimensions 215/50 R17 category M+S - gave a slight increase in ground clearance: from 195 to 215 mm.

And that's not it. Heated front seats have become three-stage, and its buttons have moved from the seat cushion to the center console. The rear sofa is also heated, but in addition, the angle of its backrest has also been changed (to a more vertical one), which made it possible to move the cushion 25 mm back, increasing legroom.

And finally, XRAY Cross became the first Lada with a selector washer that changes the operating modes of the stabilization system. There are four of these modes: normal, sports, winter, and sand. Plus the fifth position is to turn off “stabilization”.

Many of these innovations (for example, heating keys and a rear seat) will later appear on regular XRAY hatchbacks, but there is no information yet on how much they will change the price. As well as how much the XRAY Cross itself will cost. It will go on sale at the end of this year, and judging by the amount of modifications, the “cross” surcharge is unlikely to be less than in the case of West sedans and station wagons.
