Usually people switch from domestic cars to foreign cars. But my story is the opposite. After five years of using the Focus - a Spaniard, I switched to a VAZ. Budget 450 thousand. with kopecks. Why didn't you take a foreign car? Because after the Chia configuration there was no desire to take drums. And the new Priora is packaged very well. To my shame, I was not very familiar with the pre-restyling model, so it’s difficult to compare with it. The last VAZ car that I was “lucky enough” to use was 099. I put the definition in quotes because in fact I didn’t experience any positive emotions other than the fact that the car was new. Although during three years of operation there were no special problems. I modified the car as best I could, the VAZ is an excellent construction kit for those who like to tinker on their own. I installed front windows, music, castings, protection and many other small things. Now you don’t need to do all this, at least in my Priora configuration. There is, perhaps, everything except the skin. Climate system, heated front seats, huge mirrors with turn signal repeaters, ABS, stability control system, parking sensors, navigator, heated windshield - a thing (like in Focus), music with a large touch screen (reads almost all formats: CD, MP3, USB ,photo, video), Bluetooth, full power accessories, rain sensor, light sensor, electric power steering, functional on-board computer, front front and side airbags, PTF, illumination of the front door area, casting and even cruise control. This list is far from complete; I have listed only what, in my opinion, is necessary and sufficient in a modern car. This is especially true in this price category. My Priora costs 451,300 rubles. But any foreign car for this money will be empty and the only question is what engine it will have. After all, it’s a car with a 1.6 liter engine. with a power of 98 horses it is a strong mid-ranger. The appearance of the car is not flashy, a classic sedan body without any frills, which I personally like. There are not many differences with its predecessor; there are a huge number of them traveling on our roads. That’s why I won’t dwell on appearance for long. One thing I can say is that there were fewer scratches in the first month of operation than in the same period of ownership of the Focus, although it was not metallic. But the salon deserves attention. The front panel is much more fun than what was done before on the VAZ. I sadly remember the miserable high panel of my 099, the same gloomy “tidy” with primitive lighting. True, the quality of materials is not up to par with some foreign cars, but this is less of a problem than the obsessive smell of plastic. It's a gas chamber, not a new car smell. But I personally don’t really like the now fashionable glossy inserts. The fingerprint effect is impractical; it feels like those in the cabin are constantly eating fatty pies and pawing at the panel. The center console itself, with an emphasis on a large display and a scattering of original, well-placed buttons, looks modern and not cheap. The instrument panel with two instrument clusters looks good and is readable, but it glares a lot in the sun. The on-board computer displays a lot of parameters, informatively, better than in Focus. The central display is bright, the icons are simple, the resolution is average, the sensor sometimes reacts late, but in any case this is a breakthrough for the Lada. The ergonomics are not bad, you can get comfortable behind the wheel, but the process itself does not inspire admiration; the chair moves along the slide slowly and reluctantly. The lateral support rollers seem to be quite good, but they are not very grippy when cornering. There’s certainly not a lot of space in the back, but it’s quite bearable to drive with two people and an armrest. The trunk suits me. Surprisingly good noise, not that it’s completely quiet in the cabin, I just expected the worst. There are creaking noises both in the dashboard and in the area of ​​the B-pillars, but they are not critical. There are no system crickets yet. What upset me most was the gearbox. "Gift" from the past. On my 99, made in 1999, the gears fit even better. The gears are stuck in unclearly, and the third is even difficult. And when you turn on the rear lever, it also goes under the right knee. In short, the box is the biggest disappointment. Maybe over time the mechanism will work out. On the move, Priora behaves well. It absorbs bumps well, holds onto the road tenaciously, and steers sensibly. The amplifier is electric, after power steering on the Focus the steering wheel is lighter, but the feedback on the highway is not very informative and the feedback is blurry. The engine does not cause any complaints, it pulls well from below and allows for brisk acceleration in city mode. However, it’s difficult to fully evaluate the engine now while it’s running in, I’m not really prancing around. And in my experience, the car will be fully rolled out to thousands by seven to ten. By the same time, consumption will settle down. Now in the city he eats up to 16 liters. But it looks like they don’t care about the quality of gasoline. Ford was picky about fuel. In general, I'm happy with the car. The price-equipment balance is maintained. We can only hope that the reliability will not let us down.
