At this stage, many car enthusiasts begin to think about the trunk activator. It is quite possible to do this, you just need to try a little.

The Kalina station wagon trunk lock activator is easy to install. It is enough to take a self-drilling screw and secure it on one side with it and on the other with a wire holder. To check the device, you need to connect it to the standard connector.

The only problem in all this work may be the back door being picked up at the wrong time. After the current stops supplying the activator, it closes with the first latch, but the trunk is not completely closed. In order to get into the so-called fifth door, you will have to use the key again.

When replacing a belt, it is advisable to change the tensioner pulley, which should also be inspected. It should be free of scratches, chips, play, and deformation. The roller should rotate freely without delay. You should not neglect regularly checking the condition of the belt drive.

If the belt breaks on the way, further movement is only possible using the battery. But even if it is fully charged, you can move it for no more than one hour. Therefore, it is recommended to have a spare alternator belt in the trunk in case it breaks.

Electric drive: easy installation option

The technique is simple, the only thing needed is to make a rotating plate and a rod for it yourself. The wiring should be routed to the electric lock and connected to a special control unit. When disarming the car, the electric trunk lock will be activated after the fifth door opening button is unlocked.

The entire installation task is based on connecting the electric lock to two wires. You can purchase the part at any auto store. The trunk end must be additionally hidden to prevent water from getting into it. Otherwise, it will periodically short out during rain.

An important attribute is the trunk hinges. Wires are often broken in this place, so their condition must be carefully monitored.

Before installing the electric drive, the trunk lid trim is removed. The main thing is not to damage it during this process. It is recommended to choose a lock that will not need to be modified during operation.

An important step in the installation process is wiring; you can use those wires that are standardly suitable for the fifth door of the car.

Power is taken from the cigarette lighter. An important point is the installation of a protective fuse. The wire is laid along the threshold; it will take approximately 3.5 meters. Then the installation takes place.

Having entered a similar request into the search, I found scant information that people really put Kalina locks on their nines, after which they forget about all the problems. It seemed to me that I could forget about them too, so I made a list like this in my head:

The lock is from Kalina (as it turned out during the search, you need it from a sedan, not from a hatchback, they are different in design).
The mating part, which is attached to the body. By the way, it fits perfectly on the nine; you don’t have to drill any extra holes. But there are minor nuances that will be discussed further.
Installing a Kalina lock means that the trunk will open only by electric drive (or by a lever from the inside). Therefore, you need to take a kit for the central locking - one gear motor, all the accessories come with it (screws, bar).
For electrical wiring you need a button; it is not necessary to install a relay, since this will only load the entire circuit. But a fuse of 16 A maximum is worth installing. But 8 A is enough.

Then it turned out that you still needed two plastic or rubber plugs - you can pick them up by visiting any auto parts store.

I put it all together, skimped, and only one important detail remained – the mounting bracket. Judging by people's reviews, you need to use a 30X30 mm corner. I can’t find anything suitable, so I make a corner out of the plank and open the door to try everything.

Owners of the Lada Kalina car are almost unanimously surprised: with all the bias towards Europe, the trunk lock of the Kalina hatchback in the basic configuration for some reason can only be opened with a key. When you press the gas pedal, the fuel pump creates pressure in the line and pushes gasoline through the fuel filter to the injection system. There, the fuel-air mixture is prepared, which is fed into the cylinder in the form of fine dust. At this moment, the spark plug ignites the mixture, which, when burned, sets in motion the pistons, which turn the engine crankshaft using a crank mechanism.

Combustion products are removed from the cylinder and the process is repeated. Removal is accomplished by opening the exhaust valve, which allows the piston to force exhaust gases through the exhaust manifold. The exhaust is cleaned by a catalytic converter, then its energy is extinguished by a muffler, after which it is removed through the exhaust pipe. In general, the situation is similar with motorcycle engines, only they have a smaller engine size. Therefore, if you are tired of a car, then it makes sense to switch to a motorcycle, but in advance you need to find yourself an inexpensive helmet for a motorcycle, since there is no point in buying an expensive one right away, it is better to start with something simple. This also applies to the motorcycle itself.

Another element can be included in this cycle: some of the unburned fuel with solid hydrocarbon particles is recycled and burned again under the control of sensors monitoring the content of pollutants in the exhaust.

The engine performs all these processes at a speed of 1200 rpm at idle. When the throttle is opened, combustion occurs more intensely, the number of revolutions increases and, if the transmission is connected, the car begins to accelerate. To cycle properly, an engine needs three things: reliable ignition, air and fuel in sufficient quantities. If there are irregularities in the engine operation that cause the car to jerk when you press the gas, then most likely one of the following processes is not happening properly:

fuel supply;
preparation of the mixture;
ignition.

The first option is to saw off one “tongue” from Kalina’s lock. Particularly gifted craftsmen do this without any removal of the lock, right on the spot, using an angle grinder. You have to work very carefully. If you don’t have a grinder, the same steps can be done with a hacksaw.

The second option is to replace the lock. Many car owners installed a trunk lock for their Lada Priora instead of the original one. This option is perfect for those Kalina owners who do not have the desire and/or ability to cut anything. All other steps for installing the Kalina station wagon trunk lock activator are extremely simple.

A rotary washer is installed on the plastic activator pusher, then the entire system is secured with a locking ring.
