How to make an original radiator grill on Lada Vesta

In order to avoid this, we will install an additional mesh. For the lower part you need a piece of mesh measuring 85cm x 15cm, for the upper part – 95cm x 20cm. Anything less is not advisable; there will be problems with fastening. More is possible, the excess will be cut off.

We chose a black painted aluminum mesh.

First you need to remove the front bumper, without this there is no way. We remove the bumper with the partner so as not to damage it or the body. It's easy and takes about 10 minutes.

As you can see from the photo, the radiator suffers from insects and pebbles. Moreover, the lower part gets more. So it is more important to install the lower additional mesh than the upper one. More nasty stuff flies at her.

On the removed front bumper, from the inside, using a TORX T20 wrench, unscrew all the screws securing the lower radiator grille to the bumper.

Remove the grille from the bumper.

Now you need to unscrew three more screws in the central part of the grille to release the outer plastic cover of the grille.

Now the cover is free, it is not necessary to remove it completely.

There is a small protrusion in the center of this pad. This is a guide for installing this cover. The guide does not have any load-bearing function, but it prevents the installation of the mesh.

There are two options - cut a hole in the mesh or cut off/grind off this protrusion. We ground it down on the spot without removing the trim.

Now we place the mesh on the inside. We cut off the excess that may interfere with the installation of the grille, and screw the mesh onto three self-tapping screws along with the central cover.

If the mesh is large, then you can attach it to the bumper with standard screws that secure the grille to the bumper. We have a back-to-back grid. But it's not scary. We take cable ties in black color (or any other color, depending on the color of the mesh)…

... and we pull the mesh along the perimeter to the places where the grille is attached so that it does not dangle and sits firmly on the grille.

The grate is ready. The grid is installed.

Now we install the grille assembly with the mesh in its place in the bumper and fasten it with standard self-tapping screws.

We insert the mesh onto the top grill in the same way. You can directly on the bumper so as not to remove it from the latches.

The grid is not visible from the street at all if it is the same color as the grid. But you can insert silver or any other color. Then the mesh will be noticeable.

There is another way - to buy ready-made bumper covers. But their price is 2700 rubles. for the top and 1800 rub. for the bottom (black). And chrome trims with mesh are even more expensive (in 2022).

If you insert the mesh yourself, then you need to buy the mesh itself (200-500 rubles) and cable ties. Much cheaper, but there are also disadvantages - you have to remove the bumper.
